Orgchart display/navigation issues
Hi
I have the 4 minor issues, I have searched settingsresources.xml, appresources.xml and the other XML files to try and find a solution but with no success. I have also checked my course notes and all the config options:-
1. Bypass Welcome Page - is it possible to bypass the initial welcome page and jump straight to the org chart
2. Link from Listing to Org Chart - the link from the org unit listing to the org chart does not seem to work. Eg I go to the listing, search for an org unit when it is found I click on it, but I am not navigated to the org unit in the chart display (should this work?). I have enabled the link configuration in the Org Unit listing config
3. Is it possible to change the font size of the text in the Org Chart boxes? I can change box size, colour etc but cannot change the font size. If have found the CSS files but am unsure which, if any, of these to update. I also only seem to have one theme available is this normal?
4. Printing - the option for landscape/portrait does not seem to work, the system always prints portrait unless I actually go into my printer properties and change it there. Is this happening for anybody else
Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers
Andrew
Hi Luke,
thanks for the reply it was very helpful as always. I just have a couple of further questions
2. This is intended functionality - you should be navigated to the OrgUnit details panel and not to the OrgUnit within the hierarchy.
I thought it would be possible to right-click and select 'View in Org Chart' but this option does not seem to be available anywhere, even though I have selected the relevant Link configuration (view in org chart) option
4. Please review the printing instructions in the application documentation. There are settings that need to be made in the browser as well as the application in order to print correctly.
Yes I have changed all the browser settings, and enable all java active x etc and I can get a print to appear its just that I have to physically go in and change my printer settings to landscape even though the Nakisa wizard says it is set to landscape
Cheers
Andrew

Navigation Issue on HC 91, Tools 8.51, SQL Server 2008 on Windows 2008
Hi Guys,
I installed HCM 91 -Tools 851-SQL Server 2008 on Windows 2008 server. App server running perfectly, initiated web server fine.
When I login in n-tier/web via PS userid, navigation to Panels are fine but when I try to click on any page, it gives error IE exception at the bottom – “Error on the page”, page does nothing, no searches and does not display the page.
I tried installation from ground zero the 3rd time last night, followed all the steps and stuck at this point.
I am wondering if anyone has encountered these issues.
I appreciate any pointers.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Mac Pro (Early 2008) and HP LP3065 30" display compatibility issue
Hello!
Is there FIX / Workaround to Mac Pro (Early 2008) and HP LP3065 30" display compatibility issue ? ( +w/ ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT display adapter+ ). Its really annoying problem :-/.
Main problem is when i start my Mac, my 30" HP screen dosen't wake up, it always on suspend mode. Sometimes it wakes up on the 3rd try orso, sometimes it ruins my motivation, ideas and i give up (talk about inspiration killer). If i connect PC Laptop to that screen, sreen wakes up straight away. ATI says display adapters "drivers" are included on the OSX install. Great. Weird thing is i didn't recognize this problem at all 6-8 months ago, so i thought my system is fine. So i can't return my HP screen anymore.
My choices are to buy another 30" screen or buy different display adapter; there's two choices atm i think;
*-ATI Radeon HD 3870 512MB PCI-E for Mac Pro (~200€)*
*-EVGA GeForce GTX 285 Mac Edition 1GB (~500€)* (this one has seperate OSX drivers).
_Can anyone confirm if those display adapters work with HP 3065 30" screen ?._

Br,
PetriThanks for all information. I haven't been Mac user very long . I just want to get rid of my annoying problem. I'll do music composing mainly on my Mac Pro. So, it dosen't really matter what display card i'm using, i want to just make sure it works with HP 3065 .

Brand New MacBook Pro and Display Adaptor Issue
Hello fellow Mac users, I've been a long-time Mac user and owner.
I just got a new MacBook Pro after using a 2006 model for 2 years and am having a display adapter issue that I need help and advice with:
The new MacBook Pro has the mini DVI display connector, my non-Apple external display is does not support the mini DVI, no problem there, I bought the display adaptor...
Except that it doesn't fit the adaptor that fit the 2006 MacBook Pro.
Please See Image at Link:
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/sdjOcw1jrddqtAfjAU0Trw?feat=directlink
File comment: This is the adaptor that connected my 2006 MacBook Pro to the the display. It changes the connection from the Mac's DVI to fit the VGA connection of my display. There are the four extra pins around the flat pin to the left of the connector.
Somehow the male end of the mini DVI to the full-size DVI adaptor doesn't fit the female end of the full-size DVI to VGA adaptor! Please see the images. It seems a few extra pins prevent the connection!
Please See Image at Link:
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/4bG788QVKGCOIJUkzHcjKg?feat=directlink
Comment: This is where the problems begin. The flat portion lacks the four holes needed for the DVI to VGA adaptor to connect.
Is it possible to just remove the four offending pins in the Full Size DVI to VGA Male End?
Any help or suggestions highly appreciated, because as of now, my brand new MacBook Pro is less useful than the 2006 model, which can connect to my external display.
Thanks a lot for your help!Hi Rob with a Mac and welcome to the boards.
My suggestion would be that you simply take the adaptor back and get a mini-display port to VGA adaptor instead.
I ran into a similar problem myself recently when I wanted to connect my own MBP13 to an overhead projector. I had assumed that I could use the mini display to DVI adaptor that I use for the DVI capable external monitor with my new MacBook, combined with a DVI to VGA adaptor that I had for my 2007 MBP, connected to a VGA cable to do the job, but this is not possible.
MiniDisplay to VGA adaptors for the newer MBPs are readily available at Apple dealers or through the online store and not too expensive.
Cheers

Strange Navigation Issues After Using Pop-up Menu
I have a Blu-ray project I'm working on. It's 1920x1080 resolution.
I have a main menu and then seven sub-menus as chapter-selection menus for three different videos.
The Main Menu has four buttons. Button one is a highlights video, button two takes the user to the first of three chapter-selection menus for the first video. Button three takes the user to the first of two chapter-selection menus for the second video and button four takes the user to the first of two chapter-selection menus for the third video. I have transitions from the main menu to each of the three chapter-selection menus and back from any of the seven chapter-selection menus to the main menu.
I also have a pop-up menu with the same four buttons on it as the main menu, except that the top button takes you to the main menu rather than playing the highlights video.
The problem I have is that all of the navagition works fine when moving around the menus, unless you open the pop-up menu during a video and navigate to one of the chapter-selection menus. When you do this, it works. It goes to the first page of the chapter-selection menu for any of the three videos, but if you then go to the main menu from there (each chapter-selection menu has a "back to main menu" button on it), it will play the transition, but then jump you to one of the chapter-selection menus for the video who's chapter-selection menu you were just on.
For example: If I play the highlights video and while it's playing I open the pop-up menu and choose Video 3, it will take me to the first chapter-selection menu for Video 3. If, once that menu comes up, I then scroll down to the "Back to Main Menu" button on that page and choose it, the transition from that menu to the Main Menu will play, but after it finishes, the Blu-ray will jump to the last chapter-selection menu page for Video 3. If I then navigate back to menu page 1 of the chapter-selection menus for Video 3 and choose the exact same "Back to Main Menu" button, the transition will play again and this time the Main Menu will open up.
The links for all of the menu buttons are correct, I've check them numerous times. It just seems that they get screwed up after you've navigated somewhere from the pop-up menu.
Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to try to explain it as best as possible.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.Hey Shark. I read your explanation of what's happening, but I am not sure why you are having that weird navigation issue. There are a lot of weird anomalies that happen with Encore authored blu-rays, and things that just don't work that really should. For the price, it does the job, but there are limitations.
Last year when I started using it for blu-ray authoring, there were non-stop road blocks and things to overcome.
Check out the documented misery. It gets better at the end .

2.1.2 update does not fix DVD Navigation issues :(
The FrontRow 2.1.2 update still doesn't fix the DVD navigation issues where sub menus on MANY DVDs are not navigable. Using the up / down keys on the keyboard or remote causes the Volume to change and not navigating the menus like it is supposed to.
This is a severe issue as it makes it impossible to play some DVDs or turn on the subtitles.Yeah, I have experienced this as well. Ridiculous -- how could this issue not have come up in product testing by the time the software has reached version 2.0? The solution on Apple's end should be obvious. All 4 directional buttons must act only as directional commands when using a DVD, and all other functions (such as volume) can only be accessible by hitting MENU first to bring up a list of other options.
I'm all for simplicity, but this is the fault of the boneheaded 6-button Apple Remote. It requires their software to overload buttons with different commands depending on context, which is clearly an unacceptable limitation. They'll have to break down and roll out a proper remote with more discrete buttons one of these days and come to terms with the fact that shoehorning everything onto 6 buttons is not an elegant solution. -

Report Navigation issue causing automatic logoff from OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2
Hi BI Experts,
Here is my unique problem i guess
the Environment is OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2 and using OOB Oc4j app server.
There are 4 Union Reports(Report1, report2, report3, report4) where we enabled Navigation from report1 to report2, report2 to report3, and report3 to report4. since this is Navigation from one Union Report to Another report, the OOB Navigation did not work.
Navigation piece was achieve using 'GONav' function so that Value selected from Report one is Passed as filter to second report and so on. The Problem is.....when Navigated from report1 to report2 until report3, the Navigation works fine and filters gets passed. when Navigating from Report3 to Report4, the OBIEE Users is automatically logged off and user has to enter the username and password to enter. When username/password is entered at this stage, the Report4 will run and display the results. Please help us immediately as we are live and this is P1 Issue.
we did not find this issue in DEV/UAT....its working fine after replacing the webcatalog from PRODUCTION back to DEV and UAT.
we tried trouble shooting this by
1. restarting all the BI Services including the OC4J
2. unpacking new webcatalog and
3. Increasing the JVM Size on Solaris
Please Help
Thanks

Emp1.EmpCode| Emp1.Empname| fact.Revenue

2|Jim|200
3|Terry|500
report 2 is like this (ie it contains fields from Emp2 dim table, Sales dim table and fact table)
Emp2.Empname|Sales.Salesnumber|fact.revenue
David|222|25
David|333|75
Jim|888|150
Jim|999|50
Terry|666|400
Terry|666|100
This is the issue,
I need to have a navigation on the revenue column of report1, so that it passes the value of Emp1.Empname to report2 (on other dashboard page) and displays me the report for that employee only. So for eg, if i click on '100' in report 1, it should pass the value of David to report2 and show me rows corresponding to David only. The issue is my Emp1 table and Emp2 table are two different tables, they just have Empname field in common. If it would have been same table in both the reports, I would have done Empname column "is prompted" in report2.
But How can I do that in this case? is there any way to take the value is some kind of variable and apply it to report2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
RonnyThanks Veeravalli,
But in mater detail view too, If I make Emp1.empname column as master, I will have to include the same column in the detail view too so as to limit the detail report on the basis of empname.
But in my case, I have Emp2.empname ( a different table) in my report2 which I want to limit on the basis on Emp1.empname column. Can I create a master detail report in which master column in Emp1.empname and detail column ( which is listening) is Emp2.empname?
I hope you got my point.
Thanks,
Ronny -
Navigation issue in an analysis expanded to All Rows
I have noticed strange behavior in OBIEE 11.1.1.3 when navigating from analyses which are expanded to All Rows.
For example: when the user navigates (collapses) a parent object in a hierarchy the expanded analysis reloads and returns to the default view of 25 rows, so the user has to expand it to All Rows again to be able to scroll down to the place of drilling.
Is there a way to keep the expanded view when navigating from analyses displayed in All Rows?
Changing the default number of records displayed per page in the instanceconfig.xml file doesn't solve the problem.After upgrading OBIEE to 11.1.1.6 version this issue still remains, but it is 'masked' with the larger bug in the Navigation in Parent Child Hierarchy.
Does anyone know if this 'object expanding' from All Rows and reload to the default view of 25 rows has been registered as a bug?
Is it included in one of the patches available for 11.1.1.6? -
IE doesn't display navigation menus or slideshows correctly
I'm fairly new to Muse and was pretty excited for it as an alternative to using Dreamweaver all of the time but now I wish it would come with a disclaimer that the sites created with it are not compatible across all browsers.
I have a simple horizontal navigation menu that won't work in IE but appears fine in Firefox and Chrome. The slideshows on the homepage as well as the project pages doesn't display correctly either. As you can imagine, the client is none too happy. Also, the Google map widget does not work correctly in IE either.
Are there known issues with IE? Are there any fixes short of redoing the site in another program?
The URL is: www.ethosthree.com
Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.We are experiencing similar issues. We have used the slideshow widget in Muse on several pages and it fails to work under IE 10 or IE 11, but works fine on all current versions of Firefox, Chrome, and Safari.

JSF Navigation issue with Webcenter OC4J and Open Portal JSF Bridge
Hi All,
I was wondering if anybody had experienced the same issue as per below:
I have a problem using the Open Portal JSF Portlet Bridge within a oracle webcenter OC4J. I have a trivial application with 2 jsps. The first has a single button, which when pushed navigates to the second screen.
This app works fine as a stand alone web app and also via the Oracle Faces Bridge using the OC4J. However, when I deploy using the jsfportletbridge 1.1.4 (I'm using the JSF 1.1) - it will not navigate from the first page. It simply refreshes the first page when clicked.
It looks like there is a problem with navigation. I have traced out the application (which I will include in full below), however the entries which looked relevant were (this occured after the first page was rendered):
07/06/05 23:49:19 [DEBUG] StateManagerImpl - Begin restoring view in session for viewId /hello.jsp
07/06/05 23:49:19 [DEBUG] StateManagerImpl - Session Available, but View State does not exist for viewId: /hello.jsp
07/06/05 23:49:19 [TRACE] LifecycleImpl - Creating new view '/hello.jsp'
My gut feel is that state is not being retained between requests, so it is just recreating the same view, however I'm at a loss to explain why
Attached below are the files used & trace log:

07/06/05 23:49:20 [TRACE] FacesPortlet - End FacesPortlet.render()I'm missing some things in your portlet.xml deployment descriptor.
It looks like your application doesn't make use of a JSF binding layer, so it should be enough to initialize a Faces lifecycle listener like this:
<init-param>
<name>DefaultPage.view</name>
<value>/index.jspx</value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<name>BridgeLifecycleListeners</name>
<value>
oracle.portlet.server.bridges.jsf.adf.ADFFacesBridgeLifecycleListener
</value>
</init-param>
The DefaultPage.view parameter specifies the default page of the application to use as the View mode for the portlet. Its location is relative to the web-app-context-root and always start with a /.
The BridgeLifecycleListeners parameter specifies the filter classes to use. You must ensure that your portlet.xml file is configured to match the filters specified in your web.xml file. If you do not have the proper classes defined in portlet.xml, then you will receive a missing class error. You specify the classes in the BridgeLifecycleListeners init-param in your portlet.xml file:
<init-param>
<name>BridgeLifecycleListeners</name>
<value>listener_class_n[,listener_class_n+1,...]</value>
</init-param>
For example, suppose that your application includes AdfFacesFilter filter in its web.xml:
<filter>
<filter-name>adfFaces</filter-name>
<filter-class>oracle.adf.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilter</filter-class>
</filter>
You would then need to include the following class in your portlet.xml:
<init-param>
<name>BridgeLifecycleListeners</name>
<value>oracle.portlet.server.bridges.jsf.adf.ADFFacesBridgeLifecycleListener
</value>
</init-param>
Similarly, suppose that ADFBindingFilter filter is defined in web.xml as follows:
<filter>
<filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
<filter-class>oracle.adf.model.servlet.ADFBindingFilter</filter-class>
</filter>
You would then need to include the following in your portlet.xml:
<init-param>
<name>BridgeLifecycleListeners</name>
<value>oracle.portlet.server.bridges.jsf.adf.ADFFacesBridgeLifecycleListener,
oracle.portlet.server.bridges.jsf.adf.BindingFacesBridgeLifecycleListener
</value>
</init-param> -
Navigation issue with Open Script ,Windows 7 64 bit, window 8 combination
Problem: whenever we run Argus automation on Windows 7 64 bit, window 8 combination we are not able to perform any action after we navigate to the Application URL
Step 1: browser.launch - This is working file
Step 2: web.navigate(Application); - Navigation is also working fine, but after navigation Playing status is not displayed in the browser toolbar.
Step 3: web.button(XPath).click(); -This step fails.
Edited by: Manish Bhatla on May 15, 2013 11:50 PMI had the exact same problem and I noticed that the same thing started happening with other programs along with adobe reader. What i discovered was that at least in my case, the issue was that Adobe Reader uses the temp folder on your computer. Mine happened to grow to about 35 gigs and because of that whenever a program tried to write anything to the temp folder, it would hang forever. Once i cleared my temp folder everything started working properly again for all programs including adobe reader.
the way i did this was from
My Computer -> Right click properties -> Click Disk Cleanup.
It will scan for all places that it will need to do disk cleanup on. Mine took a good 20 minutes because of the temp folder. Afterwards, look through the list of items that it scanned and make sure you select the temp folder option. Along with this you can probably clear out any other folders that are taking up a lot of memory. Clear these folders and try running Adobe Reader again. The process of clearing may take a very long time if your temp folder happens to be really large. But it was well worth it for me because everything started running quickly again. Anyways hope this helps for you as well. -
FITV POWL TRIPS - Portal Navigation Issues of Custom POWL
Hi All,
This is a bit lengthy as I tried to make everthing as clear as possible.
Here is my requirement:
To create a custom POWER List (POWL) that will display the travel plans, travel expenses, and travel requests of employees, all in one table. This is almost equivalent to that of 'My Employees' page, except that data coming from different employees are consolidated into one table.
Action Taken:
I've created a modified copy of the Feeder Class CL_FITV_POWL_FEEDER_TRIPS and the corresponding Web Dynpro Component FITV_POWL_TRIPS. Also, I've enhanced CL_FITV_NAVIGATION~GET_RESOURCE_KEY, by manually telling SAP to use the resource key of the custom dev't. This is necessary during navigation (i.e. From the custom POWL, after creating a Travel Expense, SAP would know how to navigate back to the custom POWL.)
When tested thru SAPGUI, everything is working fine and as expected. But, when tested from the Portal, the issue occurs.
Scenario: From the custom POWL, try to create an expense report. Then, cancel the expense report creation.
Expected Result: Custom POWL (both custom feeder and custom dynpro component) will be displayed.
Actual Result: The custom dynpro component is displayed with the data coming from the standard feeder.
As I checked the issue, I found that in the method CL_FITV_NAVIGATION~NAVIGATE_TO_OBJECT, there's a different logic for when navigation is done in the Portal and when in SAPGUI. When run from Portal, some method POWL_QUERY_REFRESH is called. Here lies the issue. The import parameter I_QUERY_DATA contains information for the standard feeder, and not the custom feeder. But, when run from SAPGUI, this import parameter contains the correct values.
Now, my question is, where does the value in I_QUERY_DATA come from? How does the Portal handle navigation between objects?
I have also investigated that when run in SAPGUI:
1. Dynpro Init - initialization of dynpro component
2. Navigate to Creation of expense report
3. Navigate back to Dynpro - THIS INITIALIZES THE COMPONENT AGAIN
When run in Portal:
1. Dynpro Init - initialization of dynpro component
2. Navigate to Creation of expense report
3. Navigate back to Dynpro - THIS DOES NOT INITIALIZE THE COMPONENT, BUT ONLY REFRESHES THE DATA
I hope I made things clear and provided all necessary information for anyone to understand the issue.
Thanks and Regards,
Allenhi,
You should create new class for this powl. Then, you can catch your delete button click action. You can find all from transaction
