Oracle8i ORA-03133 Message Error!

Hi everyone,
After installation Oracle8i into Solaris8, I run ./svrmgrl command to connect to database.
The below error message is returned after I enter 'startup' command:
ORA-03133 : end-of-file on communication channel.
Please help me what it means and how to fix it.
Thanks in advance,
Tuan

I assume that you have logged on as oracle user and not root. After running ./svrmgrl are you saying connect internal and then startup. If not try it .
end-of-file on communication channel error comes if the database goes down even temporarily (Basically when you lose the connection)
I guess it is of some help.

  • ORA-06510 Message error in Process Modeller Designer

    HI
    I'M DAVE
I HAVE SOME PROBLEMS USING DESIGNER 6i.
I log on to Windows Designer tools then I open Process Modeller Tool and I try to modify the previuous model process but, when I add a new process in the previous PM1 SATISFY CUSTOMER ORDER diagram, the GUI for Process Modeller is crashed, and displays the next message: ORA-06510.
I really don't know the reason. The error message manuals tells me I should answer to the DBA.
    ANY BODY CAN HELP ME?
    THANK YOU

I have found this problem myself,
the only workaround I found is to not run more that 5 mappings in parallel.
I speculate that this is caused by the amount off cursors that are opened to run everything in parallel,
If so, you might try to increase the parallel settings of your database.

  • Message error ORA-00936 when using JDBC adapter

    Hi all,
    I'm using the folow scenario:
    RFC --> XI --> JDBC
RFC <-- XI <-- JDBC (response)
    It's a SYNCHRONOUS interface.
    RFC call without COMMIT WORK:
    CALL FUNCTION 'Y_TESTE_NEI'
        DESTINATION 'RFC_XI'
    EXPORTING
       DATE_FROM       =  v_data_from
       DATE_TO         =  v_data_to
      TABLES
        t_return        = t_dados.
I'm not using KEY in JDBC message, because for test I want to get entiry table, and I set the communication channel JDBC to KEY not mandatory.
I'm not having mapping error, in SXMB_MONI I can see the two messages of interface, but both with SYSTEM ERROR.
In JDBC adapter in Runtime Workbench apears the follow message error:
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 't7_productionorder' (structure 't7_productionorder'): java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00936: missing expression
And DUMP in function call in R/3: CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR
Could anyone help me about this problem ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regis Ferrato

    Hi Regis,
I did the same scenario just now. The error you get is, you need to check whether the fields you are entering into the database have correct datatypes.
Check out your database structure with your structure in XI, and also test in Message Mapping, to make sure you are sending correct values.
In my case I was sending date like this '10-12-06', but my DB accepts only '101206'. So I removed the '-'. It was fine .
The Dumping error is not due to your ABAP, due to the DB operation.
Let me know Whether I am correct.
    Raj.

    Dma.

    Hello Daniela,
you try to perform an offline backup (which is a very uncommon way nowadays) and your SAP system is not down.
This is also described in the official documentation:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm32/helpdata/en/0d/d309664a0c11d182b80000e829fbfe/content.htm
offline: Database backup in offline mode, in other words, the database is shut down during backup. When you select this parameter, BRBACKUP checks that no SAP system users are connected to the database. If an SAP System is active, the database is not shut down and BRBACKUP terminates the process with an error message (message number BR0068E).

  • IR Report Search - ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00936: missing expression

    Hi All,
I had created a IR report based on a table and it was working with no issues.  But after few days, when I try searching using the IR search bar it shows "ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00936: missing expression" error message. I don't see any debug messages or errors in the debug window. The Finder drop down is empty too, there are no columns displayed to filter.
When I recreate the IR report(new page) based on the same table, It works fine and there are no issues with the search.  But the old IR report search doesnt work. I have not modified the any thing in the old report after initial creation. Report uses Primary key based on a sequence.
What might have caused this issue?
Is there a way to intercept the search query from IR report?
    Apex version - 4.2.3.00.08.
    Any help on this appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jagan

Hi MK, as I had mentioned in my post, I don't see any logs in the debug window, query tab.
Can you please guide me how to check the query logs on search?

I saw the following at http://oracledocs.shu.ac.uk/local/personalOracleInstallation/w2k-10g/readme.101/README_rdbms.htm
    "Bug 3392439
Row Access Method problem: DML statements may fail with ORA-00600 [kcbget_24], ORA-00600 [kcbgtcr_5], or ORA-00600 [kcbgcur_3] error messages. The DML on an Index-Organized Table (IOT) that has one or more secondary index may fail with ORA-00600, fail with an access violation, or it may cause modification of rows in objects that are not associated with the target IOT.
    Workaround:
Set hidden parameter _db_cache_pre_warm to false in init.ora to avoid pre-warming behavior in buffer cache. Alternatively, use ALTER SYSTEM FLUSH BUFFER_CACHE."
Even though my tables are not index organized, the bug seems related to my problem since the "ALTER SYSTEM FLUSH BUFFER_CACHE' provides a temporary fix. It's not a permanent fix because the ORA-600 error reappears in later operations.
For a permanent fix I tried setting the hidden parameter mentioned, but it wouldn't take.

    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-02095: specified initialization parameter cannot be modifiedAny ideas on how I can fix the problem?

Looks like I spoke too soon. The error is back.
The problem might be related to a foreign key to an index organized table (IOT) that SSCM_CONTENT has. I converted the IOT to a regular table and was then able to perform the INSERT without receiving the ORA-00600. Let's hope it's gone for good.
I sure would like to be able to use IOT's on Oracle XE though. I'd appreciate hearing if there are any workarounds or fixes other than the two already mentioned.

ORA-00600 12333 usually means there was a communications error between the client and server. If you kill a session or perform a shutdown while a users connected you could potentially get this error. There's other reasons too. I think you're probably right that Oracle support will tell you to upgrade if you file a TAR with them.
Did this error crash your database or does it happen frequently? If the answer is no then I wouldn't worry about it unless the end user has said something about it. If this is a problem then I'd contact Oracle support.
I'm also running 8.1.7.2 and get maybe 1-2 of these errors a month from the same PC. In our case this error didn't correspond with a database shutdown or a killed session. We also tried reinstalling the client software and this didn't fix it either. I think our error may be because of this one PC being on a very old part of our network that probably needs upgrading.

It has got an index. That index initial segemnt was disabled when I look thru DBA studio.
If anybody knows solution to this, please let me know.

Yes. Analyze table creates this problem. Fortunately I could rename this table. (Thanks to Oracle Technical support.) It solves the problem.
