Outgoing email settings change back to "none" even after I save

Hi I hope someone can help me. My server is bellsouth/att and I have gone through the settings for my mailbox with them over and over. I have the correct settings. (smtp.att.yahoo.com) I have three accounts in my mail (version 3.6) and for some reason the outgoing settings after I enter the correct setting - hit save - reverts back to "none". It says I have no outgoing mail server. I have to go into each account and change the settings back to the correct setting each time I want to send something out for each account. Also, somehow I lost all of my emails for the last year in my primary email. I'm getting so frustrated - I don't know what happened to my mailbox! Can anyone offer advice? Bellsouth/ATT have no idea anymore!

Go to Mailbox > Rebuild. If that doesn't fix it, try removing the account. Also try removing the file ~(Home)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist.

Spam filter Spamihilator automatically changes the new Verizon incoming & outgoing email settings in my email client Thunderbird. Thunderbird and Spamihilator render each other useless with these new settings in effect. I had to disable Spamihilator and manually change ALL the incoming and outgoing settings to get my email back up and running with the new settings. So everyone, check your spam filter. It could be the cause of the problem.

i have an issue when loading a workflow. it gives me a following error "The email message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing email settings for the server are configured properly". it doesnt send me any alerts and worlflow fails at the end

I agree with Bistesh. But after Outgoing e-mail settings are configured properly, if the issue still exists,
It may result from your Anti-Virus. Please refer to the following steps:
Open MCAfee Console and go to Access Protection window.
Click Anti-Virus Standard Protection and edit “prevent mass mailing
worms from sending emails” rule.
Now we need to know which processes are being blocked therefore we need to check the MCAfee Log located at
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\DesktopProtection\AccessProtectionLog.txt
you may find entries of DtExec , DtExecUI and DatabaseMail90, now these processes need to be entered in the exclusion list of selected rule .
Reset the IIS And SharePoint Timer service to check if this works for you.

Hi Go to settings Email Accounts Delete Email Account then Re add acount back again If you have more than one Email Account do this with each one. Cheers Brian

Restart the computer from Apple menu.
When restart dialog box appears, uncheck the box beside

AlsO sometimes I. Cannot hear anything in normal speaker even though the call Is going through and has been re ieved on the other end, I have to enable speaker and then disable it to route audio to normal speakers

I think that it is something wrong with kernel and graphic drivers but i'm not able to solve it from the beginning of using of Arch by me.
I'm not so sure this issue is software-related only because in my case it seems the laptop screen enters power-saving mode (10-min timeout) on its own without any events logged (as shown by dmesg) so my next thought was OK, I'm going to get rid of this issue disabling the screen power-saving timeout in the BIOS and set it to never power down or something like that and from then on managing power mode manually; ie: when I want to power down I will just use systemctl suspend/hibernate which work fine ... problem is: there are no related options in my BIOS for such timeout.
The only timeouts I have are in /etc/systemd/logind.conf set to 30min (#IdleActionSec) (commented) by default so these are not in effect because the screens goes blank after 10m which is less than the (default) 30m in logind. Maybe setting loggind to 9m (un-commented) to catch the event before the machine-default one ?

You are still under warranty. Call Apple tech support and let them deal w/it.
You have 14 days to return the computer w/no questions asked. Plus you have 90 days of FREE phone tech support on top of your standard 1 year warranty unless you also purchased AppleCare which gives you an additional 2 years of coverage plus FREE phone support.
Strongly suggest that you take FULL advantage of the above before it runs out. Let Apple deal w/the problems.

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

Email settings changing

Hello,
Out of the blue - my email account settings change and all of a sudden I can't send or receive. I'm alerted to the problem when I can't receive email - the ! appears next to the account. This has happened 4-5 times. I'm using a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X 10.7.5
I'm pretty well versed in checking the account settings now because I've been through it so many times. I've had to delete email accounts and create them again. Many times. My internet connection is solid. I have 3 different email addresses, using three different servers: ICloud, Roadrunner and Gmail.
Now, when I try to add the ICloud account back in, Apple assigns a server that is not the server on the Email Assistant.
Any suggestions/solutions are welcome. Thank you.

Why do my email addresses change when I press enter after each To: entry?

When I start to type a contact name in the text box for a recipient of an outgoing email, typing the first letter no longer brings up contacts that start with that letter. Then, after I select the correct one from further down the list (and it appears, highlighted) when I press Enter, the field changes from the desired recipient to the top one in the list.
This has changed very recently. I have been using TBird for over two years without this issue.

Why discrete Jobs revision change to previous revision even after ECO implementation (Update Jobs/Schedules checkbox unchecked in ECO)

We have an assembly XX and for this we changed the revision to "C" with ECO implementation and we dint select Update Jobs/Schedules check box in it. Now when we go to an existing WIP jobs for this assembly XX and change the revision to XX and save.Now release the Job and the revision is changed back to earlier revision "B".
Any suggestions are welcome for this issue...?

Wonder if any of you brainiacs out there can help me with this one:
I use Windows Live Mail (please hold laughter), mainly because I can't get a sensible handle in Gmail and also because I've been using it a long time and my address is out there and well established. In fact, I have two Live Mail addresses. For the sake of this question, let's refer to them as [email protected] and [email protected]. The reason for the two addresses is that the first one is actually built around my real name and is used for official purposes like business correspondence. The second is a less identifiable address I use for such things as posting on online message boards, etc.
I am trying to manage my emails between both my laptop and my iPhone. I want to be able to receive copies of messages from both accounts on my iPhone, but I want my laptop to always receive a copy of each email and to act as my permanent mail archive. The way I have this set up right now has worked fairly well for the past several years: I created a third email address, [email protected], and I have my messages from each of the other two live.com addresses forwarded to that one. This way, I receive a copy of all emails from both accounts in a kind of global inbox on my iPhone, yet every message is also still downloaded to my laptop, where I can organize and archive them. I don't want / care to maintain an email archive on my phone.
Finally, we arrive at my question: I would like to set up my iPhone so that when I reply to an email, it uses the return address of [email protected], and not [email protected]. Mainly this is because I don't want people receiving email from [email protected] and replying directly back to that address, which then would bypass my laptop altogether.
I realize this is a very long and detailed message describing what is purely a minor annoyance, however, if anyone out there has that puzzle-solving mentality and wants to offer a sensible fix, it would be greatly appreciated. I feel like now that I've upgraded to iPhone 5, it's time to find a more elegant email solution.
