Outgoing messages fail

All of the sudden I can not send email from my Iphone.   I can receive email from my comcast account but when I send I get Cannot Send Mail, The user name or password for SMTP.... is incorrect. How is that possible?  I have not changed it and I can receive email?  ?

After much googling of this exact issue,  this place solved my problem. http://ansonalex.com/videos/cant-send-email-iphone-can-receive-fix/ (copied from site) Users must go into their iPhone settings, access the “Mail, Contacts and Calendars” settings, click on the effected account, access that account’s settings, click on the “Outgoing Mail / SMTP Settings” and, in the first activated SMTP server (the first one that says “on” to the right, retype their password in the password field.Users must also make sure that their full email address is listed in the username field.Even if there is already a password in the password field, users must retype their password.

  • Outgoing messages failing in adapter engine

    Hi,
I would like to know the cause of the following error which I frequently encounter in my Seeburger AS2 adapter engine for outgoing messages
MIC not verified # MIC values not verified: QRP65LlObLvoGwZmMdIFpuXsvzA=-yqCovOQUkVWawfNVfSrXXaRRt8c=
It appears only in the adapter engine and doesnt reflect as an error in RWB.
We have already checked the certificate being used and found it to be valid.
Would like to know the root cause of this.
    Thanks in advance

MIC is the message digest sent by the receiver AS2 system as a part of MDN to acknowledge the status of sent message. This is used by sender for non-repudiation of sent message. This message indicates some problem in the message sent. The point of this verification is the at sender system. This is not exactly XI related problem.
Found a similar problem in Seeburger guides but this is related to authentication failure
Outbound: MIC not verified # authentication-failed, processing continued
    Cause:
An incorrect signing certificate is being was used, but the trading partner continued with the
processing, because it doesnu2019t matter, if the message is authenticated, or not.
    Solution:
    Check the signing certificate configuration.

  • Automator "Send Outgoing Messages" Workflow Failed - 1 error

    Hello,
In my hunt to be able to send a personalised templated e-mail to multiple recipents using Mac Mail, I came accross the automator feature. I've tinkered around with it but can't seem to generate the final action of sending.
    1) New Mail Message (all fields have data as I read in another thread that this might generate errors.)
    2) Get Specified Address Book Items
    3) Group Mailer
    4) Send Outgoing Messages (this is where I get a Workflow failed - 1 error)
Steps 1-3 have green tick marks, Step 4 has the error.
Can anyone point out where I might be going wrong?
    I'm using 10.7.2

    Anyone?????

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Can you send email from that account on another device?
    - You can try deleing the account from the iPod and reentering the settings.

  • Can not get outgoing messages to work despite 3 hrs Apple technician!!!!!!!

I have now worked another 4 hours on this issue. And had help from India as well.
After 3 hours with India technician the issue could still not be solved.I now know that the below settings are correct.I have a case number and tonight spend another 4 hours but no outgoing messages!!!! Except sometimes using one account only but I have 10!!
Maybe I have to give up and accept that the mail is never going to work.I now use a windows computer for my mail. UUE unbelievable unacceptable error from Apple
Result all my accounts read the messages.
The accounts are yahoo/xtra New Zealand
The G mail has an own outgoing server and in connection doctor the light is shown green.
If I can send I do not know yet.
Now for all yahoo xtra accounts I use the same server.
The providers instruction for a NEW account I established is:
    -Incoming Mail (POP3) Server pop3.xtra.co.nz
    Use SSL,port 995
    -Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: send.xtra.co.nz
Enable SSL,port: 465 and enable SMTP server authentication
Print this page for your record.
My conclusion is despite upgrading to Snow Leopard 6.1 where was promised that mail issues had been solved the result is zero and I am sure it is not the providers fault.
I will give here again the link in Google and hope somebody will know what is at hand here.
I was told that some guy in Apple care is supposed to know???
I do not have Apple care.I have spend a lot of time and hope somebody may stand up to get it really sorted out My link found in Google:from which I started.

I now receive and can send E-mails from and for all 10 sub accounts.Today I received an Apple survey message to valuate my experiences. The case number that was given and is not solved at all is
136901000 The very good Apple technicians name is SHIVARAM.It is not his fault that the issue could not be solved.A shame the Apple survey indicated there would not be any follow up of the issue.!!! I just had to phone again!!!
It shows the arrogance that has entered the Apple organization.
Imagine how many people are loosing time with this issue in my case about 2 days!!! Just after installation of a product they call Snow Leopard I payed 59 $ for !!! It should actually have been called Slow Leopard ! only one letter different.!!! Just as my computer only one program failing!!!
Apple version 4.0 E-mail Program.See how they are going to fix this!!!!
So New Zealand needs to talk to India-Phillipines-to get his 59$ purchased program working.!

  • Error message when sending mail : sending the message failed because you have exceeeded your sending limit"

I was trying to email a link from a webpage I loaded in safari.  The email sits in my outbox with a red exclamation point.  WIll not send.  Keeping getting an error message sending the message failed because you have exceeded your sending limit

"I keep getting a "you have exceeded your limit" on my email."
No explanation, makes no sense, it's happening with others.
I have to change (in my outgoing/unsent folder) my sending address from .mac to me.com. After reading the following helpful post:
To get outbox individual mails sent, Try going to outbox, opening each email to edit and change sending email to [email protected] by clicking arrow in from line.  If [email protected] account does not show, go to settings > mail > icloud account > add "[email protected]"  And, until this issue is resolved, set mail to send from [email protected]
(and you should be using smtp.mail.me.com)

  • Send Message Fails

When I try to send a message, a dialog appears that says "Status: Assembling message . . .", then after a few seconds, a Send Message Error dialog appears that says "Sending of message failed. Please verify that your Mail & Newsgroups account settings are correct and try again."
    1. The "Status: Assembling message..." dialog never used to appear and the emails went out fine.
    2. I have checked the account server settings and they ARE correct. I tested them and the server likes them. Error message fails to specify exact cause of failure, so it is of no help.
    3. I removed my user account and recreated it. Same problem, except now my archives and inbox are empty. (Fortunately, I copied my Profile files to a backup location, so I suspect I may not have lost everything if I can figure out how to restore the data files and get TB to recognize the restored files.)
    4. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it. Same problem, didn't fix it.
    5. I created a new account on a different server. Access codes test out properly. Same problem, doesn't send. My hairstyle looks terrible now after my pulling numerous patches of it out.
I have done everything except give up and go to another email program and try to import my data or just start over. Solution is probably simple, but so deep in the hidden guts of the program that I can't find it.
Where's the problem, and how do I correct it??

To diagnose your problems with Thunderbird, try he following:
*Restart the operating system in '''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode safe mode with Networking]'''. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode Windows 8], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows 7], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-vista Windows Vista], [http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true" Windows XP], [http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564 OSX]
; If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.
In this case I would put money on it being the anti virus. The most troublesome at the moment is Avast, but they all block outgoing connections from Thunderbird at different times and disabling email scanning, or SPAM filters, or enabling access in the firewall component or a combination of all of the above can be required.
Safe mode identifies the probable source if things would as they should. It may also only be the account setup process the A/V messes up as well. Thunderbird makes many connection attempts when scanning for settings when they are not in the database (Or connection to the database is blocked by the Anti virus program) and the anti virus just does not faithfully report the results so you get silly error messages.

Check your outgoing (SMTP) mail in mail preferences, make sure that it is set to your mail server and not none or something else. After upgrades, these things can get messed up.

    Hi All,
I am using project server 2007 and WSS 3.0.

  • Whenever I send an e-mail with my yahoo account which is also my apple ID a small icon (personal) picture is attached to the e-mail. How do I remove this picture from being attached to all of my outgoing messages?

Everytime I send a message from my yahoo account (which is also my appleID account) a small icon picture (which is a pic of my ex-boyfriend) is attached to the e-mail heading.  I'm able to notice  I want to remove this from happening. The picture is displayed on my iphone when I open up the mail.
    Steps I take:
    1. I write an e-mail message from my yahoo account to my other .edu account on a desktop computer.
    2. I send the e-mail message from my yahoo account to my other .edu account on a desktop computer.
    3. When I open up my .edu account on my iPHONE, there is a new message from my yahoo account.
    4. Upon opening the e-mail message on my iPHONE, in the title heading it has the title of the email along with a small (upper right) picture on the iPHONE.
Another thing that I tested was the same thing on my iPAD for text messages:
    1. I set up my text messages to my yahoo account (which is also my apple ID account)
    2. I send a text message to a person and the same small icon picture is shown on the ipad with each message that is sent
    3. The person receiving the text message does not get the small icon picture; however, on the ipad it shows this picture (WHICH NEEDS TO BE REMOVED)
I need to determine how this icon picture is associated with both my yahoo and apple ID account. The funny thing is that I don't have this picture on any of my devices (mac, iphone, ipad). It has been completely removed from all of my technology sources. I'm thinking it has to be something to do with the origniation of my apple ID.
PLEASE HELP ME....this picture is hurting my professionalism when I send outgoing messages.
    Thanks.

  • How to view "From" header field in OUTgoing messages in Mail? Frustrating.

In Mail v.4.3 (in OSX 10.6.4), I need to view the "From" field in my outgoing messages as I am composing them. However, there seems to be no setting in Mail which allow this.
I find this very frustrating because in Eudora (which I used to use), the "From" field in outgoing messages is visible by default. But in Mail, not only is it not visible by default, there seems to be no way to make it visible.
In the "Customize..." button to the left of the Subject field in outgoing messages, one has the option to add as default outgoing message fields "cc," "bcc," "Reply-To," and "Subject," but none of those are what I want. It allows one to also view the address of the mail server, but that also is not what I'm looking for. What I want is to see my outgoing +email address+. And nowhere is there an option in the Preferences to turn this on. (At least as far as I could tell.)
In fact, the only way to see the identity in the outgoing "From" field is to go to Preferences, then click on Accounts, and look there; or send oneself a test email. Both of which are a hassle and should be unnecessary.
In case you're curious as to why I want to see my outgoing "From" header field:
I have several different "personas" online, each of which uses a different email address: My work address (with a work-related domain); my family/personal address (with a different email address than my work address); an online avatar I use in various gaming sites (also with its own address, since I don't want to use my personal name/address in the gaming community); and so on. However, I have all incoming emails to all accounts auto-forwarded to the same central email account. Most of the time I'm just replying to business emails, so my outgoing "Full Name" and "Email Address" (in Preferences>Accounts) are generally set to my business name and address; but on occasion when I want to reply to a non-business email and not have the recipient see my business email address, I go in to Preferences>Accounts and change "Full Name" and "Email Address" (i.e. what is displayed to the user) to something different. And when I'm done with that, I change it back to my business address.
However, sometimes I forget if I've changed it back or not, or forget what I've changed it to. In Eudora, All one needed to one was create a new outgoing email and it would display the "From" field so I could instantly see my outgoing identity. But in Mail, there is no "From" field in outgoing emails, so I'm constantly nervous and wondering which outgoing identity I may have changed to and accidentally forgotten to change back from.
(Yes, yes, I know that if a recipient wanted to be snoopy, they could look at the "full headers" of any incoming email and see the name of my email server, which may different from my displayed email address; but we're not talking about spy-stuff here, I'm just trying to not confuse people and keep business separate from personal.)
So: is there any way for me to see the outgoing "From" field in the emails I send? Or am I condemned to constantly (and mostly unnecessarily) checking "Preferences>Accounts" to see what I have enetered there?

    Thanks for replying.
What is the "compose window" to which you are both referring? I could find no reference to such a thing in the Mail menus or Help.
Do you mean the "Composing" pane in the Preferences? I don't see what either one of you is referring to there, but I did notice there something that could function as an awkward workaround: If I click on the "Automatically CC myself" box in Preferences>Composing, then when I start a new email, my email address is displayed in the "CC" field -- and luckily, Mail allows me to then delete my email address out of the CC field, so I don't have to spam myself with duplicate copies of all my emails. This way, I can at least briefly see what email address I'm using, before I delete it from the CC field. Pretty awkward and unnecessarily laborious, however -- still not a perfect solution.
Or, by "composing window," are you referring to an outgoing email? As I said in my original comment, I do see what Ernie called "a small box with lines and an arrow at the bottom left of the header box." This is what I had to say about it:
+"In the "Customize..." button to the left of the Subject field in outgoing messages, one has the option to add as default outgoing message fields "cc," "bcc," "Reply-To," and "Subject," but none of those are what I want. It allows one to also view the address of the mail server, but that also is not what I'm looking for. What I want is to see my outgoing email address. And nowhere is there an option in the Preferences to turn this on. (At least as far as I could tell.)"+
In other words, when Ernie says, "click the box beside From," I can't do that -- because there is no such option. That's the whole problem in the first place. If there was a "From" field beside which I could click a box to make it appear, I would have done so! But there is no "From" field in the "Customize" section of the "small box with lines and an arrow at the bottom left of the header box."
I find it completely mystifying that both of you seem to be able to see a "From" field available to be added to the header of outgoing emails, yet no such option is available to me in Mail. What possibly could be causing this? 10.6.4 is freshly installed on my machine, and Mail seems brand new and uncorrupted. And I'm using Mail 4.3, the latest version.
Are you saying that everyone else can see an option to have a "From" field in their outgoing messages, but I uniquely don't? Very very very strange.
