Order of Input-Variables in Web Template

Hi,
I have a problem with Web Templates. I have prepared Web Templates in BI 7.0 WAD in which I am displaying multiple queries. Some input variables are common to all queries and some are only in the main query. I have set the correct order of the input vars in the main query, but when I run the Web Template, I get the common variables first and then the rest which is not okay for me.
Can anybody suggest how to overcome this problem? And display the variables in the order I want in the Web Template?

Hi Mayank
Why dont you insert a table in the WAD template and move the "buttons/variables" into the table rows/columns in the order you want them to appear.
That should work.

  • Population of Customer Exit Variables in Web Template Queries

    Hello,
    Desired Scenario:
I have three Queries: Q1, Q2, Q3, attached to one Web Template in the same order. Queries Q2 and Q3 have exit variables which are populated from the Input Variable of Query Q1 (these customer Exit variables are mandatory,  not available for user input and are populated in STEP=2).
    Problem:
Sometimes on execution of the template, Q1 is executed first and then the exit variables are populted (which is OK) BUT  sometimes Query Q2 or Q3 is executed first and exit variables don't get populated.
As such, I am not sure of the order these three queries are executed. Please suggest how do I ensure that Q1 is always executed first, followed by Q2 or Q3.
    Thanks for your suggestions.
    Best Regards,
    Sumita

    Hi,
The Infoobjects are different in all the three queries. In Q1, the variable is on 0CALWEEK. In Q2, the variable is on XWEEKD (which is reference to 0CALWEEK). IN Q3, it is on XFORWEEK (which is again reference to 0CALWEEK). So, I can't use the same variable in all three queries. But all these variables have to have the Week from to Week To as the input and that input remains same for all three variables.
To prevent the user from entering this week from & to thrice, we populate the other two in customer exit depending on the value input by the user.
So, now I want to know the order in which the queries attached to a Web Template are executed.
    Best Regards,
    Sumita

  • Input Enabled Query - Web Template - Not able to change the key figure.

    Hello IP Gurus,
This is a simple question .
I have input enabled query and for all the KF's , I selected the radio button - data can be changed using user entries or planning functions , Equal Distribution and No disagrregation.
I attached the query to a web template.
When I execute the template I am not able to enter or change the key figures.
Do I have to use any planning function to do that in the web template or I am missing any configuration . Please let me know how to change or enter the key figures
    Thanks
    Senthil

    HI Senthil,
Please ensure that u have enabled the property  " start Query in changed Mode". This u can find it in the query properties under the advanced tab.
For the Input readiness this alone is not enough. You have to use all the charecteristics that u have in the multiprovider or the aggregation level over which the query is built.
    regards.

  • How to recall variable screen in Bex web template 3.5 ?

When I execute a BW web report and I want to recall the variable screen in order to modify a variable , how to ....
Also how to export to excel ? is it possible to export table + graph ?
Indeed in query designer , when you execute the query, you see icons to do these task. But when you execute the web template, you don't have automaticaly the icons' bar.....
How to display this bar ?
    Thanks 4 your help

    Hi Michael,
In the web template properties there should be a tick box called 'display variable', the web template will now show the variable entry screen.
You can create a commad with the command wizard which will allow you to export to excel or show graph and table.
    Thanks,
    Nick.

  • Query Variable: F4 search by Text is case sensitive in Web Templates.

    Hello Guru's,
I have a problem, when I am trying to search the variables in Web Templates the search by text is case sensitive.
For example If I have the customer name as "King", I have to search the text as King or Ki*, But If I search as king I will not get any results.
I need to have my text search as case insensitive.
When I checked in my BEx queries the search is case insensitive. I have the problem in my Web Templates only. Please let me know do I need to change any variable settings ing the web templates or let me know how do I fix this issue.
    Many Thanks,
    Vamshi Krishna

    Hi,
So the only workaround for this would be to goto RSD1 -> enter info
-object as xxxx, and press maintain, then goto master data/text
tab and select the check box, 'with text', now save and activate the
infoobject. After this regenerate the query using tcode rsrt.
To regenerate goto rsrt enter query name and press 'generate report'
    button.
Now the F4 help screen should show the options search by key and search
by text. So that you can select serach by key to have a case insensitive
    search.
    Thanks,
    Venkat

  • Restrict values on web template input variable

    Hi WAD and Bex Experts,
I'm trying to reduce the numbers of valid values when I press the match code in the input variable in a web template.
In the same time I would like to increase the maximum numbers of valid values
Any ideas how to do it ? I checked on Bex and WAD but I can't figure out how to do it.
    I'm on a Bw 3.5 version.

  • URGENT:  Not seeing the variable Pop-up for Button , on web template in WAD

    Hi gurus,
In IP I have a standard plan function for 'Copy', which has a few variables defined on the funciton itself (as to be changed):
    Version from:
    Version to:
    Order from:
    Order To:
    Fiscal year from:
    Fiscal year to:
All of the above variable are created with the following parameters:
Variable input: Optional (have also tried madantory)
    Ready for input: is flagged.
    Variable represents: Single value.
    No default entry.
    No personalized data.
Now in WAD, I create a button group for this function by selecting the Command, 'Executing Planning Function (simple)', manually entering my plan function technical name next to 'Command specific parameters', and selecting the dataprovider created for the filter I created in IP, and finally flagging the 'Display variable' button.
The problem is, on the web template the variable screen does not appear when I click on the function button. It executes the function in the background without giving me the pop-up for variable selection. And obviously since the variables have no default values, nothing is processesed.
I've tried this with planning sequence instead, and still wont give me the variable pop-up screen..
I've actually explicitlet entered the variables on the 'Parameters for Command screen', the same screen where you enter the filter for databinding and well as the function.
It still wont work (no variable pop-up screen).
Is this issue related to the support pack. We're on SP12 right now?
If not, do any of you gurus have any ideas? Big points will be rewarded for this.
    Thanks

In the parameterization of the command, there is an option 'show variable screen'. I am not sure if you have mentioned this clearly, but have you checked this option?

  • How to pass variable between CRM Fact sheet and BI web template

    Hello,
I am looking for someone who has integrated a custom web template with the CRM fact sheet (I am on 2004s).
I have created a custom web application design template for displaying on the portal for a CRM factsheet (TPL_FACT_SHEET).
This template is based on a query which has a variable (CHOOSE_CUST, ready for input, input: optional type) on 0CUSTOMER char.
When the sales rep queries the CRM FactSheet on the portal- based on the 0CUSTOMER he is demanding the fact sheet for,  the appropriate 0CUSTOMER value needs to be parsed to my custom web template and it should return him the report. The report is very simple with just sales for current and previous year by material group. There is a std template to do this but we are using cutom data providers and hence need to create this custom web template.
Thus far I have created a 'filter pane' in my web template but do not know how to link this with the CRM fact sheet or even how to link it to my query variable. Currently when my template is called from the factsheet (portal) it displays results for multiple customers without any filter!
Please advise how to proceed in linking the CRM fact sheet 0Customer number with my web template filter pane!
    Full points for useful answers!
    Thanks

  • Mandatory Variable set in a view doesn't show in Web template ?

    Hi Experts,
I have a mandatory user-input variable in my query. I build a view based on the query. When I opened the query analyzer I had to select a value for my variable since it is mandatory. I did so and built my view. I based my BI web template on my view. When i execute the template the variable screen doesn't show, the value of my variable is the one I entered when I built the view and there is no way i can change this value from the Web template. Is this expected behaviour ? If so how can i build a view when i have a mandatory variable withoit setting its value in the analyzer ? The user has to set it later in the BI template.
    Thanks a lot
    Rado

    Thanks for the reply.
Actually the variable has a default value which is defined in a function. This default can be overriden. The problem is that when defining the view you need to specify a value or leave the default. In any case in Web Template you are not given the option of changing whatever you put in the query analyzer. i am puzzled how this could happen.

  • Variable Personalization for Web Templates

    Hi,
Does anyone know of a method to personalize variable values for <b>individual</b> web templates. When I personalize a variable value while running the query on web, its value gets modified for all queries, not just the specific one that I am running.
This does not happen when I run the queries in BEx. Here I have the option of personalizing the variable values specific to the query that I am running (by using the icon at the bottom of the variable screen), or to personalize the variable value across all queries (by using the icon displayed with the individual variable).
Can anyone help me in achieving the same two options for queries run on web? I want to personalize variable values for individual queries.
    Thanks
    -Arif

    Hi Arun
Thanks for your input, but the bookmarks or parameter passing will not give enough flexibility to the users.
    For example:
Out of 10 available variables in the query, the user should have an option of selecting values for those that have not been personalized (say 7 variables) while the rest 3 get populated automatically because they have been personalized. In EACH run of the query, the user will have the flexibility to select a different value for the 7 variables.
This needs to be different for each query the user runs, even though the queries may use same variables as the other.
I am trying out some options. If it works, I shall let you know.
    Regards
    -Arif

  • Displaying variable values in Web Template

    Hi,
I am working on a Web Template.
I want to display the variables and their values input by the user on the Web Template.
Which Web Item function shd I use?
    How shd I use it?
    Pls guide me.
    Thank you,
    Adarsh

    Hi Adarsha.
You can add the standard web item called "Text Elements". When you have added it just insert the dataprovider you want the filter values displayed for.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to fill variables when calling a web template as a modal dialog

    Hi Experts,
    My scenario is as follow:
I have a web template (application) A with an analysis item which has enabled the option for selecting single rows, in the rows I have the characteristic 0EMPLOYEE and a button for executing the commands OPEN_TEMPLATE_DIALOG and SET_TEMPLATE for calling web template B. In web template B I have a report with the variable zp_employee.
The behavior I need is, if the user is selecting a row in the analysis item of template A, variable zp_employee in web application B should be filled from the selection. If there is no selection of a row, the variable screen should shows up.
The general issue here, is how to feed one or more variables that "live" in wad B from a web item (analysis, input item, combo box, etc) in wad A.
I guess it has to do with setting parameters in the URL with which wad B is called, may be coding a java script in web template B in the standard action "Action Before first display", but not sure
    thanks for any help

    Hi:
    Try that one in SPRO.
here are steps if u need them.
    SPRO
    SAP Reference IMG
    From here, open tree:
    SAP Netweaver
    SAP Buss Info Warehouse
    Reporting Relevant Settings
    BEx Web
    Set Standard Web Templates.
Here add for Adhoc analysis and others if needed.

  • Input Variable in BO Webi Report

    Hi,
We have BW-Query and have defined BO Webi-Report using Universe on this query.
When we execute BW-Query direct in BW, we can see all plants from
master data table in the input Variable (Input help/F4).
When we execute BO-Report in BO, it shows only plants in the input variable, for which there are transaction data
in InfoCube. I expect here to see all plants from the master data table (like BW Query).
Is it normal? Or is there some other issue?
    Thanks

    Hi,
as the webi report will contain only transactional data anyway (webi MDX statement will ask for non empty records), this is the normal behavior what you are experiencing.
What settings do you have on the infoObject, on which you have the variable set?:
    -Query Def Filter Value Selection
    -Query Execution Filter Val. Selection
There you should be able to choose between "Only Values in InfoProvider" and "master data".
    Best regards
