Oracle to informix data import

Hi all,
I have an Oracle database from which one I want to push data into an Informix database.
Is there any way to create a cron job that updates my informix table based on my oracle data ( I mean, push missing data from my Oracle db to my Informix db).
I would like to have a job that first push all my Oracle table (only one table) data to an Informix table. After that, I want to only update missing data.
Anyone can help me ?
Thanks,
Chantale

Probably you will need to configure connectivity for direct data push.

    Hi,
You will  have to study the business needs and populate according data, You may also raise an SR with respect to this and get the support from Oracle if you don't have any experienced superiors on this subject/module to ask from.

  • Import of ERwinR8 data models into Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler

Hi!  My site want to move off ERwin R8 and use Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler.  When will Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler support the import of ERwin R8data model xml?
    Thanks very much,  Patty

    Hi,
You can add the classic SCOTT schema with EMP/DEPT tables to a 10g Express Edition DB by running this script as SYSTEM:
    C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\RDBMS\ADMIN\scott.sql
Also, you may wish to upgrade to the current version of SQL Developer:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html
As for importing a .dmp file, you import it to the database, not SQL Developer. Please post that question to the appropriate forum.

  • Data Import Wizard from Excel on DATE column

I have exported data to a csv in Oracle SQL Developer and one of the columns are of an Oracle Date datatype. In opening up Excel I see the Date column represented as 15-MAY-01 12.00.00.000000000 AM.
I am now going through the Data Import Wizard to create a new table and import the data. When I get to Step 3 of 4 it reads the data and assigns it a VARCHAR2. I want the column to be Date or Timestamp. In this case I choose timestamp and for format entered DD-MON-YY hh.mi.ss.fffffffff AM.
When I go to Step 4 of 4 to and click the Verify button I get:
"Verifying if the Date columns have date formats" Date columns DOT_LOGN_EFDT, have invalid or null date formats.
I am using Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.0.63 Build 63.73.
Any idea what I put in the format window to read the excel value of 15-MAY-01 12.00.00.000000000 AM correctly?

I am not able to reproduce your problem. When I export a date column, I do not get the time portion. This is the expected behavior. When re-importing the date, I therefore have no problem. I have tried manipulating the tools->preferences->database->nls->date format mask to include the time (and fractional seconds), but export still only exports the date portion. The fractional seconds is not valid for a date field, which explains the import error you are getting. The question remains as to why the exported data has the time. Can you describe your exact steps for doing the export?

  • Problem with oracle text indexes during import

We have a 9.2.0.6 database using oracle text features on a server with windows 2000 5.00.2195 SP4.
We need to export its data ( user ARIANE only ) and then import the result into another 9.2.0.6 database.
The import never comes to an end.
The only way to make it work is to use the "indexes=n" clause.
Then ( without the indexes ), we tried to create manually the oracle text indexes.
    We get this error :
CREATE INDEX ARIANE.DOSTEXTE_DTTEXTE_CTXIDX ON ARIANE.DOSTEXTE (DTTEXTE)
    INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT PARAMETERS('lexer ariane_lexer stoplist ctxsys.default_stoplist storage ariane_storage');
ORA-29855: erreur d'exécution de la routine ODCIINDEXCREATE
    ORA-20000: Erreur Oracle Text :
    DRG-10700: préférence inexistante : ariane_lexer
    ORA-06512: à "CTXSYS.DRUE", ligne 157
    ORA-06512: à "CTXSYS.TEXTINDEXMETHODS", ligne 219
We then tried to uninstall Oracle text and install it ( My Oracle Support [ID 275689.1] ). The index creation above still fails.
We also checked our Text installation and setup through My Oracle Support FAQ ( ID 153264.1 ) and everything seems ok.
Do we have to create some ARIANE* lexer preferences through specific pl/sql ( ctx_report* ? ) before importing anything from the ARIANE user ?
What do we need to do exactly when exporting data with oracle text features from one database to another given we used to restore the database through a copy of the entire windows files ?
Is there a specific order to follow to succeed an import ?
    Thank you for your help.
    Jean-michel, Nemours, FRANCE

    Hi
index preferences are not exported, ie ariane_lexer + ariane_storage, only the Text index metada, thus the DRG-10700 from index DDL on target/import DB.
I recommend to use ctx_report.create_index_script on source/export DB, see Doc ID 189819.1 for details, export with indexes=N and then create text indexes manually after data import.

  • .csv data import via SQL developer

I am trying to load an Access 2003 table into an Oracle 10g database via SQL developer. The Access file is located on another system and there is no ODBC connection between it and the SQL server.
What I have done so far is the following:
    i) Export Access table as comma-delimited text file;
    ii) Open text file and re-saved as .CSV;
iii) On SQL developer - created a table that matches the column structure in the original Access table, then right-clicked > Import Data > on Data Import Wizard I click Next...
after this, the wizard hangs on step 1, and does not allow me to move to the second step. It doesn't matter whether or not the SQL *Loader option is checked.
If anyone could offer some advice on the procedure I have applied above and possible sources of weakness, I'd be grateful to hear your thoughts. I'm relatively new to Oracel SQL and not very experienced with databases in general.
    Thanks

  • UNDOTBS during Data Import (datapump)

    Hi,
I want to know how much space does the data import occupies on the undotbs tablespace? will it consume the same exact space (size) of the table being imported? I am using impdp for importing data. (data_only).
Also, i want to know when will ORACLE use UNDOTBS and TEMP tbs.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!!
    Christian George Medija

IMPDP just does the plain inserts that is what makes datapump platform independant. So if it just doing plain insert , it will definitely use Undo Tablespace. Now the question is how much?
Impdp consume more undo tablespace because it has to run some additional metadata and some master table queries during import.BUt if you are just importing using parameter data_only, you might not go above your table size or might go little above that. For example, if you have 5GB of table, you might go 5.2 GB.
Temporary tablespace: Impdp definitely use Temporay tablespace at lot of places while importing. One is when creating indexes, it has to do a sorting which uses you temporary tablespace.

  • Data Import Wizard Not Importing

When importing even a very small csv file, pressing the "Finish" button does nothing.
"Verify" reports success on all tests.
Checking "Send to Worksheet" makes no difference.
    File is on network drive.
    Database is 10.2.0.4.

  • Oracle sql developer Data Modeler -er diagram

    Hi
I tried to Oracle sql developer data modeler for show relational ER diagrams.
Tables are came on data modeler but not shown relations between tables.
    like this
How can show relations between tables?
    http://i54.tinypic.com/30wxq1e.jpg

SDDM cannot create an ER diagram with only simple table definitions. It requires that primary keys (PKs) and foreign keys (FKs) be defined first. My guess is you imported these table designs from an existing database. If so, that database does not contain those constraints. (I have found this to be an issue in many organizations over the last 20 years - including my current job). You will have to determine:
    1. The PKs for each table (either via data profiling or talk to someone who "knows" what they are supposed to be, or by reading application logic/code used to manage the tables).
    2. The FKs between the tables. You may be able to guess some of that based on column names, otherwise you will have to figure them out (same as above)
Then you can update the model in SDDM with the PK definiions (manually). You must do that first before you draw in the FKs between the tables. Now if you want a true Entity Relationship model you need create a logical model from this relational model. The SDDM utility for that will convert the tables to entities and the FKs to relationships.
I have the basic steps with screen shots outlined in a presentation I gave in Denver in late 2009. It was an earlier version of SDDM but the basics are the same. You can find the presentation is here: http://www.rmoug.org/QEW2009/SQL%20Developer%20Data%20Modeler%20(2).pdf. Start at about slide 12.
    HTH
(FYI - I no longer work at that company so the contact information not correct anymore).
