Over limit - help with options

I have a wedding dvd that is 4.59 GB so it's just a hair over the limit. I need it to be best quality for viewing - so the encoding is set right now at "Best Performance." I have menus at 780 MB (they have motion and audio - audion is only like 5 MB, motion I already reduced menu as a QT menu to play in background - it's only 21 MB, so that's not going to get me there by eliminating).
I don't think I want to change quality of encoding - or is there a setting that is less that won't change viewing quality on DVD?
Or, how many minutes do I need to cut? If I cut video, then how do I replace the video on iDVD. Everything is all set and customized, not a standard theme, so I don't want to redo. Would like to replace the movie for "Play movie" and will chapters all stay set pulling from the movie?

If DL is supported on your Burner then you should be ok provided iDvd can see the settings for DL as opposed to SL.
Burning to a DVD+R DL (Double Layer) disc
Newer SuperDrive optical drives in Macintosh computers can burn discs in DVD+R DL (Double Layer) format. Double-layer discs store almost twice as much content as single-layer discs, making them a great choice for large projects.
To see whether your computer’s SuperDrive can burn DVD+R DL discs, choose Project > Project Info. If you see 8.0 GB (Double Layer) in the DVD Type pop-up menu, you can use DVD+R DL discs for your project.
To burn a project to a DVD+R DL disc:
With the finished project open in iDVD, choose Project > Project Info and then choose Double Layer (DL) from the DVD Type pop-up menu.
Select the encoder setting you want to use. If you have more than 120 minutes of content, select High Quality.
Click the Burn button (shown below).
When prompted, insert a DVD+R DL disc into the drive.
You can use your internal SuperDrive or an external third-party drive.
If the disc isn’t blank, iDVD asks whether you want to erase the disc.
If your project is small enough to fit on a single-layer disc and you insert a double-layer disc, you see a dialog giving you the option to change the media type. You can cancel the burn and start again, or insert a single-layer disc and continue.
You should always burn double-layer discs directly from iDVD and not from a disc image. Double-layer discs burned from a disc image may cause playback issues in some DVD players, such as freezing during playback.
NOTE: After burning, to eject a disc from your computer’s internal disc drive, press the Media Eject key on your keyboard, if there is one. On keyboards with no Media Eject key, hold down the F12 key until the eject icon appears and your disc is ejected.

  • 3 users, AFP over WAN, help with permissions

    I have a xserve in one of my locations, there is a shared folder on the mirrored drives called "data". In that folder, there is folder called "User2' and another "User3"
    I want to share this folder over the WAN, I got the port forwarded already. I have 3 users, User1, User2, and User3.
    User1 will have full control over the entire folder, and subfolders (including User2, and User3's folder.
    User2 and User3 will ONLY have access to their folders over AFP. What should the permissions looks like in regards to this? Right now, the folders looks like this:
    Data Folder
    - User1 - allowed full control
    -User2 - deny full control
    -User3 - deny full control
    User2 Folder
    -User1 - allowed full control
    -User2 - allowed full control
    -User3 - Deny full control
    User3 Folder
    -User1 - allowed full control
    -User2 - deny full control
    -User3 - allow full control
    Yet, when I build a folder as User3 in their share, or User2 in their share, User1 cannot delete a folder. User1 should ALWAYS be able to use it.
    Insight?

    How is the NAS formatted?
    Although a fan of LaCie, I've never been happy with their NAS drives. It seems to me that the one I did try required software to be installed on the Mac in order for it to work properly.

    If you registered your iPhone with Apple using a support profile, try going to https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do and unregistering it.  Also, try changing the password associated with the Apple ID that you were using for iMessage.

    Problem - SFDC does not create cases from emails that have more than 10 MB of attachments. Our clients will not go-live if their clients cannot send in emails with attachments over 10 MBs
    Potential resolution - Configure MS exchange to strip off the attachments(if over 10 MB) and store it in a public folder, forward the email to Salesforce (so the case gets created or the email
    is associated to an existing case), the client should have some way to know if the attachments were stripped off and should be able to dlownload the attachments and continue with case resolution.

    From your description, you want to achieve the following goal:
    Configure Exchange to filter the attachments if the size is over 10 MB and store it in a public folder, and then forward the email to Salesforce.
    Based on my knowledge, I'm afraid that it can't be achieved. Exchange can filter messages with attachments, but it couldn't store these attachments on public folder automatically. Also, I don't see any transport rule can do it.

    I created a form with several drop-down fields / questions.  I would  like to create a box that pops up when the person who is filling out the  form hovers over the question/ field with his or her mouse.  The box  would contain additional information about the question that the person  might consider before they select the answer.  I don't want to clutter  the form (and not all form-filler-outers will want or need to see the  additional information) so I want it to pop up when the person hovers  over the question with their mouse.
    Can someone provide some help with how I can do this?

    To follow on from radzmar, here is a summary of the features that are available/restricted depending on how you deploy your form.
    There are two ways to apply Reader rights, one is using Acrobat Standard (v9) or Acrobat Professional (v8). The other is using an Adobe server product called LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2.
    You don't need script to apply the Reader rights to your form. Once you have applied the rights, users with Reader will be able to save the data in the form, however there may still be other restrictions in place, like attaching documents to the form or exporting XML data.

  • Need help with duplicate print jobs over network that I can't cancel

    I have the Photosmart Premium All-in-One on my home network.  My kids who each have laptop running Windows 7 and are connected via wireless to the printer via a DLINK DIR-655.
    They hit the print button too many times and it keeps printing over and over again.
    Is there a way to get the printer to stop printing these duplicates.  I tried turning off/on but they just keep printing.
    We're wasting paper/ink and I need help with a solution.

    There should be a button with a red 'X' on it on the front of the printer.  This is the print cancel button.

    I'm at my wits end: please help! It seems straight forward, and I sold my client on BC thinking this was doable in the events module, but it seems maybe not so without a ton of custom coding.
    1. Book an event online,
    with option for multiple (say 1-5 people at a fixed cost per person),
    and checkout using only Pay Pal (standard or pro, doesn't matter, but I think Standard won't work without shopping cart).
    2. The events are every day but Sunday all year long (just admission to an attraction), so is there a way to upload months in advance so they don't have to be manually entered?
    I'm so grateful for any assistance.

    You mean an image such as a scanned document?
    If that is the case, the file doesn't contain any text for Reader Out Loud to read. In order to fix that, you would need an application such as Adobe Acrobat that does Optical Character Recognition to convert the images to actual text.
    You can also try to export the file as a Word document or something else using ExportPDF which I believe offers OCR and is cheaper than Acrobat.

    Good Morning. I am in urgent need of some help with a specific final cut pro question. My coworker and I have been working on a video project for our employer, a university. He ran the editor (FCP) and I ran the logistics of setting things up, keeping the contacts and scheduling, etc.
    He has left until late August and there are two major typos in his work which is posted to the web at the moment. I need to correct these typos and have less than a faint idea of how to do it.
    First of all, what is the file's last three letters? (.doc, .mov, etc...)
    Second, can I edit this as easily as I think I can? Just click in the text file along the bottom timeline and edit that way?
    How do I export the movie as an mp4 file after i have edited it.
    Anything else that would be deemed helpful is always appreciated!

    You need to locate the Project file. Which will be somewhere in your colleague's User space.
    In the Finder, press command and F to activate the Find function.
    Make sure the following parameters are set:
    Search *This Mac* and Contents
    Kind is Documents
    Type the project name.
    The icon looks like this:
    Double click it to launch Final Cut Pro with the project.
    To locate the text overlay, click on the Timeline to make it active. Use the down arrow on your keyboard to jump from one cut to the next. The text overlay will look similar to this:
    Double click on the Text clip. This will place it in the Viewer (the left "monitor").
    Click the "Controls" tab above the Viewer and make your changes. Press Return.
    Clicking anywhere in the Timeline once more will update it.
    Make sure that no clips are selected and the Timeline is the active window.
    Go to the menu bar: File > Export > Using QuickTime Conversion.
    In the window that opens, make sure that Format is set to QuickTime Movie.
    Click the Options button. Look at the top of the next window.
    Does it say Compression Setting: H264? If it does, great.
    If not, click the settings button and choose H264 from the *Compression Type* button.
    At bottom left, drag the Quality slider to Best. Click OK.
    This brings you back to the previous window.
    Click on Size if you need to change something -there are a number of presets, but you can choose a custom size if you wish. Click OK.
    That window is dismissed and returns you to the Save dialog.
    Type a name and choose a destination for your file.
