Oracle Timesten Error

Hi,
I'm sorry to post my question here,I just don't know where to the proper location for this one. By anyway, if somebody to help me out here it would be great and I will deeply appreciate it.
We are testing the oracle times-time database cache on our oracle 10g development server. We are going to what would be the effect or changes our apps data retreival. I was able to install times-ten, but when I'm trying to cache a database I having some errors somthing about
"ttOCIEnvNlsCreate."
I have followed the steps in your quick tutorials and end up with this error.I think it has something to do with the wrapping of the database characterset. Kindly advise on what to do.

It is reached from http://forums.oracle.com - scroll down to Database category and select 'More...'. In the resulting list, Times Ten is close to the end.

And on the notes it says:

This procedure cannot be called from a Client/Server connection.
This procedure is available only for IMDB Cache.
The cache administration user ID and password cannot be set while either the cache agent or the replication agent are running.
The cache administration user ID cannot be reset while there are ASYNCHRONOUS WRITETHROUGH cache groups or AUTOREFRESH cache groups (with a state that is not equal to OFF) on the database.
What does: This procedure cannot be called from a Client/Server connection mean?
Is this the root cause of the problem or I am missing a step?

I still get the same error. But I have figured out what is wrong. Just in case other users encounter the same errors, here's what I did:
I created a tnsnames.ora file in my TIMESTEN_HOME/network/admin that has the connection info to testenv Oracle instance. +(i dont know if this is necessary)+. Then:

Oracle TimesTen - Cyrillic names problem

Hi, Guys!
I am trying to adopt Oracle TimesTen to speedup my database. My database has alot of objects with Cyrillic names. I`ve tried almost all the character sets which support Cyrillics, but it does not gives me a chance to create this objects. I`ve used CL8KOI8R, CL8MSWIN1251, RU8PC866, AL16UTF16, AL32UTF8, UTF8 as default database character set and connection character set, but it still gives me an error.
Here is an query example:
"create table "Скважина" (a int);"
It returns:
" 1006: Identifier "Скважина" contains illegal characters
The command failed."

Although TimesTen supports various character sets for data, we do not support use of Unicode characters for object names. Could that be the issue? What character encoding are you using when trying to create the Cyrillic names?

Data export(ttbulkcp) Oracle TimesTen Question

I'm trying to export an Oracle TimesTen(TimesTen Release 11.2.1.5.0) with ttbulkcp(Data export), using SQL Developer Version 2.1.1.64
All other functions are normal operation. Also ttbulkcp(Data export) in Oracle Table is normal operation. But , I get the following error in ttbulkcp(Data export) in TimesTen Table.

Oracle Timesten Unable to stat Cache Connect

Hi,
Can Anyone help me out with this error

I give DSN,username,password and when I give login , the following error is displayed

ODBC Error/Warning = S1000, Additional Error/Warning = 5221
TT5221: Oracle syntax error in OCIStmtExecute(): ORA-00923: FROM keyword not found where expected rc = -1 -- file "bdbConnect.c", lineno 1010, procedure "isRACEnabled()"

What exact version of Oracle client is installed on the TimesTen machine? Are the permissions for the Oracle client directory and files set correctly? Do you have your Oracle environment properly setup (i.e. can you connect to Oracle using SQL*PLUS)? When you installed TimesTen, did the user you used to install it have a valid Oracle environment?
This type of error is almost always due to an unsupported version of the client or an incorrect environment either at runtime or at installation time.

[Newbie Question] Getting *** ODBC Error = 08004, TimesTen Error = 818

While just playing around with Times ten and I am getting following error while starting data source

From where does Timesten hit this limit of 2047 MB ? Can i increase the maximum sizes by doing some configuration changes(My machine as around 6 gb memory[Oracle DB is also installed on the same node]). I am trying to check the various operations using bigger tables (around 2gb DB size).

You are running 32-bit TimesTen on a 32-bit O/S. Regardless of how much memory the machine has, there are limits on how much can be used by an individual process and further limits due to filesize etc. 32-bit TimesTen is limited to a maximum datastore size of 2 GB.
To create a datastore with an overall size larger than 2 GB you need a 64-bit machine running a 64-bit O/S and 64-bit TimesTen. Then the only limitation is how much physical memory you have in the machine...

ERROR: ORACLE prepare error: ORA-00936: missing expression

Hello,
I am required to run "pass-through" Oracle SQL, to extract data from tables into SAS for processing and manipulation. My code (attached) reads and writes (executes) but with zero records to test first. I cannot get past the Prepare Error.
The query is very much like other queries that seem to work, but I cannot get past this prepare error. I have no other access to individauls with adequate knowledge of PL SQL, and as a last stop hoped others in the forum could quickly spot the source of errror.

Wish Oracle was a bit more informative. Am using a SAS Institute Product called Enterprise Guide. A "hot fix" was installed to address an issue that the product appears unable to save the latest version of edited code changes (hence " BETWEEN between" remaining even after a prior edit). In any case, with the change, am now receiving this error:
" ERROR: ORACLE prepare error: ORA-00904: "PHRMCY_CLM_FACT"."LAST_SRVC_DT": invalid identifier". (Log file appears below)
-The error remains, regardless of whether one uses "pass through" code to pass the date range to Oracle (which looks ok from the log output below I believe), or if I hard code the date range into the PL SQL query itself.
-The Prepare error always appears at end of the inner SELECT.
-The Prepare error remains, with or without the GROUP BY clause.
Is there anything else here I am missing? Someone suggested a reserve word - but from other ANSI SQL versions, I do not see that is the case. I have consulted SAS Tech Support and SAS List Serve at University of GA. but nothing definitive from these sources. Have requested facility to be able to run Oracle directly, outside this SAS Institute product - in process.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone very much.

while updating row count in Admin tool i am getting the following error

Oracle SSO error while trying to access a report

I am using Oracle 11g reports and forms.My adf application(using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4) will use oracle reports through url.
From adf application we form a url for the reports like https://<server>:<port>/reports/rwservlet?server=devstage11g&destype=cache&desformat=pdf&report=spore001…
we send the userid parameter as a hidden parameter in the request as we do not want the userid information to be visible in the URL. It works fine in one environment. But in another environment when we hit the url it always give a page with a single line saying "Oracle SSO". When we hit the same url with userid parameter appended to it directly, it works fine.
Checked the configuration difference, but not able to find any difference in the configuration. Please help me to find why it always gives "Oracle SSO" error.

After search I found some references to recreate the sys objects by running standard sqls like CATALOG.SQL, CATPPROC.SQL etc. While running these SQLs as well I am getting oracle "Internal Errors".
I tries re-creating many sys packages and am consistently getting these errors. It looks to me I have problem while accessing procedures in all sys packages. I checked, all the packages are valid and have EXECUTE priviledge to PUBLIC.

ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56319] usually occurs,when there was a switch between bit sizes (source is 32 bit,target 64 bit and vice versa) . In such a case script utlirp.sql has to be run ($ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin).

Like the error message says, you don't have a global_lexer. So, you need to create a global_lexer and that lexer must have at least a default sub_lexer, then you can use that global_lexer in your index parameters. Please see the demonstration below, including reproduction of the error and solution.

[Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle]Syntax error or access violation

Hi,
When I am trying to connect to Oracle 8.1.6 database using Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle. The connection is established.
But while creating CallableStatement, I am getting error "[Microsoft][ODBC driver for Oracle]Syntax error or access violation".
What I need to do to resolve this problem.

It could be an issue with the driver.
You can try with the OLEDB n Oracle native connection to test if the issue persists.

ORACLE LOG ERRORS - Bug in oracle??

Hi,
we are using oracle log errors to capture oversized err records for varchar2 type fields. Sql is something like:
INSERT INTO abc (col1,col2) VALUES ('asdsass','weqwewqee') LOG ERRORS INTO abc_err('1') REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED;
But, data captured in abc table is trimmed data. Right spaces present in source are being trimmed by oracle while capturing this error table. I have the following queries:
-Has anyone else experienced this type of behavior?
-Is it a bug in oracle log errors functionallity??
-Is there any workaround to use oracle log errors functionality to catch untrimmed data?
