Organisational Chart in Keynote?

Do you know if Keynote/Pages/any other Apple software has a template to build an organisational chart?

First of all this forum is for users of the program "AppleWorks" so you may get better answers if you post in either the Pages or the Keynote forums. You can find them under the catagory iWork.
My understanding is the program "OmniGraffle" is what many people use for charts like that. A version came pre-installed on my machine, look in your Applications folder to see if it is already on yours.

    There is not an organisation chart feature in Keynote.
    You would add text boxes and shapes connecting them with the line shape.

    Hello all!  So, there are lots of answer to this for iWork'09, but I haven't found them for the current version of Work.
    What I'd like to do is take data from Numbers and create a chart in Keynote that would then auto-update if I edited the data in Numbers.  Put another way, the Keynote chart data would 'live' in Numbers - every time I edit the Numbers data, I'd like those changes to reflect in Keynote.  Any thoughts on how to do this outside of always cutting and pasting from Numbers to Keynote?

  • HR Organisation Chart : Showing Position as Presently occupied by other

    As per our Business Practice, there are some Positions which are Vacant but occupied by some Employee as their Secondary assignment (over and above their primary assignment, which is some other position). And this position we don't want to show it as Vacant and as of now there's no plan to fill this also in near future, but as part of the Organisation Chart, we want to show this as Occupied position.
    e.g. Presently in our Org Chart, CIO Position is Vacant, but we want some existing employee to appear as "Acting CIO" and don't want Vacancy report to display such positions which is dully occupied by some Employee's.
    So how can we incorporate such Employee assignment to 2 different Positions, one Primary and other Secondary, so that such Positions are not shown as part of Vacancies.

    I hope you can create your Secondary Position in Planned Status and make it active after the primary Position got Obsolete.

  • Organisational Chart

    Would someone tell me how I can develop an Organisational Chart using Java swing. I tried to use JTree but am getting a folder structure format which is not what I want.

    difficult to teach Graphics in a forum thread. I suggest that you contact a local Oracle office for support through a sales consultant. Maybe there are still courses given by Oracle Education on this.
    Personally I never used Graphics a lot and thus never worked with dynamic object creation.

  • Having issues with charts in Keynote '09

    When I try to create a chart in Keynote '09, it comes in all messed up and does not allow me to edit it. It comes in inverted and a complete disaster. See below:

    This may sound strange, but try starting your brush strokes at the top of the page.  That way the tendency is for the stylus tip to lift at the end of the stroke.  Going bottom to top tends to push the tip into the tablet.   You could also look at Brush Shape Dynamics (F5).  It looks like you have Size jitter set to pen Pressure, but set the minimum siz to 0% - if not already set so.  Then it is a matter of lots of practice, and perhaps making full use of the CS5 rotate screen feature (r) to keep your brush strokes at whatever is the optimum angle for you.

    I need to build organisation chart for my company to display in a web page with basic functionality of zoom-in , zoom-out and expanding and collapsing of nodes. I did some seach on google and found that ADF hhierachial viewer can be used aptly for this purpose. Though I know how to use JDeveloper tool but i am not aware of ADF and hierarchial viewer. Can any tell me how to do that or atleast point me to some link to build organisation chart example app. Or if someone has used some other tool please guide to gather me information and build the chart. This is urgent for my organization.

    I have never used "ADF and hierarchial viewer" and it is unlikely that anyone in this forum is going to write a tutorial especially for you so Google is your friend. The first hit I found was https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/exploring_the_hierarchy_viewer .

    Output display in XMl format only..but by changing property com.sap.xss.hr.oci.xmltestertype from default to JNET it displat output thru SAp XML tester iView.
    We need third party software to display meaningful and good organisation chart.

  • How to I change the colour (or hightlight) some of the bars in a bar chart in Keynote?

    I am using Keynote 6.2.2.  I have prepared a chart which displays the quarterly income (as a points on a line) and expenditure (as bars) for the past 3 years.  I wish to highlight the Q1 expenditure bars for comparison reasons.  At the moment all the bars are coloured red (and the income lines, blue).  How can I either change the colours of just the Q1 expenditure bars for each year?

    You need to change to;   plot columns:
    select the chart
    click the Edit Chart Data button
    click the plot columns button (arrowed)
    select the chart then select the individual bars to be changed:

  • Is it possible to a make a semi-pie chart in Keynote???

    I'm working on a documentary film about Germany in the early thirties. And to show the NSDAP share of parliamentary seats in the last election (March 1933), I was hoping to use a semi-pie rather than a full circle or full pie. Since the semi-pie is shaped more like a parliamentary seating arena.

    Unfortunately, Keynote can't produce a semi-pie chart.
    I think you have the right idea to try to fake it out by the clever use of masking. It might work just well enough for what you're trying to do. Download and take a look at this presentation.

  • Re-linking Numbers charts in Keynote '09

    When your Keynote '09 chart loses its link to the source Numbers file, and you try to update the chart, you get this message:
    "You can also restore the original source chart and try to update again"

    Hi sailor,
    I don't believe so... You can always add an intermediary page between your photo and the link gateway slide. After duplicating the original link slide, make sure that that the new ones do not have the previous bullet point on "building in" but static and already built in. So basically the slide starts with your previous bullet points and when you click the build, it just builds in the next bullet point hyperlinked to your next photo.
    It's actually a fairly fast process when you right-click (or option click) and duplicate the page. All you need to do is just make sure the previous bullet points are not "building in." Although this solution will provide the end presentation that you wish, it is not as clean and efficient (makes a presentation with more slides) as you might have hoped for with the photos linking back to just 1 slide with the slide having "memorized" your previous progression in the bullet point builds. Hope this helps.

    I am using Crystal Reports 2008 and would like to know if any chart is available to implement organisational hierarchy. Such as manager, team members the hierarchy should be represented in the chart.
    Kindly let me know if any work around or alternative is if we can proceed if the chart is not available.

    Hi,
    A u2018hierarchyu2019 chart is not currently available in Crystal Reports.
    As a workaround a chart could be created using the drill-down option.
    If this does not meet the requirement, the chart could be created using Microsoft Word, for instance, and then import the chart into Crystal Reports as an Ole Object.

  • When pasting a numbers chart into keynote the refresh button will not appear.

    I tried anything I read online, like saving the numbers file, having both of them locally instead of in iCloud... But there is no way the chart gets linked to numbers...
    any idea? I really need this to work. I have a quarterly presentation with many charts and the idea is to have them all in numbers so that keynote charts update.

    Thanks Gary, if that is true, which seems to be, the re-written version lacks of one of the best features the previous version had. I cannot understand why it wasn't implemented in the new re-written application.
    In my case, the work around is quite bothering... Many of the charts belong to one single table. With previous version, once updated the table, all those charts were updated in Keynote, now you can imagine how tedious it has become...

  • Need Help formatting text in a chart in Keynote

    I'm attempting to edit/format some of the text in a chart. This is an imported Powerpoint presentation
    so I'm limited to using the fonts available on the originators PC.
    On the chart is a legend, showing little coloured boxes which reference the coloured elements in the chart. The text beside these is too long, and the text box runs off the page. I know I can go to the inspector and change some parameters (ie horizontal spacing) but I really need to break the text into two (or more) lines. However, I cannot find a means to enable text wrap. I have tried to create an invisible additional column (Chart/edit data) but I cannot hide the box.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated

    You can add a line break in the Chart Data Editor cells by typing Option-Return at the point you want the break. This will let you have legends with text that runs two or more lines.
