Were you ever able to get this issue resolved? We are having the same issue with OER 11.1.1.4.
Cannot connect using the harvester or the api. (Everything else works fine.)

  • How to Harvest OSB project into OER

    Hi All,
I want harvest OSB11g project/services into OER 11.1.1.5.0. and these are installed on linux machine.
Can you please provide me the steps to harvest the services from OSB to OER.
    Thanks in advance.
    Madhu

    Thank you Sjoerd.
I have harvested the OSB projects into OER and then OSR using Exchange utility.
if dev server deployment is successful from OSB to OER and then to OSR - how to migrate the same artifacts from dev to Production?
How can we harvest multiple endpoints of OSB project to OER.
Plz provide any links or solution for migrating from dev to QA to Production.
    Thanks
    Madhu

  • Can we get the code from the project using OER

    Hi,
i have some question about the OER (Oracle Enterprise Repository).
when we register an artifact in OER (say wsdl file) then is there any way to get all the project code when user download the artifact.
currentely i register one wsdl file from my OSB project in OER.
now when i download the artifact i will get only that wsdl file.
if i want to get all the code related to that wsdl how can i able to get that ?
or OER is nothing but only the catalogue from where you only know which services are available for you ?
and for using that services you manually need to download and deploy that services.
    please help me on this,
    regards,

OER provides a channel for the automated exchange of metadata and service information between service consumers and providers. Means, it provides details about services and its consumers. You cannot download all assets(code) using one file say wsdl in your case.

  • Best practice for OSB, OER and OSR

    Hi,
I would like to know what are the best practices for using OSB, OER and OSR together in a run-time environment for a simple WSDL service.
    From how I see it:
    1) Create service-definition in OER
    2) Create proxy and business service in OSB
    3) Use harvester to harvest the proxy and business services in OER
    4) Use Exchange Utility to publish the proxy service to OSR
Then the client and discover the proxy service and use OSB for invoking the operations from service.
Kindly correct me where I am wrong.
    Some questions:
    1) Do we ever publish business service to OSR? Or is it only meant for proxy services?
    2) Is synching of OSB and OSR only meant when we are not using OER?
    Looking forward...

    Hi Anuj,
Thanks for the links, they have been helpful.
I understand now that OSR is only meant to contain only Proxy services. The synch facility is between OSR and OSB so that in case when you are not using OER, you can publish Proxy services to OSR from OSB. What I didn't understand was why there was a option to publish a Proxy service back to OSB and why it ended up as a Business service. From the link you provided, it mentioned that this case is for multi-domain OSBs, where one OSB wants to use the other OSB's service. It is clear now.
    Some more questions:
    1) In the design-time, in OER no Endpoints are generated for Proxy services. Then how do we publish our design-time services to OSR for testing purposes? What is the correct way of doing this?
    Thanks,
    Umar

  • Service Bus(OSB) not harvesting Endpoint to Enterprise Repository(OER)

    Hi,
I am harvesting a WSDL-based HTTP Proxy Service from Oracle Service Bus (OSB) to Oracle Enterprise Repository (OER) but the Endpoint is not harvested. The other artifacts are harvested successfully.
    Can someone please help
    Thanks,
    Umar

    Hi Anuj,
Here is the info you requested:
*1. Exactly which version of OSB and OER are you using?*
OSB version: Oracle Service Bus 11.1 Sun Dec 18 03:49:34 PST 2011 1447174
    OER version: Oracle® Enterprise Repository 11.1.1.6.0 (v11.1.1.6.0-111103_0001-1437995)
*2. What type of proxy services are you publishing?*
    Proxy Type: Web Service - SOAP 1.1 (WSDL:OSB_PR_POC/OpenAccount, port="OpenAccountServicePort")
My proxy service routes to business service.
*3. If it is a WSDL based proxy then are you able to see enpoint URL in exported WSDL from proxy?*
OSB shows the Endpoint information(Endpoint URI      /OSB_PR_POC/PS_OpenAccount)
I don't exactly understand what you mean by 'exported WSDL'
*4. Did you harvested the configuration from OSB machine itself?*
The OSB and OER are on the same machine. Used the OSB command line harvester to harvest the project. So, Yes, harvested the configuration from OSB machine.
*5. Can you provide the harvesting log?*
    Please find below the logs:
    E:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_OSB1\harvester>"C:\PROGRA~1\Java\JDK17~1.0_0\bin\java"     -Dweblogic.home="E:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\WLSERV~1.3" -Dosb.home="E:\

  • Unable to find OSB API classes while submitting the resources to OER

    Hi,
i had installed weblogic 11gR1 and installed OSB and OER on top of it.
when i try to submit any xsd or WSDL file from eclipse to Oracle Enterprise Repository it will work fine.
But when i try to submit any .biz or .proxy file (from osb project) i am getting the following error.
    can anybody please help

  • Can OER harvest from OSB on different machine?

    Hi,
The answer seemed to me obvious (YES) till I tried to do it. Since the harvester requires BEA_HOME set to OSB instllation how could I harvest OSB that does not reside on the same machine? Either I am missing something or the idea of a single OER managing assets in various environments is not 100% true.
Thanks in advance for putting me on the right path.
    regards
    Pawel

When connecting to the database from the host works (local) but not from another host (remote), could be several things causing the problem. And a specific error message is much more helpful than "it does not work ...". Can't help if we can't tell what you need help with.
The one that gets most folk are the firewall settings. Next most "popular" problem is some kind of incorrect client setup.
From the remote host, try a tnsping. This will test both possible problems, and also tell you where the client configuration files live. In a command box, a tnsalias should be set up in the client %ORACLE_HOME%/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
    tnsping xejoe
    ... Used parameter files: <drive:>network\admin\sqlnet.ora ...
    Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION=... <connect string host:port:service_name info> ...
    OK (<n> msec) ...
... Or could say tns-<n> error or something *not* OKYou have to tell your client who "xejoe" is, by specifying the connect details in tnsnames.ora or have an oracle naming service available, i.e. the tnsnames.ora method, add this stanza to the tnsnames.ora file:
    xejoe =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = <hostname or IP for xejoe instance>)(PORT = <port#>))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVICE_NAME = <service name>[.domain_name] )
)  And if you've added the port number exception to your firewall, it should be all good to go.
To verify the correct SERVICE_NAME will require an actual sqlplus connection- tnsping only verifies if a host has an oracle listener running on that port.
On the database server, a `lsnrctl services` command reveals the SERVICE_NAME used for the database instance.

  • Best practice of OSB logging Report handling or java code using publish

    Hi all,
I want to do common error handling of OSB I did two implementations as below just want to know which one is the best practice.
    1. By using the custom report handler --> When ever we want to log we will use the report action of OSB which will call the Custom java class which
Will log the data in to DB.
    2. By using plain java class --> creating a java class publish to the proxy which will call this java class and do the logging.
Which is the best practice and pros and cons.
    Thanks
    Phani

    Hi Anuj,
Thanks for the links, they have been helpful.
    Thanks,
    Umar

  • OER 11.1.1.7 - Asset Navigator doesn't open with an Error - Missing Required permissions attribute in main jar

    Hi,
I have installed OER-11g version 11.1.1.7 and am successfuly able to open Asset Editor , ImpExp utility and also could harvest SOA and OSB components.
    Issue 1:
However while trying to open the Navigator of the harvested components in OER console, a new window opens with two sections ( top and bottom). The top one which is a diagram view doesn't open with an error - Missing required permissions attribute in main jar: http://localhost:7101/oer-web/applets/components.aler-thinkmapclient-11.1.1.7.0.jar.
    Please find the screenshot below.
Issue #2 : While trying to browse for the Assets from OER console. The below error is seen ( missing permissions for components.jexplorer-11.1.1.7.0.jar)
Could someone direct me on how to solve this issue. Appreciate your help !
    Thanks and regards,
    Sridhar.

It works for me after I did a small tweak by as mine is a demo install.
Idea - is to make an security exception for the OER url in Java control console
    Steps to do that :
1.Go to the control panel and uninstall the 64 bit version of Java
Open Programs and Features and select the 64 bit version of Java and select Uninstall.
2.Open up the Java Control Panel
Found as an option in the standard windows control panel
3.Check the version by clicking on the About Tab
If this is not what you expected you can go to java.com and download the latest version.
4.Click on the Security Tab in the Java Control Panel
5.Click on the Edit Site List button in the lower RH corner of the control panel
6.Add your URL to be allowed
Enter the full path that you use to access this such as https://myequallogics.com or the IP address if that is how you access it (as in http://192.168.0.100 - Https is recommended by Oracle.) Once complete hit OK. You should now see the exception on the security page.
7.Close out of the control panel.
8.You can now acess your site through the browser window.
Thanks to Java error: Missing required Permissions manifest attribute in main jar - Spiceworks for letting me know this.

    Sridhar

  • OSB installed in WebLogic 12C - when it will be supported

As I believed that OSB is nothing more than a webaplication with specific tables in Oracle database I imagined that I could try to install OSB in WebLogic12C. Maybe I am telling a stupid thing because I can see that after installed OSB, there is a specific new server on WebLogic console.
Anyway, even if it was right, there a huge difference between I installed locally to test and I confirmed to do this without comercial support. Then, my question is: Is there some prediction about OSB, OER, OSR (SOA tools) be supported in WebLogic 12C? The more important for me is OSB.
Other question is: is there some prediction about new version of OSB? If so, this probably will work by default at weblogic 12c.

Anyway, even if it was right, there a huge difference between I installed locally to test and I confirmed to do this without comercial supportYou are correct. As Abhishek has already mentioned, OSB is not merely a web-app and it is tightly integrated with Weblogic app server. So there is no meaning putting any effort to try to get it work on Weblogic 12c.
Is there some prediction about OSB, OER, OSR (SOA tools) be supported in WebLogic 12C? The more important for me is OSB.It is too early to talk about 12c but yes, all these products will be part of OFMW 12c.
Other question is: is there some prediction about new version of OSB? If so, this probably will work by default at weblogic 12c.The next version of OSB will be 11g R1 patch set 6 (11.1.1.7) and hence it will only be certified with Weblogic 10.3.7

  • No Endpoint created in Oracle Enterprise Repository (OER)

    Hi,
I created a proxy service in Oracle Service Bus (OSB) and harvested it to Oracle Enterprise Repository (OER). The harvesting was successful. Following artifacts were created in OER:
              Interface/OpenAccountService      1.0      Interface      Unsubmitted
              OpenAccount.wsdl      1.0      Artifact: WSDL      Unsubmitted
              OpenAccount.wsdl-2      1.0      Artifact: WSDL      Unsubmitted
              OpenAccount.wsdl-3      1.0      Artifact: WSDL      Unsubmitted
              OpenAccount.xsd      1.0      Artifact: XSD      Unsubmitted
              ProxyService/PS_OpenAccount      1.0      Service      Unsubmitted
              PS_OpenAccount.proxy      1.0      Artifact: Proxy      Unsubmitted
But no Endpoint is created. Can someone explain why?
I need to publish this service to Oracle Service Registry. I cannot publish without a valid Endpoint. Kindly help
    Thanks.

Adding reference to the thread where we discussed it-

    Hi Vinoth,
You have to create 8 dbadapters and hence 8 business services. Better you create one stored procedure which internally calls these 8 stored procedures on the basis of conditions you have and create only one DB adapter and hence one business service to invoke this sinlge stored procedure.

  • How dependent OER is from OSR

I read "Oracle Enterprise Repository promotes only services that have
endpoints and hosted WSDL to Oracle Service Registry ... It is recommended that you harvest from the runtime environment to obtain the endpoints and WSDL location." I am prefering to avoid the use of OSR because I am not seeing advantages to use it. But I am very interested to use OER right now.
Could I harvest all concrete wsdl from OSB, IIS or Web Logic with no worries about UDDI? I will implement gradually OSB then, there will be three locations to be harvested: OSB, IIS or Web Logic. But I am not implementing OSR at the first phase. Should I have some specifics concerned about this apart from the UDDI compliances?
The guide I read it from is:
    Oracle® Fusion Middleware
Configuration Guide for Oracle Enterprise Repository
    11g Release 1 (11.1.1.6.3)
    E16580-12

I would appreciate so much if someone who has implemented both OER and OSR or implemented OSR without OER could comment how much dependent OER is from OSR. I believe that OER must work fine without OSR. My intention is to harvest assets from developer's IDE straight forward to Repository.

  • OSB Software Licensing

    hi all,
How to go about purchasing the license of osb.
we are planning to go for Oracle Service Bus 11g (11.1.1.6.0). Can i downlaod directly from EDELIVERY CLOUD first and then apply for license or first i have to get license for this.
Along with it we also need Spark 64 11 and with Oracle DB 11.2.0.3.0 - please sugest that it is a certfied combination.
For Prduction installation what all liceses we need - i mean do we get all along with osb purchase or we need saparate license for obs , weblogic.
and when we take osb, Is RCU, MDM, OER Come along with it or they need saparate liceses. and also sugest any patch set needed for above version of osb.
one more ..is Oracle Service Bus 11g (11.1.1.6.0) is stable version, are there any production systems running on this version. or is it good idea to go for lower version like Oracle Service Bus 11g (11.1.1.3.0).
    awaiting the response....
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
Have you tried Cancelling the release before adding the version?
Select the active version of the IDOC Segment and cancel its release first. Only then you will be able to add a version.
Please let me know if it worked!
