Over-view discussions of working through the whole suite of programs?

One things these forums do is allow detailed discussions of say, how to do X task in Y software.
BUT ... the whole "suite" of video programs is designed for an over-arching process, and I can't find ANYWHERE that the main process is being discussed. Just the bits and pieces of how to use each separately, or perhaps get from one program to another's tool-set & back the easiest and quickest.
Where does one go to improve one's use of the suite as a suite? Going from Story to Prelude to PPro to Ae to PPro to Sg to PPro to Audition to PPro & off to AME?

I'm not sure what others are using but this is my workflow having worked with the CC suite for less than a year:
I don't really bother with Prelude as I find Premiere does everything and more, but theoretically I could log, marker, do some (horrible) speech recognition and transcribing before scooting rushes on to Premiere. Prelude occasionally comes in handy for batch transcribing rushes that need to be passed on to facilities without native NLE's. I personally think it's pretty redundant, but happy to be corrected.
So just import, log, edit in Premiere. Temp titles, effects and rough mix all done in Premiere.
Specific VFX shots are dynamic linked to AE for more intensive work. Graphics are all prepped in Illustrator and Photoshop prior to importing into AE as layered comps. The links are then just updated in Premiere - no rendering out (at least from AE - all links still need rendering in Premiere for RT playback).
Send audio clips to Audition that need work (ie. noise reduction, dynamics, leveling off). Save and update in Premiere. I render down my Premiere audio timeline for a final mix and normalise in Audition, but I'm sure there's a more efficient way of doing this.
I still find Speedgrade a little clunky and foreign, so I'll typically dynamic link shots off to AE that need intensive grading work. I'm familiar with the AE toolkit and find I can pull keys, window and track to my hearts content easily within it. (Still haven't found a grading package as user friendly and efficient as Resolve yet).
Final checks in Premiere of the finished pictures and mixed audio track before sending off to AME for encoding for delivery. If going to a DVD I'll run the encode through TMPGEnc instead of AME as I find it handles the detail significantly better. DVD builds are still done in DVD Studio Pro, 6 years old and going strong.
And there you go.. a typical job can round trip through 6 - 7 programs quite happily. And the thing I'm loving about the Adobe suite is I injest the shoot content and then render out the final delivery and that's basically it.. no data ballooning in post, no transcoding, no render versioning, no writing out to export, and all largely non-destructive. Compared to the previous FCP/AE workflow I estimate I'm saving about 2.5x the drive space I used to use by having to transcode to Prores first. Makes me happy, makes my tape backup library happy, makes my relaxed server drives happy.
Anyone have any workflow variations, tricks or time savers they'd like to share?

I don't know if you've already resolved your problem, but I had the same thing, it took me 6 hours to fix it. I had the exact same as you, installed the update and then it went to a white screen. After trying start up holding down cmmd r or holding down the alt key to try to install it again, nothing worked, same result every time. Then an angel came to me here somewhere but I can't find it now to thank him. Start in safe mode, press shift once you hear the start up chime and hold it down until you hear it again. Installation completion box came up and it was working. turn off computer and start up again normally and all is well. Except my final cut pro x doesn't work with it, have to update that now too. same as when I updated to mavericks.

It says it needs to be connected to itunes and restored. when i do that, it goes through the whole process then comes up with "iphone could not be restored. unknown error code (-1)". Please help

My brother gave me his old iphone when the touch screen went out on mine. It's in great shape but when I received it, it says that it needs to be connected to itunes to be restored. There is not a -1 code on the list and I have tried most of the suggestions.

mono 8 bit 8k is 64kbps, yes. 8 bits times 8,000 = 64,000 = 64k bits/sec.
And yes I think that's a typo - there's no such thing as 'Mone' that I've ever heard of...
But you might want to check to find out if this is a mu-law non-linear format, possibly - there are several ways that 8 bit 8k wav files can be encoded, and typically phone systems don't use linear ones. If you have a log-in to Zultys' user-base system they have an FAQ there, I believe - the answer might be in that, and it won't cost $500.

JS CS4 & CS5 working through the ScriptListener

Working through the guide there is an example:

There is 2 possible places to save this file in windows:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Presets\Scripts
or
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Presets\Scripts\Event Scripts Only
I've tried both and when I open a file in Photoshop I do not get the alert.
If I go into the Script Event Manager and set the above code to run on Open Document event it works.
Is there a way to get this example to work without setting it up in the Script Event Mananger?

My experence is that you only need to set app.notifiers.enabled to true if it is not already set. It can be set to true by a script or the Scripts Events Manager.
If you register an event using app.notifiers.add in ESTK the event does not run the script unless Photoshop is restarted. If it is added as part of a script run in Photoshop or the Script Events Manager it runs without restart.
As X pointed out the scirpt can be anywhere, it doesn't have to be in one of those two locations. But for me events registered with the API remain registered from session to session untill removed.
Here is a save way to register an event. Note that it only sets app.notifiers.enabled to true if it is false and registers the open event only if there is not already one.

You can restore your iPad with your iPhone backup but items that are iPhone only will not transfer. It should recreate all your folders. It can't hurt anything to try.

1. Go to: Tools > Options > Advanced > General

What do you mean three email addresses ago? Do you mean that you've had three accounts in the store with three separate email addresses? Purchases must be authorized according the account details under which they were purchased. You can Get Info on the tracks and see the account name they were purchased with. Printer rips through the whole document before it starts to print

Thank you everyone for the answers to my previous post. Another Postscript problem which we are now trying to solve,
is the following printer behaviour: getting our postscript datastream, printer first goes through the whole document,
ripping every page (or so it seems) and only then it starts printing the first page and further. Our datastreams are usually
large, tens thousandth of pages, so it takes very long before a printer starts to print. What could cause such a behaviour?
Something at the end of the file, which interpreter needs to take into account? Some special settings at prologue?

What you describe is not normal behaviour for PostScript implementations and is not something that is a feature of the PostScript language. The interpreter does not attempt to process the entire job prior to passing any of the rendered pages off to be imaged.
You give no idea as to what type or brand of PostScript printer is exhibiting this behaviour, but the behaviour is likely type and/or model and/or vendor-specific. Contact the technical support group for your printer or RIP vendor for specific answers to this question.

I'm having a problem with my Encore and Premier Pro software. I have the Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio Premium CS5.1. Encore will not allow me to burn DVDS. I'm getting an 52102 error...won't allow it to finish writing...ALSO Premier Pro stops after capturing about 5 or 10 minutes of video and freezes...do I need to re-install my software??? and if I do... do I need to install the WHOLE suite or can I just install just Encore and Premier Pro????? I can burn and image file and it burns DVDs on my old Corel software so I know its not the burner or the DVDs I'm using..I am in the middle of a big project for kids at school really need to figure this out...not getting anywhere online. Can anyone help??? Has anyone had this problem? Hope I'm posting this to right place. THANKS!

I haven't had 52102 error, but seen it discussed. Here are a couple of links

Burning the iso file to the dvd may not be the same process as burning directly from Encore to dvd, and so may not exhibit the same error, if any. See response 1 in the first link.

You also mention that you are able to locate the serial number for Photoshop. Did that come as a part of the suite or did you purchase Photoshop as a standalone application?
