Overlapping Objects

All,
I am working on code which differentiates bright objects in a camera's field of view.  Programming in LabVIEW, I have so far been able to detect and enumerate separate objects using LabVIEW's built in function.  My next challenge will be to differentiate between overlapping bright objects., objects which will cause contiguous bright pixels with no dark areas in between the objects.
I can identify static points which will always show one specific object, and I can always take my light intensity measurement points at these static points.  Is there a way that I can programatically have LabVIEW divide a group of contiguous bright pixels into two or more separate objects?  Or will LabVIEW's built-in functions always identify a group of contiguous bright pixels as one object?
If I cannot program LabVIEW to split contiguous bright pixels into multiple objects, I can figure out another way to code the functionality I want.  But if there is a way to have LabVIEW return an object array that already has differentiated the objects as I want, it would make my life a bit easier.
Thanks in advance.

I was playing around with Skeleton, and I don't think it will work for me, but I could be wrong.
I am attaching an image that approximates what my cameras will be seeing.  What it shows is four equally-sized mirrors tilting up from the ground.
Any thoughts as to how I could get LabVIEW to differentiate these into four different objects?
Thanks.

  • Need to control rendering resolution when removing overlapping objects in Acrobat X Pro

    When removing hidden information from a PDF using the Acrobat X Pro function Tools | Protection | Remove Hidden Information or Tools | Protection | Sanitize Document, Acrobat appears to remove overlapping objects by rendering the entire page into an image at, from what I can tell, 144 dpi. This resolution is too low for my purposes as small text becomes hard to read both on screen and when printed. Is there a way to control the rendering resolution?

    What I was refering to by flattening is the "flatten image" function in Photoshop. As in the option directly below merge visable and merge down in the layers flyout menu. For some reason running that function or the rasterize function in the object menu in illustrator is the only way I can make sure transparecny boxs dont show up when I print through my Fiery Rip software. Like I mentioned this method works well with individual pages in multiple page pdfs, but I often have to do this for many images at a time. It would be nice to be able to do the same thing in Acrobat to the whole pdf all  at one time.( Of course what would really be nice would be if people would submitt their files correctly to avoid this problem in the first place but that is asking way to much)

  • Series Primary Overlaps object AR Credit Note

    Hi Experts,
    My customer is set up with a numbering series with Primary and extra numbering series for AR Credits and AR Invoices.
    The Primary Series is set to:
    First No: 1
    Next No 4999
    Last No 4999
    The AR Credit Series is set to:
    First No: 5000
    Next No: 5055
    Last No: none
    Other documents, such as Incoming Payments and GRPO are set to use the Primary series but no more documents can be added as it has reached the last number.
    We cannot extend the Last Number as we get the error: Series Primary Overlaps Object AR Credit Note.
    Is there a way round this?  One idea I have is to set up a new Series for the 'other' documents.
    Thanks
    Greig

    To really fix this you will need to terminate the Credit Memo numbering and rethink your over all numbering consumption and then plan the spacing between series and create new series based on this.
    Just Curious
    In the System Init. > Company Details > Basic Init.. tab
    Is Permit more than one document type series checked ?
    You are correct - this explains the strange workings of the numbering.  I think we need to implement one series per document type to get around this issue.
    I believe this set up is designed for Belgium.

  • Series Overlap Object error

    We are facing this error while trying to upload cash entries using DTW, we are just running TEST in DTW.
    There is not even a single transaction in the company database for any document.
    1)     DTW error - "To generate this document first define the numbering series in Administration module."
           The DTW test upload is successful for KEY value from 1 to 6000, for KEY > 6000 this error message is seen.
    2)     Numbering series - We have defined 2 numbering series for outgoing payment,
                                         i) for bank payment 1 to 5000
                                         ii) for cash payemnt 5001 to 10000
    3)     Series Overlaps Object Error  - Error message is displayed in status bar, If we try to update the numbering series range for cash payment. (there is no transaction for this document in database)
    Please guide.

    Hi,
    Based on your posting: There is not even a single transaction in the company database for any document.
    In your case, what do you try to verify?  Because the cash entry upload may not be easily to perform as the first batch of thansaction.  Are you just trying to DTW Journal Entry for cash?
    You have to define document series first before DTW.  It sounds like you have already defined some series but may not be right and may not be complete.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Overlapping objects in hidden information and OCR

    when i use text recognition, i can search for words. This works great. I also need to remove all hidden information, which removes 'overlapping objects', which disables the text recognition. is there a way to have zero hidden information in acrobat and at the same time have OCR?

    Nathan, there are a couple of techniques you can use to make this kind of work easier. First off, you can assign a build animation to an object and then move it do a different place on the slide and the animation will still work. So, in your case, you could create the replacement objects, apply the build in you want, apply the build out to the original objects, and only then slide the replacements on top of the originals (using the guide lines to line up exactly).
    Alternatively, you can use the Send Backward and Send Forward menu items to manipulate the objects. If you have two sets of objects (grouped together), one original and one to be the replacement, you can move the original in front of the replacement, apply your build out, then send the original backward, and the replacement set should now be on top (presuming these are the only two groups on the slide). You can even put icons for Backward and Forward into the toolbar of the Keynote window for easy access (in the View menu, select Customize Toolbar).
    I hope these tips help.

  • Removing hidden sections of several overlapping objects

    Hi
    I'm looking for any options that could help with removing the hidden sections over numerous overlapping objects. I have plenty of objects that lay over each other in this design, and now my client is thinking about getting it screen printed. Is there a shortcut for this that would save me a mass amount of time? (other than using Pathfinder on each and every one?)
    Thanks!
    Eric

    There is nothing wrong with objects that overlap. The bits that don’t show won’t print unless something is set to overprint.
    Just check your artwork with Overprint Preview turned on.
    If everything is as it should be then you’re o.k. for print. No need to do any drastic editing.
    Silkscreen has nothing to do with it except possibly that you might want to use spot colours instead of CMYK. You should check with your printer on that one.

  • Overlapping Objects-separate out shapes?

    Is there a way to separate overlapping objects into separate shapes and still maintain the overlapping result? Meaning two objects that overlap with a "mode" and slight "transparency" added to the overlapping (in front) object that results in a tone of sorts, as the intersecting shape? I hope I was somewhat clear as to what I am trying to achieve.
    An example is this logo that does something similar to what I'm trying to do. After layering all these objects over each other with different modes/transparency's separate each color as a shape but keep the overlapped color.
    Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
    ~Erick

    Of-course... divide. I need another brain tonic. LOL!
    The only thing I noticed is although it divides, it keeps the transparency mode for each shape created. Too bad there wasn't an option to eliminate the transparency and recolor instead of having to manually recolor. I know it sounds lazy but it sounds like a logical option to include.

  • Series Overlaps Object

    Hi All,
    I have a problem with the numbering series. We have defined a new series for landed costs as LC0910.
    LC0910
    first no. 1
    next no. 1
    last no. 4999
    ealrier it was primary with first and next no as 1 and last number as null. Now when i try to define a default series for any other doc such as Outgoing payment. An error message stating "SERIES LC0910 OVERLAPS OBJECT" is displayed.
    I tried changing the last no.s and for the series but of no use. whenever i make the change and update it displays the same error. It doesnt allow me to update the changes.
    Can anyone help me with this issue or tell me a way to delete the series?
    Thanks,
    Hari Dharen

    Thanks Bala. I did check. It is linked to the current period indicator 09-10.
    Because of this issue I am not able to define a default series for the Outgoing payment resulting in which i am not able to post any docs for the payment. It says "define numbering series in administration module." when i try to open the outgoing payment.
    Is there Any alternative to post the outgoing payment until this issue is resolved? As this is critical any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Series Primary overlaps object Service Call

    hI SAP gurus,
    i am trying to create new series in Document Numbering for  'Service Call' , it doesn't allow me to create Series Numbering and following Error is showing ...
    Series Primary overlaps object Service Call
    Does any one know how should i create a new Series for Service Call..?
    i appreciate your help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    kaviprashu

    hi,
    ok i will quote this for you
    Symptom
    It is a legal requirement in Brazil that service calls are numbered.
    Solution
    To facilitate the legal requirement that users can trace and manage service calls efficiently, it is now possible to assign service calls to sequential series numbering. All marketing document numbering rules (search, overlapping numbers, manual series, and etc.) are also applied on service calls. The following fields and objects are added:
    In the Document Numbering - Setup window, the service calls object is added.
    To access the Document Numbering - Setup window, choose Administration -> System Initialization -> Document Numbering.
    In the Series - Service Calls - Setup window, the 'Primary' series is added.
    For new and upgraded companies, the application automatically creates the 'Primary' series for service calls.
    In the Numbering Series - Setup window, the 'Primary' series is added.
    In the Service Call window, the No. fields (selection of series and number) are added.
    To access the Service Call window, choose Service -> Service Call.
    In the Relate Series to Document - Setup window, the service calls object is added.
    For the service reports (Service Calls, Service Calls by Queue, Response Time by Assigned to, Average Closure Time, Service Monitor, My Service Calls, My Open Service Calls and My overdue Service Calls, Service Contract document - subtab Service Calls and Customer Equipment Card - subtab Service Calls):
    Call No. (label text) is changed to Call ID.
    The Document No. field represents the new call no. field.
    Series column is added to service reports.
    The Check Document Numbering - Selection Criteria window also includes checking of the service calls sequence.
    To access the Check Document Numbering - Selection Criteria window, choose Administration -> Utilities -> Check Document Numbering.
    For new created service calls, no record will be written to History Change Log when you add service calls (the same as the system behavior in the marketing documents).
    Only after the actual update on an already added service call, a history record will be added.
    There is no change in the already existing Call ID field, the behavior of this field stays the same.

  • How to I get rid of the small gap between overlapping objects

    Hi
    I can't seem to get rid of a small gap/line between 2 objects I've used the shape builder tool on.
    I do as follows:
    1. I have 2 objects overlapping
    2. I remove the red sektion, so I'm left with a pink circle and a red obejct inside, using the Shape Builder tool
    3. If I place an object below the 2 objects, in the same color as the red object, I get a small line between the 2 red colors. It almost seems like the pink circle and the small red object is not aligned, but they are.
    I've tried to turn off Anti aliasing and align to Pixel grid, but nothing seems to work.
    Is there no way to have 2 objects on top of each other, without having the bottom one making a small line/gap?
    Hope you can help me.
    Thanks in advance!

    Although I've seen a result like that before, I can't seem to reproduce it here now. It's one of the reasons I never use the Shape Builder tool to do anything that can be done without it.
    Is there no way to have 2 objects on top of each other, without having the bottom one making a small line/gap?
    There is, of course. There is also always more than one way to do something. It might be better if you cut the dark ellipse out of the light one completely using the more mechanical Pathfinder > Minus Front feature rather than inducing an "interpretation" with the Shape Builder.

  • Mouse Over listener on several overlapping Objects.

    Hello guys,
    I have the following Situation... I want to place on stage different Objects:Sprite with some partial overlap...
    I have added eventListeners to the Objects but it only calls the handler function of the object at the top.
    Is there a way to call the handler function on multiple objects on the same time?
    thanks!
    Gustavo

    well.. see for yourself. i pasted here my code. it is very basic and simple. everything in red (inside the function) is simply an animation copied as as3 code... thus i dont think that causes the problem..
    btn1.buttonMode = true;
    btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, animate1);
    var btn1_animator:Animator;
    function animate1 (event:MouseEvent):void {
    var btn1_xml:XML = <Motion duration="7" xmlns="fl.motion.*" xmlns:geom="flash.geom.*" xmlns:filters="flash.filters.*">
        <source>
            <Source frameRate="24" x="106.25" y="93.25" scaleX="1" scaleY="1" rotation="0" elementType="movie clip" instanceName="btn1" symbolName="btn_container2">
                <dimensions>
                    <geom:Rectangle left="-35" top="-17.15" width="70" height="34.3"/>
                </dimensions>
                <transformationPoint>
                    <geom:Point x="0.5" y="0.5"/>
                </transformationPoint>
            </Source>
        </source>
        <Keyframe index="0" tweenSnap="true" tweenSync="true">
            <color>
                <Color tintColor="0xFFCC00" tintMultiplier="1"/>
            </color>
            <tweens>
                <SimpleEase ease="-0.4"/>
            </tweens>
        </Keyframe>
        <Keyframe index="13">
            <color>
                <Color/>
            </color>
        </Keyframe>
    </Motion>;
    btn1_animator = new Animator(btn1_xml, btn1);
    btn1_animator.play();
    thank you so much, by the way, its the second time in a row you are assisting me with tiny problems

  • Applying live paint to extruded and beveled overlapping objects

    I have a celtic design that has sections I want to overlap, but I have extruded and beveled it to make it look more realistically metallic.  I tried expanding its appearance before making live paint, but "live paint make" option remains faded out on the menu... what can I do to live paint this object without losing the 3d look of it?  If I outline the strokes first, and then make live paint... it loses all its extrusion and beveling.  HELP!

    oooh  I figured out a way... it's a bit tedious, but it works!!!
    I ungrouped, and put copies of two of the components I want to overlap on a new layer, in place...
    then I make a clipping mask of the current overlapped areas...
    this clipped mask then sits on top of the underlying section that was not layered right and now brings the bottom object to the top!
    I now have to do this with every overlap where I want to bring the bottom object to the top... but it's worth it for the awesome effect!
    Hope this helps someone else out!

  • Reversed colour on overlapping objects?

    Hi, I have some black text that partially overlaps with a black object - I was wondering how you get that portion of the text to reverse-out (into white) precisely with the overlap areas? ..ie: allowing for the text to read continuously (just changes when it hits overlap areas).
    Thank you,
    Chemol

    1. Rectangle Tool: Draw a rectangle. Give it a black fill.
    2. Text Tool: Type some text. Black fill.
    3. Position the text so that it only partially overlaps the rectangle.
    4. Select both objects.
    5. If on Windows, press and hold Alt. In the Pathfinder palette, click the Exclude Overlapping Shape Areas icon.

  • At runtime, can it be determined if multiple overlapping objects/layers exist beneath a mouse click?

    Hi folks - total nube here. I am trying to find out whether I can determine if multiple objects exist beneath a usr's mouse click coordinates. The objects will be either shaded areas under a LineSeries in a chart or possibly overlayed images representing such areas (not sure which approach would be better). I know that I can probably determine alebraically whether the coordinates selected b a mouse click belong under one series or another or multiple and if this is the best option, then I will proceed with it. But possibly, there is a way for me to determine whether a shaded area under a series or a grpahical element exists under those coordinates. Any hints? Thanks in advance.

    Yes, export it for your reference first. make it delete and create new one.
    hope it should work fine.
    thx
