Oracle Workflow for owb10g2

I need to install a OWF 2.6.4 for OWB 10g2 on DB 10g Release 2.
where can I find a download for software and a documentation??
is it implicit installed by App Server?

The Workflow software is included in the 10g database pack. If you are downloading the zip files, you need the Companion DVD which I think is number three in the set of available files.
Unzip the file and run the installed on the same machine as your target database instance. Install the Workflow part (option 2 in the list of possible installation options) into your existing 10g database home.
Once the install is complete, goto ORACLE_HOME/wf/install and run wfinstall.csh on unix or wfinstall.bat on Windows. This will launch the installer for Workflow that will create the Workflow user. For the connection settings on the Workflow installer watch out for syntax. The screen seems to indicate you can use a TNSNAMES entry, however, I have only managed to get this to work by providing a JDBC format string "hostname:port:sid".
Once the OWF_MGR user has been created you can then register that user as an OWB repository user using the normal OWB Repository wizard.
Hope this helps

    Raja,
We're having some difficulty getting the StockQuote demo working with the latest OW4J Preview release. We get the demo web page to appear but are not sure how to set Owner, ItemKey, and UserKey such that we don't get the following errors when we click "Run Workflow". Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers,

  • Need Software of Oracle Workflow for Oracle 9i v2 (9.2.0.5)

    Hi,
I want to download Oracle Workflow 2.6.2. Where is the software located on the Oracle download site?
What is the version of Oracle workflow that can be used (integrated) with Oracle 9i Release 2 (9.2.0.5).
Can I install Oracle Workflow as a standalone product.

    user9309315 wrote:
The inventory file is showing (as last timestamp) the date on which I upgraded the EBSDEV database. So there is no corruption.
Besides - I am looking for some help here - not being told what is wrong. For some reason the oracle home you are looking for does not exist in the Inventory. I do not know of a way to easily add it back, but I do not think all is lost either. ;)
Since you have already upgrade the binaries of the other Oracle Homes you could copy the set of patched binaries to the Oracle Home that is not in the inventory. You will have to run the cat upgrade scripts on the four databases though.
Once you upgrade to 10g you can use OUI to clone one of the oracle homes that a appear in the inventory to same location of the missing home to add it back into the inventory.

  • HTMLDB and Workflows - pl/flow, Oracle Workflow or BPEL?

    Hi,
I am looking for a workflow engine to integrate with HTMLDB for workflow applications.
Most of the stuff I try to do will happen in the database (as of now).
Which one should I choose? Which one is easy to use (intuitive, good samples)?
I haven't used any of those, which is the fastest to learn?
Can I graphically model the workflows with pl/flow, so that they can be modified by administrators later?
What about the future? It seems to me that many links to Oracle Workflow seem to disappearing from OTN.
I find pl/flow interesting, but is it used a lot? Is there still development going on?
Any experiences / suggestions will be helpful. Or perhaps you use something completely different?
    Thanks,
    ~Dietmar.

    Hi Bob,
    thanks for thoughts on this.
I was in touch with the lead developer of pl/flow and he explained that there was not much to add since the package was XPDL interface 2 compliant and most of the users were happy with it.
You can even import workflows from XPDL visual workflow modelers which has some charme, since it is standards based.
I was reluctant to use Oracle Workflow for several reasons.
    * It appears to be complex
    * It is not standards based
    * The administration interface looks "aged" (that lead me to believe that Oracle had not much interest in further promoting the product)
    * I don't know where the product is heading since BPEL is the big hype and the development of Oracle's former Java based workflow product is being stopped.
The cost shouldn't be an issue since it is included in the database license as far as I have researched.
I would be interested in all developer experiences using Oracle Workflow with HTMLDB or other tools.
Is perhaps the HTMLDB - developer team working on an integration with Oracle Workflow?
    Thanks,
    ~Dietmar.

  • Process Flow Deployment using Oracle workflow

    Hi,
If I have my own Process Flow in XPDL, can I deploy it to the Oracle workflow? I couldn't find any doc regarding how Oracle workflow (standalone) imports XPDL file.
Is the Oracle workflow packaged with the OWB comes with some adapter that understand the XPDL process flow?
I have an application that may output process flows in XPDL, and I want to deploy them to Oracle workflow for processing. How do I do that?
    Thanks,
    Denny

    Hi,
I´ve used it in 2 system as a DM. It works fine. But I have to say that they were a small project.
OWF is a very robust and easy tool. I´ve never need to look for another workflow because OWF always cover my project. When it doesn´t, I´m able to change some pl/sql procedures to make it attend project requirements.
I can advice you that if you want a personalized user interface, you are going to spend more time doing it than developing your workflow. but if you don´t need to personalize user interface, so it is very easy do develop and deploy a workflow.
    Any doubt just ask.

  • Calling Shell script activity in Oracle Workflow.?

    Hi,
I am using Oracle Workflow for executing OWB Mappings.
I also defined user defined activities to call shell scripts. It is working fine
But whenver the shell script executes for more than one day, work flow is not proceeding further even though, the shell script execution completed.
I have to manually skip that activity as success.
Did anyone face this type of problem?

    Hi Matt,
I have seen your previous replies to the posts.
I think, the problem which I am getting is may be with TIMEOUT. Once the day crosses, the even the shell activity is completed, the workflow is not recognizing its completion.
I am using Oracle Warehouse builder. In I am using process flow editor to create workflows.
I verified for the options of changing timeouts. I couldnot able to get any.
Could you please help me, How I could set those values in backend.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thank you,

  • Replacing Oracle WorkFlow

    Hi,
The client, I am working for don't want to use Oracle Workflow for some reason.
But I need Oracle Workflow Manager Schema to deploy my Process flows. So is there a way to deploy the Process flows without the Oracle Workflow Manager Schema? Is there any script which can do that?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Harsha

Hello, OWB process flows can be run in an XPDL compliant workflow engine, if you deploy to XML and then load the generated files. The question is, with what do you want to replace Oracle Workflow... You can even run a sequence of mappings directly without any workflow software, maybe through a shell script or a stored procedure, but this works only if you don't have complex flows.
If you need more info about the XPDL standard and other workflow engines (open source and commercial), see www.wfmc.org.
    Hope this helps - Antonio

  • Oracle Workflow 2.6 with Oracle 8.1.7 for linux

Is Oracle Workflow Server 2.6 available for Linux as a
standalone product against an Oracle 8.1.7 database?
Oracle Workflow does not seem to be included in the Integration

  • How to use java api for function activity in embed oracle workflow?

because i can't install standalone oracle workflow successfully.
pls tell me how to use java api for function activity in embed oracle workflow?
are there some patch or pulg-in package?
    ths a lot...........

The Java Function Activity Agent is not certified for Oracle Workflow embedded in Oracle Applications. Installing standalone workflow should be a lot easier than what you have found, although it looks like you did hit a Pentium 4 issue with the Oracle Universal Installer. I suggest you contact Oracle Support or Oracle Consulting for assistance.

  • R11:RECEIVED ERROR MESSAGES FOR AP INVOICE APPROVAL IN ORACLE WORKFLOW

    Hi All,
    We have this error:
    ### Detailed Problem Statement ###
Received the following error messages in sysadmin notifications:
    Event Error Name: 100
Event Error Message: ORA-01403: no data found
    Event Error Stack: HZ_DQM_SYNC>REALTIME_SYNCH(oracle.apps.ar.hz.DQM.realtimesync,
    30665979B704AE043C0A81404B04A)
    Event Error Name: WFE_DISPATCH_RULE_ERR
    Event Error Message: [WFE_DISPATCH_RULE_ERR] ENAME=oracle.apps.ap.payment EKEY=10001
    RULE=ap_payment_event_wf_pfg.rule_function SQLCODE=100 SQLERRM=ORA-01403: no
    data found
    Event Error Stack: WF_Event.dispatch_internal()
In addition, during the set-up of Oracle Approvals Management, there was no available list of
values in the Notification Style in the workflow configurator page.
    Action Plan
    =======
    1) Confirm if the workflow is customized in any way.
    2) Confirm whether you are able to select global preferences for the other invoices approval, meaning are you
getting the list of values for the other invoices.
There are no workflow customizations. We are trying to implement it to AP invoice
    approval only.
Can you instruct me on how to test this one? I thought I could only select the global preferences from the workflow configuration window. And there are no distinction as to which invoice approval
process it is applicable. Where could I select the global preferences for other
    invoices approval?
    Thanks a lot

thanks hussein , but still we can not see LOV values even if we inserted data manually...:(
But it has improved and we moved on to another error which is:
*****received the error message:3120: Activity 'APINV/52822' has no performer
    ### Problem description or inquiry details ###
    Received the following error message:
    Error Message
3120: Activity 'APINV/52822' has no performer.
    Error Stack
    Wf_Engine_Util.Notification_Send(APINV, 115191_1, 52822, APINV:APINV_MRA) Wf_Engine_Util.Notification(APINV, 115191_1, 52822, RUN)
    Encountered the following:
No list of values in the notification style field in the global configuration region in the Workflow Configuration Page
Please note that we could not update the workflow configuration page using the forms because there
is no list of values to select in the above-mentioned field. We just recently
changed the workflow administrator role from SYSADMIN to KCAALIM to reduce
changing of user log-in. We have previously used the sysadmin user log-in to
access the workflow configuration page. there was still no list of values for
the notification style. we changed the wf admin role to kcaalim using the sql:
    udpate wf_resources set text = 'KCAALIM' where name like 'WF_ADMIN_ROLE';
    Commit;
Hence, changing of wf admin role and user log-in (to sysadmin) won't help (just in case you would advise me to do so) since we tried it
    already.
    ### Responsibility and navigational paths to reproduce ###
    1. set-up the AME for ap invoice approval.
    2. test an actual transaction.
    3. when the list is generated, set-up workflow for AP approval.
when setting up the configuration page, there is no list of values available for the notification style. hence the workflow
    configuration could not be updated.
    4. Run the required programs (i.e., synchronizations)
    5. run the approval workflow from the developer studio page.
    6. review the status from the Status Monitor page.
    7. The error message appears
    8. payables, create a sample invoice.
    9. validate and initiate approval.
    10. review the approval history to find out the required approver. (the approver's name appears with 0 amount of approval)
    11. check the notifications in the required approver's worklist.
    12. there are no notifications sent.

    Hi,
I checked in dba_user and do not find owf_mgr in it so I created owf_user and grant himexecute any procedure and a role owb_user.
When I did not get table wf_resources in owf_mgr schema, I try to run wfinstall.bat on stand alone owb 11.2.
