Origin - edge limitation on VOD but not on LIVE

Hi ,
we have an origin server where video materials are stored and one edge where clients are conected to.
If i allow clients to connect directly to core server it can go easily to 1000 users without any problems.
If the clients connects to edge after 100 users the player will start buffering the video every few seconds.
On the other hand if i connect a FMLE to core ( same video bitrate as materials already encoded ) clients can connect to edge and there is no problem
( tested with 1000 users ) and no buffering issues appeared.
There is no IO wait problem on core, edge is configured not to use any cache.
There is no connectivity isssue between master and edge.
Both origin and edge are 4.0.3.
Anyone experienced anything similar or has any ideea why this is happening ?

CSS rules show up in design mode, but not in live or in browser.

So some rules work in the browser some appear when in design mode, but not in live mode or in the browser.
In one case there is no competing rules I applied background color and border color to a dynamic table and I see the colors in design view. In another there is a competing rule, but the one that wins is #content, when the rule I want #content #footer p is (obviously) a compound and at the bottom of the rules.
Any thoughts?

AH In preparing my stylesheet to show you, I noticed the rule above those two was missing it's ending curly brace. Problem solved! That's what I get for checking code when I am sleepy!

Edge Inspect syncing content, but not styles

Hi everyone,
I've got Edge inspect running/syncing, but no styles are coming though when viewing a local site. I can go to www.google.com and it will look as intended, but when going to localhost/mysite I get just content - no styling.
Any ideas? Here's what I'm running:
Windows 7 Ultimate
Chrome 23.0.1271.97
Android 4.0.4

Another possible solution is to place this in your local WordPress site's wp-config.php file just after your database settings and just above the security key settings:

How come I can see my div in design view but not in live view

Hi,
I have a div ID called "portfolio" that I can see in design view but not live view or on a browser. It's a little pink square and I want that square round also.
I ran it through validator. It picked up some things in the style.css which I changed and the boilerplate.css that I did not. Because I thought DW auto creates code for boilerplate because I don't enter that code myself.
It's also rejecting a lot of webkit code but this seems like standard webkit code that works elsewhere on the page.
BTW: at what point does this brutal hand coding pay off in money and less heartache when Wordpress looks cleaner and is so much easier to use? I feel like I barely know HTML or CSS in terms of translating vision to reality and with all-browser functionality after months and months of on-line classes. How long are the pros at it till they reach a watershed point?

The top:-300 is putting that div above the top of the browser viewport. Fix that and you'll see the div.

Printing a fillable .pdf originally created in Forms Central, but not submitted properly?

HELP!
I created a scholarship application for High School Seniors, but most of them found the submit button didn't work for them, so they just saved and attached the fillable .pdf to an e-mail. So, now I have these .pdf files that because they were created in Forms Central, cannot be uploaded to Forms Central for data manipulation. Also, it seems I an unable to easily print these files with the filled sections visible. I also tried converting them to .docx and .xlsx, but the filled data didn't convert. I need to distribute these applications to my committee somehow for voting! If I can't print them, nor can I distribute them through Forms Central... what can I do???

They need to be filled out using Adobe Reader. The students filled them out with a PDF Reader that doesn't properly support PDF forms.
Do you have Adobe Acrobat? If you open those forms in Adobe Acrobat and do a save as it will fix the issue.

Animation works in browser preview, muse browser preview but not when live in Chrome!

I have an Edge animation that worked fine in Chrome, Safari and IE.
The last time I published my Muse site (To BC) again (since update to CC2014) it no longer worked in Chrome!
Preview in browser (Chrome) from edge works, preview in browser (Chrome) from Muse works, publish and it doesn't work in Chrome (but does in Safari and IE).
Have been trawling for possibilities but I'm not that web techy! Any help would be appreciated

I tried putting a graphic underneath in Muse so that at least with edge not working in Chrome, nor showing the poster frame, there would be something there as shown here:
However this did not work in Chrome so I simply see the stage BG colour with no animation as shown here:
I have made sure that the stage action is set to play the animation - it is nothing more than simple text and rectangles moving in, and then a video (the same px size as the stage) coming in a the end.

My pages are missing in design view ?? but not in live view?

I have two sites up and running ... www.latheart.com and ... svwoodturners.org. Both are ok. This past weekl I installed chrome !@#$%^! didnot like it so I uninstalled it !@#$%^&! What a mess that caused. Some of the reg files had to be rewritten in the regesters also my photos also do not open automatically any more. The fonts were changed in almost everything. I think I have fixed most everything and then I found this problem with DW5. I do not know it that is related or how the htmls could even be affected. But both of my sites have the same issue. Applet loads/plays in preview, but not on live web host server

When I use FireFox 3 to browse to the flexdc08.htm document (yes, javascript is turned on) I get this message in the browser status bar Applet llp3 started.
But, only a blank page is ever displayed, nothing ever gets loaded, the application never starts.
Specifically, I am questioning this line of code in the flexdc08.htm file

The files llp3.class and skinw.jar do not exist. llp3.jar does exist.

The applet starts and plays fine when previewing from within Dreamweaver. It's just when it is published o the web host server and tried to access from there in a browser that it will not start.
Is there a good way to debug the applet startup?
These files were provided to us from a vendor on a CD, which plays when inserted into the PC drive.

Are you sure you are uploading the pages to the correct location?
Could you post a screen capture of your expanded files window, showing the remote server and local file structures?
I'm guessing they're not identical and that you may be uploading to a redundant root folder.

Could you post a screen capture of your expanded files window, showing the remote server and local file structures?
I'm guessing they're not identical and that you may be uploading to a redundant root folder.

SWF plays locally but not on live site

I created a popup html file which contains an swf with
animation and sound. On the homepage of the website, I defined an
"onClick" behavior to open this popup window containing the swf
file. This works fine locally on my computer, but when I put all of
the files on my server, the popup window opens but nothing appears
except the title of the popup in the title bar of the
window...other than that the popup is a blank white screen. I'm new
at this...what's wrong??? Spending way too much time on this!

yes...i uploaded the popup html file and the swf file...in
fact, the actual swf file will play if i type in the address to the
swf file, but if i open the index page and click on the text with
the clickOn behavior, the popup opens but is blank. Here's the

Style changes show in Design mode but not in Live View or online.

I'm using CS5. I modified a style sheet and the changes showed up in Design mode just the way I wanted them. I switched to Live View and they did not show up. I put the new style sheet on the server and it the changes do not show up online. The basic change was to add a border around some text that serves as a link to another page in the site. Preloader: works locally but not when live

1. give that you have website A, website B and local
directory structure
2. give that you have a class based (see code snippet 2
below) 444k swf
sitting on website A
3. give that you have a preloader swf on the local directory
structure
[that uses code in CODE SNIPPET 1]. _debug.text shows that
bytes total is
454103 and that the preloader rises smoothly up to that
point. great!
4. give that you move said preloader swf on to website B.
_debug.text
shows that bytes total is -1 for a bit, then undefined
and.... that's
about all until the swf actually finishes loading at which
point we
briefly see 454103 before displaying the swf
eh?

ok, the trick is to use MovieClipLoader instead. its
onLoadProgress method does just the job you want... :)

Why is Image in design view but not in browser?

Why when I insert an image from root folder it shows in design but not in live view or browser? I have opened a new blank html page and still no image will show up.

Do you have an editable region in your main Template head tags?
Just so you know. Making a template out of an HTML document is just about the last step in your design process.
First build your prototype.html page so that everything performs well in all browsers. When you're completely satisfied with how it looks, then Save As Template.dwt.
Add editable regions for content that will change from page to page.
Spawn New page from template and save as index.html for your home page. Repeat for other site pages.
