Oracle VM Server 3.1.1 issues with NFS share
Hi guys
I am kind of stuck with the same issue for more than a week now. I have two virtual machines on Virtual box 4.1.8 (VM Server and VM Manager 3.1.1) and NFS following is disk/mount information on VM Server

Both the virtual machines have 4GB memory, independant NICs dedicated for each virtual machine (as somebody else from forums suggested for it...)
Please help me!!!

raj
hi user12273962
I hope the following few details will assist you to provide me a suggestion to overcome this issue
My Oracle VM server IP address: 192.168.0.20
VM Manager IP: 192.168.0.23
Both machines are tied to different NICs for avoiding excess traffic
df -h on VM server

/dev/sdc1 /storage2 ext3 defaults 1 2/etc/exports output

/storage2 192.168.0.20(rw,sync,no_root_squash,nohide)Should I export the mount points to another server? Please let me know.
NFS was the only one file type recognized by the discovery process...I am quite new to virtualization, actually spent last whole week trying and fixing one or other issue with the VM server :D
If you know how I could avoid NFS in the entire scenario (as this is just for learning purpose) I would be grateful :)

raj

Does oracle application server's plsql program accord with corba criterion?
Does oracle application server's plsql program accord with corba criterion?
You need to purchase a have a support contract to have access to that.
You can try upgrading to the latest JDK 6 an latest WLS 10.3.6, you have the chance the issue is fixed in the latest 11g release.

Can you help me resolve this problem?
Thanks a lot.Hi,
looks like the database connection could not be established. The document contains a step-by-step description of how to ensure that the connect is working after deploying the BC as EJB. You can configure the BC tester to work with the EJB deployment to see if the model works.

Or I guess a related question is what version of apache comes with the latest App Server Patch Set (10.1.3.4.0)?
We are running OAS 10.1.3.3.x and we are having issues with URLs that end in a number but which have query parameters at the end.
E.g. http://<stuff_here>/1?type=table&format=html
The URLs come from REST-ful GET operations. It seems like the HTTP server just ignores the query parameters completely.
When we run against stand-alone OC4J which includes an embedded HTTP server, such URLs work as expected.
We are hoping that perhaps the latest patch set for the full Oracle Application Server 10g will overcome this issue.
But if we need to move to a later Oracle HTTP Server (like the one that comes as an option for the Oracle 11g database installation) we would be willing to do so.
Comments related to this are welcome.
Thanks
JimHi,
Does anyone have experiece getting Apex working with secured BI publisher?
The error I am getting when PDF printing from Apex to BI pub is:
"ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified.
Error failed
OK "
Please note, network services in 11G are already configured; thus I am able to print from Apex to non-secured BI pub.
Thanks,

Oracle Application Server 10g thread stuck issue.
We are having,
Oracle Application Server 10g [10.1.3.1 + 10.1.3.4patch] along with Oracle Http Server 2.0
Now there is a issue of thread stuck [some application threads taking longer times] due to which the application server is unable to respond and sometimes it reinits the oc4j instance.
=> Is there any setting to increase the Thread Stuck Time in OAS.
=> Is there any setting to stop the auto reinit of oc4j instance.
=> Does the auto re init of oc4j get logged in opmn.log as well as in service.log.
It will be really helpful if any advice on the same.
Thanks in advance...
ManojCLook in httpd.conf file anything that is like thread in there you will find a simple description of the Directives.

Oracle App Server 10.1.2 (Windows) with STAF
I'm trying to run STAF in a servlet in OAS and STAF has a jar named JSTAF.jar that further uses some dll files. Oracle App server is not able to load the dll files. To overcome this i specified -Djava.library.path=<dll files directory> in the server properties but now OAS is able to load some of STAF dll files but it still gives the following error. Please Suggest are there any options in OAS to make it load all the dll files.:

Install Oracle Application Server on the same machine with Oracle Database
Hello!
I have already have installed on my laptop the oracle Database 10g, and i want to install on the same machine Oracle Application Server; can I do that? After i look on some threads on this forum I understand that all I have to do is to change the default port 1521 of the database to antoher ..let's say 1523...how can I change the port? what files do i have to modify? Oracle Application server can work in good conditions with Oracle XE or I will have the same problem?
My SO is Windows XP Professional SP II, all updates, 512RAM, 2Ghz-CPU
Thanks!Well, you'll have some problems to run simultaneously Database and AS with 512 Mb...
Apart from that, you don't need to start two listeners, you can use just one (the highest version) for both DBs.
If, for any reason, you want to use two, you can change the port within LISTENER.ORA file, normally in ORACLE_HOME\network\admin. -
Can I install Oracle VM server on VMware Workstation 7 with linux?
I have installed VMware Workstation 7 on my laptop that already has windows 7 operating system.
Next I installed Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 on my VMware Workstation 7.
Now am planing to setup a RAC environment.
What should be my next step? The documentation says I need to install VMware server.
Are VMware server and Oracle VM server the same?
can we replace one with other.
I am a newbie.. Please spare my questions.hi,
your vm ware server is ok.. but you should install same o/s for RAC..

RWServlet (Oracle Reports Server CGI unable to communicate with the reports server)
Running Oracle 6i Reports Server on one NT machine (with the default install) and trying to execute the above servlet, on another system with a java servlet server, I get the above error.
I have added REPORTS60_REPORTS_SERVER to the environment, as well as the registry. Note that on the Servlet Server I have NO other Oracle installations.
So, is RWServlet dependent upon ANYTHING else being installed on the servlet server machine or ANY other environment/registry settings?
Thanks! You will need to install the reports client as well to get a link to your reports server.

Oracle HTTP Server internal heartbeat process issue
Hi All,
I am having an Oracle HTTP Server configured in the front of Weblogic 11g. I just noticed that
in my HTTP Server access.log, there is an incoming new entry every 20 seconds like this,
127.0.0.1 - - [19/May/2010:08:09:57 -0400] "HEAD /index.html HTTP/1.1" 200 -
127.0.0.1 - - [19/May/2010:08:10:17 -0400] "HEAD /index.html HTTP/1.1" 200 -
127.0.0.1 - - [19/May/2010:08:10:37 -0400] "HEAD /index.html HTTP/1.1" 200 -
It appears that it is an internal background process in HTTP server that does this.
Does anybody know what this process is and how I can stop it or just stop it from adding this entry to the log?
Thanks,
John WangRoberto,
I checked the file opmn.xml and could not see anything related to this. However, I did find a link which addressed the issue and provided a way to stop it from writing the record in access.log.
How to stop DMS from writing to Access Log
Thanks,

Hi,
we have an issue in our replicated environment using Streams.
We have a replicated table using the following index:
UK_S01_TEXT_FORMAT_TBL01 SOGID
UK_S01_TEXT_FORMAT_TBL01 INDEX_TEXT_FORMAT_ID
UK_S01_TEXT_FORMAT_TBL01 INDEX_LANGUAGE_LABEL
UK_S01_TEXT_FORMAT_TBL01 INDEX_TEXT_FORMAT_COUNTER
UK_S01_TEXT_FORMAT_TBL01 INDEX_PROVIDER_ID
UK_S01_TEXT_FORMAT_TBL01 INDEX_TARIFF_PLAN_COSP_ID
with field INDEX_PROVIDER_ID allowing NULL values. Actually we insert empty strings in there, but as far as I understand Oracle will convert it sliently in a NULL value, which is fine to our application.
When we apply a change on that table (either update or delete) we get errors at streams level and the transaction is not propagated.

If I force the set of primary keys to be only the NOT NULL fields, I can successfully apply the error, but since we may have them storing both NULL and NOT NULL values, this is not a solution.
I'm wondering why the DB on one hand converts the empty string in a NULL while inserting, but it looks the Apply process onStandby is not able to do the same when looking for the record before applying the transaction.
Thanks in advance!

OS X Server + Active Directory Authentication Issue with Wikis
Hello,
I recently purchased an Apple XServe with Snow Leopard installed. The purpose of this server is to enable students and teachers to create Wikis and Blogs.
The majority of my environment is MS, with Active Directory as our LDAP provider.
I have joined the server to my domain and can add domain accounts to the Wiki creation access list without issue, but whenever I try to login to the server's web interface with one of those accounts the login screen shakes and prompts for another set of credinitals.
What am I doing wrong? Open Directory seems to be setup properly and has been kerberitized as it requested when I joined the box to the domain.
Thank you all for your help,
David

Apache web server 2.0 plugin issue with Iframes
I was wondering if anyone had any issues related to iframes when going from the Apache plugin for version 1.3 to version 2.0. Currently I'm having a problem where I use the mod_wl20.so plugin on Apache web server 2.0X and I will get a download dialog box to download a html file. I do not have this issue when using the plugin for Apache web server 1.3X.

[email protected]there is no SAP supported solution for Apache2.
Note https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/442401 stated the development has ended.
But you can build your own filter based on SSOEXT library, see https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/304450 for details.

Windows server 2012 R2 clustering issue with disks
we have a two node cluster
we have volumes configurred on both the clusters.we are using EVA san storage.
Data(C:\ClusterStorage\Volume1)
Logs(C:\ClusterStorage\Volume2)
i am able to change/move Clustered disk drives from owner node A to Owner node B.I cannot see the clustered drives on both active/passive nodes.
i am also not able to view the volumes on node b in the windows explorer. Can someone please tell me how to look at the volumes once we move between the drives on the cluster.
Thank you
luckySince you are showing us that you have configured Cluster Shared Volumes, that means there are no volumes to be seen in Windows Explorer. This is expected behavior. When you create Cluster Shared Volumes, the cluster software creates reparse
or mount points for the volumes. That is what the C:\ClusterStorage\Volumex is - it is pointing to the actual volume. When you want to use storage, you need to point to C:\ClusterStorage\Volumex and whatever subdirectory you create for the location.
CSVs are not meant to be used by all applications. They were initially designed for Hyper-V. But that is not how you would set up you cluster if you want to offer a something like a regular file share.

Permissions issue with NFS mounted MyCloud
FIrst off let me say I think this is a LInux issue and not a WDMyCloud issue, but I'm not sure, so here goes... I can rsync my stuff off the Linux systems on my LAN to back them up into a WDMyCloud share, no problem. But then I can't get at some stuff with limited file permissions, when I mount the WDMyCloud via NFS. Here's the problem... Let's s say my directory tree on the WDMyCloud looks like "/shares/Stuff/L1/L2/L3" where the permissions on "L3" look like this: drwx------+ 3 fred share 4096 Jul 1 01:03 L3 It's readable/writeable only by "fred". I want to preserve the permissions and ownerships on everything, so if I have to do a restore and "rsync" it back onto another machine they'll go back the way they were when I backed them up. I can see the contents of "L3" if I "ssh" into the MyCloud, *but* I *cannot* see the contents of "L3" if I try to look at it via the NFS mount - I get ls: L3: permission denied. If I change the permissions on it, e.g.drwxrwxrwx+ 3 fred share 4096 Jul 1 01:03 L3then I can see the contents of "L3" just fine. So it's just the fact that via the NFS mount the MyCloud NFS server (Or something?) won't give me access to it unless the permissions are open, even logged in as "root" on the machine where the MyCloud is NFS mounted. I tried creating "fred" as a user on the MyCloud *and* made sure the numerical UID and GIDs were the same on the Linux machine and the MyCloud - No dice. I haven't tried everything in the world yet (I haven't tried rebooting the MyCloud to see if some server hasn't picked up the changes to "/etc/passwd" or whatever ; there's something called "idmapd" that I guess I should look into... Etc.) But I thought maybe somebody here might have run into this or have a bright idea?
I had some problems, and I modified the /etc/exports file to meet a little more my needs This is the content of it: -------/nfs/jffs *(rw,sync,no_root_squash,no_subtree_check)/nfs *(rw,all_squash,sync,no_subtree_check,insecure,crossmnt,anonuid=999,anongid=1000)-------- The first line/share allows to change the permissisions and uid below them when you monted on your machineThe second one I maped the anonuid to the uid my user has on the wd (999) so when I mount a share on the machine everything is write with that used id If you modifes the /etc/exports file remeber to run after you edited the command "exportfs -a" to refresh the changes Hope this help with your problem
