Overall Network Scheduling (CN24N)

Hi Experts,
In ECC 6.0 ,while executing CN24N for a project with subnetworks,  I am getting the error 'No Order Corresponds to Selection Criteria'.
I have done the following configuration :
1. Defined the Level for the networks ( mentioned as '2' and allowed he subnetwork scheduling).
2. Implemented the BADI for the Overall Network Scheduling with the default code.
And I have authorisation to do scheduling for the project but still I am gettting error message mentioned above.
Can you help me with this issue.
Thanks in advance....
K Ramaiah

HI
You may have set up the following pre-requisites:
In Customizing for the Project System, you have created network types and parameters (see Maintain Network Types, Specify Parameters for Network Scheduling and Define Parameters for Subnetworks).
When you create subnetwork structures in projects, make sure the actual level definitions correspond to the entries in this table. The system does not check if the combination of level and network parameter in this activity matches the combination in the actual subnetwork structure.
Example
For level 1, you enter network type PS02 and order 4000000 to 4999999.
If you enter level 1 as the selection condition in overall network scheduling, the system selects all networks with network type PS02, whose number lies within this range, and assigns them to level 1.
Hope the above helps.

  • What is overall networking schedule

    Hi guys,
what is the field overall networking schedule we can find this in VA01....>EDIT....>Overall Networking Schedule

    HI
IT IS USED FOR SCHEDULING THE ASSEMBLING PRODUCTS
A MATERIAL COMPONENT PRODUCED OR ASSEMBLED IN A NETWORK ACTIVITY AND IS USED AGAIN FOR EXAMPLE FOR A DELIVERY
In a complex project, different networks can exist for substructures. The dependencies in a project can make the activities in one network dependent on the completion of activities in another network. You can use the function for scheduling the entire network to take these dependencies into account during the calculation of dates.
In overall network scheduling, the system then schedules all networks that are linked with relationships.
    Procedure
In the SAP Easy Access menu choose Logistics ® Project System ® Dates ® Overall network scheduling.
Enter the network that is to be scheduled.
Select the set of dates by choosing Basic dates or Forecast.
Enter the necessary start or finish date.
    Choose Execute.
On the initial screen for overall network scheduling you can determine the scheduling type (backwards/forwards) and whether service/maintenance orders are taken into account.
In the info line, you receive a message that scheduling has been successfully carried out and that there is a log. With this log you receive information, warning or error messages.

  • Network scheduling,Network error

    Dear SAP PS Experts,
Can any one explain step by step of network scheduling.
User has been created number of networks,in one project, now its all networks are released,is there any solution to me to make single network.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
Network scheduling is the process of calculating the dates when the activities assigned to networks should be performed. If the user has created several network activities, it is still possible to schedule them and plan dates for project separately. If for some reason only one network should be used, then if network status allows that, you may still delete the networks that are not needed and create all activities under one network header.
You may read more on scheduling in sections PS -> Dates, under the following link

  • Native Vlan Effect on the Overall Network Performance

    Dear Experts,
I would like to know that did Native Vlan affect the overall Network performance and make the whole network slow and can be cause for all Network devices to be failure or disconnect. I am facing this issue for the network that after apply Vlan dot1q tag native" in global Config the user disconnect from the network and also the devices.
Kindly assist on this issue with the practical scenario and result oriented conclusion.
Further I have following Devices in the Network Catalyst 4500, Nexus 5548, FIC 6248, UCS 5018 and Catalyst 3750.
The issue is this the VLAN 50 which is for UCS is not able to access from the LAN network even we added the VLAN 50 on all the Switches and it propogated to whole network so we  make Vlan 50 as Native and added "switchport trunk native vlan 50 on trunks ports from Nexux 5548 to Fabric Interconnect and to Core Switch 4500. After added vlan 50 as native vlan we can access the UCS from LAN.
But after adding native vlan 50 on all trunks the Network Administrator complaining that network is slow and few servers are disconnecting.
here for the information that server vlan is 1.
    Waiting for the answer.
    Thanks,
    JH
    Thanks,
    JH

    Hello.
    1. Could you please draw interconnectivity diagram of all the devices?
    2. Could you chose any LAN device (on the same switch as UCS) and post here running config of the device that interconnects them?

  • Network Scheduling type

    Hi
I have maintained network scheduling tpye as backwards in OPU6 and also maintained as "backwards" in control parameters for WBS scheduling. This is meant for both template project and operative project/network profiles.
I have created a template project with WBS heirarchy along with network activity scheduling types set as backwards.
Now while "including" the template project in an operative project, the system copies all the WBS elements and network activities from template project. However, the network schedulihng type is coming as FORWARDS, instead of "backwards".
Can anyone suggest what could be the problem here??
    Best Regards
    Srikrishna

    Hi,
    your cust. is correct.
activating check box for template profile data while copying the project hopes will resolve the issue.
if the check box is active it copies the data from profile or else it copies data from the project which you copy.

  • Actual dates should not impact the Network scheduled dates

    Hi
I have planned schdeuled dates (Early/latest).
When i am confirming the activity the actual dates get updated
When i schedule the network the scheduled planned dates are recalulated
This should not happen for this client i am working for
The requirement is that the Planned Scheduled should remain fixed and
should only change if duration, relationship etc changes.
I have tried different option to solve this but still no clue
    Adjust basic date 1, 2, 3 option
    Shift Order
No date Update - this seems to work but not visible in CN22/CN25/CJ20n
Kindly highlight if any of you have come with similar requirement & provided solution to it
Either thru standard functionality, configuration or any development
    Cheers

    Hi Manoj,
I had the same requirement and able to achieve it by std. settings. Keep in mind that the planned dates wil get changed when you do the final confirmation. You should have the control on the planned dates until the activity get Fianlly confirmed.

  • Restrictions on APO Network scheduling?

    Hi,
We are in the process of researching the restrictions of using APO to perform detailed scheduling on network orders.  The last document I found (SAP note 708517 way back from 2005) listed the following restrictions present in SCM 4.1  - I need to know if these still exist in more recent versions, like 7.0:
-No transfer of relationships across networks. Relationships across
networks are also used for Subnetworks. So subnetworks will be
treated as independent APO project orders.
-No transfer of activity elements from R/3 to APO
o No transfer of relationships across networks. Relationships
-R/3 activity constraints (e.g. 'must start before') are not taken
    into account
-Manual requirement dates will not be fixed in APO, but will be
transferred as offset times between activities and manual component
    requirement date to APO.
Thank you very much for your help,
    Andrew

Scott has a lot of important things to consider listed. I agree with him that you must make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. My thoughts to add are:
    1. I would highly recommend some sort of bandwidth limiting. Unless you have an unlimited pipe to the Internet, someone will try to run bittorrent and chew up your bandwidth.
    2. I would definitely disallow peer-to-peer communications on your wireless to avoid security issues Scott mentioned. (if you use wireless for VoIP, this will be a problem. you cannot currently disable peer-to-peer on a per SSID basis).
    3. You need to have a good disclaimer page. If you have a lawyer, I would put the task to them to see what you have to include to protect yourself. If you are using LWAPP APs, you can use the built-in capabilities to present a splash page with your terms and an accept button. You can do this without having to do user authentication.
    4. I agree with Scott about not claiming to filter, but if there are any schools nearby, or even kids living nearby, you may be at risk if you do not filter. My customers go different ways on this one. Some filter and say they filter. Some do not say they filter, but do anyways. Some leave it wide open. This is a liability question you need to work out with someone who knows more about the law than I do.
    5. You absolutely should restrict available ports. I have set up public hotspots for many public sector organizations, particularly schools. We always restrict ports, usually just to http, https, and DNS, and sometimes VPN. Do not allow SMTP unless you want to be blacklisted. Spammers are starting to use open WiFi networks more and more to send untraceable spam.
    6. As Scott mentioned, make sure your ISP is ok with it. If you have business service, it should not be a problem. If you are using residential DSL or Cable modem, they almost all forbid sharing your connection.

  • Windows 7 file copy and overall network performance

I have noticed some major problems with network performance when trying to access files stored on our NSS based file servers when using Windows 7 Pro.
Our file servers are OES2 SP1 and SLES 10 SP3. I did not have this type of problem when I was on Windows XP. I am currently using the Novell Client 2 SP1 on Windows 7. I did have the BSOD referring to the nccache.sys file. I read a TID that said to turn off file caching, but since doing that it is painfully slow.
Any help in advance will be greatly appreciated. If I should post this elsewhere please let me know as well. Thanks again.

    I sure hope that's incorrect, as OES2SP1 runs on SLES10 SP2, not 3.
Also, you should really be running OES2 SP2 at aleast (SP3 just having
    been released).

Caching doesn't have any noticeable or even measurable performance
impact on more copying of files, as caching doesn't come into play here.
It can only have an effect on repeated activity on the same file, which
    fily copying by design isn't.

This would probably be better suited for the client forums, but you need
to post more information. Being "Painfully slow" isn't a technically
    precise nor helpful description.

You are correct with our Server installations. Sorry for the mistype.
As far as my client goes. I will try the IR5 client version to see if that is any better.
As far as being "Painfully slow" i mean it was taking hours to install a product from a .ISO hosted on one of our NSS mapped drives. It would take 15 minutes to copy a 3MB file wile the .ISO was installing. It took even longer to try to copy the file down. I had no problems with any of the forementioned when running on Windows XP SP3 with client 4.91 SP5. What other details do you need?

  • Scheduling with Forecast Dates

    Dear Experts,
I want to know whether following is possible.
When creating a project initial schedule dates based on Activity Duration and Activity Relationships should reflect as Basic Dates. After project creation, when ever the Project Manager reschedule the project, those reschedule dates should be reflect as Forecasted dates.
By doing this the Project Manager will be able to identify Initial Plan as Basic Dates, Reschedule Plan as Forecasted Dates and Actual as Actual Dates.
    Very Much Appreciate your Support,
    Dileepa.

    Dear All,
I did reschedule Forecasting Dates using CN24 (Overall Network Scheduling) transaction. But after doing this, overall Project and WBS Elements dates does not changes based on the reschedule Network Time lines.
Further I have define "Network determines dates" as the Scheduling method in WBS Schedule Profile.
    Very much appreciate your guidance,
    Dileepa.

  • Interested in PLM

    Hi All,
I am BW consultant.Interested in PLM .Could you please tell about PLM and if I want learn PLM what shall i do? This module comes under functional or technical?
    Thanks,
    Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
There are different tracktion for PLM in SAP
    1. <b>Product Data Management</b>
which covers Material Management, Bill of Material, Document Managment System, Classification System, Variant Configurations, CAD Interfaces. etc.
Most of the Industries will be using these cross application components for their Engineering Departments.
    2. <b>Program Management</b>
Where Entire Program is capture i.e. From Customer Enquirry to the Order execution and till Dispatch.
Here again Project System, CFolder, CProjects, DMS, MM, BOM, Workflow etc can be a part of the PLM
    3. <b>Asset LifeCylce Management</b>
This is used in different Scenarios where companies wants to trace there assets
    or lifecycle of their assets.
Project Systems and DMS will be mostly involved.
    4.<b> Quality Managment</b>
Strictly Speaking PLM Products are used in R& D Department, Engineering Department, Design & Drafting Departments of the Companies/organizations,
Where they try to modify their existing Products, try to Design as per the customer requirements, Try to launch new Product by doing R & D works.
PLM is Mostly used in these Departments of the Organizations

  • SAP PLM

    Hi Guys
I am have working on PDM(Team center), VPM(Enovia DPM) and Catia V5 since 2 years now and I am planning to change to SAP PLM. Can any one help me Do i need to Have knowledge in any other things other then PDM, VPM to start up with SAP PLM.
If I want to take p my certification in SAP PLM where can i get it,( Do i need to contact Siemens for it or i can try with some other place)
    Your help will be Appreciated
    Pradeep

    Hi Pradeep,
1.As you have worked in PDM (Team Center), and other CAD packages, you will be knowing the Functional processes/activities involved in the PLM which is very much required to learn and give solutions in SAP PLM.
    2. As you must have worked with BOM, Documents, workflows, Organizational hierarchies, Roles & Responsibilities (Draftsmen, Junior/Assist Design Engineer, Design Engineer, Project Manager etc  etc) and their authorizations.
    3. So with these things it is very easy to learn & work with SAP PLM, if you are currently working in non-sap or any functional domain, you can join any SAP implementation company as a Trainee or Fresher and get trained on SAP
or there are many training institutes which train SAP even for 25-30K without certification. (You will get a fare idea about what SAP is )
Even SAP PLM starts with PDM Objects like, Material Master, Document Managment System, Engineering Change Managment (Versioning/Revisioning for BOM, MM, DIR), Bill of Materials, Classification System (Classes, Characteristics, Object Dependencies etc) all this are PDM Objects in SAP.
And there is Collaboration Projects, Collabortion Folders and CAD Integrations. etc these all together constitutes a SAP PLM
