Reproduce Error:
Step 1: Type the following into the search box in the OTN forums of this website: ODBC nt
Step 2: View interesting error message: ORA-20000: interMedia Text error: DRG-10800: query failed: DRG-50901: text query parser syntax error on line 1, column 8 ORA-06512: at "USE_SA.DG$QUERY", line 308 ORA-06512: at line 1
and all I wanted to know was why Oracle ODBC doesn't seem to support NT authentication.
Hmmm, makes me wonder whether I should support Oracle, ho hum.
It's very possible this could be software or hardware, or it could be a thermal problem forcing a shutdown. This is far from the most common problem on a T61, but I have a few suggestions you can try.
First thing I would do is install thinkpad fan control (tpfancontrol.com), and look at the cpu (gpu too if this unit has discrete graphics). Your cpu while idle whould be in the mid 60c degree range, when it gets up near 90 or higher you will have thermal shutdown.
You can also try booting from a Linux liveCD disc (recommend ubuntu.com). Boot up using the option not to make any changes to your computer and if you can run linux without it shutting off, then you can be pretty sure you have a software problem and reformating/installing windows is all that is needed. You don't need the original setup discs, a windows install disc with the proper version to match your COA is all you need.
Alternately you can install a harddrive from a similar thinkpad and see if the problem still exists to determine if it's a software issue... assuming you have such a drive.
If you need further help, please include your full model number and the type of graphics this system has.

Forum Bug regarding not seeing new posts
I've posted this here as many users are reporting forum issues where they will get a notification of a new post made to a thread but they cannot see it.
This is a forum bug which Apple is aware of... and are trying to resolve but in the meantime here are two (somewhat impractical) fixes i have found...
1) Open the forum on a different Mac or Apple device and the posts will show up... Go back to the original Mac or Apple device and they will not appear unless you make a new post in that thread yourself... after the missing posts.
2) Post a new reply and then any posts made prior to your new reply will show up
It is not a cookie related problem as cleaning out the cookies does not fix the issue Its odd as if this is the case then how is this bug only specific to one Mac? Something must be tracking something, somehow but it doesn't appear to be via cookies....
Quiting and restarting Safari nor restarting your Mac, doesn't fix it either...
If anyone finds any other workarounds, please post them here....
Thanks...Yes I know that, but I was referring to another situation where I get a thread notification by mail, I open the thread and do not see the new message, I then sign in et voila here it is. And in my situation this has, until now, always worked.
You have been lucky. I am signed continuously, but still most of the post are missing, when I go to them from an email notification. My "." key is rather worn out by now from using it to force posts to show -
Spry Menu 2.0 issues in IE7.. yes another one!
I have CS4, and have used the widget browser to create a Spry Menu 2.0 and have imported it to my site. It displays fine in every browser except for IE7. I have been reading a LOT of threads on issues similiar to this one, so I'm prepared to tell everyone I know to upgrade to at least IE8!! However, I would like to fix it if possible. The menu bar is located in an include file and is attached to all my pages through the php function. I have made zero changes to the css code since I imported it into the site.
I also am wondering why there are two css pages for the menu bar.??
Any help would be appreciated..

Spry Menu 2.0 issues in IE7.. yes another one!
It is us as designers/developers that need to create websites for all current browsers. No sense in blaming the browsers, although in this case we could blame Spry Menu 2.0.
Problem with that is that Spry Menu 2.0 has been successfully tested in all modern browsers.
This leaves us with just one possibility, the designer/developer has erred somewhere along the line. After having checked the support files (JS and CSS) and looked at the markup, we now go to the constructor and see the following

I also am wondering why there are two css pages for the menu bar.??
One is the standard CSS for the menubar and under normal circumstances, should not be touched; the other is for the convenience of the designer/developer so that he/she can tweak the menubar to suit. If you wish, you can combine both. In all cases, keep in mind that the CSS for the standard (basic) menubar should come first, so that the other CSS can override the first.
This needs to be corrected in your document

Not able to execute one Java program from another one via. exec()

I am new to this forum, so I might be asking a very trivial quetion.
My program Ap1 is :

Pass data from one VI to another one
Hi,
I try to control a event structure in a VI with a boolean command from a second VI. I have been advised to "build a connector to pass any data from one VI to another one".
Below an simple example: my goal is MyVItwo gives the result of a 2 numbers addition only when the boolean "MyBooléen" value changes in MyVIone.
How can I realise this?

Example.zip 10 KBIt is not entirely clear what you are trying to do. I think that what you want is a main vi/subvi setup. The boolean control would be in the main vi and would be monitored by an event structure. When the value of the boolean changes the subvi would be activated. I have attached an example showing how this is done.
In order to use a vi as a subvi you build a connector box. In order to do this you just right click on the vi icon at the top right of the front panel and select show connector. You then wire connections on the connector block to controls on the front panel. You insert the subvi into your main vi by choosing "Select a vi" on the functions pallette and browsing to the subvi.
If you absolutely have to pass the data from one vi to another while running in parallel there are a number of ways to do it. Global variables will certainly work but are generally avoided by experienced LabVIEW programmers due to their potential caveats and the break in data flow. An alternative to global variables is the functional global, also called a LV2 style global. This is basically a non-reentrant subvi with an unitialized shift register which allows for data to be stored. For more information search this forum for LV2 globals.
Another alternative is to obtain a reference to the control and operate on that reference. You could also use queues, notifiers, or occurences. Search the examples which shipped with LabVIEW for examples on using these operators.

Create an order using BAPI with reference to another one.

I'm trying to create a new sales order with reference to another one (That's important because of the documents flow).
I'm using 'BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2' but I couldn´t do it yet. I've read some ideas about this kind of creation in this forum; but I still haven´t found the solution yet.
Some ideas about the BAPI parameters I nedd to complete?

Are you sure you can create a sales order with reference to ANOTHER sales order? The reason I ask is that in the front end, sales orders are created with reference to either quotations or contracts. There are settings known as "copying control" that need to be maintained for this to show up as document flow.
We have been working on a BAPI to create a sales order, but that is without reference to another document, and it works fine.
Could you please elaborate?

And it carried on like this for about a week while I carried on conversations mainly with myself in the stupid forums and nobody else posted.
It was fun.
Eventually after about a week I delivered a bitter diatribe on the state of the forums and the fact that nobody could actually post anywhere and after a couple of more days it got fixed.
As an aside in my diatribe I told them (Sun) where they could shove it (it being these forums) and that I wanted my account deleted because I didn't want to be associated with their shittiness. And that's how I became cotton.m -
I'd like to report an irritating bug in the forum software. I composed a post in an plain-text TextEdit window. It had several paragraphs marked off by double carriage returns. I then selected that text and pasted it into a forum message window. Once pasted, each sequence of return-return had been replaced by return-space-return-space-return. This is wasting my time, as when I use an auto-typing utility to paste in a multi-paragraph text block, I always have to go back in to delete the extra characters.

A couple of things I've noticed about the forums here:
1. Despite requesting a weekly digest of updates from my subscriptions, up until last week I was still getting daily notifications too: do user settings only work on subscriptions created AFTER the preference change I wonder?
2. The last three weekly mailings I've had -- including one today -- contain invalid URLs. It looks to me like they're using staging server details, rather than the live production system. Example mail follows:

I had all of my video files that I work on in iMovie saved to an external hard drive exclusively to save space on my Macbook. The other day I had just finalized a project and went to work on another one and when I opened the project I could see what should have been there, but scrolling over the entire clip I would only see black and that the file was missing. I did not drag anything on the hard drive to the trash or move anything. How can I get those files? These are videos of my kids and I am devastated and willing to try anything!
Control click does not work - no option to find files. I have no idea what to do. When I look at the usage of the external drive the space is being used, but I cannot find the files. I am going to try MacKeeper's Undelete and see if I can make any progress with it.

You can find the backup files and then copy them to a safe place if you are worrying about this.
iTunes places the backup files in these places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.
