Oracle10g Jdbc Drivers issue with EJB on Weblogic 7

Hi there,
We are facing a critical issue on production environment related to Oracle jdbc drivers.
We have a J2EE application with swing client. We are using MVC framework where client calls go to stateless session bean which redirect it to specific POJO which then uses Entity Beans for persistence.
We have following environment.
JDK1.4.2, Weblogic 7 with SP5, Oracle10g on AIX 5.2
Now the problem is that we were using Oracle 8 jdbc driver classes12.zip for our application. Everything was working smoothly. Recently we moved our weblogic and oracle Servers machines locations, after that movement we started to get an exception when weblogic initializing connection pool that makes connection to a different oracle10g database. Oracle supports ask us to upgrade the jdbc driver. So we moved to 10g driver ojdbc14.jar but during testing one functionality is failing with a exception where rest of application seems to be working fine. The exception occurs when we try to post a record and during the creation of a child entity bean the transactions rollback for some unknown reasons. Using the old oracle8 classes12.zip driver the same code working fine again. We have also tried the classes12.zip driver of Oracle10g but error persist. I have checked the code and deployment descriptors but they seems fine. If i comment the creation of that particular entity bean the parent bean get created successfully and transaction commit successfully. Please also note that we have not created any relation b/w both entity beans not even in the database. They both are sort of independent.
Can any one having any idea why Oracle10g driver not working or what might be the problem with our configuration. Any help will be highly appreciated. Please see the Exception below.

weblogic 7? when the current production version is 10.2?
don't play yourself. fund a project to upgrade your weblogic version.
can't tell based on what you've posted, and I fear that the stuff you'll have to post to get an answer here will be too much. this isn't a good place to come for an answer.

  • Issue with bringing up Weblogic 10.3 after changing username passcode

I am facing Issue with bringing up Weblogic 10.3 after changing username passcode in security realm Madhok, basically i have removed the default weblogic user and defined m,y own custome user and provide the credentials in the server start tab. When i try and bring up the admin server it comes up fine but the managed servers fail to start from admin console and i can see security credentials authentication error in logs? Why would that be considering the admin server is able to come up with the same credentials.

We had similar problem in the past, our problem was:
    Problem:
We deleted weblogic default user from security realm and create new user when node manager and the managed servers were down. When we tries to bring up the managed servers after starting node manager we kept getting authentication denied errors.
    Solution:
Recreate weblogic user and now try and bring up managed servers from command line using weblogic user. Once they are up shut them down and bring them up again with the new user you have created and it will work
    Reason:
The managed servers in 10.3 seems to be storing the authentication details in there local managed servers ldap or cache. When you start the managed servers the don't know the new credentials and are authenticating against older values of stored credentials, hence they fail. Once they are started with the old credentials they communicate with admin servers to sync there cache with admin servers and the new credentials gets updated and from then on you can restart the managed servers with new credentials.
Note: Sometimes after restart you may face the problem as the sync process with admin server is asynchornous, weblogic prints a line saying something like Performing async operation with server address null. If the line gets printed sync has happened and you are good. In case you don't see the line restart again and you will see the line after which you can restart with new credentials.

  • JDBC Drivers Issue.

    Hi All,
I am working on PI 7.0 with JDK version 1.4.2.12 for a File to JDBC scenario.
Here our destination Database is Oracle 8.1.7
Now while deploying the drivers for the JDBC drivers from the following Oracle site:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html
    we are having following Issues:
    1. The Drivers for the Oracle database i.e availaible on the Oracle site for Oracle 8.1.7 supports only JDK version 1.2 and 1.3. So is it advisable to use these drivers?
    2. If we use any higher version of driver say 10.2.0.1.0 (Currently we are using the same) that supports the JDK version 1.4 will it be downward compatible to Oracle 8.1.7 ?
    3. Can we have two different JDK versions for the same XI servers ? Here I mean to say that can we have JDK 1.2 as well as JDK 1.4 for same XI server and if so please share the proper procedure.
Actually all these issues arised because we are using JDBC driver 10.2.0.1.0 but we are getting problems as below:
After every sometime say around an hour the XI server restarts automatically, but JDBC adapter services stop and do not start with the start of XI server, we have to start the services manually. So here we are considering that there could be some problem with the JDBC drivers.
Plz provide your valuable information in these issues.
    Regards,
    Rookie.

    1. The Drivers for the Oracle database i.e availaible on the Oracle site for Oracle 8.1.7 supports only JDK version 1.2 and 1.3. So is it advisable to use these drivers?
*If you use Oracle8.1.7 You should have Classes12.jar driver in visual admin *
    JDBC Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Connection: jdbc:oracle:thin:@<server IP>:<port>:<DataSource name>
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/bdd6a690-0201-0010-238a-9c95a5fb6f6c
    2. If we use any higher version of driver say 10.2.0.1.0 (Currently we are using the same) that supports the JDK version 1.4 will it be downward compatible to Oracle 8.1.7 ?
You should have OJDBC14.jar driver in visual admin if you use Oracle 10
    JDBC Driver: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Connection: jdbc:oracle:thin:@<server IP>:<port>:<DataSource name>
    3. Can we have two different JDK versions for the same XI servers ? Here I mean to say that can we have JDK 1.2 as well as JDK 1.4 for same XI server and if so please share the proper procedure
No you should have only one JDK version for same XI server.

  • Latest nVidia 310.90 drivers issues with Premiere CS6

    Hey guys,
I'm currently running the GTX590 with 306.97 drivers and any later drivers have proven to not work with Premiere CS6.
I understand Premiere has issues with SLI and can only utilize a single GPU, but if I update  the drivers to anything later than 306.97, my preview window goes blank during playback. Audio is working and After Effects preview works just fine, but Premiere has issues with displaying video during playback.
The main reason I wanted to update  the nVidia drivers is for better gameplay, but seeing that i cannot edit in Premiere because of that, i have reverted back to 306.97.
Does anyone have suggestions with regards to getting the latest drivers to work with Premiere CS6?
    Thanks!

They work fine for me on Win 8.  But I don't have SLI.

That appears to be a bug in the console. You might try the command-line tool java weblogic.Deployer for deploying apps. java weblogic.Deployer -examples will give detailed usage info.

  • PI 7.0 - jdbc receiver issue with MS SQL Server

    Hello Experts,
I have a jdbc receiver scenario on PI 7.0 for just one table on MS SQL Server and I'm using the update_insert action.
When the entry does not exist it is created normally and returns insert_count=1 and update_count=0.
When the entry already exists, it's generated the statements for insert and for update (the 2 statements are visible on RWB) and returns insert_count=0 and update_count=0.
Any error occurs and in the RWB the log shows the request was processed with success.
I've already enabled the log for sql statements on the channel, but the statements are correct.
I've reviewed also the <key> tag on the mapping and it's ok.
Any suggestion to try fix this issue?
    Thank you very much.

Can you please check in the database the format of the specified fields in the update statement. Sometime we can have situations that the insert works but the subsequent update fails. An example:
Suppose key field1 value being passed from XI is  '1234' in characters but in db it is stored as '00001234'.

  • Issue with applet and Weblogic 8.1 SP3

    Hello,
I have an applet that is making EJB calls to a Weblogic 8.1 SP2 app server via an IIS web server. The weblogic.ejbc tool was used to generate the stubs and skeletons and deployed into the applet.jar. The applet comes up fine in this scenario. But when this applet is connected to a Weblogic 8.1 SP3 app server it failes to come up. Apparently, there is some dependency between the ejbc generated stubs and skeletons with the service pack that is being used. One way of solving this problem is to generate separate stubs and skeletons for each service pack but I would like to avoid doing this and would like it to be transparent to the applet. Is there any configuration that I can make which can help solve this problem ?
    -Vijay

You could check up for the relaease. I don't think there was such a change in SP3. But generating the stubs and skeletons again will definitely solve. You might even test it backwards (generate on SP3 and test on SP2).

  • JDBC connection issue with multiple DBs on same instance

I have two databases on one sql server 2012 instance.  One called 'demotime' the other called 'demotime_dev'.  how ever when I change in my JDBC connection the DB from demotime to demotime_dev.  the connection still remains established with
the demotime, is there any known reason to cause this? does both being on the same instance have anything to do with the problem?

Do your application may send a "USE [demotime]" command to Switch to the database? Do you may use a config file in your application where the database is still pointing to the other database?

    Column Name Delimiter
Depending on the database being used, column names can be enclosed by a special delimiter character, for example, if the names can contain special characters (such as ”). This character can be specified at this point. The default setting is no delimiter character. If a character occurs that is invalid for the database being used, the adapter triggers an error message (an SQL exception) concerning the SQL syntax that is generated by the database.

  • Issues with interoperability between Weblogic 12 and Weblogic 8.1

Hi, I'm experiencing issues trying to perform a JNDI lookup from Weblogic 12C to a Weblogic 8.1 Weblogic instance.  The error I am receiving is:

can you set the domain sensor logger to debug on the windows installation and post the log file results for the problematic case? For the default domain, this would be the default.collaxa.cube.sensor logger (accessible from the manage bpel domain link in the upper right hand corner of the console and then the logging subtab). The log messages appear in the orabpel/domains/<domain name>/logs/domain.log file.

  • Microsoft DBF Drivers issue with Windows Embedded 7

Error while running application "ODBC Driver, Microsoft dBase Driver(*.dbf) no found.
Is this the bug with 32 bit of Windows please help me on it

is "Windows Data Access Components" part of your image? This is required for generic ODBC support (and also may provide drivers for some basic ODBC database types).
DBF seems to be related to FoxPro databases, check your configuration in ODBC administrator:
My "common" WES7 has a "Microsoft FoxPro VFP Driver (*.dbf)" -> VFPODBC.DLL. Is this driver present in your image (is part of the component I mentoined before)?
Next: Did you set up some data sources for such databases? Check the settings for "User DSN", "System DSM" and "File DSN" and verify them against a system that does not have this problem.

  • Need information on Weblogic JDBC drivers

    Hi,
I have been using Weblogic 8.1 sp5 with oracle version -Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production.
Lately i have observed the below error:-
    <Jun 2, 2009 9:56:58 PM MEST> <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001112> <Test "SELECT 1 FROM DUAL" set up for pool "WIS03 JDBC Connection Pool" failed with exception: "java.sql.SQLException: OALL8 is in an inconsistent state.".>
This may be linked to the JDBC drivers used with weblogic.
At weblogic console i can see the list of drivers as - Oracle Driver (Thin) Versions.9.0.1,9.2.0,10
Is this driver good for the Oracle version 10 g?
I am clueless for the above exception. Please suggest.
    Thanks & Regards

    Thanks Joe.
I have found the latest ojdbc.jar, below are the detials mentioned about this jar in the manifest.mf:-
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4) JDBC Drivers
Specification-Title: Oracle JDBC driver classes for use with JDK14
    Sealed: true
    Created-By: 1.4.2_14 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)

    Specification-Version: Oracle JDBC Driver version - "10.2.0.4.0"
    Implementation-Version: Oracle JDBC Driver version - "10.2.0.4.0"
    Implementation-Vendor: Oracle Corporation
    Implementation-Time: Sat Feb 2 11:40:29 2008
Now the issue is with respect to the Java_version used for this jar which is 1.4.2_14 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
but my weblogic server uses jdk142_08.
I have done quick tests after replacing the jar from the server/lib directory and seems no issue but can the differences in Java version lead to potential issues in future?

But it doesn't list the server while deploying the application.
I don't see the issue in my office network. But I encounter this problem when I work at my home.
Ideally it should show the following lines after server is started:
    DefaultServer startup time: 195467 ms.
    DefaultServer started.
This is not happening if i run the server without network.
How can I fix this problem?
    Thanks
    Ravi

I see some message about a proxy. Have you checked that you can use the proxy from you network?
If not you should turn the proxy off.

  • OAS and using JDBC-drivers from EJB

    Hi.
I have a problem with accessing the database from EJB-components
deployed to OAS 4.0.8. The database is 8.1.5-version. I'm trying
to use a connection exactly like it is documented in OAS-EJB-
documents, the connection string looks like this:
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection
    ("jdbc:oracle:jts8:@ora8i");
And this is the error that above sentence it generates:
"Sub Protocol must be specified in connection URL".
The DAD(ora8i) is created in OAS.
Now, I don't even know if this uses JDBC/OCI or thin since the
    documented connection-string doesn't contain that information. I
quess it must use OCI-drivers, at least I should use them and
they should be installed with OAS.
    So:
    * I should use only jts-enabled JDBC-drivers when developing EJB-
    components, is this right?
    * How can I connect to the database (from OAS 4.0.8 to Oracle
    8i), the string please?
    Thanks,
