OS X 10.4.11 Update and Javascript
I completed my software update this morning for 10.4.11 and everything is working fine except for some javascript coding that I was doing for a class. I completed the coding and checked to make sure it worked before I updated and it worked fine in Safari, Firefox, and an older version of Explorer. After I did the update to 10.4.11, I checked my page again to make sure it was still working and it wasn't and it still isn't. It is not executing the javascript coding; when the page loads it is just showing the actual coding and not executing the javascript.

If someone else is having this same problem or knows how to fix it, I would really appreciate it because it works fine on windows (my friend has a PC), just not on Mac. I thought that maybe it was just Safari because of the update, but it isn't working in my Firefox (2.0.0.8) or Explorer (5.2.3), so I would really appreciate any help!

It looks to me that the page content is corrupted. Just looking now, what is getting served up mangled somewhere inside the script block, and so the browser doesn't see a valid tag to end the script, and I guess is then ignoring the tag starting the script and just dumping the script content out as display text.
Maybe try re-loading your page content to the web server and checking it is fully and correctly uploaded.
Doesn't seem to be in any way specifically related to your Mac having 10.4.11 on it, just that the content on your web server is corrupted and maybe Safari 3.0 is displaying such corrupted content differently from your previous browser.
FWIW the page doesn't display as you intend (ie it shows some of the script source then some garbled characters) on Firefox on Windows either.

Based on the description, you got the error message when you update the apps from version 1.0 to 1.1.
From the error message, it seems the menifest include some settings no allowed in the new version. Would you mind sharing more detail about how you update the project?

First check whether the data exist with full combination of Name,Desc and City.
If not exist you can execute the create function.
If exist, get confirmation to delete the item by pop up. Using item ID you can perform Delete operation
To Update:
How you want to update the item, by keeping unique value or combination of columns?
based on that you can perform the update operation.

Safari not rendering CSS and javascript correctly
There seems to be a bug in Safari when dealing with CSS display property and javascript.
I've created a form that hides certain fields when the right circumstances are met, those fields become visible. However, when they become visible, through the use of javascript, they don't display in the flow of the document. For example:

[field 3]
Assume that [field 2] is hidden on initial page load. And when [field 1] is clicked, then [field 2] should appear and it should appear after [field 1]. Safari, however, displays [field 2] above [field 1] and strips it of any styles. I spent 2 hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, but it turns out I wasn't doing anything wrong. It's Safari that can't render this correctly because when I test it in Firefox it works fine. Just as I expected it to. I hope this gets fixed in the next update.
If anyone has any explanation or solutions or reasons for this peculiar anomaly please tell me.If you have not done so already, make sure you also tell Apple by using the Bug Reporting item in the Safari menu.

I have a Mac running OS X 10.6.8 and have installed all updates and have disabled Java Applets. Do I need to install antivirus software and, if so, do you have a recommendation on what works best.
Mac OS X versions 10.6.7 and later have built-in detection of known Mac malware in downloaded files. The recognition database is automatically updated once a day; however, you shouldn't rely on it, because the attackers are always at least a day ahead of the defenders. In most cases, there’s no benefit from any other automated protection against malware.
The most effective defense against malware is your own intelligence. All known malware that affects a fully-updated installation of Mac OS X 10.6 or later takes the form of trojans, which can only work if the victim is duped into running them. If you're smarter than the malware attacker thinks you are, you won't be duped. That means, primarily, that you never install software from an untrustworthy source. How do you know a source is untrustworthy?
Any website that prompts you to install a “codec,” “plug-in,” or “certificate” that comes from that same site, or an unknown site, merely in order to use the site, is untrustworthy.
A web operator who tells you that you have a “virus,” or that anything else is wrong with your computer, or that you have won a prize in a contest you never entered, is trying to commit a crime with you as the victim.
“Cracked” versions of commercial software downloaded from a bittorrent are likely to be infected.
Software with a corporate brand, such as Adobe Flash Player, must be downloaded directly from the developer’s website. No intermediary is acceptable.
Disable Java (not JavaScript) in your web browser(s). Few websites have Java content nowadays, so you won’t be missing much. This setting is mandatory in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier, because Java in those versions has bugs that make it unsafe to use on the Internet. Those bugs will probably never be fixed, because those older operating systems are no longer being maintained by Apple. Migrate to a newer version of the Mac OS as soon as you can.
Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be as safe from malware as you can reasonably be.
Never install any commercial "anti-virus" products for the Mac, as they all do more harm than good. If you need to be able to detect Windows malware in your files, use ClamXav — nothing else. -

When trying to launch/play chess from the yahoo games website, I get the following message: "Yahoo! Chess requires Flash Player 7 or later and JavaScript enabled in your browser''. I have verified that I do have Flash Player 10 installed and that JavaScript is enabled. I'm able to launch/play chess from Yahoo Games when I use IE as my browser.
You either do not have Flash installed for Firefox or it is disabled.
In Add-ons > Plugins, look for "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''".

What do I need to do to keep using The Design Premium CSx ??Short answer: You are [or eventually will be] outdated and out of luck.
I've been a master collection user since it's been availaboe, but I've been struggling with this and other questions, and have come to the conclusion that I need to be proactive in looking for alternatives, so when the day comes that CS6 stops working on new hardware, I'll have options.
My biggest concern is that with the current CC model, if a user decides to stop, or can't afford, their subscription fee, thirty days later they loose access to ALL THEIR CREATIVE WORK-- without monthly activation, all the CC software STOPS WORKING!
Moreover, after everyone is on the CC hook, what is to stop Adobe from charging $100 per month, or $300.... As a huge company driven by investors and quarterly profits they will charge whatever the market will bear. Many will be held hostage to the subscription fee, no matter how high it goes, because they won't be able to afford to loose access their creative work. So... going forward the market will probably bear a lot more than $49 per month.
Then, if this wasn't enough risk, there is also the dependence on the web and Adobe's IT infrastructure to keep the software "activated". I know it is probably extremely unlikely, but what if they suffer a cyber-attack like many other large and theoretically "secure" companies? What kind of havoc could an attacker wreak with the creative community if suddenly all our software stopped working? You may laugh, but I just read an article today on cNet Security about how Twitter's domain registration was hacked by SEA-- at least for a brief time, SEA was the admin for the Twitter domain records.
Since hearing Adobe's plans, I realised that over the years, with the exception of 3D, I've gravitated to Adobe for all my creative work-- they really do make great software. Even though this represents a huge investment in time and "learning curve", I've started to seriously evaluate alternatives. When the day comes that CS6 is no longer working on new hardware, I hopefully will already be using other brands.
My current thinking: If Apple makes FCP 11 a professional tool again, that would be my first choice for video. If they don't, I've been taking a hard look at Sony Vegas-- or there is always Avid. For compositing, while I really know and love After Effects, I have a copy of Eyeon's Digital Fusion that came free with Lightwave3D that I've never even installed. It is now out of the closet and sitting on my desk, waiting until I have a few minutes to install it to give it a try. For photo editing and vector graphics, I've been looking at the Corel suite-- I haven't used Corel in years, as it always seemed "clunky" compared to Illustrator, but it is a viable alternative, and used and loved by many. Photoshop is an industry standard and I've used it for fifteen years, but I also have both Gimp and Cinepaint on Mac, and use them frequently already. They aren't as capable or as slick as Photoshop, but they do everything I need, so photo editing is covered. As far as web tools, Dreamweaver is nice, but web development can be done with any editor. Flash (and all browser plugin technology) is being supplanted by HTML5 and Javascript, so loosing Flash, going forward, is no great loss. I haven't used it in over a year anyway, but f I really need 2D animation there is always (gasp) Silverlight, and maybe also other tools that I'm currently unaware of. InDesign isn't a concern for me as I almost never do print.
So bottom line for me: If Adobe works out a compromise where the software keeps working even if the subscription lapses, then it would be a different ballgame for me. I'd even be willing to agree to pay two or three year contract before the perpetual license kicked in. However, as it stands, the CC subscription (and potentially vanishing software) represents a level of trust in Adobe that I'm not prepared to give. -

from the system information you've submitted it appears that the java plugin by oracle is already present on your system (but not the latest version). if you're having problems downloading java update 7 from java.com you can also use the inbuilt updater for java, that is accessible in the windows control panel (see [http://www.java.com/en/download/help/java_update.xml]). -

RashedThere are dozens of CSS attributes that can (and have to) be handwritten. Trouble with them is that, like text shadows, they don't appear in all browsers. I have nine different browsers installed and test pages in ALL of them before I "finish" building site or page for a template.
I try to build for Firefox, out of personal preference for it, but I have to do things that work with IE because it still holds the market share (46%IE to 42%FF), and I will only go with designs that work in IE, FF, NS, Opera, Safari, and Chrome.
As to your questions.
1. The compatibility check is most likely current with the time of the build. I don't know if that component updates as browsers do, but I'd tend to think it doesn't. I'm using CS4 and there haven't been any updates for it in nearly a year. Firefox has released 4.0, Opera released 11, and Safari released 5 since then. The updater would have found and downloaded something if it was available.
2. I could only guess. Text shadows DON'T show up in design view (or in IE) but they do in browser preview. It's just a UI quirk, and it means "trial and error" is the onyl way to get what you want.
3. The quick-selects which are in DW dropdowns or popouts are the ones most common to CSS designs and have been proven to work with all browsers at the time of release of your particular build of DW.

Downloaded a flash player update and got google chrome. How do I get chrome off my computer????????
Once again I didn't notice the google chrome checkbox when I downloaded a flash player update, How do I get chrome off my pc? I don't appreciate being "tricked" into downloading stuff I don't want.
Flash Player has never been allowed on an iPad, and never will. In fact, it's not available on Android devices as well. This is for two reasons: First, Apple (and Steve Jobs in particular) never thought the performance on mobile devices was adequate. Second, Adobe eventually came to the same conclusion, and no longer distributes Flash Player on mobile devices.
The future is in HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. Most sites now don't require Flash Player and offer other ways to stream video. -
I am trying to update Adobe Bridge and Photoshop CS6, because it is not opening my CR2 files taken by my Canon 6D. I have tried to go to help > updates, and the software says that it is "Up to Date". However, if I view the plug-in, it says that Camera Raw is only version 7.1. I can not find a direct download for Camera Raw 7.3, only the DNG converter, NOT CAMERA RAW! Please Help!

about the September 2012
"Security Update 2012-004"
If you've got "Mail.app" in a folder OTHER THAN the root "Applications" folder,
MOVE "MAIL.APP" TO THE APPLICATIONS FOLDER
**BEFORE** INSTALLING THE "004" UPDATE!!
Because *IF* you use OSX's integrated Software Update app from the Apple menu to do the "004" updating, and *IF* your Mail.app is NOT in the Applications folder, then buddy, you've got some sitdown fixit time ahead of ya and/or some internet tie-up time downloading the "004" update file itself.
Been through it all, already. In fact, just got done getting my Mail back up & running. And I tried everything short of attempting to unpacking my "Mail.pkg" receipt file using... whatever... even Pacifist couldn't get it out. So that fixit "Plan D" died quick. And I'm not savvy enough to use Terminal commands to do "Plan E," so that SUDO stuff was my brick wall.
So I compressed my entire "Mail" subdirectory that contain all my emails, for safekeeping during the required surgery, or whatever would work, leaving the original Mail directory where it was. In case something bad happened in all my fixit whatevers, the one thing I *didn't* want to cross paths with was a hosed Library -> Mail folder. Then I'd be pssd. But I can wipe out that ZIP now 'cause all's well now. After 6 hrs of downloading thru a mobile broadband hotspot running at only 14KB/sec speed due to my having gone over my T-Mobile hotspot plan's bandwidth amount (throttled-down after reaching the limit, tho not cut off completely. Kinda nice, but it's a huge speed drop).
I tried moving the two Mail.app versions around, compressing them & then trashing the original so they wouldn't be recognized, blabla, even booted my Mac in Safe Mode & reinstalled the "MacOSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) Update Combo.dmg" update file, which in the past has fixed many problems. But after restarting, not this one.
Like a dummy who ignored knowing better, I had my Mail.app in a folder other than the Applications folder, with only an alias to that being in the Applications folder. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. The updater don't see that as nuthin special or useful.
So if you've got, like I've got, "old" icons for Mail.app (v4.5) in your Finder toolbar & in your Dock that all point to "Mail.app v4.5" in whatever folder you've got that in, other than in the Applications folder (where Apple apparently REQUIRES that it be located, and ONLY there, at least for OSX updating purposes), then after you download & autorun that "004" updater using Software Update, NONE of your pre-existing Mail icons will work. And MOST aggravatingly, **NOR** will your brand-new "Mail.app v4.6" work that came out of the "004" updating installation. So basically, your Mail.app's... all of 'em.... are hosed. But only if you run the "004" update without your "Mail.app v4.5" being located in your Applications folder and ONLY in your Applications folder. And duplicates of Mail.app, scattered around your HDD?? Always a problem with many Apple apps.... The Apple software engineers apparently like 'em to be in the Applications folder, and in ONLY there, and ONLY the latest version, and ONLY 1 single copy of each on your entire HDD. They just don't seem to stress that enough, it appears. Kind of an oversight for them to not emphasize that, IMO...
My recommendation for this particular September 2012 "004" update:
If you run Software Update, and if you see the "Security Update 2012-004" listed as available for download, UNCHECKMARK IT. DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT USING SOFTWARE UPDATE ! Instead, download the actual update file itself.
Same thing, only a different way of doing it. Most importantly, you'll be skipping the auto-installation that Software Update performs.
AND you'll have that update file on your HDD for future fixits, should a nasty "unfixable" problem come up.
First, #1. Do a filename search for "Mail" (Option-Command-Spacebar). Scroll down to where the "Apps" are located in the list under the "Kind" column heading. First, find your Mail.app that's v4.5. Get that bugger into your Applications folder if it's not already there. Next, Trash all other "Mail.app" apps you see in that same list that you may have elsewhere on your HDD.

And download the actual "004" DMG update file: "SecUpd2012-004.dmg"
And of course, it's a biggie.... 270MB... so watching grass grow may be involved here if you've got a slow connection (go to a MacDonalds & do it, like I shoulda done).
3. After downloading, I'd recommend closing down all apps, emptying the Trash, and restarting.
Then, after restarting, run Disk Utility's "Repair Disk Permissions."
Then, doublecheck that the Mail.app version 4.5 is in your Applications folder.
THEN fire up & install "SecUpd2012-004.dmg."
Reboot.
After the reboot, your Mail.app version 4.5 in the Applications folder will have become Mail.app version 4.6 in the Applications folder, and all will be well again.
And you can dump that zipped-up "Username -> Library -> Mail" folder then, too.
