Orion-ejb-jar.xml is overwritten every deployment and not using from .jar

My application is an ear file containing a single jar and a war.
My configuration looks like:
/applications/<appname>/myejbs.jar
within myejbs.jar, exists meta-inf\orion-ejb-jar.xml
Every time I redeploy (copy .ear into /applications and restart server) a version of orion-ejb-jar.xml is copied into /application-deployments/myejbs/orion-ejb-jar.xml but it is not the version that I bundle within my jar. It appears this is the auto-generated version.
Why is this file being overwritten? I thought it should detect if a version of orion-ejb-jar already exists and leave it intact if so. Is there a config setting I've missed somewhere?

Well, we had the some problem.
We solved it when we wrote in the orion-ejb-jar.xml deployment version for actual oc4j.
example orion-ejb-jar.xml for oc4j 904:
<orion-ejb-jar deployment-version="9.0.4.0.0">
or
<orion-ejb-jar deployment-version="1.5.0">
example orion-ejb-jar.xml for oc4j 903:
<orion-ejb-jar deployment-version="9.0.3.0.0">

  • Where is the doc for xml task options for deploy and ojdeploy-build ?

    I am a new user.
I tried using jdev help to find my answer, but got lost quickly in the zillions of manuals.
    1) Where is the manual/doc for the xml task attributes/options for the Ant tags <deploy> and <ojdeploy-build>?
I am modifying an xml script that ojdeploy will call, but do not know what attributes/options are supported for these tags. I need to know whether an option such as failonerror exists, so that I can report a bug that <deploy> does not default to fail on error (or that <ojdeploy-build> ignores the error and continues with the script.
    Followup questions:
    2) How do I find the java code that implements the tags <deploy> and <ojdeploy-build>?
    3) How do I report a bug on the implementation for these tags and propose a fix (assuming I can see the java source code)?

I guess I wasn't clear enough. What I tried to say was:
    1) Where is the manual/doc for the xml task attributes/options [I meant to say attributes/elements] for the Ant tags [I meant to say tasks] <deploy> and <ojdeploy-build>?
I did not mean the ojdeploy command, but the Ant tasks <ojdeploy-build> and <deploy>.
The jdev help does not seem to provide the complete list of elements or attributes for these critical Ant tasks, though it has a few examples.
So far, it appears that <deploy> has been misdesigned and I cannot do what I want, which is to "failonerror" (failonerror="true" should be the default but the opposite is true and there is no attribute to change the setting).
You could consider this to be a bad flaw in Ant itself, that you cannot get the exit code from every Ant task (since they are java programs they do have an exit code), so when new tasks are implemented by folks who lack experience they may leave out access to this programming feature that is however implemented for a bunch of important core Ant tasks such as "java" or "exec". It would have been far more useful to make this a generic feature of all Ant tasks. Of course then folks would be asking for stuff like "fail if" or "fail unless" and where would it end? Maybe with a real programming language like TCL but in XML form.

  • Deployed Baseline Not Using Latest Config Item Revision

I have made sure that the baseline is set to use latest revision, and even redeployed the baseline to some test machines, but they all still show and old revision.
I have deployed another baseline with the same behavior. In both cases the initial revision is the one listed.
    Can anyone explain why?
    We are on 2012 SP1 CU4.
    Cheers

    Hi,
Have you tried to remove the old deployment, wait for the baseline disappear from the client? Then re-deploy the baseline.
    Best Regards,
    Joyce

Hi Joyce, Yes i have just tried that.
I think the issue was due to my misunderstanding: The default views for Configuration Items and Configuration Baselines; only Configuration Item's show Revision in the displayed fields. I now realise that Configuration Baselines also have Revision numbers
in the DB, and that the Revision displayed in the Client control panel applet refers to the Configuration Baseline and not the Configuration items. I could not tell as they were both the same until a made a change to the CB and the number changed.
I think this is very misleading behaviour: If I change a CI, the revision of the CB is NOT changed. This seems totally nonsensical when you consider that simply changing the name of the CB increments the revision??
There is no way on a client machine using the control panel applet to determine if the revised CI has been downloaded or not and the compliance results you are seeing . You can obviously run a machine policy eval, but without checking the logs you don't
    know for sure.

  • Loading File (not-image) from JAR ..

Here s the jar structure i have:
    myapp.jar:
    -- package1:
    -- -- *.class
    -- file.ext
    -- image.gif
How come i cant create inst. of File with the new File(with getClass().getResource("/file.ext").getFile()); ??
There s no problem with loading the image, but the other file always fails .. it says that the path is wrong (i guess it s beacause file:\D:myapp.jar!\file.ext is not a 'real' file-system path). How can i load a file from jar, without using getResourdeStream, without any temp files .. I would really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.
Edited by: kokoroko on Dec 23, 2007 12:16 PM

i need an inst. of the File class pointing to tht file. The only file mentioned in your OP is D:myapp.jar and you can get the corresponding File object by parsing the string returned by getFile(). Notice it will still only be a valid file if getResource() returns a file: URL - something that cannot be guaranteed.
The point bears repeating, perhaps: D:myapp.jar!\file.ext is not a file. It is a resource (accessible via an input stream). Because it is not a file there is not - and never will be - any File object which represents its name.
I was ( and I m still) thinking tht it could be some classpath-and-sh**t problem. The classpath has a bearing on where a resource will be looked for, but says nothing at all about what is looked for. In this case you simply cannot "load" the file (whatever "load" means) because there is no file to load.
Finally, it is quite possible that you can do whatever it is that you are trying to do. But you have yet to say what that is: not how you want to do it (by instantiating a File, not by creating a temporary file or using an input stream), but what you want to do.

  • ImageIcon not loading from Jar file

    Hi,
I'm developing an application that uses ImageIcons in JButtons.
The images are stored in the following relative dir:
    images/<filename>.jpg
They load fine when I run the application from class files in the appropriate directory.
However when I jar everything, my ImageIcons don't load.
I know that my jar file is in the classpath, because other items in the jar file load successfully.
I've tried everything the related threads recommend, but still nothing.
When I try to launch from the jar file, the ClassLoader.getResource("filepath"); returns null.
Whereas when I launch the class files, it returns the correct URL for the image.
What am I missing? Is this jar file security-related? Do I need to sign the jar file with all-permissions?
Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
    I'm using java 1.4.2_01-b06
    Much thanks,

  • How does xalan.jar work with jdk1.3.1 and not work with jdk1.4.1

    Hi,
i am using java, xalan, xerces for web development. The environment is jdk1.4.1, xerces.jar, xalan.jar. i am facing problem while transforming xml, xsl. Its giving the following error

I tried with jdk1.3.1, xalan.jar, xerces.jar. Its working fine. Can anyone tell me what is the problem with jdk1.4.1 ?
    Regards
    Ashok

I have the same problem, but the version within SUN seems imcomplete, what version is ?
For example I am using the xsl tag library provided by Apache (I know this now deprecated). In its ApplyTag.java it uses XSLTDataSource this is not in the SUN 1.4 distribution so it falls over. If I add XALAN 1.0.1 it falls over because it on getDefaultLiason() because it starts loading somne classes from rt.jar and some from xalan.jar, how are you meant to override this.

  • Superseding Application Installed when NOT deployed and NOT set to Automatically Upgrade

    SCCM 2012 SP1
I have an application of Adobe Reader X which is deployed as "available" to the "All Workstations" collection.  (It is also installed as part of our OSD task sequence for all workstations, if that matters.)
Some months ago I packaged Adobe Reader XI and did NOT set it to supersede Adobe Reader X.  It was deployed as available to a small user collection.
Flash forward to yesterday.  I wanted Reader XI to be available to all IS staff, but not to automatically install for any of them or to automatically replace existing Reader X installs for anyone.   I went into my existing Adobe Reader XI application
and set it to supersede the Adobe Reader X deployment type.  I then deployed Adobe Reader XI as "Available" to my "IS Staff" user collection and did NOT select the "Automatically upgrade any superseded versions of this application."
Overnight, all existing installs of Adobe Reader X were replaced by Adobe Reader XI on all workstations that were powered on during the maintenance window.  I was understandably surprised and double-checked my deployment settings.  It *is* deployed
as "available" to all IS staff and to the pre-existing user collection.  and verified that I do not have Adobe Reader XI deployed to ANY other collections other than the original small user collection and now to my IS Staff collection, both
    as "Available".
I checked APPINTENTEVAL.log on some of the affected workstations and noted that once I had created the supersedence relationship, all workstations that I've checked started logging as "Applicability = Applicable" and as soon as the maintenance window
    started, they installed.
I'm very confused.  I've used Application Supersedence many times, and it has never applied to a collection to which the superseding application was not deployed.  Can anyone suggest a mechanism I might have missed that made this app evaluate as
applicable on every workstation that had Reader X deployed to it?  I'm confident that it should have have.

Is Reader XI used in a (OSD) task sequence?

  • Is a copy of .xml file on the iPod too? If so, how can I copy ONLY the .xml file to my computer and NOT have to copy all my music files too?

I had to re-load my OS (Windows XP Pro) from a HD snapshot via Acronis True Image Server. I save my OS on my C: drive and all my data files on my D: drive.  So when I re-loaded my OS, I still have all of my music files intact.
I have re-loaded the OS before and had to re-create iTunes library which I did by doing the follwing:
    1. cut & paste .xml file in iTunes folder to desktop
    2. delete .itl file in iTunes folder
    3. import .xml file through iTunes  file>library>iport playlist
    4. navigate to .xml file on desktop and import
This worked last time I re-loaded my OS but not this time for some reason.
So I'm wondering if there is a copy of the .xml file on the iPod itself in the iPod_Control folder that I can copy and paste to my comuter desktop and import via the above steps?
I have seen all kinds of solutions on the web that include copying the music files from the iPod to the computer.  I don't need to do that.  I have the music files.  I just need the .xml file so iTunes can talk to my iPod (5th Generation - 30G).

Backup your music library, that is the only way to ensure it does not go missing through theft, damage, operator error, machine breaks, upgrades go wrong, operator goes wrong .........

We're generating some xml web feeds for our website from relational data using SQL/XML operators. I fetch the xml into a PLSQL CLOB variable using XMLSERIALIZE, which i then return to my java application.
Our site has seen a huge increase in activity and requests to our feeds, and our DBA is reporting we're running out of temp tablespace. We've increased temp tablespace, but he also mentioned that memory consumption is steadily increasing, eventually, DB instance needs to be bounced, otherwise it crashes.
I've discovered that my block of code that builds and returns the xml is causing abstract lobs to increase, but never recedes.
Re-reading the following from 11gr2 Large Objects guide:
Temporary LOBs created in a program block as a result of a SELECT or an assignment are freed automatically at the end of the PL/SQL block or function or procedure. You must also free the temporary LOBs that were created with DBMS_LOB.CREATETEMPORARY to reclaim system resources and temporary tablespace. Do this by calling DBMS_LOB.FREETEMPORARY on the CLOB variable.
    Note:
If the SQL statement returns a LOB or a LOB is an OUT parameter for a PL/SQL function or procedure, you must test if it is a temporary LOB, and if it is, then free it after you are done with it.
Also learned the following (as of 10gr2)
A new column named 'ABSTRACT_LOBS' has been added to the V$TEMPORARY_LOBS table. This column displays the number of abstract LOBs accumulated in the current session. Abstract LOBs are temporary lobs returned from queries involving XMLType columns.
so my question is, is my java application responsible for freeing up the LOB? It seems freeing the lob in my PL/SQL function has no effect, since it returns the LOB to JAVA.

    Hi Odie,
Calling it with an CallableStatement... packaged function returns a clob.
My DBA is having trouble tracking down the temp lob usage in production it seems. And I question whether my little test case i did in our development environment is actually correct. I tested by calling my packaged function in a sql statement then selecting from v$temporary_lobs. that is where i was seeing abstract_lobs increasing.
Not 100% sure this is what is happening though when calling from an CallableStatement in Java.
That said, I have added some java code to check whether the CLOB returned from my function is temporary, and if so, I free it using the oracle.sql.CLOB implementation. The java code is logging that it is indeed a temporary lob and does free it. I can't confirm though whether this is impacting the temp lob count in the DB, since I believe v$temporary_lobs is based on current session.
