OutOfMemoryError from weblogic.utils.io.Chunk

I am running WebLogic 8.1.2 and EJB 2.0.
The front-end is a Java applet.
When the users try to submit large file (>10M) to the application, the java.lang.OutOfMemoryError is thrown.
After some tracing, the exception is thrown from weblogic.utils.io.Chunk.
I searched the BEA documents and found about "weblogic.utils.io.chunkpoolsize" in WebLogic 9.
The default max. size for the "Chunk" is only 8M.
However, there is no documentation about how to increase the max "Chunk" size in WebLogic 8.
Would someone please point me to the instruction about how to increase the "Chunk Pool" size in WebLogic 8?
Thank you very much.

Hello, I got ANSWER! about this problem..!!
I also applied CR346335 to my system, but there is still a OOME problem.(same problem)
And I tried to looking CR359183 on BEA, but couldn't find it.
(and my vendor said, BEA doesn't announce MP3 yet.)
Here is my answer...
You must use "Native I/O" on WLS 9.2 to avoid OOME
(if you use "Java I/O (same as "Not use Native I/O")", you can't help to face OOME soon...
If you must use 64bit JVM, you must use 64bit "Native I/O" too. (Because of this, I spent a lot of time to solve it.. T.T )
※ Make sure that the "Native I/O" apply successfully..!! You can see the WLS starting log to know whether it applied successfully or not.
You can see the effect of "Native I/O" on your WLS webadmin console.
Open up Browser, go webadmin console -> Environment -> Servers... and use "Customize this table" so you can see the two column blow..
1. Currently Open Sockets
2. Total Sockets Opened
Before you apply "Native I/O", you can see the "SOCKET" keep going to increase and never go down.
if you apply "Native I/O" successfuly, you can see the "SOCKET" temparary go up, but soon go down.
For more Information, mail to me [email protected]
Thanks...

  • Servicegen:  unable to load type library from classloader weblogic.utils.cl

    Hi,
    I am new to weblogic. I am encountering an error on trying to run the 'servicegen' command from my ant build scripts, on weblogic 9.2.
    Please find the build.xml snapshot, and the stack trace given below.
    Please help me out with this.
    Points to be noted are:-
    1) The ejb-jar.xml specifies the bean class, which is very much present in the classpath. The ejb-jar.xml is generated by xdoclet. Snapshot is given below:-
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">

    <transaction-type>Container</transaction-type>
    </session>
    </enterprise-beans>
    </ejb-jar>
    2) When I replace the "ejbJar" attribute in the 'service' command with "javaClassComponents" attribute, I am able to run the servicegen command successfully. Not sure why the ejbJar is creating problems.
    3) Build.xml snapshot:-

    We are using Http Utility (http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/httpclient/) from

    On Solaris
    [exec] tModelInstanceInfo_description : weblogic.utils|weblogic.tils|weblogic.net|weblogic.management
    After this I changed the startWLS.sh on Solaris and set
    -Djava.protocol.handler.pkgs=com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol in java options.
    On looking the system properties again, the output was
    [exec] tModelInstanceInfo_description : com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol|weblogic.utils|weblogic.utils|weblogic.net|weblogic.management
    But still the error is same. Can somebody help me out here as to what is going
    wrong? Please find the java class attached for reference, please have a look at
    postXMLtoLloyd() method in the class file..

    I tried to debug the problem by looking at system properties on windows and solaris,
    the difference that I found was
    On Windows
    [exec] tModelInstanceInfo_description : com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol
    On Solaris
    [exec] tModelInstanceInfo_description : weblogic.utils|weblogic.tils|weblogic.net|weblogic.management
    After this I changed the startWLS.sh on Solaris and set
    -Djava.protocol.handler.pkgs=com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol in java options.
    On looking the system properties again, the output was
    [exec] tModelInstanceInfo_description : com.sun.net.ssl.internal.www.protocol|weblogic.utils|weblogic.utils|weblogic.net|weblogic.management
    But still the error is same. Can somebody help me out here as to what is going
    wrong? Please find the java class attached for reference, please have a look at
    postXMLtoLloyd() method in the class file..

  • Weblogic.utils.AssertionError moving from 6.1sp3 to 6.1sp4

    Has anyone used webstart with 6.1sp4
    I have a Java Webstart (v1.0.1) swing application deployed to a
    weblogic 6.1 sp3 server. This configuration has worked successfully
    for the last 6 months. I am now trying to install sp4 and I get the
    following error. I have recompiled my application and my ejbs. I
    have also tried packaging the full weblogic.jar from sp4 with my
    application. After I return the context using

    This is fixed in SP5. You coula get a patch over SP4 from support by referring to
    CR093416.

    Hello,
    Part of the HS_ERR_PID says:
    # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (1.6.0_01-b06 mixed mode)
    Does that mean you are running CF8 without updater1 applied? If updater1 was there I would expect JVM 1.6.0_04. Give that is correct you could apply updater1 and once that is done even update the JVM to a more current version. I see Java Dev Kit 1.6.0_23 is current, I have successfully used CF8 with 1.6.0_22.
    There might be some interesting detail in the coldfusion-out.log file which likely is in [CF]\runtime\logs or [Jrun]\logs pending server or multiserver.
    HTH, Carl.

  • Upgrading a project from Weblogic Integration 8.1.3 to Weblogic Integration

    Can anyone offer any advice to assist me in upgrading a project from Weblogic Integration 8.1.3 to Weblogic Integration 9.2.1?
    Here are some nuances of the project:
    * The JNDI, JDBC, & JMS server resources are secured; access is controlled by Deployment Descriptor run-as/security-role/... tags and custom CSPs
    * The application is currently build for deployment using wlwBuild ant task (class in workshop.core.WlwBuildTask which is located in the 8.1.3 {weblogic.home}/workshop/wlw-ide.jar - so far I can't find this class/task in my 9.2.1 install)
    * The following are the application characteristics (and utilized WLI features): multiple web apps, EJBs, JMS, Page flow/netUI, web services, WLI controls (process, java, transformation), XMLBeans
    * One of the project goals is to not make any functional changes and modify as little code as necessary (the only expected justification for a modification is a) fallout out from the JVM 1.5 upgrade or b) something is no longer available in WLI 9.2)
    I know there is a edocs page with a tutorial for upgrading from 8.1.4 or 8.1.5 to 9.2, but I am interested in knowing if anyone has insight on upgrading directly from 8.1.3?
    Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.
    Regards,
    Andy Frank

    just as a followup to my original message.. regarding the 8.1.4 install log that had all the warnings with the msi it expected and the different one it found... at the bottom of the log..this is what I got;
    Property(S): SourcedirProduct = {AC76BA86-7AD7-1033-7B44-A81300000003}
    MSI (s) (6C:30) [11:11:23:828]: Product: Adobe Reader 8.1.4 - Update 'KB408682' installed successfully.
    MSI (s) (6C:30) [11:11:23:828]: Product: Adobe Reader 8.1.4 -- Installation operation completed successfully.
    when i go into adobe reader -> help -> about i stillget 8.1.3

  • Migrating applciation from weblogic to oracle 9i application server(OC4J)??????

    Hi,
    I am migrating my ejb application from weblogic to oracle 9i application server.What changes are needed to be made in code and what configuration changes are required.
    In my application i use a couple of session beans wherin a session bean calls the method of the other session bean which acceses the database.I am using a jdbc thin driver for the database connection. is it possible for a session bean to call a method of another session bean which access the database??This concept works well in weblogic where the current application is running.
    The problem is that while migrating the application to the orion server, it gives an OrionCMTException ...
    memory leak..etc.
    Could any one clarify.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi Avi and Harrison,
    Cease Fire avi!!!!.First of all let me clear the issue of posting the same problem twice.Well, when i mentioned the problem the first time , i found the title session bean deployment was not right and few people would look into it as it was a common problem so i thought it would be appropriate if i mentioned the title correctly , so i posted the query again with the change in title.
    Now coming to the answer for ur questions.
    The platform used is MS Windows NT.
    The (OC4J) version is 1.0.2.2.1.
    I am not using JDeveloper.
    The database is oracle 8i and i am using the thin driver.
    The beans to be deployed are stateless session beans.
    The client involved is a web client i.e a jsp application.
    The first session bean is as follows.
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.Statement;

    But if the DBUTILITY session bean is changed to a simple bean and accessed the code works fine and i am able to retrieve the data.Is the problem there because u one session bean cannot access a database connection method from another one or could it be because of the driver???
    I hope i am clear.Please revert back in case any more references are needed.
    Thanks in advance!!!!!!

  • Weblogic.utils.AssertionError: weblogic 8.1 SP4 cluster

    Hi,
    I'm try to run a junit test from eclipse that runs a method in a bean deployed on a WL8.1 SP4 cluster.
    There are other posts for AssertionErrors in the firum but none have this particular error, the only references I could find to it were BEA readme docs for problems solved in WebLogic 7.
    If I move the bean from the cluster and run it on the admin server then happy days so I'm thinking it could be a cluster config problem?

    Assuming the log entries you care about are generated by your application, and not the infrastructure, you're better off adding millisecond detail to your application log messages. If you're using commons-logging, you can tie this to the WL server log implicitly through configuration, or you could use NonCatalogLogger to explicitly log to the WL server log.

    I have created a separate user account for this purpose while all the

    /usr/local/weblogicac. I can access individual jsp pages through
    absolute URL but then I use a portal name to access the portal, it

    trying to create a separate development environment using the same

    <ANSWER>
    Theoretically, the working directory JSP for the portal implementation that
    tells the portal framework where to find your portal pages and the BEA
    WebLogic Portal pages.(This page is qualified from yourDocumentRoot as
    defined in the weblogic.properties file.)
    Example: workingdir=/portals/myPortal/
    You need to register the new working Dir in Weblogic.Properties files and
    restart your Application Server after you create your new working Dir.
    It is not easy to say with the situatrion that you described. Please check
    the link http://edocs.beasys.com/wlac/portals/docs/portal.htm#getting for
    details to create working Dir step by step. It may meet your needs. You may
    also check http://www.weblogic.com/docs/admindocs/properties.html#jsp for
    further information about JSP working Dir setting.
    Please try it again and post the result if it's possible.

  • Exception weblogic.utils.ParsingException in redhat Linux (include JSP)

    Hi,
    We have a lot of application (war,ear) deployed in Windows XP Server, Sun Solaris with WebLogic Server 7.2 and shows no problem, but now I installed the same applications in WLS SP2 in Linux RedHat 9, and deployed I haven't had any
    problem in doing so, but I get an error when I try to view these applications in the browser.
    The message is:
    9,name=hubcontrol,context-path=/hubcontrol)] Root cause of ServletException
    weblogic.utils.ParsingException: nested TokenStreamException: antlr.TokenStreamIOException

    at weblogic.utils.compiler.CodeGenerator.generate(CodeGenerator.java:258)
    but, I know the problems is <%@ include file="xxx" %>, WL don't support <%@ include file="/xxx" %> in linux....I have many applications WAR, I cannot change them for a Linux version.... does not exist another alternative?
    Thanks a lot,
