Ova template for cucm

hi,
If I use the template for 2500 users, and my cluster with 9 cucm servers, with only 4 of them have callmanager service, does it mean that i can have 2500 x 4  = 10000 phones in my cluster?
I am wondering if we can deploy different capacity of cucm within a cluster, e.g. publisher and subscriber with call manager service deployed using 10000 users template, while those servers without callmanager service deployed using 2500 users template?
thanks.

Technically, if you build no redundancy.  Keep in mind that CUCM should be deployed either in 1:1 or 2:1 redundancy model which means for each call processing server there should be backup server or for 2 call processing servers there is 1 backup server. Also, the phone count is marketing term, 2500 phones would be supported if the server does nothing else which is never the case as you will have gateways, trunks, media resources, etc, etc so the count goes down fast. You can use the Cisco sizing tool described in SRND to size your cluster appropriately.
Technically you can use different OVA templates for different servers, but that is never recommended.

  • Update hadrware resources for CUCM in UCS

    Hello all,
    We have CUCM 8.6 running in UCS.
    The ova file used before installing CUCM 8.6 on UCS was for less number of resources ( 1xvCPU, 1x80GB, 4GB RAM ).
    I need to increase resources of VM, so instead of 1=vCPU & 1x80GB, 4GB RAM i want 2 vCPU and 2 x 80 GB, 6GBM RAM.
    If i increase the number of vCPU, RAM & HD from vSphere Client manually, what is the risk in CUCM database, will it effect or it will be safe ?
    Is there any way to upgrade the ova file in running VM instead of building new VM with new OVA file ?
    Kindly help.
    Regards,

    Hello bernhardczapp,
    We were upgrading CUCM 8.6 to 10.5 but unfortunately it failed with an error saying there is no disk space available, we opened case wtih cisco & we were advised to perform following tasks to free disk space:
    Clear the logs is from RTMT tool, download the old log/traces and delete them from the server with this process:
    1)      Login to RTMT
    2)      Go to Trace & log central
    3)      Select Collect File
    4)      Select All service checkbox and All server checkbox, click next.
    5)      Select a period of time. Select all the time frame for the logs that you do not need anymore, example from January until July. (Also there is a drop down so you can clear the ones from the inactive partition.)
    6)      Select the Delete file Checkbox.
    7)      Click finish
    We followed procedure & after 8 hours it made 6495 MB space free. Before was 36444MB & after process 29949MB.
    Reason i mentioned about new ova file for CUCM 10.5 is that while creating VM i will have option to select 7,500 users (this will give me 2x80GB, 2xvCPU, 1x6GB RAM)
    I will try installing your suggested cop files & will update you. Do i need to restart Servers after cop file installation ?
    But if you have alternate solution please share.
    Kind Regards

  • CCX 8.5 OVA template with 4x 146G HD

    Hi guys,
    I'm currently in the process of upgrading my client's CCX environment from 7.0(1)SR5 on existing MCS 7835 hardware to CCX 8.5(1) on UCS C-series 210-M2.
    The install guide for CCX 8.5 table 6 on page 16 showed that MCS 7845 with 4x 146G HD is supported.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_5/installation/guide/uccx851ig.pdf
    This is to support a maximum 20G HR DB so that the client can keep 3 yrs worth of historical records.
    However when I look in DocWiki to find the appropriate OVA template, unfortunately there isn't an equipvalent one that's available for it.
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified_Communications_Virtualization_Downloads_(including_OVA/OVF_Templates)#Cisco_Unified_Contact_Center_Express.2FCisco_Unified_IP_Intelligent_Voice_Response_.28IP_IVR.29
    All the vDisk on these OVA templates for CCX 8.5 are only for 2x 146G HD.
    Does anyone know where I can download the appropriate OVA template for CCX 8.5 with 4x 146G HD?
    Or is this a gap that Cisco is not aware of?
    Kind regards
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
    1. As part of this this upgrade UCCX 7.x to 8.5, the maximum historical  data that you can bring it to the new version is either 10GB or 51 weeks  of old data. The PUT tool will not allow you to take backup exceeding  10GB of historical data, it will prompt a message saying that you need  to purger the oldest data before proceeding with a successful backup.
    Please refer the below link for it.
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Database_size_is_not_supported_during_backup_using_PUT
    2. Also discussed with the UCCX development team on the requirement of having an OVA template with 146*4 but as of now its not there.
    What that means is you can have a max of 13GB of HR Database with the 146*2 GB HDD's in the currently existing OVA templates for UCCX.
    Hope it clarifies.
    Thanks,
    Anand Choudhari

  • IS CUC 8.6 OVA Template compatilbe for 10.5

    Hi,
    We have installed Cisco unity connection 8.6 on UCS with 8.6 OVA Template CUC_8.6.2_vmv8_v1.5.ova.
    Now am planning to upgrade to 10.5. Will this OVA Template suffice the 10.5 requirements.
    Has any one faced this issue...
    Any solutions. Pls suggest.

    Hi,
    The specs of both OVAs are same. When we deploy the same the CPU says 2.53 Ghz, once deployed and after the installations of CUC OS and if we see in VMware hardware or cli login we see 2.50 Ghz.
    So this .03 Ghz was cribbing me.
    Just ignored and went on for upgrade, no issues observed. CUC was upgraded to 10.5 without any issues.
    thanks.

  • Can not add intercom button to phone template in cucm 8.5

    For some reason I can not add the intercom button to phone template in cucm 8.5

    Hi Matthew,
    You may be seeing this (it's older info);
    Intercom Support for Cisco Unified IP Phones
    Cisco Unified IP Phone Model
    SCCP
    7931
    7941
    7941G-GE
    7942
    7945
    7961
    7961G-GE
    7962
    7965
    7970
    7971
    7975
    You can check your version;
    Intercom Support for Cisco Unified IP Phones
    The list of devices that support the Intercom feature varies per version and device pack.
    Use the Cisco Unified Reporting application to generate a complete list of devices that support the Intercom feature for a particular release and device pack. To do so, follow these steps:
    1. Start Cisco Unified Reporting by using any of the methods that follow.
    The system uses the Cisco Tomcat service to authenticate users before allowing access to the web application. You can access the application
    –by choosing Cisco Unified Reporting in the Navigation menu in Cisco Unified Communications Manager Administration and clicking Go.
    –by choosing File > Cisco Unified Reporting at the Cisco Unified Real Time Monitoring Tool (RTMT) menu.
    –by entering https://:8443/cucreports/ and then entering your authorized username and password.
    2. Click System Reports in the navigation bar.
    3. In the list of reports that displays in the left column, click the Unified CM Phone Feature List option.
    4. Click the Generate a new report link to generate a new report, or click the Unified CM Phone Feature List link if a report already exists.
    5. To generate a report of all devices that support Intercom, choose these settings from the respective drop-down list boxes and click the Submit button:
    Product: All
    Feature: Intercom
    The List Features pane displays a list of all devices that support the Intercom feature. You can click on the Up and Down arrows next to the column headers (Product or Protocol) to sort the list.
    Cheers!

  • CVP 8.5(1) .ova template

    All, we're implementing CVP 8.5 on UCS B series and trying to download the ova fiile. On the download website I'm only seeing 8.0(1) ova template. Can anyone please confirm if this also support CVP 8.5 since I also read the following statement:
    'Updated page to note that CVP 8.5(1) features the same level of support for virtualization that is available in CVP 8.0(1)"
    I really appreciate if someone can please clarify.
    Thanks.

    Yes, the same 8.0.1 OVA template will work for CVP 8.5 installation. The statement you read actually interprets to that only.

  • Dynamically set template for Print Quote report

    We need to customize "Print Quote" in Quoting
    As part of this we will be having 2 custom templates (will be related to data definition "Quote Printing", ASOPRT).
    These two templates have to be defaulted based on the quote status - one for status "Approved", and the other template for other non "Approved" statuses.
    How can this be achieved dynamically? (OAF CO customization / personilization)
    There doesn't seem to be any setup for assigning different templates based on status.
    Profile option "ASO: Default Layout Template" can be utilized to change the default template, but we need this template to be defaulted dynamically based on the Quote status.
    Thanks,

  • How to use one WAD template for all the available queries

    Hi,
    I have created a WAD template... Now we have close to 25 queries which will use that template for displaying their output at Portal...
    Is there any way that i don`t have to create multiple copies of my WAD template...
    I.e. all queries would call that same template through portal...

    Hi,
    The Bex report uses the Standard Template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN while it is executed.
    So if your sure that the look and feel of all the Reports is going to remain same, you don't need to even attach all these Queries to Templates in WAD.
    When you execute the BEx query, it would pick up the standard template and run it in portal.
    But if you want to customize the Report Template:
    1) You can change this standard template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN  and customize it according to ur requrement in WAD.
    2) Or you can create a copy of this standard template and change it as required. Then change the template in spro (transaction RSCUSTV27) to point to this Z template.
    Let me know if you need more details.

    I'm not a Cisco employee, so I can't do anything with your backup.!
    You need to take a backup as a precaution (You should have been doing this anyway) Then you need to call Cisco TAC to get the underlying problem fixed. CalManager is a locked-down environment, and only TAC can get the low-level access needed to fix database problems.

  • Oracle Sesame Adaptater - missing template for creation of a new SAIL repo.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to deploy the Sesame Adaptater on my TOMCAT server.
    At the point 8.9 of the doc ( http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18283_01/appdev.112/e11828/sem_sesame.htm#BABFFEFA) I'm suppose to type in the sesame console the following comand :
    "create oracle."
    I got this error :
    ERROR : No template called Oracle found in C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Aduna\OpenRDF Sesame Console\templates
    By reading the Sesame doc and according to this page (http://www.openrdf.org/doc/sesame2/users/ch07.html) I suppose that I have to add in the "C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Aduna\OpenRDF Sesame Console\templates" directory a file based on this template :
    # Sesame configuration template for a main-memory repository
    @prefix rdfs: <http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#>.
    @prefix rep: <http://www.openrdf.org/config/repository#>.
    @prefix sr: <http://www.openrdf.org/config/repository/sail#>.
    @prefix sail: <http://www.openrdf.org/config/sail#>.
    @prefix ms: <http://www.openrdf.org/config/sail/memory#>.
    [] a rep:Repository ;
    rep:repositoryID "{%Repository ID|memory%}" ;
    rdfs:label "{%Repository title|Memory store%}" ;
    rep:repositoryImpl [
    rep:repositoryType "openrdf:SailRepository" ;
    sr:sailImpl [
    sail:sailType "openrdf:MemoryStore" ;
    ms:persist {%Persist|true|false%} ;
    ms:syncDelay {%Sync delay|0%}
    Do anyone have the correct template ?
    I didn't find any other thread about this problem, so I supose it's an easy issue to solve, but the Semantic Technologies are totally new for me.
    Arthur

    I finally find the answer to my question. The template used in the tutorial is present in the sesame adapter.
    I just had to extract the files into the "sdordfsesame.jar", the template is locate in "sdordfsesame.jar/org/openrdf/console/oracle.ttl".
    After adding the "oracle.ttl" to the correct directory, it's work fine.

  • Reseting page number in Word RTF template for BI Publisher PDF generation

    Hi!
    Apex 4.0.2, Oracle 10.2.0.4, BIP 10.2
    Bills are created based on Word RTF file with BI Publisher. Reszulting file is one big PDF file, which has many pages.
    Word RTF template is grouped on BILLS.ID field with page break option. So one BILLS.ID may have one or many pages (according data).
    How to create RTF template (for PDF BI Publisher generation) with reseting page numbers when grouping value change.
    Page numbers are in footer in format
    curr_group_page/total_group_pages
    where:
    curr_group_page is current page number in group (defined with BILLS.ID field),
    total_group_pages is total page number of pages in group (defined with BILLS.ID field).
    I need to reset numbering whenever BILLS.ID (group) change.
    Example:
    ID=1 (4 pages)
    1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4
    ID=2 (1 pages)
    1/1
    ID=3 (2 pages)
    1/2, 2/2
    ID=4 (3 pages)
    1/3, 2/3, 3/3
    etc.
    How to achieve that kind of numbering?
    Any help appreciated.

    Simple question.. Does your posting deal with an APEX issue or a BI Publisher issue? The posting you have deals with the RTF add-on for Word that builds report layouts for BI Publisher. I suggested in my response that you move it to a more relevant forum..
    If you feel that me alerting you to the fact your are VIOLATING forum policy is an issue, please feel free to ask others their view.. (posting to a 3 year old closed thread, creating MULTIPLE threads for a single issue..) You do NOT seem to get the idea that posting this in the Bi Publisher support forum would probably get you a BETTER response than here.. Asking pl/sql questions here will also get people to refer your questions to the PL/Sql Support forum..
    Also, here is a POSSIBLE answer from the BI Publisher Forum: http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=594805
    This Is The APEX SUPPORT forum, we deal with SUPPORT questions on APEX (Application Express)..

    You know, I used to think that it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? • Creating Parameters in RTF Template for BI Publisher Report

    hi,
    I have created Parameters in my BI Publisher Report and in SQL query. But i need to create same parameters in RTF Template , so that when i publish this report in dashboard , parameters will be visible. Can you please tell me how to create Parameters in RTF Template for BI Publisher Report ? I am not finding option. Please let me know .
    Thanks in advance
    Gayathri.

    all the parameter's value will be there in your xml .
    just you need to add parameter heading and corresponding xml tag name to get the parameter value on the report.
    if u dont have you can try like below
    https://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/entry/get_your_parameters_here_guv
    Declare Parameter in RTF Template
    Before you use the parameter in the RTF template file you need to declare it first. You can do so by having the following syntax.
    <?param@begin:%parameter_name%?>
    Note: where %parameter_name% is the parameter name that you have created at the BI Publisher Server UI.
    Here is an example:
    <?param@begin:param1?>
    Use it in RTF Template!
    Once it’s declared in the RTF template you can start using it as the same way you use the variable. You need to just add ‘$’ prefix in front of the parameter name. Here is the example:
    <?$param1?>
    The above example would print the parameter value in the report output. If you want to use this value in your condition or calculation you can simply use it as ‘$param1’. Yes, it’s that simple.
    If you are not sure if and how the parameter values are passed to the report when you run the report you can use this command in your RTF template, which will return all the parameter values passed to the RTF template at the runtime.
    <?xdoxslt:getXDOProperties($_XDOCTX)?>

  • Fix Cheque position in RTF Templates for AP Payments R12

    Hi,
    I created rtf template for check printing. I have to print invoices details first and after that check at the bottom of the page. I need to print invoices on the cheque page only when total invoice count < = 3 which I am able to control. I am facing issue when for 3 invoices the table height is variable, depends on invoice description this table size is changing. How I can give the fixed-height for invoice table or how I can specify exact place for check (at the bottom of each page )
    Thanks
    Mital

    Hi Prakhar,
    Please note the cheque is not an image its in a table.
    Even if I fix a table using table positioning in the output it doesnot print at the fixed position which I have provided in my RTF.
    Please let me know if you would want to see the sample XML Data and RTF that I have created which can be easier to debug.
    Thanks for your help,
    Mital
