Oracle time adjustment

Hi, can anyone tell me how to adjust oracle time to DST? I read articles in metalink, but I don't even have tz_ views in my 10g database. The system is windows 2003 32bit R2 and the database is 10.2.0.1. It's still the old time, frustrating......

Hi,
I don't even have tz_ views in my 10g database.Yeah, but the data dictionary does have TIMEZONE types and all 10g database must do the patch!
Here are my Cliff notes (I've done it over-and-over, all week!):

  • Applying time adjustment twice.

I guess the time adjustment works on what is showing, not on the original photo time. I used Batch Change twice on some photos because some of them weren't imported with the time adjustment, so I thought, what the heck I'm just telling it the camera time (always UTC) and the local time zone, so if I do it again it shouldn't matter (I'm assuming Aperture is looking at the original photo time capture). But Aperture does the shift twice. I see this as a bug, but maybe my thinking is wrong.
This happens frequently for me because I use two camera's and also my girl friends pictures, and when I'm importing I sometimes forget to set the time adjustment.
    Update:
I dug into the library and the original photo has not been change and "Date Time Original" and "Date Time Digitized" are still the correct UTC zone. (But we all knew that since Aperture never changes the original.) Why can't I use this as the basis for resetting the "Image Date"?

    Hi all,
A developer came to me saying that he put a 11gr2 table into default compression mode which was already in default compresssion mode. After that 32GB of table got compressed to 26GB. How is this possible? Is it that it is double compressed?
Right now I do not have access to that database nor do I know how to find what happed there. Only thing I can think of is that , the table was originally put in compression in 11gr1 and then again applied compression in 11gr2,so some algorithm enhancement might have done this.
    Any thoughs?
with this I am also wondering what happens when enahancements are introduced in any feature I mean let say in case of compression if a algorithm enhanced will the enahancement be applied on the whole table or the data that will be inserted/updated post such upgrade?multiple compression option available in 11gR2 with different compression level.
    see complete detail
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25494/tables002.htm#ADMIN11630
and Compression can occur while data is being inserted, updated, or bulk loaded into a table.

  • Get date from Oracle when local time zone is different from Oracle time zon

    Hi!
    Local machine time zone= +2
    Oracle time zone= +1
I set date to Oracle using java.sql.Date.
From application I save date at 00:30 clock and send e.g. 28.06.2002, but in Oracle date is save as 27.06.2002 01:00 (hour=01 , I suppose that is because java.sql.Date hasn't time the Oracle set it time = time zone=+1) And when I get date from Oracle I get incorrect date. In SQL I don't use date masks. Maybe solution is to use java.sql.Timestamp object (when save date to Oracle) instead of java.sql.Date?
But if I save date at e.g. 01:00 clock and send e.g. 28:06.2002 in Oracle, date is save as 28.06.2002 01:00 and when I read from Oracle I get correct date.
    Thank you.

  • UNIX time to Oracle time

    Hallo,
I am acquiring the data for my reports in a UNIX evironment using embedded SQL.
Therefore I am searching for a function that converts the UNIX time to ORACLE time. Currently I am doing the conversion via a string representation but I would prefer a function that does it on a binary level.
    Thanks a lot - Ulrich

maybe (using the link provided) ;)

  • Oracle Time and Labor - Change and Late Audit

    Dear All,
We are using Payroll Layout and Single Day period.
Timecard has only Hour Type (Regular Time, Overtime & So on.) and In / Out.
We have Swipe Machines. Employee Swipes In & Out. Every night these entries are deposited in OTL with Submitted mode.
Next day Employee is allowed to modify these entries in accordance with Time Policies.
For e.g. Timecard shows 08:30 to 19:30 as Regular Hour. Employee can modify 08:30 to 17:00 as Regular Time and 18:00 to 19:30 as Overtime Hour Type.
Now the problem is Approver would like to know exact change, as what was the Original Entry and What is the modified entry.
Is there any way to achieve this?
Can Change and Late Audit work on Payroll Layout?
I am unable to find Payroll Change & Late Audit Layout. Only Project Change and Late Audit Layouts are available and we are not using Project.

    Hi 864434,
An easier way would have been to use Earning policies.
You can define rules which would automatically split the earning types to Overtime etc..
This is a very simple setup too.
    Some examples here -
Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) OTLR California Overtime Policy Setup and Examples [ID 1451080.1]
This way, the layout would show what the employee has actually worked and how the rules are applied to split it, all on one page.
But if you don't want to go that route..
Can you not use the data from the swipe machines ?
I guess you would load the data into an temporary table.
So you can write a discoverer report which would show the actual times for each employee.
On the layouts, there are only some predefined ones.
Others, you will have to create on your own(may be by customising a seeded one)
    Hope that helps,
    Cheers,
    Vignesh

  • NI 1772 camera exposure time adjustment resolution

What is the exposure time adjustment resolution capability for the NI 1772 camera?  I'm getting only 10ms.  Can I get 5 or even 1ms resolution?

    Hi Rob,
I am unclear what the problem you are seeing is. Vision Builder AI does not appear to impose any restrictions on the granularity of the exposure time. You can put any value with precision down to sub-microsecond levels (no need to go by units of 10 microseconds).
As for the changes in intensity vs exposure time, keep in mind that image sensors and the hardware that reads them don't necessarilly behave linearly and so you may not see such a linear relationship in the data. While you said that you saw no change in intensity from 70us to 80us, were you looking at a single pixel or an average of the entire sensor? If you average it over the whole sensor I think you'll see the difference (although it might be small and less than a single count).

  • Login to oracle time and labor by web service

    Hi,
How can we login to oracle e-businees suite by extenal web service. In our Oracle time and labor it takes employee id and password.
    Thanks

    Hi
We are not implementing any kind of flex Time.
Are you aware of how to setup OTL to record time worked in Days, and how that can be transported to Oracle Project.
The module is configured to setup in Hours.
    Any ideas?
Could you highlight any documents that will simplify the process of a basic OTL setup
Oracle HR and Project is going to be implemented
    Thanks

  • Oracle Time and Labor time entry

    Hi,
In Oracle Time and Labor on-line time entry (Timecard) screen I need to record end user's system's time as time-in and time-out i.e. user should not be able to modify the timing details.
Can OTL possibly meet above requirement. An urgent response will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Bilal

    Hi Bilal,
I tried it earlier, but was not successful.
Only thing you can do is something mentioned in the forums below -
Start/End times in Custom Formula - OTL
Auto populate system time for start/end times in OTL Time card
    cheers,

  • Oracle Time and Labor in OBIA

    Hi All,
Can anyone confirm Oracle Time and Labor (OTL) dashboards (or data) is available in OBIA? I'm just wondering whether HR analytics contains those data.
    Thanks for the help.
    Nilaksha.

T&L is not available as of yet in OBIA. I believe the only HRMS modules includes with OBIA (as of 7962) are:
    Oracle Human Resources
    Oracle Payroll
    Oracle Learning
    Management
    Oracle iRecruitment

  • Oracle Time and Labor Patch 4773293 - HXT.I CUMULATIVE BACKPORTS 5

Oracle Time and Labor Patch 4773293 - HXT.I CUMULATIVE BACKPORTS 5 has been released to MetaLink for download.
This patch contains a number of important fixes. oracle Development recommends customers on HXT I level to apply this patch.
Patch details, prerequisites and installation instruction are contained in the 4773293 Readme.
    Regards,
    Greg

    Greg,
    Thanks for this update.
You state that this is the final roll up patch on HXT-I.
Isn't Oracle policy to provide backported patches on the last two minipacks? Wouldn't that currently be HXT-I and HXT-J?
