Orchestrator connection to DB

Hi all.
I'm facing the following problem during installation of orchestrator:
The internal procedures of a company I'm installing CIAC 3.1.1 at do not allow me to grant public access to all the objects I need to make the orchestrator service run. I'm using a dedicated Oracle database and the db admin revoked public access to the object DBMS_LOB (as an internal procedure, they always revoke public access to this and other objects, even if this is a dedicated database).
The user I created for installing orchestrator is called oradba. Even if the administrator grants oradba access to DBMS_LOB, I still have a problem with it:
ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PL/SQL: Statement ignored ---> Devart.Data.Oracle.OracleException: ORA-06550: line 1, column 14:
PLS-00201: identifier 'DBMS_LOB' must be declared
ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PL/SQL: Statement ignored
(a java stack trace follows)
So: is there any other user I must grant access to this object ? I tried granting access to public (which is not allowed due to the company's rules) and it works. Granting access to oradba only does not work. Is that enough to conclude that we have to grant access to some other user ? Any hints on which user that would be ?
Thanks for your support

We need to investigate the issue.  Can you open a TAC case with these details?
Whether the DB scripts were run manually or thru' installer
If installed manually, name the script that generated the error.
If done thru' installer, attach the MSI log

  • System Center Orchestrator connectivity with System Center Operations Manager

    Hi,
    I am trying to connect my SCORCH setup with my SCOM server. When I enter the SCOM Server Name or IP Address, Domain, USer id, and Password in the Connectivity Prompt of SCORCH, and click on TEST Connections, I see a red error prompt with the labl error
    and nothing written on it. the user id has rights on both SCORCH and SCOM environment.
    Is there a log file that I can refer to validate the exact error  that is happening when I connectin SCORCH with SCOM?
    Thanks

    Stefan is right.
    You need to install the OM Console
    "Install the Operations Manager console on each computer where an Orchestrator Runbook server or Runbook Designer is installed, if that server needs to interact with Operations
    Manager"

  • Creating a connection to Orchestrator from Service manager

    HI,
       i have finish installing System Center Orchestrator 2012 R2 and i was trying to integrate Configuration Manager and Service Manager with Orchestrator, however i ran into a problem when i was trying to access the Orchestrator Web Service URL
    for example  http://someserver:100/Orchestrator2012/Orchestrator.svc
    and its showing the following error for the above URL,
    Server Error in '/' Application.
    The resource cannot be found.
    Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL
    and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
    Requested URL: /Orchestrator2012/Orchestrator.svc
    Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.1
         I was wondering if there is some configurations that needs to be done on Orchestrator or did i miss something out in the installation part of the Orchestrator.
        Another question that i had was that how does the two way communication works with CM and Orchestrator directly?     How does the two way communication happens with CM and SM?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    It happens sometimes. The Orchestrator's web service isn't functional for some reasons. For your other questions I can say that SM connects to Orchestrator using the Orchestrator's web service. It seems that Orchestrator connects to SM using SM's API.

  • Could not connect to Orchestrator web service - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials

    I am trying to set up the Orchestrator Connector for Service Manager, when running the test, I get the error
     <h2>401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.</h2>
      <h3>You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.</h3>
    The account I am using is the system account for Service Manager. I have added that account to the local admin group on the Orchestrator server as well as the Orchestrator admin group. But to no avail.
    Now when I am logged on to the Orchestrator server locally with my account, I can access the Orchestration Console with no problem, however when I try to connect to it remotely using my account, it will not accept my credentials. I need to sort this out,
    can anyone help?

    I found the solution, using the IIS Manager I changed the Windows authentication providers by moving NTLM above negotiate.

    AlexCarey, I've been having issues purchasing recently and place a number of calls to the support team. On Oct. 5th, and on my own decision, I went into my itunes profile and re-entered my credit card expiration date and security code. (Notice, it is not displayed for safety measures.) Today, I received an email from Apple support verifying if I made changes made to my account. For the heck of it, I logged back into itunes; click "Buy". It's working again after three days of failure. However, diagnosis still displays "Secure link to itunes store failed". Very confusing state of affairs, lately. See my post on "Itunes dilemma"

  • Connect Cisco Process Orchestrator in IAC 4.0

    During the execution of the 'Connect Cisco Process Orchestrator' task in the Day 0 Wizard, many miss out on the underlying note to
    'Start all other agents'   Please start all other agents 2 minutes after executing connect Cisco Process Orchestrator
    thus resulting in errors in the configuration of the HTTP/WS adapter based agents, in particular the ones that communicate with CPO.
    The way this service works is the following:
    The requestor is prompted with a form to populate related info (hostname, port, URL, credentials, etc.)
    Upon ‘submit order’ the request will use the ‘REX Set HTTP Agent Properties’ to configured all the agents that need to communicate with CPO (it modifies their outbound properties).
    Once all the agents are configured, the service will pause until ‘start all other agents’ is ordered. Only then will the last step of onboarding CPO take place, where it will communicate with CPO to configure the respective targets, etc. and finalize the request.
    If you are still on task ‘Connect Cisco Process Orchestrator’, then you should be able to observer in PSC, Service Link > View Transactions the progress of the request.
    The highlighted task should be in a 'waiting' state, before you execute 'Start All Other Agents'
    In the event you have not been patient or have not read the instructions (like myself), the following is the process to get you back on track ...
    Manually:                           Stop all the agents apart from the ones starting with ‘REX’
    Manuall or Wizard Step 1:   Start DB Agent (Agent Name: Insert Default Parameters & Portal Page Assignment to OU)
    Manuall or Wizard Step 1:   Start nsAPI Agent (Agent Name: Retrieve OU ID on Name)
    Wizard Step 2:                   Connect Cisco Process Orchestrator AND WAIT/ monitor that all configurations are complete before proceeding to the next step 

  • Security package specific error occurred when trying to connect to Orchestrator with remote Runbook Designer

    When I try to connect to Orchestrator server with Runbook Designer installed on my laptop I get an error saying "A security  package specific error occurred.".
    Entry from Designer log file is below. I've tried to set error level to 3 and 7 but got no additional info about the error. I'm unable to find any details of the error on server or client side in any logs (Event Log or Orchestrator trace logs).
    Connecting to Orchestrator Management Server with local Designer installed on the server works fine.
    Orchestrator is installed in AD environment and security groups are properly configured.
    Can anybody help?

    I'm having a similar issue with one of our runbook servers. i cannot deploy any IPs to it. I get the error "A security package specific error occurred". I can open the designer on the runbook server, connect to the management server, and look at
    runbooks. They wont run on the server without the IPs though, but it doesnt seem like a connection issue. i have also tried uninstalling/re-installing the runbook server and i get the same.
    Has anybody else run into this?
    Edit:
    Heres an error fromthe event log:
    The Kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the server <Service Account>. The target name used was HOST/server.domain.domain.com. This indicates that the target server failed to decrypt the ticket provided by the client. This can
    occur when the target server principal name (SPN) is registered on an account other than the account the target service is using. Please ensure that the target SPN is registered on, and only registered on, the account used by the server. This error can also
    happen when the target service is using a different password for the target service account than what the Kerberos Key Distribution Center (KDC) has for the target service account. Please ensure that the service on the server and the KDC are both updated to
    use the current password. If the server name is not fully qualified, and the target domain (domain.domain.COM) is different from the client domain (domain.domain.COM), check if there are identically named server accounts in these two domains, or use the fully-qualified
    name to identify the server.
    So maybe I was just given the wrong account.

    Hi,

    http://hostname:81/Orchestrator2012/Orchestrator.svc/ in IE and am getting the same error while creating the connector.

  • Service Manager Connection in Orchestrator

    Hi,
    I have installed System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator on our Development environment. When I try to create a Service Manager 2012 connection (on clicking Test Connection) in Orchestrator (I am using Service Manager 2012 Integration Pack), I get a
    connection error as below:
    Connection failed. Unable to connect to the server specified. Verify connection settings are valid and retry.
    The credentials I am using are correct. Please suggest if something else would be creating the connection issue. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    You need to provide the needed permissions to the connection account in Service Manager. In the SM console create a new User Role (Advanced Operator) and add the connection account as member to the User Role.
    It could also be a firewall problem. Quick test is to disable the firewall and see if the connection succeeds.

    http://mortonor12r2:81/orchestrator2012/orchestrator.svc should be the correct address. Do you have the typo "1012" only in the question or in the connector as well?

  • Calling a Oracle stored procedure in orchestrator

    I am trying to execute a stored procedure using the query database IP in orchestrator.  I can select data from the oracle db so i know the prereqs are setup correctly but it fails on executing the stored procedure.
    The syntaxe is execute SPNAME('PARAM!','PARAM2')
    The error is
    Failed, Oracle failure Database error has occurred. ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement
    Oracle query failure, please verify your query syntax is correct.  Verify correct table names and column names etc...
    The SP works fine in sql developer so im pretty sure the syntax is correct unless the Query Database IP needs a different syntax to work.

    simple as that.  i actually tried something similar since that is how SCOM executes SP but left the execute command in there so it failed and i moved on.  thanks for the reply.
    Just for reference i went the powershell route and that worked as well but much more complicated then your solution.  for anyone that wants to know the script is
    $asm = [System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName("System.Data.OracleClient")
    $connectionString = "Data Source=TNSNAME;uid=USERID;pwd=PASSWORD";
    $inputString1 = "PARAMETER INPUT 1";
    $inputString2 = "PARAMETER INPUT 2"
    $oracleConnection = new-object System.Data.OracleClient.OracleConnection($connectionString);
    $cmd = new-object System.Data.OracleClient.OracleCommand;
    $cmd.Connection = $oracleConnection;
    $cmd.CommandText = "SP NAME";
    $cmd.CommandType = [System.Data.CommandType]::StoredProcedure;
    $cmd.Parameters.Add("NAME OF EXPECTED PARAMETER 1", [System.Data.OracleClient.OracleType]::NUMBER) | out-null;
    $cmd.Parameters["NAME OF EXPECTED PARAMETER 1"].Direction = [System.Data.ParameterDirection]::Input;
    $cmd.Parameters["NAME OF EXPECTED PARAMETER 1"].Value = $inputString1;
    $cmd.Parameters.Add("NAME OF EXPECTED PARAMETER 2", [System.Data.OracleClient.OracleType]::VARCHAR2) | out-null;
    $cmd.Parameters["NAME OF EXPECTED PARAMETER 2"].Direction = [System.Data.ParameterDirection]::Input;
    $cmd.Parameters["NAME OF EXPECTED PARAMETER 2"].Value = $inputString2;
    $oracleConnection.Open();
    $cmd.ExecuteNonQuery() | out-null;
    $oracleConnection.Close();
    got help from http://dovetailsoftware.com/clarify/gsherman/2012/05/15/calling-oracle-stored-procedures-using-powershell/

  • Getting username and password with https connection

    I have a webservice that will authenticate the user to run a http://localhost:8080/soap/services/myService, I would like to call this in a form when a user clicks a button.  So I require HTTP/s authentication on the SOAP service, and this brings up a prompt:
    Connection at http://localhost:8080/soap/services/myService requires authentication:
               Username:
               Password:
    Now on myService, I want to verify the username and password they have entered in that security prompt within my orchestration.  How can I retrieve the username/password from the Acrobat security prompt?
    If I need to clarify, please just let me know.
    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi Paul,
    That's sort of what I assumed was happening, but I'm not actually wanting to authenticate for the webservice call it seems.  I'm wanting to capture their username/password via acrobat prompt then push it along to the soap service.  So I guess via script I would want to do:
    1. prompt the user for username/password via acro-prompt (not sure how to do this)
    2. capture their input in variables (again not sure from acro-prompt)
    3. set up soap message (I can do)
    4. send data ("")
    5. receive data on LC side and use the user/password to authenticate in a database table I created ("")
    6. modify a field based on authentication allowed/denied ("")
    It doesn't necessarily have to be an actual authentication box, but I just want a username/password prompt so I can get those values.
    Thanks,
    Alex

  • Orchestrator 2012 R2 on SQL 2012 SP1 Availability Group

    Hi all,
    I've recently setup a new install of SCOrch 2012 R2 on a SQL 2012 SP1 Availability Group.  Everything went smooth and appears to be functioning correctly up until a failover occurs (manual or automatic).  Once there is a failover between database
    nodes, the Orchestrator servers (Mgmt and Runbook) lose connectivity to the database and will not reconnect until the services are restarted and then they work again.
    Has anyone setup Orchestrator on an Availability Group and are you seeing similar issues from a failover?
    Thanks!
    Jon

    Hi Jon,
    has each member of the availability group the same master key to read encrypted data like passwords and the license code?

    environment:  2 2012 Hosts, connection broker + rdweb (same vm), no gateway, all 2012 OS.  Standard deployment on the 2 hosts.
    I have a 2012 RDS installation of personal VDI.  Users connect to the RDweb server and launch their assigned VDI from there.  Users are experiencing random connection issues when connecting to their VDI via the RDWeb portal.  Here are some
    events in the logs:
    Event 8964 Remote Desktop Virtualization Host failed to process the orchestration request because virtual desktop [VM7REMSBUCJ] is busy processing cleanup from previous logoff event.
    Event 8467 Remote Desktop Virtualization Host failed to get redirection authentication information from the virtual machine [VM7REMSBUCJ] .
    The events above correspond with a remote users attempting to login in the morning to a VDI with a state of shutdown.
