OS 10.4.7 G5 with HPLaserjet 5000N printer

Been trying to connect printer for 3 days. Ethernet network sees other computer (G4) and Internet, but not HP 5000N.
Downloaded and installed current driver (HPLaserJetv5_52.dmg) which is supposed to compatible with all OS 10 versions and Mac's. Printer setup utility sees no printers.
Oddly, HPLaserJetv5_52.dmg downloads 330+ files to startup drive, but I can't find any of them. Downloaded and installed twice.
Have tried everything I could find in help files (I think). Please help...

before I try to figure those out, I found and downloaded "Printer Setup Repair", which gave me the following info. Do I need to reinstall system software?

Acrobat 8: Advanced > Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader
Acrobat 9: Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
Acrobat 10: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features
Acrobat 11: File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools (includes form fill-in & save)

I was using OS Snow Leopard and on 8/1/13 I downloaded Mountain Lion and found out it was not compatible with my HP printer (HP photosmart C5580) so I called Apple and asked how to get Mountain Lion off and Snow Leopard back on. The Tech told me to

Then I found out it was not compatible with my HP Printer (HP Photosmart C5580 all-in-one) so I called Apple support and the tech told me to erase the hard drive instead of going in the time machine. Well I did that and then it took about three hours three days a week for about three weeks on the phone with an apple tech to get all my stuff back on my computer. I have had trouble with my printer (won't do the scan anymore and wasn't printing on my DVDs. Also the computer keeps freezing up when it is in the sleep mode, etc.
When I tried to list my problem on this forum it lists your OS at the bottom and mine had Mountain Lion listed as what I was using so apparently it didn't erase it. Want to know how to get Mountain Lion off and put my Snow Leopard on so things start working right.

Go to the  menu/About This Mac - what OS version shows there?
Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
Revert to a Previous OS X
Revert to Snow Leopard
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

HP computer will not work properly with an HP printer

I have the following two items that I am trying to use together:
- HP 23" TouchSmart Desktop, T6500 2.1GHz 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD (Windows 7)
- HP OfficeJet 6500 Multi-Function Printer/Scanner/Fax
When I try to scan to Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.0, the document goes through the scanner, however the dialog box that I would expect (e.g. "Next Page" or "Done") never shows up. At this point, the system is unresponsive with respect to Adobe or the printer.
I suspect that it is waiting for the input from the dialog box that never showed up. I tried to move the other windows to see if the dialog opened in the background, however I am not able to select any of them (they remain frozen).
I contacted HP Support, only to have them tell me it must be the driver, and I have an "old" printer. (I did not realize that a 9 month old printer was considered "old"). I have tried all of the possible drivers that are available (original disk, downloads, other downloads from HP tech support), none of these resolves the problem.
In any case, they were unable to resolve the problem of having an HP computer work properly with an HP printer. (The printing function seems to work, just very slowly).
Has anyone else heard of this? Is there a resolution?

Update: I am still looking for a solution to this problem - the scanning portion of the Multi-function OfficeJet 6500 does not work properly with the HP TouchSmart computer.
I have not been able to find anyone in HP that can tell me when (or if) new drivers will be released for this printer.
I decided to investigate upgrading to a newer version of printer since HP told me the 9 month old printer I have was "obsolete", only to find that the identical printer is still on sale in many stores. Hmmm....
I feel like I am getting the run-around from HP.
I have since tried several more driver/software combinations, but every time I have the same problem (as described in the previous post).
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I would be most happy to hear them.

Can anybody tell me how set up a printer in ECC 6.0, Please tell me step by step. Its related with iw32 and printing. Please explain over all I never setup printer through SAP.
My another question is more of a Basis question since I cant find a basis thread Im posting here,
The developer trying to connect to courion but some how the Courion connector did not work so we added sap_all, sap_new to the courion ID but it worked once and then its not working again.
I was wondering if anybody has any idea about this. Please give me some thought or recommendation. (Courion is some other software)

Hi I would be grateful if someone can help me, I have just bought a canon wireless printer, I only have an iPad so I can not install the cd that comes with the new printer yet it says it is compatible. How do I get it working I have a pay as you go 3G sim

I do not use the Internet using wifi I use 3G mobile broadband and if I do need wifi it tells me I have to pay for it, but I can not work out how to install or connect my iPad with my new printer if there is not a cd slot or USB port. I only have an iPad no computer so how on earth do I use my printer with it if it I can't install the printer cd. I though I would be able to use Bluetooth and it would pick it up automatically but I am really confused now and don't know what to do please help.

The iPad uses AirPrint technology to print to a printer. Check this Apple support page to see if your printer is listed as being AirPrint compatible.

If your printer works with AirPrint you will need a Wi-Fi network in order to connect. That Wi-Fi network does not need to be connected to the Internet. As James Ward4 says, you'll need a Wi-Fi router to set up your network. Most routers require that a computer be used during the setup process. Perhaps you could use someone's computer to do the setup if you do not had one yourself. Once the router is set up you should be able to print.

I don't think you can connect a printer since you won't have the printer drivers. I use FingerPrint from collobos.com to print to my non-AirPrint printers.

Hi.....my laserjet 1536dnf mfp was working perfectly with win 8 pro....then I installed win 8.1 pro and now the computer ,which is part of a network,can not communicate with the scanner of the printer--it prints just fine. On another computer (running win 7 ) on the same network, the scanner and all other printer functions work just fine.
I have tried installing the latest drivers from HP......scanner still not "communicating" with computer.....also temporarily disabled firewall.....please help...all the best -David G (gossat)

Try resetting the SMC. The phone connection is only supported for tethering. I know nothing about the other device.

Unfortunately, when setting up a new/replacement printer, you wont be able to use the same email address, nor can it be transferred to another printer. Once an email is used, the email address itself is not able to be used for a certain period of time (which I believe is 6 months).
However, by creating a new email address, but adding an 01 or 02 at the end, you can get something very similar to what you had previously.

Please run the Print and Scan Doctor. Write me back with the results or post a screen shot of the results and I will have a look at them.
This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.

Problem with shared HP930C printer on home network

We have 2 networked computers at home -- one is Windows XP with an HP930C printer attached, the other is Windows Vista 32-bit with a Canon iP3600 attached. Both printers are shared across the network. Both computers will print to the Canon printer. We used to able to use the HP printer from both computers. Then it was detached for many months, and now we cannot use it from the Vista computer.
The HP printer can be seen from Control Panel of both computers. But when we try to print from Vista, a dialog box appears and disappears so quickly that it cannot be read -- nothing appears in the printer queue and nothing prints. I downloaded and ran the HP Home Network Diagnostic Utility on the Vista computer, but it did not find the HP printer.
I've checked everything I can think of, and I've run out of ideas. Can anyone help, please?

I see you are experiencing connectivity issues. I would like to help.
I would recommend powering down the printer and computers. Once they are off, I would recommend removing the power cord from the router and waiting 60 seconds. After the alloted time, plug the router back in and let it broadcast, then power on the printer and computers.
