Outlook 2013 not syncing with Jabber 9.7.3

We are running Office 2013 Professional Plus and the Jabber 9.7.3 client will still not communicate with Outlook.  The bug report says to upgrade to Professional Plus, but it is still not working for us.  Jabber will not search my Outlook contacts or communicate with my calendar.  Has anyone else ran into this issue?
Thanks,
Chris Kujawa

Thanks, but I tried all that - took hours but no joy!! Checking the net, it looks like plenty of people have the same problem.

  • New events on Outlook 2010 not syncing with Iphone and Ipad

I have gone through the nonsensical uninstall/reinstall every 5 restars. This time my new events or contacts on Outlook do not show on iPhone or Ipad. There is also a new confirguration where the Outlook does not separate the iCloud calendar from Outlook calendar but lists them all, then iCloud as a separate box at the bottom. I've tried dragging to that box with no success. I make about 50 appointments and reminders to my calendar each week and use all devices whether in the office or out. How dare Apple not fix this known issue.

I just looked at topic called "Outlook 2010 - Outlook does not sync with iPhone / iTunes and used the fix suggested in that string of posts. It appears to have worked!!! My happy camper.

  • Outlook 2013 not syncing inbox

I have Outlook 2013 on Windows 8.1. It is linked with an external IMAP account. Outlook will not sync and receive message into the Inbox unless I have selected a different folder or selected Calendar, Tasks or another item from the bottom toolbar. Even if
I have Mail selected and select "Send/Receive" messages will not come through. I have checked the settings for automatically receiving messages and setting it on different times does not make a difference. I have tried checking filters, those have
been remove and nothing. I have tried checking settings in my external email (through Bluegenesis) and there is nothing there that makes a difference. It is very frustrating to have to either close out and reopen my Outlook to get new messages or have something
other than Inbox selected. I have tried to check all settings, rules, etc. and do not have anything special set. I already tried removing the account completely and setting it up again, but I'm still having the same issue.

    Hi,
When you set up the account again, did you still use the old .ost file or a new one? Rename the .ost file to ".old", let Outlook create a new one to sync, check if this issue persists.
I also suggest you disable firewall and anti-virus program to try again.
Do you have other accounts in Outlook? If yes, do they have the same issue?
We can run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
If none of the above works, please create a new profile to set up the account, check if the issue persists:

  • Outlook 2013 not connect with Exchange server 2013 in internal network

    Hello All,
I Have two Exchange server 2013 in our environment. Both server install mailbox and CAS role. After configure exchange server 2013, Outlook 2013 not connect in internal network. I have configure outlook manually. i tried by using the suggestion from blog
but not work. Outlook show that Server cannot connect/ server name could not be resolved. in outlook setting i also put exchange proxy setting. In exchange admin center i have changed the OWA, OAB, Auto discover name. But still not work.
I know that outlook can be connect from external by using ssl certificate and publish outlook anywhere but i did my configure from internal network.
Can you please suggest as soon as possible.
    Thanks,
    Parvez

    Hi,
Firstly, I’d like to explain, same with external users, internal users use Outlook Anywhere to connect with Exchange server and use Autodiscover get all settings.
Thus, let’s try the following resolutions:
    1. run the following command: get-clientaccessservice |fl autodiscoverserviceinternaluri
    2. check if the host name in the above URL is in the DNS server and there is a DNS entry about the host name points to the proper IP address.
    3. Check if the above host name is in your certificate.
    Thanks,

  • Outlook 2007 Not syncing with icloud (ios5).

If I add or change a contact on my ipad or iphone they sync without issues.  If I merely update a change of information on my contact list from my iphone or ipad these changes make it to icloud just fine- but they do not sync with outlook on my PC.  I can make changes on outlook on my pc and they will make it to the cloud and onto my iphone & ipad.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Did you ever figure out what to do?  I am having the exact same issue.  All syncing between Outlook - Icloud - Iphone-Ipad work fine EXCEPT if I edit an original contact ON Icloud or any of my devices.  Those edits or changes sync on the devices and Icloud, but NOT back to Outlook.  A newly created contact or one that I've added after the initial download will sync everywhere fine.
It appears from other threads I've read that others are experiencing this also.  Anybody - any thoughts? Fixes? Ideas?

  • Can Outlook 2013 Email sync with iPhone 4s via iCloud?

    Hi.
I am hoping to sync my iPhone 4s with my email in Outlook 2013.  I thought I had found a link online earlier today to do this via the iCloud but my system rebooted and I lost the link.  Can this be done?
When I try to setup my email using iCloud on my laptop I get the following error "Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. Check your Outlook settings and try again."
I have not made any changes in Outlook for fear that I will mess it up.
Looking for any help I can get!
    Jen

Email is not synced from phone to computer.  both devices should be setup to send and recive from the same account.  So setup your iCloud mail on your phone.  then set it up on your computer in Outlook.  if you are having issues with Outlook then ask on a Microsfot forum, as at this point the issue is not realted to your phone.

  • OUTLOOK 2013 not sync'ing

I am getting very frustrated and wondering if anyone else has seen this problem. I have search the database and have found nothing that is relating to my problem
    Here is the Basics:
    1. Using Outlook 2013 on windows 8.1
    2. Also using mail on windows 8.1 (same problems)
    3. I am using  @live.ca email account
    4. I have setup on a windows 7 laptop and outlook 2010 and everything works.
    5. I delete the accounts and reinitialized many time
    6. I have repaired datebase many times
    8. I have forced the sync of groups and mail boxes
    PROBLEM
I cannot get the mail account to sync all email. If I switch the setting to sync only one month everything works great. There are no issues, but have to go to the web app to search beyond one month. The moment I switch to sync all then nothing works. Both
Outlook and Windows 8 mail report issue of not connecting to server. If you shut down the computer and re-sync you see it connect... sync for a bit the give up with an error of not connecting to server. If you leave the program (outlook open for a few days
it sporadically syncs some data without any pattern to the data it does sync, and the connection error is always prevalent.
    Please Help
    Jason

    Hi,
Please disable the firewall and anti-virus program temporarily, especially virus scanner integration in Outlook, check if the issue persists:

Since you have reinitialized the account many times, we can also try creating a new Profile to setup the account in Outlook, which will also generate a new .ost file to sync:

  • Outlook 2013 not syncing subfolders - IMAP

    Hello,
Currently having issues with Outlook 2013 / Office 365 not syncing subfolders correctly.
    Example.
Receive email > answer email > move email over to new subfolder > goto subfolder and email does not show?? > go to webmail and both email and subfolder show correctly.
Read lots of articles on this but no solution to the problem.
    article 1 - http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/email/email-troubleshooting/imap-issues-affecting-outlook-2013-and-office-365-functionality
If this carries on then a move back to Thunderbird is on the cards as i've imaged this along side outlook and do not have any issues with thunderbird.  it works perfectly... unlike Outlook.

goto subfolder and email does not show?? > go to webmail and both email and subfolder show correctly.
As per the description above, it seems the subfolder and email message got uploaded correctly to the server, it's just not display in the subfolder in Outlook 2013 client side. If I have misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
Does this only happen to this specific subfolder?
To troubleshoot this issue, I would suggest we first check what view settings you have of this faulty folder. Maybe you have it set for Unread Messages Only or something that is filtering out the messages you just moved:
Select the folder, go to "VIEW" tab on the ribbon
Click "View Settings" button. On the "Advanced View Settings" dialog, click "Filter..." button
Check if you have any filters which might filter out the message. Clear it, then try again.
Hope this helps, please feel free to post back with any findings.

  • Outlook does not sync with Office 365

I am having issues with 3 "newly" created account on Office 365 with Outlook 2013.
    Office 365 Accounts
    All 3 accounts are new
All 3 had not have any emails imported
All accounts on the same domain etc etc
    Outlook 2013
Running in Windows 7/8 with EXCHANGE mode (not IMAP or POP)
It syncs initially, then does not send or
sync anything (ie. emails, contacts, calendars, tasks etc)
Account cache of between 3-24 months - none works
Tried with Cache disabled - still persistent
Tried Outlook in Safe Mode - no difference
Outlook 2013 is FRESH Win7x64 install on a PC WITHOUT any Office - still same
Outlook 2013 on existing Win8x64 - same result
It is NOT an OST error as all 3 are NEW accounts and newly created OST
Tried that Outlook debugger website with 13 methods to try - still the same
    Outlook 2011 (Mac)
Created new Identity - works perfectly
Emails, Contacts, Calendars and Tasks all synchronise properly
I remember Microsoft used to make Microsoft products work with each other fantastic OOB - why does it work on a Mac but not on a Windows PC?

This is very frustrating, I cannot seem to get the Exchange Server as the "About" is no longer available, and I cannot get the Exchange GUID via Powershell:

Account successfully connected and started Outlook - however it failed, so I determined the mailbox server as per this article: http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/685/t/141805.aspx
I got the server as hkxpr06.outlook.com

  • Outlook 2013 Calendar syncing with Blackberry Q10 error

Hi, i am facing a big challenge while syncing the Outlook 2013 calendar with blackberry Q10 through Blackberry Link Software.
When syncing to BB, I get sync error "The following reoccurring event could not be synced: 13-Oct-14 - MD Mtg with Mgmt. Remove the event and sync again". The error refers to an event for a particular date. Practically, there is no such event in
    outlook for that particular date.
I have tried syncing other calendars from the same outlook file successfully but failing to do with that particular calendar. I have also tried to sync the same calendar from outlook 2010 from different OS without any success. I am running Windows 7 - 64bit
    OS.
I am running all latest updated patches from Microsoft and Blackberry for both OS.
This calendar is very important as it has more than 3000 event entries.
Please help me to resolve the same at earliest since the issue seems to be in particular Outlook 2013 calendar file. I suppose there could be some hidden entry for that particular date which is causing syncing to fail.
Kindly let me know if you require any further information.

    Hi,
This generaly means there is a problem with the indicated event, which cannot be sync'd to BlackBerry. You have to delete it before resyncing the calendar.
If the entry does not appear for the date mentioned in the message, it may be located on one of the historic dates according to the recurrence pattern.
Or you can use the tool of MFCMAPI to delete a hiden or corrupted calendar event:

  • Calendar – Outlook does not sync with iPhone / iTunes

I posted this question to the iphone hardware forum, however it seems to be more suited to iTunes.
I have had Microsoft Office 2003 working with iTunes and my iPhone 4 to sync my calendar and contacts for some time, and everything worked perfectly up to the other day.
Recently I upgraded from Microsoft Office 2003 to Office 2010, and now the calendar will not sync.  Contacts seems to sync ok, but not the calendar.
I have recently gone through several iterations of upgrades for iTunes, iPhone, and other MS patches and updates.  Evrything is now up to date.  However, nothing I do changes to way that Outlook ignores the iTunes sync.
Everything worked fine until the upgrade to Office 2010.  I have changed all of the settings in both iTunes and Outlook and on the phone itself.  There does not seem to be any way to make it work.
I always wait for some time before doing any upgrade to make sure the bugs are worked out of it.  Since Microsoft Office 2010 has been out for almost three years, I would have assumed that iTunes would work with it, as it normally did with earlier versions.  (my mistake)
While the potential is there for the iPhone to ba a good business tool, the basic inability to reliably sync to Outlook (what is agrguably the most prevalent e-mail, contacts and calendar program currently in use) seems to be a relatively significant issue.
Is there any way to fix this?

I looked at the article you referenced, however it appears that the focus is to get Google calndar and Outlook to work together.  I do not use Google calendar.
The only real change to the Microsoft side appears to be the change of the version in the Outlook executable file.
Is this all it takes to get MS Office 2010 to sync with iTunes?

  • Outlook 2013 not compatible with Exchange 2003

    Hello
Some of my customers bought SBS 2003 R2 just before SBS 2008 was released so they have systems which are only 4+ years old. SBS 2003 came with Exchange 2003 pre-installed. Outlook 2013 does not support Exchange 2003. So they cannot upgrade their Outlook
    clients to 2013 version.
    Microsoft, is this correct?!

If this post is hard to read, it's because of Dragonsoft!!  (sometimes it is like auto-correct on the phone - "I said WHAT!??")
Overall I think this is the most interesting thread that I have ever read on Microsoft.com.
As a computer for professional for over 30 years, I've always followed the context that software products are designed for a three to five-year term, to have more is a luxury.
When I was first in the industry (1983), Microsoft had a tendency to change the software versions every year to two years. As we approached the era of Windows XP there was an expected lifetime use of three years. Every two years a new product would appear.
So, when windows XP lasted well beyond the three-year term, it was pretty exciting to not have to spend money on new product, and we all enjoyed the decade of Windows XP.
The new generation of IT professionals has somehow believe that software products should live more than five years, and it just blows my mind!
The reason that I make this post, is because I've used SBS ever since Back Office Server 4.5, and the versions of small business server (now called Small Business Server) have always appeared on the market 1 to 3 years after the primary versions of
Windows for which they are named.  So I always felt that there was a disadvantage to using small business server in that the products appearing inside of SBS had been on the market for a few years before being incorporated into the SBS package. It
made me feel, at first, that Microsoft was waiting on the level of maturity within the product before creating the SBS package. Now that I look back on the whole process it made me think that the SBS team had some difficulty merging the products into a install
package which could handle the intricacies of the licensing limitations on the SBS system.
SBS 2003 was a great tool when it came out, but I found that it was riddled with security holes. To say the least some of my first SBS 2003 servers had their exchange system hacked by outside influences. (These were external facing servers who had websites
and exchange server running with public domain names, even though there were firewalls!) After a few patches, DNS modifications, reverse DNS entries, and some changes in the exchange system, I was finally able to make the system secure and solid.
My first real nightmare with SBS was when upgrading to SBS 2003 R2, which, yes, appeared around 2005. You cannot simply upgrade a machine from SBS to a new version.  You must purchase a new server, install the new SBS version, and migrate your
entire installation to this new host. (While running SBS 2003 for several years and making backups on a tape, I realized that the new hardware on the market would not support a restore from my tape backup!)  The whole process is rather daunting as not
all of the detailed steps to upgrade work as expected. I had to call, and pay, Microsoft to complete the process because exchange had trouble during the migration.
So off we went with our new installation of SBS 2003 R2.  Then along came SBS 2008!  I went through the same steps again... new hardware, new software, and, yes, paid Microsoft, again, for support to migrate.
When SBS 2011 appeared on the scene I was willing to upgrade again. Having gone through this, twice now, I  fully prepared the client to purchase a new system and to purchase the new software. But because I was faced with the whole entire
nightmare of new hardware, migration, and having to call Microsoft to complete the process, I decided on a new approach. This time we were going to buy server which would run VMware.  (I was not going to get stuck in a hardware box that I could not replace
if I ever needed to restore the operating system due to a massive failure.)  So off I went, purchasing a new box, installing VMware, and installing my favorite operating system, Microsoft SBS!
Well, to say the least, it wasn't exactly as exciting as I had expected. Had some trouble getting VMware to settle into the new hardware, as there seemed to be some compatibility issues, but was able to work it out. Eventually, I was able to get started
on the migration. Things went well up until the point that I got to the exchange migration, and ran into a similar problem as before! A call to Microsoft revealed that it was even a little daunting for the support personnel, but as I documented the things
that they modified, and even performed a little cleanup, after they performed their cleanup!  I can happily say that I'm no longer worried about hardware issues, when it comes to restoring my SBS server in case of a failure!
Overall I'm pleased with having used Microsoft SBS solutions over the past 10 years, but I would never expect, nor would I lead my customer to expect, that a product should last 10 years!
Previous comments have indicated that server should last seven years because they can be depreciated that way, I believe that to be entirely false!  I live in Texas, and the state of Texas DIR program has adopted standards which state that
you should replace your hardware every five years! State agencies have this as a requirement, and it is not optional!  Many state agencies have gone to leasing their equipment, which is a three-year term. (Where do you think off-lease equipment comes
    from, anyway?)
One of my primary clients looked at me one day, and directly ask, "Okay, if we spend the $10,000 on the new server and software, how long should it last?"
Obviously, I wanted to say, "Forever!" But, remembering something that my mother had said (always plan for the worst and you always come out on top!), I said back to them, "I believe we should plan for a three-year lifespan, and if we get
any more than that, it will be a luxury." Needless to say, there have been some upgrades which lasted well more than three years, but there have been some which have been spot on.
The SBS server is a huge savings over purchasing the individual products separately. But there have always been some drawbacks during the upgrade process which makes the entire feasibility of the installation top-heavy when it comes to support costs.
I have noticed is that the SBS servers require more labor to keep them running smooth, especially with backup procedures and backup software, as SBS always requires a third-party product to make a "real" (restorable) backup.
A client's expectations should be that you are taking care of their business without them having to worry about what takes place in the tech room. They understand, and realize, that they can pay you a specific amount of money for your support without necessarily
having to purchase new hardware. But a good, healthy relationship with your client means that they should always be willing to upgrade, whether it is a workstation or server.
If you allow a client to be painted in a corner, then it's not their fault, it's your fault!  Because, they have no idea what the new technology can do, and don't realize what's on the market. It's your job to keep up with what's current and to deliver
expectations which make them realize that each year has a dollar value attached to it, whether it is spent, or not.
If you have a client is unwilling to spend money to upgrade their equipment, then there's something else wrong with their business, and you should probably consider that they may not be in business for very long. So don't make it your problem when
they are unwilling to spend money.  You don't work for free.
One last, quick example of the conversation that I had with a client who was unwilling to upgrade because things seem to be working so well.  I put it like this, "You pay me to make certain that your business operates in good times and in
bad. Right now, everything is fine. If your building were to burn, and the only thing we had were the backups, I cannot go out and purchase new hardware and restore your system successfully.  The equipment that we have operating here is no longer
available on the market.  If I were to find the equipment, it would be out-of-date, and most likely, used, and I cannot guarantee its compatibility or functionality. So, if I can't restore your system to an operational status, then what would you do?
I don't believe there are any number of man-hours you can use to recover the information lost. You would probably have to go out of business! If your business becomes my business, then I would try to move to a position where my data is safe and my business
can continue in the case of catastrophe. The only way I can do this, is to purchase new hardware, new software, and put you back in a position of compatibility with the market. One of the things I always try to do is keep your business operations at a point
where if I die, someone else can come in and take my place. The whole idea here is to keep your business going."
It didn't take them long to come back and surprise me, "Make a list of what you need. Don't give us a list of what we need to get by, tell us what we need to be productive for several years.  We don't want to patch this together
    and always have problems."
And just as a note, your customer can write off $10,000+ per year for new equipment purchases.  I think the number may be higher now. I had one customer who purchased a $15,000 system in December and wrote off $10,000 in one year and the other $5000,
a month later, in the next year!
