Otterbox Protective Membrane on iPhone 4

For those who've received their otterbox defender, does the protective membrane leave the air bubbles like the case for the 3GS??? I had the otterbox defender for my 3GS and my only complaint is if you didn't use a screen protector it left air bubbles on the screen, very annoying. I did figure out a fix by putting a mist of baby powder on the screen, but the tiny particles drove me crazy too, but I'd rather have that than those annoying air bubbles. I've ordered the defender for the iPhone 4 and I hope they've address that problem. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks for that youtube video. I'm very anxious to get my new otterbox on my new iPhone 4. I ordered it today on the 25th. From what I've seen with other posts about the otterbox orders, I think there's a good chance I may receive it by the end of the week. I'm using an old leather carrying case and the phone slips out so easily, so I'm very careful with it. I'm looking forward to having the otterbox so I don't stress out over possibly breaking the phone.

what is the best protection for my iphone 4s?

I agree with GZukes that there are many opinions on this question, but the Otterbox typically has been known as the most protective.

  • I purchased a Mota Battery case and protection for my iPhone 4s,  will I encounter any problems with this new device?

I currently have an iPhone 4s with an otterbox cover which provides excellent protection for my iPhone.  I am an electrician and the environment my phone can be exposed to at times can be hostile at times.  Do you know of and Otterbox which would accommodate your product purchased by me with Package ID 6629239.  I still have product in box and am curious as to what type of protection I can receive for my phone.  Any suggestions.  Have you teamed up with otttebox to make a cover which would be compatible to the current cover being sold by them?
    Thank you,
    Tom Quesada
This is the email I sent them concerning the case, my question applies  to you all as well.  Another question I had was concerning the battery and any interference it may have with any apps or actions taken by using my iPhone.  Any suggestions or past experiences would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Tom Quesda

    Hopefully you contacted Otterbox directly.
Take a look at Mophie devices as well, they provide some nice battery cases for iPhones (and other devices) and have a line that provides similar protection to Ottterboxes.

  • Protective cases for iPhones

Two protective cases for iPhones are 1) Lifeproof and 2) Otterbox Defender series. Does anyone have acquaintance with both these cases? If so, is one better than the other? Or is there some other case that is better than either of those? Thank you for the assessment and suggestions.

The iPhone 5 Otterbox Defender case is very nice and is a big improvement over their 4/4S case. The new one is much slimmer and better feeling in the hand, though it's still a BIG CASE.
The Lifeproof case isn't quite as physically rugged as the Otterbox, but it is water resistant where the Otterbox isn't.  The Lifeproof case can be used in the shower or even swimming if you keep it above six feet of water. There are some reports that individual Lifeproof cases can muffle sound quality fairly badly (while others don't), but the Otterbox doesn't have those issues as it leaves the speaker ports relatively unobstructed. The Lifeproof case is also much slimmer than the Otterbox while providing a large degree of protection.
Griffin's Survivor series cases are generally as rugged as either of the above, but I don't recall it being waterproof.
There are a number of other cases with a high impact resistance rating out there, but I'd probably stick with one of those three mentioned above, myself.

  • I spilt water (heat protectant) on my iPhone 4S 16GB. HELP!?

I spilt water (heat protectant) on my iPhone and it keeps locking then unlocking and asking me to 'slide to turn off', I had a OtterBox over it when it got wet but I guess it only saved it a little bit. It has 2 small cracks from falling out of my pocket in basketball but I dont think those have anything to do with it. no water got in from anywhere except for probably the speakers in the middle top of the screen and the mic on top. If the ingrediants in the heat protectant matters then I can tell yall but please HELP. I Bought it in December 2011 and got it in January 2012 So the warranty probably wore off. I need a cheap way to fix it pleaseee!

I tried turning it off but it turns on by itself. And it'll take a while for the battery to die but do I just leave it like that?

  • AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone

The Protection Plan costs $69.00 for a second year of coverage and I do not know if I should buy it. I have heard that the battery in the iPhone needs to be replaced yearly, is this true? I have heard that to replace a battery, it will cost around $85 and if this is true, isn't it better to get the AppleCare package for $69?
    Thanks

    Ansuz82,
The iPhone batteries page says designed to retain 80% at this link in the right hand side bar:
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html
The quote from that page is:
A properly maintained iPhone battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 400 full charge and discharge cycles. You may choose to replace your battery when it no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs.
The page you link to says it will be replaced by Apple if it drops to below 50% capacity while covered. The actual quote is:
Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your coverage to two years from the date of your iPhone purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone. During the plan’s coverage period, Apple will replace the battery if it drops below 50% of its original capacity. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery replacement for $79, plus $6.95 shipping, subject to local tax. Apple disposes of your battery in an environmentally friendly manner.
In other word it should retain 80% of its capacity at least after 400 full charge cycles. If your battery should drop below 50% capacity while covered by warranty or AppleCare Protection Plan, it will be replaced by Apple. There isn't a way to read the number of cycles off the battery that I am aware of.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone in Malaysia

Hi All, I would like to ask that, if i purchase the iPhone from online store, then i purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan from other country.
I would like to extend my iPhone warranty but in our country, it don't have sells AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone.
So have any suggestion for it?
    Thanks.

You cannot purchase AppleCare in a country different from where the iPhone was purchased.

  • Why no Apple Protection Plan for iPhone outside the US??

The Apple Care Protection Plan for iPhone has been available for a while in the U.S, but it's still unavailable in other countries where the iPhone is sold.
Even if in countries where the iPhone V1 has been available since November 2007, like UK, France, Germany.
Will the APP for iPhone be available outside of the U.S anytime soon???

Since AppleCare is an extended warranty, Apple needs to write it in such a way that foreign governments will accept it. Even here in the US, it was not valid in Florida until fairly recently.

  • Need help to find protective case for iPhone 3G

I am looking for a protective case (preferably black one) for my new iPhone 3G that can protect the screen from scratches (without bubbles and fairly easy to install), protects the remainder from scratches, and allows access to all its buttons.
The Apple store seems to be out of many of them and it is difficult to tell on the online Apple store which one is actually going to work.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

A friend of mine has an otterbox for his Touch. It it bullet-proof. They have one for the 1st gen iPhone, but not yet for the 3G. It should be out any second now. It is very high quality. I am waiting for that. I need something that I can strap to my arm or Camelbak strap and survive if I crash or it rains. That will. There are reviews on amazon. (cheaper on amazon than their own site)

  • Protection for the iPhone 6

    HI
    I have an iPhone 6'
    i have two questions
1 Does a screen protector interferes with a case? And for example does tne mPact glass screen protector ( by desing by m ) interferes?
2 Wich is the most protective case for the iphone 6 against falls ?

    Mtschmidt wrote:
but could you see if the mpact glass screen protector www.thinkbyme.com works with the case you mentione.
Unless ConnerMarkwell has an iPhone 6 AND the screen protector you reference AND all of those cases, they're not going to be able to test that. Since you have the website of the screen protector, why not contact the manufacturer and ask them?
There is no need to have a separate screen protector if you use something like a Lifeproof or Otterbox Defender.

  • Otterbox Defender Case of iPhone 4S

I bougth a Otterbox Defender and used it for 1 week............it is great for iPhone protection but in the included holster (plastic), it is just too bulky to carry around on the belt.  Love the protection...hate the bulkiness.
Now bought a very thin rubber case that adds very little to thickness or weight.  Need a holster that will fix the iPhone 4S.  Tried the BB case and the width is A-OK but the length is too short.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
Oh, and make me an offer for the Otterbox plus shipping and it's your for a decent offer.

I have no problem with eBay.  Just offering if someone on this forum wanted a real good deal.
But, I digress.  Googling what???  Holster with rubber casing around iPhone 4S?  You try it and see what you get.  I tryed it.
If you want to give info........please try and give useful info.
I asked a question and if anyone had done this before they would have the information to help.  Your info is useless.  No one needs a SA remark.
But, I will thank you anyway.

  • Protecting and Tracking iPhone from Thieves

    Hi,
I just lost/got my iphone stolen from me. Before I sadly spend money on another one I'd like to know if there is any way to track an iphone by hardware? This question is for a new iphone I get, not to find my stolen one.
My main problem is not having something that depends on your sim card being in or your OS not being wiped since otherwise it can be pretty worthless in a lot of instances. I think that's how mobileme works right? You need to have you sim card in and your OS not wiped.
    Thanks!

Protecting - Don't lose it or leave it around
Tracking - MobileMe will as you say, track a mobile if its on AND if you turn on FindMyPhone.
But you are also correct, it can be wiped and have the SIM changed and AT&T don't care as long as the thief takes out a subscriber plan. There is no other solution possible - you cannot stop an OS wipe and the thief can throw away your SIM card and use another.
No foolproof solutions other than not losing it or having it stolen.

  • Virus protection for the iPhone?

Wondering about the need and availability of anti-virus, etc. protection for iPhones (4).
I'm a long time Apple/Mac user but wondering how pre-emptive a person needs to be re this protective measure.
    Thanks,
    CM

There are no viruses for (non-hacked) iPhones, therefore no virus protection needed. There are also no iPhone anti-virus apps that are any use (the only one the does exist is useless).
