OSB to LDAP

Team,
How do I connect from OSB to LDAP? Is there any LDAP adapter? If not, may be I have to use java code to connect to LDAP and use proxy service java call out.
Are there any samples for doing that?
Thanks in advance.

Below link can provide some inputs to solve your purpose.

  • Connectivity between OSB and LDAP

    Hi All
    We have a requirement to connect to LDAP from OSB (not for retrieving security related information) for querying business information like users, user groups and geographical hierarchy etc. I know there is no Adapter to use for integrating LDAP with OSB. Please suggest some implementation technique for this approach.
    Thanks
    Vishwanath

    Which LDAP are you using ? If you are using OID you have a Ldapcleint.jar on the OID server, you can use that to connect.
    If you are using openldsp you using the open source ldap jar files for the same.
    Sample Code :-
    import javax.naming.*;
    import javax.naming.directory.*;
    import javax.naming.ldap.*;
    import oracle.ldap.util.jndi.*;
    import oracle.ldap.util.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class NickNameSearch {
    public static void main(String[] args)
      throws Exception
      InitialLdapContext ctx = ConnectionUtil.getDefaultDirCtx( args[0],
      args[1], args[2],args[3]);
      RootOracleContext roc=new RootOracleContext(ctx);
      Subscriber sub = null;
      sub = roc.getSubscriber(ctx, Util.IDTYPE_DEFAULT, null, null) ;
      PropertySetCollection psc = sub.getProperties(ctx,
      Subscriber.USER_NAMING_PROPERTIES, null);
      String nickNameAttribute = null;
      try
      nickNameAttribute = (String) psc.getPropertySet(0).getProperty(Subscriber.USER_NAMING_ATTR_SIMPLE).getValue(0);
      catch (Exception e)
      // unable to retrieve the attribute name
      System.exit(0);
      System.out.println("Nickname attribute: " + nickNameAttribute);
      // Retrieve user using simple name, guid or DN
      User user = sub.getUser(ctx, Util.IDTYPE_SIMPLE,"orcladmin", null);
      System.out.println("user DN: " + user.getDN(ctx));  }
      // Retrieve nickname value using User object
      psc = user.getProperties(ctx, new String[]{ nickNameAttribute });
      String nickName = null;
      try
      nickName = (String) psc.getPropertySet(0).getProperty(nickNameAttribute).getValue(0);
      catch (Exception e)
      // unable to retrieve the attribute value
      System.exit(0);
      System.out.println("Nickname : " + nickName);

  • OSB and LDAP

    Does anyone know, how to authenticate any service based on LDAP credentials in OSB?
    Thanks
    AB

    Since OSB delegates much of its security to underlying application server, you have to ask yourself "how to authenticate any service based on LDAP credentials in your application server running OSB".
    In case of WebLogic, you can find useful information here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11035_01/wls100/secmanage/atn.html#wp1198953
    However, configuring security realm parameters is not a simple task. You should probably read documentation carefully.

  • Secure OSB Service with LDAP

    Hi Friends,
    Greetings!
    Is there a way to secure an OSB service so that user will be able to access it only if they pass their AD/LDAP userid and password?
    Note: I know I can add servie accounts. However I want to avoid adding a guge number of users/services acounts manually.
    Thanks,
    Sachin.

    Hi Sachin,
    You have to configure webogic security realm to add AD/LDAP Authentication provider.
    http://onlineappsdba.com/index.php/2010/02/04/how-to-integrate-weblogic-with-oracle-internet-directory-for-login-authentication/
    In order to secure OSB service you can enable HTTPS or have message level security for the same.
    >know I can add servie accounts. However I want to avoid adding a guge number of users/services acounts manually.
    No Need to maintain n nunber of accounts per n number of users.
    use Basic Authentication/Custom Authentication/OWSM username token service policy to to authenticate username/password with AD/LDAP.
    For Authorization: Use Transport/Message Level Authorization at OSB Service level

  • LDAP Authentication for OSB Services

    Hi ,
    I would like to know how to secure proxy services to be accessible to only selected users in a given LDAP configured under weblogic "Providers".
    For example only users test1 and test2 must be able to access the proxy service and the methods.
    Also is similar type of access control possible with roles?ie only users assigned to a particular role must be able to access the proxy service.
    Please note we don't want to use OWSM for this.
    Thanks.

    Please refer section "45.5 Access Control Policies" at -

  • OSB 10gR3 - Starting Managed server on remote machine

    I have 2 Windows 2003 Enterprise machines.
    I have OSB 10gR3 installed on both with Node Manager running on default port, on both.
    I create the servicebustutorial domain and start the admin server on the first machine.
    On the second machine, I use the WLST to
    <ul><li>connect('weblogic','password','t3://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7001') # connect to admin server on first machine
    </li>
    <li>nmEnroll('c:/bea/wlserver_10.3/common/nodemanager') # make node manager visible
    </li>
    <li>nmEnroll('c:/bea/user_projects/domains/servicebustutorial') # enroll in the servicebustutorial</li>
    </ul>
    Now, I don't know if this is the correct thing to do.
    Back on the first machine, I create a new machine to represent the second Windows box.
    I can see the node manager on the second machine using the machine monitoring page.
    I then create a new server that is assigned to the new machine.
    I can attempt to start the new server on the second machine.
    The Server directory appears in the servers directory on the second windows box.
    Log files appear on the second box but the config.xml is not there, and thus, the server fails to start.
    I would have thought that the server config would have propogated from the admin server, is this a wrong assumption?
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks, in advance.
    ...Lyall

    Thanks for replying.
    I login as a local administrator on the machine that WebLogic runs. All operations are performed using that login (starting admin server, starting node manager).
    I changed permissions on C:\BEA, all the way down, localadmin group has full control, everywhere.
    I tried changing nodemanager C:\bea\wlserver_10.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.properties LogLevel to DEBUG but then NodeManager refuses to start, so I returned it back to INFO.
    I set debug on the Managed Server I am trying to setup, as you suggested.
    I even updated the NodeManager and Server boot.properties files to be cleartext and Deleted the LDAP directory within the Managed Server (as I assume it's re-created if it does not exist)

    In particular, this single line, causes concern.

  • Query regarding the tutorial for Oracle Service Bus (OSB 10gR3)

    Hi,
    I am working on a tutorial of Oracle Service Bus (OSB 10gR3).
    I have created the proxy service and the Business Service, using Oracle Service Bus console.
    The details are as follows:
    Proxy service: LoanGateway
    Business service1: A value of 4.9 or less causes the message to be routed to the ManagerLoanReview business service.
    Business service2: A value of 5.0 or greater causes the message to be routed to the NormalLoan business service.
    When i send the request message, so that it gets routed from proxy service to one of the business service than it gives following error.

    I have the same problem and I'm not able to telnet localhost on port 7021. How can I change this port number I think that port must be 7001, it is correct?Examples server domain is pre-configured for port 7021. The samples domain will have the examples properly deployed in this domain out of box. You dont need to change any thing in {BEA_HOME}\osb_10.3\samples\domains\servicebus\config.
    I doubt this has to do something with firewall . Check the last statement in the log after starting the domain.

  • How to configure a Proxy in OSB with Digest Authentication?

    Hello, Guys.
    I need a help with this subject.
    I have a demand to configure a Proxy in OSB 11.1.1.6 with Digest Authentication. I'm using a Embedded Ldap with Identity Asserter.
    I'have configured a DefaultAuthenticator and the DefaultIdentityAsserter to support Digest Password and create a new LdapIdentityAsserter pointing to my embedded Ldap.
    When I'll create a new Proxy, in the security options, i can see the digest options to authenticate my username and password. I selected the one of all the options, but in the time of the Proxy test the authentication didn't work.
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks you.

    Unfortunately, a reference trigger can't be used for continuous acquisition after the trigger. The maximum post-trigger count is either 2^24 or 2^32 depending on your hardware. Depending on your sampling rate and how many samples you expect to acquire before issuing a software stop, using the max post-trigger count may be sufficient for you. There are a couple of other options I can think of that you might want to try:
    1.) If possible, play with the trigger condition such that it occurs at the start of your pre-trigger data and use it as a start trigger instead. I suspect this may not be possible.
    2.) Set up a continuous acquisition and implement detection of the trigger condition through software. This is more software work and is more CPU intensive than the hardware solution, but it can definitely be made to work.
    3.) With some creative use of the counters, you may be able to latch the sample clock number that trigger occurred on. This would allow you to setup a continuous acquisition and use the hardware to tell you where the trigger occurred instead of figuring it out in software. What I'm thinking is you would set up a buffered event counting task with the ai/SampleClock as the timebase source of the counter and the trigger signal as the sample clock of the counter. By reading the first count value, you should know which AI sample the trigger occurred. From there, you can seek to the right position in the buffer and begin reading data indefinitely.
    Good luck!

    The users/groups are picked up from the LDAP configured in Security Realms->myRealm->Providers
    You basically have 2 options:
    - You can configure your LDAP in Providers
    - Use the DefaultAuthenticator that weblogic provides you by default.
    If you do not want to configure an LDAP, and want to use weblogic's default, then all you have to do is add users and groups in Security Realms->myRealm->Users and Groups
    Do mark this as useful or answered, if this has helped.

  • OSB inbound http webservice integration with OAM

    Hi,
    I have a requirment where I need to protect OSB inbound http webservice with OAM. So that OAM can fetch the user details from webservice SOAP header & authenticate the user against LDAP.
    Can someone tell me if this is a feasible approach. If yes, please share the details as to what configuration changes need to be done at OAM & OSB end.
    If not, is there any alternative approach to secure webservice with OAM.
    This webservice is not called from any web application. External sources dirctly make a call to this webservice through some java client.

    The solution to this issue is to put following line in mod_wl_ohs.conf file
    MatchExpression /imaging WebLogicHost=test-ipm.atfoods.com|WebLogicPort=16000
    The complete element will look like this.
    <IfModule weblogic_module>
    WebLogicHost test-ipm.atfoods.com
    WebLogicPort 7001
    Debug ALL
    WLLogFile e:/logs/weblogic_ohs.log
    MatchExpression /imaging WebLogicHost=test-ipm.domain.com|WebLogicPort=16000
    </IfModule>
    <Location /imaging>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    WebLogicHost 192.168.140.74
    WeblogicPort 16000
    Debug ALL
    WLLogFile f:/log/wlipm.log
    </Location>
    Make sure that you use IP for Weblogic host in 2nd element and not the host name.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vikrant Korde

  • LDAP Authenticator and Password Digest

    Hi All,
    I am implementing proxy services uisng OSB 11g . The security requirement is to enforce authentication using password digest. Users & passwords are stored in a central external LDAP server.
    OSB supports password digest in SOAP messages , but all the dcoumentation suggest enabling the password digest flag in Default Authenticator . When I configure the external LDAP server in security realm it does not provide any option to enable Password Digest.
    Is it possible to have passwordDigest based authentication agiant a external LDAP server ?
    If yes can some one please suggest how its done ?
    Thanks !

    Got the answer
    Out of the box Password Digest is only supported with DefaultAuthenticator . For PasswordDigest authentication with external LDAP , custom authenticators need to be developed and used.

  • OWSM Custom Assertion for OSB RESTful Proxy Service

    Hello,
    I have implemented a Custom OWSM Assertion to authenticate requests with a custom token placed in a HTTP header. I can assign this assertion to a SOAP proxy service as a security policy. However I am not able to assign the very same policy to a Restful JSON service (Proxy service defined as messaging service with text message type). I am getting this error:
    [OSB Kernel:398128]One of the Web service policy attached is not allowed on service default/RESTful because the service binding does not support it
    My policy:
    <wsp:Policy xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2004/09/policy"
        xmlns:custom="http://custom"

                </orawsp:Config>
            </orawsp:bindings>
        </custom:customTokenHttpAuthentication>
    </wsp:Policy>
    My OSB version is OSB 11g PS6 and in this version, OWSM policies are supported for Restful services. Interesting is, that the built-in policy oracle/http_basic_auth_over_ssl_service_policy can be assigned to my Restful service. Do you know a solution for the problem, how can I assign my custom assertion to the Restful service? Anything special is needed in the policy definition?
    Thanks.
    Marian

  • Webcenter Content and OSB

    Hi,
    Can anyone let me know how we can integrate the Webcenter content with OSB. We want to create users but through OSB. Do Webcenter provide any Web service?
    Thanks in advance.

    a) WebCenter Content has its standard services - see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e11011/toc.htm
    b) the most common services are exposed in WSDL as Web Services - see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10807/c25_wsdl_and_soap.htm#BEHDIABD
    c) for the remainder (even for your own custom services) you may use WSDL Generator to expose them
    d) since the version 11g, WCC does not hold its own identity pool, but rather takes it from one used by the Weblogic domain (usually, an external LDAP), so if you are interested in creation of users you might want to integrate with this LDAP, rather than with WCC

  • How to resolve this OSB Console Exception - BEA-494002 ?

    Hi,
    Im facing some problem while trying to see the Projects in the OSB Console. This is the exception I could see in the logs. We have deployed a new project on the server. We did ldap configuration for userids. Right after deployment we were able to view the projects tree. But now we are facing some problem.
    Please advice. Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Anuj,
    Thanks for your quick response.
    We tried to restart the Admin Server and Managed Server Instances.
    This is what we did -
    1. Deployed a project on the server using OSB Console.
    2. We have added a New Authentication Providers that performs LDAP Authenication.
    Security > myrealm > Providers > Authentication
    I could see these errors in the logs -
    ExecuteThread: '65' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <system> <> <8beb4c4d69347bb8:-19e99cc3:131bdb9900b:-8000-0000000000001ca3> <1313486764738> <BEA-494002> <Internal error occured in OSBConsole : [Security:090294]could not get connection
    netscape.ldap.LDAPException: error result (32);
    Also I could see the following error -
    <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '74' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <system> <> <8beb4c4d69347bb8:-19e99cc3:131bdb9900b:-8000-0000000000001cad> <1313486800886> <BEA-423167> <An exception or error occurred in the backing file [com.bea.alsb.console.changemgmt.ChangeCenterBacking] while executing its preRender method. It was java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unable to get Configuration Session Manager
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unable to get Configuration Session Manager
         at com.bea.alsb.console.support.JMXHelper.sessionExists(JMXHelper.java:673)
    Not sure why we are getting all the three errors which i posted so far.
    Thanks in Advance.
