Outlook Calender and Tasks Scheduling forecast Improvement

Often times task assigned don't end in one hour or a few hours or few days.  It would be nice to have a feature whereby I can select "To be completed in" 10 "weeks" or "days" or "hours".  So I can custom
enter my number, but also custom choose how long the task will be:  weeks or days or months.  Something of the likes of a "Scheduling wheel cart" given out by our Vendors for advertising.  This neat feature if incorporated will give
the user an instantaneous outlook of the forcast for specific tasks and can plan other items or make important schedule planning decisions.

Hi,
The Task is an Outlook feature which data is saved in mailbox in Exchange server. Since the issue is related to the Outlook feature instead of Exchange server, please refer to Ed Crowley’s suggestion to ask a question in Outlook forum for more help:

  • Mail with calender and tasks etc.

    Hi,
I'm new to Macs and am trying to get myself up to speed with available software. I used to use Outlook would like to find something similar for the Mac. That is to say, I'd like email software with a calender and tasks as per what I'm used to... it helps me with the work flow and reminders etc... (bad memory).
I've looked at mail, that wich comes default with Macs, but it seems to be a little too simple.
Are there any others that would fit the bill?
    Thanks,
    Matthew.

    Hi all,
I decided to try this program, as the idea of an integrated program seemed like a great idea. I looked at entourage, and this seems similar, but I am enjoying it so far.
I am wondering if there are any draw backs to this, before I lay out the $$ for it.
Like I say I have not tried anything like it before so I have nothing to compare it to.
    What do you guys think.
Thanks, peace and happy mail to all.

(I don't have anything to do with the company, just find it a nice idea and am very enthusiastic about it, if it works.)

  • Ovi Suite Calender And Tasks / Notes Sync Problem

I am using a N79. I have downloaded the latest version of Ovi Suite to my Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit operating system. But now I am having a problem with sync. Calender and tasks , notes can not be synced with Ovi Suite. A notification window opens saying that reconnect and connect again USB or bluetooth. When I do this, nothing happens and sync again fails. I uninstalled Ovi Suite and installed Nokia PC Suite. No problem is seen with sync. Before my Windows 7, I was using Vista but there was no problem with Ovi Suite sync. By the way there is no problem with contacts, photos, bookmarks, music sync with Ovi Suite.
What may be the problem? How can I solve the problem.....????
    THANKS!!!!!!!

Yes I've checked the link too. But I still can't sync the notes (and only the notes) from my Nokia E65.
OVI Suite will happily copy all other content at start up but failes when it starts to copy the notes each time giving the "Reconnect USB...." message with error number 83860005 (if that means anything to anyone).
After many attempts yesterday I copied the notes to my Outlook, but again I now get the same mesage and it won't update! The only thing that I can think of is that some of my notes are pretty long and that there maybe a limit to the number of characters copied befor the process terminates???

  • Incremental and Full backups using WBADMIN and Task Scheduler in Server 2008 R2

I'd like to create an automated rotating schedule of backups using wbadmin and task scheduler, which would backup Bare Metal Recovery; System State; Drive C: and D: to a Network Share in a pattern like this:
Monday - Incremental, overwrite last Monday's
Tuesday - Incremental, overwrite last Tuesday's
Wednesday - Incremental, overwrite last Wednesday's
Thursday - Incremental, overwrite last Thursday's
Friday - Incremental overwrite last Friday's
Saturday - Full, overwrite last Saturday's
I need to use the wbadmin commands within the Task Scheduler and do not know any of the required Syntax to make sure everything goes smoothly, I do not want to do this through the CMD.

I know each backup for the previous corresponding day will be replaced, how do you figure I wont be able to do incremental backups...
Because incremental backup is based on Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) feature and due to Windows Server 2008 R2 limitations (this limitation is resolved in Windows 8) only one version of backed up data can be stored in a shared folder. So the
result is that every time you back up some data on a shared folder, you actually creating a full backup of them.
is it not supported through task scheduler?
The Task Scheduler is only a feature that does the tasks that you have defined for it. Actually it runs the
wbadmin command that runs on an operating system with the mentioned limitation.
I know you can do Incremental backups through Windows Server Backup, but my limitation using that is I cant setup multiple backups.
Yes, you are right. Windows Server Backup feature in Windows Server 2008/2008 R2 has not this functionality (although
ntbackup in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 had this functionality). So, the only workaround to this limitation is through using Task Scheduler feature with wbadmin command. For more information see the following article:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2009/04/13/customizing-windows-server-backup-schedule.aspx
So are you saying that even though I want each backup to go to a different place on the Shared Folder that it will replace the previous backup anyways?
No and because of this I said in my previous post that with some modifications and additions you can do the scenario. For example, you back up to a shared folder with the name of Shared1 on Mondays. You also have been configured the backup feature to back
up data on another shared folder, named Shared2, on Wednesday. When you repeat the backup operation in Shared1, only the backed up data that resides on it will be affected, and the data on Shared2 remains intact.

    Hi R.Alikhani
Then do you know if wbadmin supports incremental backup in Windows 8? As you said the VSS issue is fixed in Win8. However, the wbadmin has less options then in windows server. I tried a bit but it seems it only supports full backup? ps, I use a network share
    - will the incremental backup works if I define a ISCCI then? My remote backup PC is also running Win8.

  • Q10 sync outlook notes and tasks

please fix the q10 so it can sync outlook notes and tasks - a very important feature!

I find it shocking that this "issue" has still not been resolved.  Why do you keep giving people reasons to switch?  Tasks and notes are integral to many people's BB experience...

  • N86 no longer syncs with Outlook Calendar and Task

I have been having much troubles with syncing my N86 (recently updated to 30.009 firmware) to my Outlook 2003 with Ovi Suite 2.1.1.1.
At first, the Contacts kept duplicating themselves.  I have about 1000 contacts in my Outlook, but Ovi Suite (and my N86 device) ends up sometimes with 1800 contacts -- of which 800 are duplicates.  This is very annoying and time consuming to clean up of course.  I have discovered that the problem is somehow linked to Ovi.com.  I have since turned off syncing to Ovi.com and only keep my N86 device in sync with Outlook and Ovi Suite.  But that wasn't before I had to basically delete all my contacts from the N86 device and from Ovi Suite, followed by a sync to Outlook.
Around this same time, I have noticed that my N86 device was missing appointments that I had entered into Outlook 2003.  I discovered that the N86 device no longer syncs to Outlook through Ovi Suite.  I keep getting the error message "Sync Canceled -- Could not sync calendar items and tasks. Plug the USB cable into your device again or connect via Bluetooth. Then sync again."  I did reconnect my N86 device but the same error message shows each time.  Basically, Ovi Suite has stopped syncing Calendar items with my N86 device now.
Can anyone suggest what might have gone wrong?  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  What can I do to get my calendar items back into my device?

    Hi Tickles,
Could you be more specific about your issue.
Which operating system do u use?
Are you trying to connect thru cable or thru Bluetooth?
Go to OVI suite -> help -> About nokia OVI suite -> System information. Paste the information...

  • Nokia phones shared calender and task database

    Hi.. all;
I have very strange question ... is there any body can provide me list of Nokia phones shared calendar and task database and another list with Nokia phones not sharing the DB of calendar and tasks ..
    Regards

SyncML with Google supports only contacts Synchronisation with Symbian phones. You could've added this in the previous thread insted of starting a new one. Ovi sync is the only way now to sync contacts, calender, notes.

  • OVI problem replace calender and tasks with those ...

    hi all,
I have a brand new Nokia C2-01 that I love. But I am struggling with the OVI suite and beg for your help
Using the latest version of OVI (3.1.1.85), I want to keep the calender on the mobile up to the date with those in my Outlook. As I mainly change my dates in Outlook, I want this calender as the only source for the mobile calender.
here is the problem: whenever I sync the calender with the C2-01, it does not recognize the changes made in Outlook. it simply mixes the dates both calenders and creates a mess in both (same when I allow to delete dates)
in the old nokia pc suite - which, unfortunately, does not suppert the C2-01; I already tried - there was this nice feature that first deleted all entries on the mobile phone and then but the content of the Outlook calender in there. OVI, for whatever reason, does not have it anymore
what can I do to make this work?
    thanks a lot!
    harry

  • Mmc and task scheduler

I setup a policy to block the MMC tools I don't want users to have access to but somehow this also blocked task scheduler, my research indicates this is a known problem but I have yet to see a solution.
Any ideas how I can achieve my goal without affect Task scheduler?

    Hi,
Before going further, thanks for providing the link.
It is true that there is no specific policy setting to permit Task Scheduler snap-in. As a result, we can choose to individually disable the snap-ins we want to , or we can refer to the method provided by Cicely Feng in the thread you mentioned to
import a custom adm file to do this.
To create a custom adm file, we can create a txt file, copy the template to this txt file, and then modify the txt file to .adm file.
Regarding how to add a custom adm file to a GPO, the following article can be referred to for more information.
Add or remove an Administrative Template (.adm file)

  • Deleting Calender and Tasks from Zen Mi

<SPAN class=postbody>I want to delete some things in my calender/tasks in my Zen Micro. I deleted them off my Outlook already but when I tried to sync it, it doesn't detect that I deleted those items. So my question is how I can clear my tasks list in my Zen Micro.<SPAN class=gensmall>

Agreed - and something should be removed from the organizer menus too.
I mean what is the point of having a volume level for a calendar item ? Huh ?

  • Outlook Calender and iphone sync not working properly (windows 7 os)

I try to sync through itunes and contacts work fine, but the calender only comes through partially. Single events work fine, but events (on outlook) which extend more than a day are completely ignored by itunes sync and don't show up on the iphone calender.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Alright... I think I have worked this out.
Clearing history alone was not enough. I had to clear the history THEN reboot the phone.  My events seem to be coming though now. Interesting though... on events coming from iphone to outlook the right click mouse menu is disabled. If I want to delete, edit or alter that event in outlook I have to left click and actually open it.

  • Ovi Suite Outlook meeting and task reminders

Hello, when working I strongly rely on Outlook's reminders window. When a reminder for a task or a date is active on the mobile, I have to stop the alarm in order to not have the alarm start every couple of minutes although the task might not be finished. Upon the next synchronisation with the PC, the reminder will be removed from the task/date on the PC and the task/date will no longer show up in the reminder window although the task might not be finished. Repeated tasks also have their reminders removed once and forever and future instances of these tasks will no langer call attention. This is proper performance of the mobile calendar software and Ovi synchronisation (apart from the repeated tasks maybe) as far as I can see still I would need to work around this behaviour because of the aforementioned reasons. What I would need is to stop the reminder on the mobile and still have the task/date stay in outlook's reminder window. Any ideas apart from the trivial "don't synchronize" solution? • SLLLOOOWWW calender and task performance

My 8830 worked very well till recently(except that ringtones are almost inaudible).  When a reminder pops up, it takes 5 to 60 seconds to open, dismiss or edit a reminder.  This is not the way it used to perform.
I have reset the BB - no effect.  I power cycled - no effect.
Anyone know what makes an otherwise useful device perform so poorly and how to resolve it?

thank you again for your answer,
I've done that but hard drive health is also ok as you can see from the screenshot.
IAt the time of the screenshot I had just fineshed to boot up the laptop and it wasnt hot at all.

  • I have given up on using Outlook 2010 with icloud. How can I use icloud to manage all of my calender and contacts?

I had been using Outlook 2010 synced to my iphone (4) and ipad and ipad2. It has not been a pleasant or successful endevor. I have a successful copy of my Calender and contacts on the icloud now. When I try to connect to the calender using icloud the message only tells me an error has occured and please send this info to Apple, but not provide any info on why it does not work. What do I need to do? Thanks

  • Outlook Calender to iPhone via USB Drive

I need a little help. I want to move my work outlook calender events, things I have scheduled while at work all day, to my personal iPhone however I can't bring my iPhone into my work space. In what format do I save my outlook calender and how do I import the contacts to my iPhone. I used my thumb drive once and it worked but I can't replicate what I did the last time.
    Thanks in advance,

What are your export or backup options with Outlook for all data or just for calendars and calendar events and for contact info?
Once you get this data imported by Outlook 2007 on your PC at home, you select this under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences - Outlook 2007 for syncing contact info and the same for syncing calendar events - there is a Contacts and Calendars section under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences for making these selection.
After selecting Outlook 2007 for syncing contact info and calendar events, this must be followed by syncing your iPhone with iTunes - iTunes serves as the sync conduit for this.
