OTD AdminNode conflicts with Coherence nodes running on same server???

I set up a traditional OTD failover group exposing private proxy to storage nodes.  Strangely when I run OTD admin nodes they seem to create conflict with Coherence nodes running on same server.  Any clues on what could cause the problem (same default ports?).  The msgs I get are the followings:

  • Can I create different Coherence nodes in the same cluster with defferent?

Can I create different Coherence nodes in the same cluster with defferent cache-config.xml file ?
Can a cache be distributed in these deffirent nodes?

Yes. You can create different Coherence nodes in the same cluster with defferent cache-config.xml files as long as you use the same tangosol-coherence.xml file and the same tangosol-coherence-override.xml file. But you cannot store the cache data in the different nodes (started with different cache-config file). In other word, a node only create caches in their own's modes which are started with the same cache-config.xml file.
    See the following demo:
I start a cache server using the cache config file examples-cache-server.xml. Then I start a storage-disabled cache console (cache client) using the cache config file coherence-cache-config.xml. Both of them using the same tangosol-coherence.xml file and the same tangosol-coherence-override.xml file.
The cache server uses a cache service PartitionedPofCache. But the client side is using the Distributedcache service. The cluster address is same 224.3.5.2.
The cluster name is also samme. They know each other.

    Hi Sridhar,
You can definitely remove an instance completey. When you select uninstall option using sapinst, it will give you a list of running instances on the node using profile files.
You can select which one to uninstall.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Yes you can have the RAC and RAC one on the same cluster. For support and recommendations raise a service request with oracle support

    Hello Zhe,
I guess I posted my question in a wrong forum.  I tried my best to find a suitable forum and thought this was the best and closest I found.  Apparently not.  Can you please let me know the right forum for my question?
The below is the breif of what we are currently facing:
We are in the process of finalizing plans to install Automic for our Retail applications to schedule jobs.  In the process came to know that Automic does not support AL32UTF8.
Right now we have RMS and UC4 (now called Automic) run on the database server as UC4 supports AL32UTF8 and schema for UC4 is inside the RMS database.
Going forward it is recommended to have a separate database instance on the same server as that of RMS database and with a different characterset which is WE8MSWIN1252.
Please let me know what forum to post in, I will repost the question.
    Thanks,
    Ram.

  • PI working with two MDM Repositories on same server

    Dear PI experts,
I have this requirement to accomplish, maybe someone can guide me through. My experience with PI / XI is almost zero.
We had one MDM repository working per server, and PI configured to deliever the xml file each time articles are created in SRM.
Process : User creates articles in SRM, PI delievers xml in MDM folder, user enriches articles in MDM.
Now we have created a second MDM repository (but in the same server). The idea is making possible for PI to decide to each catalog / repository it should send the xml file, based on a field it would recieve from SRM (field "comany").
How and where could i make this enhancement in PI?
Do i have to create a new business system for the new catalog? or just a new communication chanel (with new paths to deliever xml file)?
Later on i guess i have to create a condition based on the value of the field (delievered by srm) in "Reciever determination".
As i told you, PI is not my area of expertise. Any ideas are very welcome.
    Thank you,
    Best Regards,
    Joao Silva Carvalho

a new communication channel and the conditional routing (in the interface determination since receiver is going to be the same) should help you

  • Unexplained Ownership conflict with Coherence 3.5.2

    Hi all,
We are using Coherence 3.5.2 quite happily for a while.
Now we've start using it for a new project.
Basically we have a cache with 36000 object updated concurrently through EntryProcessors.
All this is running in 8 application nodes (java 1.6).
After running for a while (93% of our objects updated), the entire cluster starts hanging with unexplained errors.
The first error is a Ownership conflict error.
I googled that error and saw that it has been resolved with a patch in 3.5.1. So normally it should be fixed also in 3.5.2.
    So my question:
Under which exact conditions can we expect to face that error?
    Many thanks
    Harry,

    Hi ggleyzer,
    yes that's the manisfestation.
We start having those errors (Ownership conflict) for a short period and after that the DistributedCache service associated to our cache starts giving up (executing "InvokeFilterRequest" for more than 9 minutes).
Then the service is stopped and members are removed from the cluster ("Removed missing member" error).
But actually the Ownership conflict message is logged at WARN level.

  • WDPortalNavigation with portal not running on WD server

    Hello,
I am trying to get my application to close itself and replace itself with a non-WebDynpro iView.
I have been attempting to use:
    WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute("ROLES://portal_content/contentlib/corporate/mss/iviews/test_iview",
                   WDPortalNavigationMode.SHOW_INPLACE,
                   String) null,
                   (String) null,
              WDPortalNavigationHistoryMode.NO_HISTORY,
                   (String) null,
                   (String) null,
                   (String) null);
It seems to happily end the application (clicking on anything results in a "The Web Dynpro Application 'PortalNavTest' has expired" )- but nothing is loaded in its place.
from reading the various posts in the forum, and the portal nav tutorial, I think that this should work, however I do have a landscape difference that I believe may be causing me a problem. The server which my wd app is running on is different to the server which my portal is running on. I'm not sure how my app would "know" what URL to use to fetch the new iview. Running on a different server does not cause me any issues with running the app normally, however, it does seem to cause a problem with portal navigation.
in the help <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/d2/0357425e060d53e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">SAP Help - Calling Portal Services</a>
there is a mention of being  "service factory provides a conduit to portal services to ensure that the proper service is called, even in cases when the Web Dynpro application and the portal are running on different machines". but on the same page of the help it says:
"A portal service can be called only when the portal platform and the Web Dynpro application are running on the same machine.
It is recommended not to use your Web Dynpro-based portal content in a global or federated portal scenario"
To summarise, I'm confused! Can I use portal navigation in my application when it is not running on the portal server? Do I have to use Dynamic iViews in the page service? Can I even use the IWDPageService in NW04 (I can't seem to find the jar with this interface/class anywhere) and it's not mentioned in the NW04 help.. ?
Am I just better off just opening the new iview in a new window in the application by passing in the absolute URL - ie - the portal iview URL?
    Any suggestions most welcome.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
I have an issue on the same lines and just happened to stumble upon this thread. Can you please share how you resolved the problem?
My Scenario - Here I am doing an absolute navigation to a web dynpro page which works fine when I am accessing the application within the producer. Now on accessing the application from consumer portal it opens up the page in a new window the url of which is that of producer. I have opened a thread for this. If you could reply there that is really appreciated.
Federated Portal - Absolute navigation from Consumer opens new window
    Thanks,
    KN.

  • Volume licensing conflicts with creative cloud subscriptions on same adobeID

I have volume licensing for adobe acrobat pro.  However, I also have one cancelled Creative Cloud version of Acrobat Pro that was cancelled due to inconvenient billing practices for CC.  When I install a new version of Acrobat Pro on a Mac, using the volume license serial number, it installs successfully for a month.  Then, out of nowhere, it fails to launch citing an expired creative cloud subscription.  I have paid close $5000 for these volume licenses.  They should never expire.  This only seems to happen on the Macs, the windows versions don't seem to have this issue.  So, how can I stop my volume licesened Acrobat Pros from randomly expiring?

    Hi foobars,
    Please try steps mentioned below:
    Quit Acrobat.
    Delete the following folders:
    Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
    Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
    Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD
Then launch Acrobat and try to activate with the serial number and check.

  • Dbconsole with multiple instances on the same server?

    Hi!
I have a LINUX server running 2 separate instances - csp1 and csp2. I have a repository in csp1 and the dbconsole running for csp1. Now I need to find out if / how I can get the dbconsole running for the csp2 instance. This is Oracle standard edition 10.2.0.4. Both instances share the same Oracle Home and Listener. A second Oracle Home has the companion CD (http server) installed in it and has no instances associated with it.
Does anyone have information on how to do this? Here are some of my questions:
    1) Do I need separate repositories for each instance or can the repository in csp1 be used for both instances?
    2) Can the ports be shared or do I need to assign new port #'s for the 2nd instance? How / where do I do this?
Any hints, tips, suggestions, etc. are greatly appreciated!
    Dave Venus

    1) Do I need separate repositories for each instance or can the repository in csp1 be used for both instances?
Yes, in the free version of EM in 10g ie DB console, that's the restriction. You can't use it for more than one database. It has to be done explicitly for that another database whom you want to manage via it. So as per the answer, yes you do need a seperate repository for your second db. The other db will be in the same Oracle home and surely its em repository can work with the existing listener. But it does require its own set of config files which will be in a sperate folder under Oracle Home with its sid.
    2) 2) Can the ports be shared or do I need to assign new port #'s for the 2nd instance? How / where do I do this?
As I mentioned in my last reply, you wouldn't be able to share the port that is already in use. You do need to have a seperate port configured. Normally when you would install the repository oracle would pick up itself a port number. The valid port range , if I remember correctly is from 5500 onwards ( I don't remember the last limit). Even afterwars, you can change the port using "emca" command.
    Edit:
I forgot to mention that some time back, here on the forums, I had a discussion with a guy who mentioned that there is a workaround possible to add a target in the current Targets.xml for the second database. I did try it out but still that didn't give me two instances. The most recent one which I added only was accessible.
    Update:
I did find that thread, here it is. See if this helps you,

  • Install SAP Solution Manager with DEV instance in the same server (MCOD)

Hello, i would like to install SAP Solutions Manager together with DEV ECC 6.0 in the same host, DEV is currently installed and working fine.
I followed note 551915 to convert MS-SQL 2005 to MCOD (change of schema from dbo to dev) and worked fine. But when i am installing the SolMan through the sapinst i don´t see the option MCOD
The only option i am confussed is
    MS SQL Server
Database reuse  o - New Database (DBSID = SAPSID)
                             o - Use Existing Database
                                    Database ID (DBSID)
Witch option should i choose to perform a MCOD installation? new db or use existing db (DEV)?
    Kind Regards

Hi Merchan, if you want to use MCOD you need to select the option: o - Use Existing Database
    Database ID (DBSID) .

  • Issues with Deploying Struts application on Weblogic Server 10.3.3

We are trying to deploy a web application on Weblogic 10.3 server domain. The configuration is we have 2 physical boxes with one box running an Admin Server and one managed Server and the other box running only a Managed server. Both these servers are in one cluster. When we deploy a Struts 2 web application on this domain, it works as expected on the managed server running on the same box and Admin server. However, when we do the same action on the managed server, we get an error. In the application we are using Interceptor and the error we see in the log file is Action Interceptor Result ---exception.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as we have been struggling with this for a few days.
    Thank you
    Sam

Sounds to me as if you are saving the users' uploaded images somewhere in your application's directory structure - which is going to get blown away each time you redeploy. Why not store uploaded images in a database (there are blogs showing how to upload and display images to/from a DB in ADF if you don't know how). If you search {forum:id=83}, you can find them easily.

  • High CPU usage with Coherence 3.5.0 cluster node

We're noticing sustained high CPU usage on one of our Coherence nodes - this happens after running a job that pretty intensively interacts with the cache. The jobs complete, however we still see the Coherence process using approximately the equivalent of one core's worth of CPU. I took a couple of thread dumps about fifteen minutes apart, and the only noticeable differences are within the PacketListener1 and PacketListenerN threads - they're holding locks on different DatagramPacket instances, which suggests to be that this may be the piece of code that is looping.
There are two other cache nodes in this particular cluster - both of them on a different machine - and neither of them are exhibiting the same CPU utilization.

===== END OF THREAD DUMP ===============

    Charlie, Cameron,
Thanks for following up. To answer Cameron's question - yes, running top shows that it is this process using a significant amount of the CPU. I captured a JRA this morning setting nativesamples=true.
I see the following when I look at the Hot Methods - let me know if there is something else that would shed some more light on this issue.

Of course I can't throw it away since I get a message it's part of the sytem. I can show package contents and throw those away, but evidently not a good idea!!
