Eclipse - Weblogic Server : Unable to validate WebLogic Domain
Hello,
I am using Eclipse Helios 3.6.1 to connect to a remote WebLogic server (10.3.3). When defining the server object (in the Servers view), I get "Stopped, unable to validate Weblogic Domain'.
The following exception is shown in the logging
java.net.ConnectException: t3://webl1:7001: Destination unreachable; nested exception is:
java.net.ProtocolException: unrecognized response from proxy: 'HTTP/1.1 502 Proxy Error ( The specified Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) port is not allowed. ISA Server is not configured to allow SSL requests from this port. Most Web browsers use port 443 for SSL requests. )'; No available router to destination
I already tested the following alternatives
- towards several Weblogic Servers (as well Wintel as Linux)
- I recreated the domain
- I added the hostname in the <manual> Proxy settings of Eclipse and selected for this <manual> setting.
- I am able to connect to that server by means of a WLST utility project.
It is something weird, because a couple of weeks ago, I encountered the same issue. I thought it disappeared by updating from Eclipse 3.6.0 toward 3.6.1 (with also an upgrade of the Oracle related plugins). But now I have the same issue again.
Do you have any idea ? (or which forum is more appropriate for this questionI was able to fix this by ensuring that E:\ofm11g\wlserver_10.3 contained two files: .home and .product.properties. After I copied these from a different server and edited to fit my environment, I was able to successfully install this patch.

Oracle VM Server 2.2 Install Problems (Management Info Screen Skipped)?
Hi,
I am new to Oracle VM Server and I basically following the install guide to install the server on a spare machine we have in the office (a relatively new Dell with an i7 processor and 8gb memory) so we can evaluate it and play with it a bit.
When running the install from a bootable CD everything goes as expected and documented in the install guide up to point number "11. The Oracle VM Management Interface screen is displayed." - when we install it skips these screens and jumps directly to step "15. TimeZone Selection."
We continued with the install but when the VM Server comes up we have no network enabled?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
BrenHi BOF,
if the network screen is not displayed during installation, the network card could not correctly be identified, and it may be that the network drivers are not installed.
If you are lucky, the network is still detected and working, but not with the correct drivers.
Did you use OVM Server 2.2. or the latest 2.2.1 (which includes some more network card detections?).
Otherwise I recommended getting the correct network drivers for the card and installing them after the server is running.
Keep in mind, that OVM Server 2.2 is based on OEL 5.3 (respectivly RHEL 5.3) if you are looking for the correct drivers.
Maybe this thread on realtek network cards can give you some more information:

Changing Weblogic Server properties without restarting Weblogic Server
I have an application that requires a few things to be set at the start of the
Weblogic server (email addresses, criteria settings, etc.). These are contained
in a properties file that is referenced in the Weblogic properties file. The
problem is when I want to make a change in the application property file (change
an email address, increment a criteria) I have to "reboot" the Weblogic server.
These defeats the whole purpose of property files. Is there anyway to get Weblogic
to "recache" the properties files without a Weblogic server "reboot"?
Thanks,
BryanI very much doubt that you would be able to refresh the WebLogic properties
file at run-time (is this WebLogic 5.1 or 6.0 you are talking a about?).
If you want to be able to update properties run-time (as opposed to
boot-time) then don't use WebLogic's property file - use either your own
properties file or store the properties elsewhere such as in the database or
in JNDI. You will of course have to implement your own refresh algorithm.
If you are using EJBs then a simple READ-ONLY entity bean with a refresh
period of a few seconds may suffice.

WebLogic Server: 10.3.5.0 - Managed stuck in STARTING
Hi all. I have a managed stuck in STARTING for like 2 hours, the logs are these:

It's creating a log ot .TMP files under the managed tmp. There is a way to speed up or elude this "recover"? Please note that I'm quite noob with Weblogic.
Thanks!Hi,
Add -Dweblogic.StdoutDebugEnabled flag while starting the managed server and then post the verbose error message in your next post
For setting the flag follow the below steps
If your using Linux box and not using node manager to start the managed server, add the below line startManagedWebLogic.sh file
JAVA_OPTIONS="-Dweblogic.StdoutDebugEnabled=true ${JAVA_OPTIONS}"
echo "JAVA_OPTIONS=${JAVA_OPTIONS}"
If your using Windows box and not using node manager to start the managed server, add the below line startManagedWebLogic.cmd file
set JAVA_OPTIONS=-Dweblogic.StdoutDebugEnabled=true %JAVA_OPTIONS%
echo JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS%
If you are starting the Managed server through the node manager then use these flags From Admin console : servers >>>. MS1 >>>> server start >>>> Arguments :-Dweblogic.StdoutDebugEnabled=true

Migrating from Oracle Application Server or WebSphere to WebLogic Server
Does anyone know of any documentation about migrating applications from WebSphere 6.1 or OAS 10.1.3.3 to WebLogic 10.3tp? I found some old (circa 2005) documents, but I doubt they will help much.
Thanks,
LeonaPlease refer to the following url:
http://www.sun.com/migration/sunonetools.html
This should give u a head start on what needs to be done and how,. WIth respect to webserver , i guess you can use it or leave it depending on the architecture you require to deploy your solution.
Hope this helps ! -
Deploy Oracle Mobile Server on Weblogic?
Hello,
We currently have a client-server application which communicates over HTTP with a BEA Weblogic 8 server on Solaris, and are assessing the feasibility of creating an offline client using Oracle Lite.
Ideally, we would like to install the mobile-server on our existing server, but this brings the problem that the current weblogic is already listening on the HTTP port, and the site policy at our customer site does not allow for any traffic to non-HTTP ports. Can we deploy the Oracle mobile server within this same Weblogic instance, or do we have to acquire a new server machine, which will then run only the mobile server?
Appreciate any information which can be provided.
Best wishes,
RoshanThe simple answer is no. Oracle Mobile Server is designed to run under a OC4J container. Can you use a port like 8080?
I am currently working on this setup and we split the application servers Weblogic and Oracle AS. -

64bit weblogic server installation on windows
Hi,
We are trying to install 64bit Oracle weblogic Server 10.3.2 on windows 2007 Server. As per the documentation, The installation requires 64bit java installation and then execute the wl_1032_server.jar file.
We installed weblogic Server successfully and did not find any errors while installing the weblogic server. We created one Managed Server with the default options. We are able to start the Admin Server with out any problems.
But we are unable to start the managed weblogic server and we are getting the following error message while starting the managed webserver.
I have also tried with setting the following memory args also. But I am getting the same error in the managedserver log files.

Thanks and Regards,
S R PrasadThanks,
You are right and I've found a documentation below. Did you checked your Environment Variables or try to use full path of 64 bit Java installation?
How do I select between 32 and 64-bit operation? What's the default? The options -d32 and -d64 have been added to the Java launcher to specify whether the program is to be run in a 32 or 64-bit environment. On Solaris these correspond to the ILP32 and LP64 data models, respectively. Since Solaris has both a 32 and 64-bit J2SE implementation contained within the same installation of Java, you can specify either version. If neither -d32 nor -d64 is specified, the default is to run in a 32-bit environment.
Other Java commands (javac, javadoc, etc.) will rarely need to be executed in a 64-bit environment. However, the -d32/-d64 options may be passed to these commands and then on to the Java launcher using the established -J prefix option (eg: -J-d64).
All other platforms (Windows and Linux) contain separate 32 and 64-bit installation packages. If both packages are installed on a system, you select one or the other by adding the appropriate "bin" directory to your path. For consistency, the Java implementations on Linux accept the -d64 option.

Coherence Error at the time of Starting weblogic Server
Hi ,
I am getting below error at the time of starting Weblogic OSB managed server
We are using osb_cluster1 (Unicast) for osb_server1 managed server.
When Weblogic server try to start the managed server we get following Coherence errors and startup scripts try to point to Oracle Coherence 3.6.0.4.(its mainly happening in starting osb_server1 managed server, this error is not appearing during soa_server1 managed server start)
We don't want to use the coherence at all, we are trying to disable the coherence feature, but hardly getting any success in it, every time during server start-up following error appears.

In WL console while setting up cluster I have given Messaging
Mode to Unicast,
By default Multicast address and ports comes up
Multicast Address - 239.192.0.0,
Multicast Port- 7001
I have modified the override file but still getting given error logs while server startup and its trying to look for override file in Oracle Coherence 3.6.0.4/coherence.jar
<!DOCTYPE coherence SYSTEM ""coherence.dtd"">

<!-- By default, this is using a multicast listener for cluster discovery, etc.
If you wish to use a unicast listener:
- update the entries in /coherence/unicast-listener/well-known-addresses/socket for each member of the cluster
(or specify the corresponding system properties)
- set the /coherence/unicast-listener/address to the host name of this machine
See http://coherence.oracle.com/display/COH35UG/well-known-addresses for more details. -->
