Order of exit variables

When writing the code for user exit variables in CMOD, does the order in which they are calculated matter? Here is what I am doing. i use a exit to get previous calendar month from system date, and from that variable i use another exit to get the year. So is it necessary that the code for previous month comes before the code for year?

Hi Uday,
That does not matter...the execution will search for the name of the variable and then execute the code.
Hope this helps...

  • Customer exit variables: order of execution

    Hi,
I am using multiple customer exit variables. What determines the order the coding in ZXRSRU01 for these variables is executed ?
When I debug, the program always starts with the coding for one particular variable first, but can I depend on it that it stays this way ?
    Regards,
    Guido

    Hi Wodn,
Suppose I have 2 variables, both are called in I_STEP = 2. You write:
'the order of execution is based on the order of the variable which is being called'
Can you elaborate ? What exactely determines this ? Is it the order of the variables being used in the query (KF1 first, the KF2) ? I cannot find logic here.
    Thanks for your reply.

  • Current Workday SAP EXIT variable not aligned with correct work days

    Hello,
I am trying to use the Current Workday variable within a report so that the data will only be refreshed when the calendar day is Monday - Friday. Users look at this report every day, but when they get the report on Monday we would like for the date to be restricted to the previous Friday, and then switch back to Monday's date when they view the report on Tuesday. In order to do this we have placed the Current Workday variable from the Calendar Date characteristic with an offset of negative 1, but it is showing Sunday's date when they look at the report on Monday.
    My questions are:
-Does this variable use the factory calendar that can define the work days?
-If so, which Factory calendar does it use? I have gone to the Tcode SCAL but I can see there are many different factory calendars and I have no idea which calendar this variable pertains to. I have also transferred the global settings for the factory calendar from the source system, and I see no change within the variable.
-How can I see the program name behind this SAP Exit variable? My thinking is that I could at least look at the code to see if perhaps I can find out the factory calendar ID the variable refers to from there.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Until this is fixed I have to manually adjust this report every Monday and Tuesday morning!! Not ideal.

    Hi Kelly,
I am not sure whether this can be done by an SAP Exit variable.
But you may try this using a Customer exit variable by using the Function module DATE_COMPUTE_DAY.
The function module "DATE_COMPUTE_DAY" will return the day by 1 to 7 when you input date.
Monday : System will return value = 1
Tuesday : System will return value = 2
Wednesday : System will return value = 3
Thursday : System will return value = 4
Friday : System will return value = 5
Saturday : System will return value = 6
Sunday : System will return value = 7
So input sy-datum to this FM and find the number of day. If it is Monday, the number will be 1.
If output is 1, then offset date by -3 to that of Friday, else offset by -1 to previous day.
    Hope this helps,

  • Error creating Customer Exit variable, please help

    Hi Experts,
This is the scenario, I need to obtain the convertion rate from the table TCURR in order to convert several currencies to USD, so I created a Customer Exit variable that gets the Period and based on that obtains the conversion rate for the last day of the given month from TCURR, the problem is when I created the Formula Variable to get the value from the Customer exit variable I got the following error:
'ZVARREGEXIT' ALREADY EXISTS; SELECT A DIFFERENT NAME.
But in not using that name anywhere on my variables creation, Im doing something wrong? How can I check wheres is that variable being used.
Ideas, comments are always welcome and appreciated.
    Regards.

    Hi Ed,
Open Admin Workbench (RSA1) and choose Transport Connection --> Object Types --> Query Elements --> Variable --> Select Objects. Find the variable of interest and transfer it back to the main screen, then right-click and choose 'Display Description'. That will show you a "where used" list of queries, workbooks, etc.
Next, you can use the previous technique to open one of the queries, find the variable in the query, and determine which InfoObject it is associated with.
    Hope this helps!

  • Population of Customer Exit Variables in Web Template Queries

    Hello,
    Desired Scenario:
I have three Queries: Q1, Q2, Q3, attached to one Web Template in the same order. Queries Q2 and Q3 have exit variables which are populated from the Input Variable of Query Q1 (these customer Exit variables are mandatory,  not available for user input and are populated in STEP=2).
    Problem:
Sometimes on execution of the template, Q1 is executed first and then the exit variables are populted (which is OK) BUT  sometimes Query Q2 or Q3 is executed first and exit variables don't get populated.
As such, I am not sure of the order these three queries are executed. Please suggest how do I ensure that Q1 is always executed first, followed by Q2 or Q3.
    Thanks for your suggestions.
    Best Regards,
    Sumita

    Hi,
The Infoobjects are different in all the three queries. In Q1, the variable is on 0CALWEEK. In Q2, the variable is on XWEEKD (which is reference to 0CALWEEK). IN Q3, it is on XFORWEEK (which is again reference to 0CALWEEK). So, I can't use the same variable in all three queries. But all these variables have to have the Week from to Week To as the input and that input remains same for all three variables.
To prevent the user from entering this week from & to thrice, we populate the other two in customer exit depending on the value input by the user.
So, now I want to know the order in which the queries attached to a Web Template are executed.
    Best Regards,
    Sumita

Is there any setting or activation is required to use SAP EXITS?
    Waiting for Solution......
    Thanks & Regards,
    Praveen.K

    Hi
In this case you will have to use a Customer Exit (which is Ready for Input) Variable which gets Current Fiscal Year as a Default Value.
In order to do that - you will need to create a Customer Exit Variable which is Ready for Input. The Variable will have to be assigned with Current Fiscal Year under I_STEP 1 (this refers to the coding of the Customer Exit in T-code: CMOD)
If you need any help with the coding - don't hesitate to ask.

  • RRI & user exit variable

    Hello RRI specialist!
I need to implement the following logic: user executes report 1 (sender) which contains characteristic Material (and several other characteristics). With the RRI the user must be abled to jump into report 2 (receiver)displaying the Material Type(s) of the Material selectied in report 1.
Note: in this case there is a n:m relationship between Material and  Material Type. The relationship between Material and Material Type exists in a Z-table.
I thought to implement this with 2 alternatives:
First alternative, under Assignment Details, assigning Material to variable V1 (being a User-Exit variable of type Material Type) used in report 2.  From report 1 I hope to jump into report 2 by "selecting" on a Material (e.g. 4711) and then read the Z-table when i_step = 2 to find the corresponding Material Type.
Prolem: when I set a break point for V1 in ZXRSRU01 I see that V1 does not appear in the table I_T_VAR_RANGE (for any i_step), i.e. the values (e.g. 4711) are no passed from the sender selection to V1.
Second alternative, under Assignment Details, assigning Material to variable V2 (being a User-Entry/Default variable of type Material) used in report 2.  Report 2 will then contain variable V3 (being a User-Entry/Default variable of type Material Type). The user-exit logic will read V2 from I_T_VAR_RANGE when i_step = 2 and the Z-table to find the corresponding Material Type.
Problem: exactly the same as above. NOTE: it does not help that V3 is of type replacement type from the sender report.
When I use the debugger of the RRI in RSRT2 both alternatives seem to work correctly.
Does the variable defined under Assignment Details have to fulfill certain conditions in order for the values to be passed?
Is it simply that ZXRSRU01 is called before the values are passed from the sender report?
Anybody got an idea what I am doing wrong and how I could implement the requirement to read the Z-table in the RRI jump????
    Thanks for any help,
    Martin

    Dear Martin,
That was a good explanation of issue and approach. It had been quitesome time to work on user exits. I am not sure the following views can help you.. but i am also interested in the solution..
    1) can we include the material group in the sendor ( hidden) and can this me directly assigned to target?
    2) I think i_step = 2, get excuted after user filled the values manually. How about trying i_step = 3, i think this is the loop for reading other than manual entries..
    3) how about the trails of filing the default values at i_step = 1, on the taget query names. Notsure this will give you the solution.. just my thoughts..

  • Customer Exit variable creation

    All,
    I have the follwoing requirement
Variable : Requested delivery date ( Range , Mandatory)
    Rows:  --- Columns
    Average monday  - Actual Orders
    Average Tuesday --Actual Orders
    Average wednesday -  Actual Orders
    Average thursday - Actual Orders
    Average  friday --Actual Orders
Based on the user entry , The query has to calculate Actual orders by different days..
I think I have to write customer exit variable. or is there any other/better solution..
    thanks

    Hi,
We can do it by using Customer Exit code, but it requires more efforts to do teh same. For Customer EXit codes with example please see the url.

  • Customer Exit Variable to fetch the data from the cube..

    Hello Gurus,
I am having a requirement to select the latest changed record from the cube while executing the query.  where we are having the Calday as the date with a variable .
I suggested my client we can filter it at the DSO leve or Data loading level but my client dont want to distrurb the existing design so he want to perfrom the changes at the Query level only.
For Example we are having below records in the cube.
    PO             Material     Calday       Qty         Price
    101            ABC          1/12           100         10
    101            ABC          2/12            100         10
    101            ABC          3/12            100         11
I am having Calday in the selection screen as the variable.
Now from the above example i need to show the record which has been changed on 3/12.
For this i am planning to write the customer exit variable on the calday , when the user enter the range of Calday then i will fetch the whole records which fall in between the range and i will sort each PO with respect to the date and i will pick those which are the latest records.
    My Concerns:
!. Kindly let me know if it is possible and what are the other things that i need to consider.
    2. Did it will impact the performance.
    Waiting for your quick replies
    Thanks & Regards
    KK

    Hi Mate,
    Sorry for late reply.
By d way in your word.
initially when the user enter the date range as the vairable input. suppose 1/12 to 31/12 then i will pick all those records which fall in this range.
    suppose the records are
    PO Date
    P1 01/12
    P1 02/12
    P2 02/12
    P2 03/12
    P3 03/12
    P3 04/12
In the customer exit variable Now for each PO i will sort the date in ascending order and i will pick the last record to display it in the Report.
    The ouput will be
    PO Date
    P1 02/12
    P2 03/12
    P3 04/12
Now hope you are aware about exit variable concept.
so what value will pass in the calday filter.
here after sorting on each PO , you will get 3 different dates, 02/12 for P1
    03/12 for P2
    and 04/12 for P3
Now if you are aware about exit variable concept, then you will pass this three date to CALDAY(I_t_VAR_Range-low = ...)
but how query will understand that for P1 calday filter value is 02/12, for P2 calday filter value is 03/12.... and so on...
actually i have also experienced this kind of issue 1-2 years before, i have tried same thing at that time without thinking and stuck with this problem..
By d way you can also learn from your mistake.. so just try ur logic and then you will understand what is the problem?
By d way this will not work, parallel you can work on other solution.

  • Custom Exit variable

    Hi ,
I need to support a Bex report and need to understand the existing custome exit they have for a variable.
Eg : in the BEx Query, i see they have created a custom variable and used that to automatically get the current month and populate the query.
I went to BEx change mode and variable Display/change mode but that just gives the details that it is the custome exit and technical n
Can you please tel me the steps to get to the code level behind it to understand the logic ?
    Thanks.

    Hi Chris,
to get the what they have written,
goto T-code   SE38 >>>> Give program name ZXRSRU01  click enter
It will open a new window which has all the customer exit codes
    For ex:
    case i_vnam.
    when 'VAR1'.
    SOME LOGIC
    WHEN 'VAR2'.
    SOME LOGIC
    WHEN 'VARN'.
    SOME LOGIC.
    END CASE.
Here var1 var2  and .. varn are the  customer exit variables {techical names].
When ever user run the query which contains the customer exit it will trigger the above include program and it will trigger respected when logic.
Do debugging through T-code RSRT  [  give query name [execute + debug } }  in order to understand the logic step by step.
Note : you can also use the
    T-code CMOD> project >> enhancement RSR00001>>> EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001>>>ZXRSRU01
to check / to change the customer exit program.

  • Customer Exit Variable to populate one of the three dates

    Hi ,
There is a requirement where we need to need to enter either of the following dates :
    1. Order Date
    2. Delivery Date
    3. Bill Date .
Hence we need to write a Customert Exit Variable for the same .
One of these 3 dates should be mandatory  i.e, the Report should  not execute if  none of them is entered  while it should execute when either of them is entered.
All I know is that this Customer exit should be written in iStep = 3 .
    Please suggest the  remaining solution.

  • I_STEP=2 in Planning sequence and user exit variable

    Hello!
I need some issue, help plz.
I have planning sequence with currency translation type fuction.
In this function Exch. rate type calculated from user-exit variable VAR_1 (for example).
This VAR_1 calculate from VAR_2 (ready for input) variable on I_STEP = 2.
In pure report all fine, i fill VAR_2 in variable screen and VAR_1 fill in exit.
But! In planning sequence (run from Excel) in I_STEP = 2 structure i_t_var_range is empty and my VAR_1 cannt be calculated.
I try any command and parameters in Bex - no result.
How can i calculate VAR_1? Or what i must do in order to get i_t_var_range on I_STEP 2 with VAR_1.
    Thanks.
    Anton.
    BW SP 17(DEV) AND 19(QAS)

    Hello Matthias!
I try all kind of binding, using command VAR_NAME and VAR_VALUE, without command etc.
But it seems like my user-exit variable start in different context and do not see other variable.
My planning sequence start working only when i insert condition for planning function and set VAR_2 here. After that VAR_1 calculate normally ( i_t_var_range on I_STEP 2 contain VAR_2). But i think all should be working without condition...i dont need condition.
    Any idea?

  • Default value of BeX customer Exit variable not Displayed in WeBI??

    Hello Experts,
We are stuck with a problem where WeBI report is created on top of BeX query and we are not able to see the default value of Bex Customer exit variable in WeBI run. Here is the complete scenario:
    1. One restricted KF is created in BeX, restricted with Customer exit variable on net Due date. And this variable is mandatory, ready for input, and Default value in calculated is user exit as current Week's Monday.
    2. So, by default KF data should be restricted to Monday of current week, if user does not change this value.
    3. Now, WeBI report is created on top of this Bex query, and all is working fine, i.e. we are getting variable as Prompt in WeBI, but Default value is not shown while Running the Webi Report.
So, need your inputs on the same, if default values from BeX in WeBI is supported or not? If yes, why this is happening, and how to resolve it?
Please notice, the restrcition is in KF only, it is not a separate restrcition on Net Due date in Filter area or in Defualt area of BeX
and we are on SAP BW 7.1 and BOXI 3.1 SP4.

  • Need help in creating a user exit variable

    Hi all,
I have created a query in which a key figure needs to be automated with an user exit variable.I want to derive the value of this key figure 'x' based on calender month.
This key figure should get the cumulative value from the first month of the fiscal year till the calender year month entered while executing the query.
I got a basic understanding on the User exits from SDN. But Im not sure how to implement this logic.
I would really appreciate if you could provide me a detailed explanation of how to do this.
