OS Mavericks and attachment troubles in email
Since downloading OS Mavericks my email will not put the attachments in, which is very annoying. Strangely if I go to a draft version of the email the attachment IS there, however only one attachment per email, yet often I need to send more than one attachment. Any help? I have read some other tips online but cannot make clear sense of them.
Hello,
I go to the paperclip above the email message to attach,
Then to choose file (comes up on another page, in a small square box)
Then Attach (bottom right of page)
There is a little green circle, as if it really is attaching, then it says the message is attached
I go back to the message and no attachment
BUT
If I go to draft saved draft of email message
The draft has an attachment
I often need to send more than one attachment, and even when I send 3 or 4 at once - in the draft email section, there is only one attachment to one draft e email (even though I have composed only one email with 3 or 4 attachments, I end up with one attachment to one email in draft)
Hope this make sense
I have not tried the menu option File and attach... have always gone to the paperclip

Is there a 'send to' widget I can attach to a pdf document or form to send pdf without downloading and attaching to an email (one click send function)
From this conversation's thread it appears that Acrobat is not the application / service at issue.
As this user forum has as its focus "Acrobat" it seems that the OP is in the wrong place.
Acrobat's one click send feature provides the user a "draft" email. The user still has to process ("click") through steps with the email client/service to actually get the email out and on its way.
I'm sure that "one click" does everything is available somewhere. Considering all it'd have to do and do right it'd be rather expensive.

Override default send from email id and attachment name in email delivery
How to override the default send from email ID and attachment name to send an outbound document using Email Transport protocol in Oracle Integration B2B ?. I've seen that "[email protected]" and subject of the email message were used as send from email ID and attachment name respectively
Ramesh,
I set the send from email ID as Generic Identifier for host and send to email ID as Generic Identifier for trading partner and used it in the agreement. How ever still the email message is generated with "[email protected]" as send from email ID.
However I noticed that the "FROM" field in the wire message is updated with the correct send from email ID which I used as the Generic Identifier for host.
Please advise. -

Exporting a crystal report as PDF and Attaching to an email via code - Filename Issuses?
Post Author: alynch
CA Forum: .NET
I need to export a crystal report as a pdf and send it out via email. I have created a subroutine that works but the attached filename come up as "untitled.txt" so the receiving machine believes it is a text file. If I rename it on the recipients machine to a ".pdf" I can open it with acrobat and it looks OK. Does anyone know how to rename the file as a pdf prior to sending it out?
Thank You.

I have included a copy of the subroutine:

Retrieve images from DB and attach them to email through javamail
Hi,
I'm trying to use javamail to send emails containing text and images (HTML mail), if I use a physical file in my computer as the image source and use FileDataSource everything works just fine. The problem is that the images in my app are stored into a DB (I'm using MySQL, java struts & DAO), so in order to retrieve & display them I use a jsp that returns a byte array as shown in the example bellow
<img src='getImage.jsp?itemId=<bean:write name="item" property="itemId"/>&heigth=180&width=140&imageIndex=1'/>getImage.jsp reads the image from the DB for the specified item and returns an image of size "heigth*witdh", this works fine when invoked from any jsp or java action class, but I can't get it to work to insert an image into an email as attachment
I've tried to use ByteArrayDataSource and the mail is sent correctly and can be read but the image won't show
bds = new ByteArrayDataSource("/getImage.jsp?itemId="+itemId+"&heigth=180&width=140&imageIndex=1", "image/jpeg");
imageMime.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(bds));
imageMime.setHeader("Content-ID", "<\" + itemId + \">"); // backslashes aren't there in the real code, but if I remove them '+ itemId +' won't show
mailParts.addBodyPart(imageMime);I've also tried with URLDataSource but can't get it to work either, can somebody plz point me in the right direction?
thanks in advance
Edited by: informacionCubica on Jun 8, 2009 3:46 PMHello bshannon,
Thanks for your answer, I tried your suggestion but when I use URLDataSource I get the error message http 500 (in my original post I said that using URLDataSource the mail was sent but without the image... my mistake, I was getting this same error). I traced the error and I found that it is caused by a null pointer exception... let me explain
This is the code for the jsp that returns the image:
4 <jsp:useBean id="coverImage" class="com.mqm.struts.getImageAction" scope="session" />
5 <%
6 // Desired size of the image to return
7 int heigth = Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter("heigth"));
8 int width = Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter("width"));
9
10 // Each item can have up to 6 images (ordered by id), this indicates wich of one we have to return
11 int imageIndex = Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter("imageIndex"));
12 byte[] imgData = coverImage.getItemImageAction(request.getParameter("itemId"), request,heigth, width, imageIndex );
13 response.setContentType("image/jpeg");
14 OutputStream o = response.getOutputStream();
15 o.write(imgData);
16 o.flush();
17 out.clearBuffer();
18 o.close();
%> getImageAction is my DAO class that actually reads the image data from the DB, when I use this 'getImage.jsp' inside any other jsp in the app it works, but when used as described in the first post the request parameter in the line 12 doesn't have the session info, apparently creates a new session or something and since I use information in the session to create the DAO factory I can't connect to the DB and get this error..
pls tell me if I explained my self or I'm just talking non sense

[http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Bookmarks] <br />
'''All''' bookmarks are in one of those 3 main folders. The bookmarks and folders that were imported from IE should be in the '''Bookmarks Menu''' folder.
There should be two different "down arrow" buttons to the right of the folder name ''(the appearance differs by operating system - IMO it's the best on WinXP)'', the left one allows you to select one of those 3 main folders, and the one on the right allows you to see the folders in the main folder that is selected. <br />''A silly interface, IMO, but it's been that way through 3 major version releases, so it has been consistent in it's lack intuitiveness.''
You might want to look at the Add Bookmark Here ² extension - that type of "Add Bookmark" window should have been the default in Firefox 3.o and newer versions: <br />

Is it possible to create a standard form that can be emailed to anyone and once filled out by the receiver, have a button that the receiver clicks and the form is encrypted and attached to an email back to the sender and a preset admin password would open it?
Hello Graphicsguy123,
You would need to first create the form ( or Widget in EchoSign) first to generate a url which you can paste it in the email being sent to customers. You would need to make sure you have a Document Cloud Enterprise Premium account in order to create a Widget. If you don't have the account, you can use the trial version to test it. Here is the link:

Using what I believe is the app Image Capture, exactly how do I go about scanning and attaching a PDF document in order to email it? After scanning it I'm having trouble locating it while attempting to attach it to an email. Thanks.
At the bottom left of the Image Capture window is a drop down menu called Scan To which will let you choose where your scan will be sent. Create a folder on your desktop named Scans and send your scans to it. Then rename the scan to whatever will help you remember what it is.
Then when in Mail you can click on Attach and find the Scans folder and attach your scan. -
How do I add an attachment to an email and not have it show up in the body of the email?
How do I add an attachment to an email and not have it show up in the body of the email?
You can right click or command-click on the image in the email and select "view as icon".
You can change the default behavior of Mail.app so that it always shows the attachment as the icon:
open a Terminal window (Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
at the prompt, type in this (it must be exact, or copy and paste it in if you have trouble typing things precisely):
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
Then hit return.
To revert to the previous default (where the attachment is visible in-line), you just enter the same command with "no" instead of "yes" at the end.
In either case, however, how the viewer of the email sees the attachment (either as an icon or in-line) depends on how their email client is set up, not on how you send it.

I have an apple ID, I'm trying to use this to update and download apps etc. however, whenever I try this, it keeps asking me to use my old ID, which is attached to an email that no longer exists! I can't download or update anything! Help!
You can log out of the currently logged in account by taping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and you can then log back in.
If you updated your existing account with a new email address then that shoud 'refresh' it on it
If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can redownload its content and download updates to its apps. You should be able to update an account's email address via this page : http://appleid.apple.com -
Problem with replies in Maverick's mail. Originating emails send fine. When replying to an email (various addresses) the reply is hung up and can not be sent. Option becomes put in draft, delete, etc. Any suggestions would be helpful. Mid 2013 iMac.
I don't know how rare this is. I went a week or so without a problem, and now it's starting to recur. Also, in some instances, an email will look unsent (remain in the outbox on the Treo), but it has been sent, and recipients are replying while I'm trying to figure out what is going on. Further, it will send the same email over and over during this madness.
This is a show stopper. If there isn't a software fix soon, I may chuck this phone in the garbage.
Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)
UPDATE: The problem comes and goes. The next day, no changes to the treo, everything workeds. Now i'm suspecting the sprint server, and how it/the phone responds from failing to send while roaming. I've since turned off roaming, and haven't had a problem for several days.

Need Help ASAP my State tax form is in a PDF file and the attachment in my email says Please wait...
I tried downloading updates like it said to but it still will not display the document. How do I print the PDF file ASAPCan you give us a LOT more info?
What email client? What version of Reader (I can only assume you even have Reader at this point)?
Please wait? I'm sure it says more than that, right?
Have you tried simply saving the PDF (it IS a PDF correct?) to your desktop and opening it from there?
Did you get this form from the IRS or did it come from somewhere else? If the IRS again, what version of Reader?
