'Overlapping' parameters in R/3 routings passed to APO PDSs

I am using APO V7.O connected to R/3 4.7.
In R/3 I have a routing in which I have specified 'required overlapping' and 'min overlap = 0' so that effectively I have parallel operations.
But this overlapping information does not seem to get passed to the APO PDS, where the operations are scheduled in series.
Is this the expected behaviour?
Thanks for any help on this...

Hi GroupAPO,
I think to have parallel operations you should have overlap greater than zero.
Which PDS you are talking about? SNP or PPDS. As parallel operations are not supported in SNP. Read SAP note 1079959.

Vaibhav

  • Import and export parameters of an FM are passed by value---why?

    Q]      By default the import and export parameters of an FM are passed by value---what is  the advantage of this system?

    Hi,
    Import and export parameters are, by default, passed by value. However, they can also be passed by reference. Tables parameters can only be passed by reference.
    Pass by reference means, passing the address itself rather than passing the value.
    I guess passing by value is easier and advantageous

  • Base quantities in ECC routings and BOMs for APO PDSs

    I'm trying to clarify the basic rules for how base quantities in BOMs and routing operations should be set for use in CIF to generate APO PDS.
    - which base quantity appears in the APO PDS; is it the BOM base qty?
    - do the BOM base quantitis and routing operation base quantities have to be the same?
    Thanks for any information on this...

    Hello,
    The unit of measure for operations in SAP ERP can deviate from the base unit of measure. You have to maintain a conversion factor in this case. During the transfer to SAP APO, the units of measure are converted to the header unit of measure.
    Hope the information is useful

    Are there any other parameters that I have to pass?Plz suggest a solution for this......

    Hi Francois,
    Thank you for looking into the issue. Your first response was did you try get_form_field. Yes I did, and it did not work. I realised later (hopefully correctly) that get_form_field will work only if the field below is treated as an input field within <htmlb:form> and </htmlb:form>.
    I shall re-explain the scenario. In default.htm, I enter an IDoc Number(input field) and click submit button. In the <form action > I have mentioned idoc.htm page. In idoc.htm, in On Initialization , I create a tree.
    Method of creating tree
    a) I create a table of type TVIEWNODE and populate the relevant details, except for the link field. The parameters that needs to be passed to the next page is a structure. In order to achieve this(I found this method in one of the posts in the forum),
    Step I -- Serialize the structure data using CL_BSP_UTILITY=>SERIALIZE_DATA and fill a table LT_PARAMETER_LIST.
    Step II -- I then construct a URL using CL_BSP_RUNTIME=>IF_BSP_RUNTIME~CONSTRUCT_BSP_URL passing APPLICATION NAME, 'SEGMENT.HTM' and table LT_PARAMETER_LIST.
    Step III -- This method returns a URL which is then appended in the TVIEWNODE table and the tree is created.
    The tree is created perfectly and the links are perfect as well.
    However as mentioned in my earlier post when I click on the link, the URL shows all the attributes but I am not able to fetch the same using GET_ATTRIBUTE method or GET_FORM_DATA method.
    Next point mentioned was create an attribute. This is an interesting point that you have mentioned. In page attributes, when I try pa_s_idoc-segnam, it mentions special characters not allowed.
    I will explore the possibility of creating fields of internal table as page attributes i.e. using SEGNAM instead of pa_s_idoc-SEGNAM and then pass values to these.
    If there are any other solutions do let me know.
    Thanks again, Francois.

  • Problem with empty report parameters when passed to PL/SQL function

    Hi,
    We have come across what appears to be a bug in the JRC. When passing a report parameter to a PL/SQL function as a parameter, empty parameters are changed before being sent to the function. More specifically, an empty string "" ends up as the value "(')" in the PL/SQL function parameter. In our report we print the report parameters on the first page so we know that the parameters are OK before being passed to the database.
    The problem exists for version 12.2.203, 12.2.204 and 12.2.205 of the JRC.
    We have identified a workaround, but it is not exactly elegant: Before executing the report we modify all empty  parameters ("") to " " . In the PL/SQL function, we trim all parameters before using them.
    We call the function using a command object with a sql syntax like this example:
    select * from table (qa_batch_release.get_qa_br('{?p_report_id}','{?p_reg_set_number}','{?p_cr_number}','{?p_change_id_decode}','{?p_country_id}','{?p_mfg_item_no}','{?p_4_no}','{?p_5_no}','{?p_7_no}'))
    The PL/SQL function is a table returning function.
    Best regards, Thor

    Hi Kishore,
    using #COLUMN_VALUE# would probably not make much sense, because normally a report has multiple columns and not just the numeric column which you want to verify if it's negative. But APEX will fire the template condition for each column, because the report template is a column cell template.
    What you can do to make it more generic is to use for example
    #CHECK_AMOUNT#
    in the template and provide a not displayed column in your SQL statement which contains your value which is named CHECK_AMOUNT. For example:
    SELECT NAME
         , BALANCE
         , BALANCE AS CHECK_AMOUNT
    FROM XXX;Because this CHECK_AMOUNT column would be a generic name, you can use this template in all your reports as long as you provide this column.
    Thope that helps

  • Error in passing parameters from Form to Report

    set_report_object_property(rep_id,REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE,BATCH);
    set_report_object_property(rep_id,REPORT_COMM_MODE,SYNCHRONOUS);
    set_report_object_property(rep_id,REPORT_DESTYPE,CACHE);
    set_report_object_property(rep_id,REPORT_DESFORMAT,vc_runformat);
    set_report_object_property(rep_id,REPORT_SERVER,vc_reportserver);
    set_report_object_property(rep_id,REPORT_OTHER,'comp_code='||:global.vc_comp_code||' vc_name='||cust_name||' inv='||inv||' invoice_no='||inv_no||' invoice_date='||inv_dt||' Paramform=no');
    vc_reportserverjob:=RUN_Report_Object(rep_id);
    vjob_id:=substr(vc_reportserverjob,length(vc_reportserver)+2,length(vc_reportserverjob));
    vc_rep_status :=REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS(vc_reportserverjob);
    if vc_rep_status='FINISHED' then

    else
    set_alert_property('alert_ok',alert_message_text,'Report failed with error message '||vc_rep_status||' !');
    al:=show_alert('alert_ok');
    end if;
    END;
    Report does not run
    now what i have found while rnd that
    when i pass a lot of userdefined argument
    it gives error.
    and if passed one,two,three userdefined argument than it works.
    in this example only
    when i passed
    inv='10016'
    dt='06-09-2003'
    inv_no='010016'
    comp_code='01'
    vc_name='PRODIMPEX'
    with these reports run fines but
    when i increase name data with one caharacter also it gives error
    say
    vc_name='PRODIMPEXR'
    report does not run.
    vc_name in report has character type with length 100
    but a lot of argument is to be passed more.
    I have also checked variable length. its fine
    i think there would be some setting in some report system file having the length of parameters
    which can be passed.
    please help me if u know this.
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    this sounds familiar. Didn't you post exactly the same question a couple of weeks ago ? Don't remember what I replied to you, possibly to use varchar2 instead of character and give it a try. If this doesn't work, I remember that there is a way to use serverside command files for common parameters that needs to be passed. At least I can not find any bug filed against this. If the behavior doesn't change to teh better I therefore suggest to talk to customer support and file a bug.

  • How do you pass parameters to a Pipelined function?

    I am using Oracle 10G and the ODP .NET 32 bit client.
    I am facing an issue trying to use variable binding with a pipeline function in Oracle. I am using ODP .NET for connecting to the database.
    If you want to be familiar with PIPELINED functions, you can read [this  blog.|http://oradim.blogspot.com/2007/10/odpnet-tip-using-pipelined-functions.html]
    I have very similar code with a difference. My function takes in two parameters that I need to pass to get the table. This is working in SQLPLUS without any issues.
    In my C# code, however things change. My function no longer returns a recordset (data reader), if I use the standard method of assigning the parameters.
    The code will work if I concat the variables in a string.
    Here is the example that doesn't work.
            static OracleDataReader fetchData(OracleConnection oc, string strPONumber)
                try
                    OracleCommand od = oc.CreateCommand();
                    od.CommandType = System.Data.CommandType.Text;
                    od.CommandText = "select * from table(pkg_fetchPOInfo.getPORowsTable(:1,:2))";
                    OracleParameter op1 = new OracleParameter();
                    op1.ParameterName = "1";
                    op1.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Varchar2;
                    op1.Direction = System.Data.ParameterDirection.Input;
                    op1.Size = 7;
                    op1.Value = strPONumber;
                    od.Parameters.Add(op1);
                    OracleParameter op2 = new OracleParameter();
                    op2.ParameterName = "2";
                    op2.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Varchar2;
                    op2.Direction = System.Data.ParameterDirection.Input;
                    op2.Size = 3;
                    op2.Value = "US";
                    od.Parameters.Add(op2);
                    OracleDataReader or = od.ExecuteReader();
                    return or;
                catch (Exception e)
                    Console.WriteLine("Error " + e.ToString());
                    return null;
            }Here is the example that does.
          static OracleDataReader fetchData(OracleConnection oc, string strPONumber)
                try
                    OracleCommand od = oc.CreateCommand();
                    string formSQL = "Select * from table(pkg_fetchPOInfo.getPORowsTable('"+strPONumber+"','US'))";
                    od.CommandType = System.Data.CommandType.Text;
                    od.CommandText = formSQL;
                    OracleDataReader or = od.ExecuteReader();
                    return or;
                catch (Exception e)
                    Console.WriteLine("Error " + e.ToString());
                    return null;
            }

    throw it into an anonymous block and it should work for you.

  • Pass parameters to a report instance, or filter an instance of a report

    Hi,
      I am using Web Elements as linked reports with no problems for on demand reports but I need to run an instance of a report and then use a web elements/opendocument link to a subset of that data.
    Basically I have a report on a college that drills down to campus and then course level.  If I have an on demand subreport (via web elements link) to a course, linking course code then it brings up the 20 or so students on that report on the fly - taking < 30 seconds.
    The problem is that I need this at Campus level as well.  If I do it on the fly by linking on Campus instead of course, it times-out due to the large numbers of student records in the detail level.
    If I change the link from the main report to point to the instance of the report I get all records, not just the campus I need (I get all campuses).
    I then put in parameters to just select the required campus within the Instance of the report that is run for all campuses.   The Instance is created with Parameters set to wildcard values, so that the parameters are available to pass values.  I have also tried running the subreport without parameters, but it just displays all records and ignores parameters passed in (unsurprisingly).
    I have had other reports working with linked parameters before, but only to the .rpt report - not to an instance.
    The report works, but again all reports are displayed because when I checked the parameters they are shown as wildcards, as used when creating the instance, NOT the parameters I am trying to pass to the instance.
    If I change the link to go to the Param Instance instead of the last instance (sInstance=Param), then I get an error because the report instance was created with wildcard parameters but the link has campus set, so there is no matching instance as far as Crystal is concerned.
    An approximation of the link used is below:
    http://...opendocument.aspx?sType=rpt&NAII=N&iDocID=1234&sInstance=Last&lsSAcadPeriod=07/08&lsSparamCampus=E
    I cannot simply run an instance of the report for each Campus as there is are additional  layers I have left out of this example for clarity (School, CampusType etc).
    I need a solution that either allows parameters to work with instances of reports, or filter records in instances of reports.
    I hope I have explained this clearly enough - please let me know if not, or if you have any other questions.
    Many thanks in advance for any and all help.
    Geoff Langdon.

    hello arjhay,
    webelements 2.3 will not work seemlessly, unfortunately, with xir3.
    in xir3 the dhtml viewer has changes in it that are more web 2.0.
    things that will not work and are deprecated for webelements & xir3 are the functions in WEViewer. this is due to the toolbar in the new viewer being a widget as opposed to a set of divs. however, opendocument for xir3 will allow one to switch off the toolbar using an opendocument paramter and will also allow one to switch off the new style tab bar.
    the new dhtml viewer also does not encase report fields & functions etc. within a form tag. many webelements controls require a form so the new design for xir3 will be to put a new WEFormStart at the top of each report using webelements. what this does is basically start a form in the viewer and allow the controls to function properly.
    so in summary there are 2 changes for xir3:
    a) each report using webelements must have a WEFormStart function added to the beginning of the report
    b) references to WEViewer must be removed from reports that are used in xir3
    there will be a new 2.4 function suite out in several weeks and this will contain the new WEFormStart as well as other syntax changes to allow reports to work in xir3.

  • Passing Variable Number of Parameters to Cobol Stored Procedure

    Hi. I have a web front end that needs to access several different tables via Cobol stored procedures. It seems simple enough to call the stored procedures straight away (DAO Pattern perhaps?) but my boss is insistent on having an intermediate Cobol program that decides which table to access. I think he at a bigger picture than I can see.
    The problem lies in the number of parameters that need to be passed to the stored procedures; some need 3, others needs 5, a few need 4. The only two solutions that I can think of are to pass EVERYTHING (we're talking 50 parameters or so) to the intermediate stored procedure and then pulling only what is needed from that data set to access the desired table. Solution number two involves passing everything to a temp table and then pulling what is needed from it. The former solution seems a little cleaner but still involves passing a lot of parameters. If Cobol could handle some sort of dynamic memory allocation (Vector) there seems to be a possible solution there. Though, as far as I know, that isn't possible.
    Any ideas are much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

    Hi Saurabh,
    The method in which stored procedures are called on form submit is something as follows.
    Let us take your scenario of a form which has multiple checkboxes and a submit button. On clicking the submit button, this form data is submitted using either get or post. The form's submit action invokes a procedure.
    The HTML form code will look something like this..
    htp.formOpen( curl => 'URL /myProcedure',
    cmethod => 'post' );
    htp.formCheckbox( cname => 'myCheckbox'
    cvalue => 'A');
    htp.formCheckbox( cname => 'myCheckbox'
    cvalue => 'B');
    htp.formCheckbox( cname => 'myCheckbox'
    cvalue => 'C');
    htp.formSubmit( cname => 'myButton',
    cvalue => 'OK');
    Now, whenever the submit button is clicked, all these form values are passed to our stored procedure 'myProcedure'.
    "myProcedure" looks something like this.
    procedure myProcedure
    myCheckbox IN sys.owa_util.vc_arr,
    myButton IN VARCHAR2
    is
    begin
    end myProcedure;
    The point to be noted here is that the name of the variable being passed in the procedure is the same as the name of the HTML element being created in the HTML form. So, there is a direct mapping between the elements in the HTML form and the procedure parameters.
    Another noteworthy point is that since you have multiple checkboxes in your HTML form, it is impractical to name all the checkboxes differently and then pass those many parameters to your procedure (Imagine a scenario where there are a hundred check-boxes in an HTML form!). So portal allows you to give the same name (cname) to all the checkboxes in your HTML form, and if multiple checkboxes are checked, it will return all the checkbox values in an array (Note the usage of "myCheckbox IN sys.owa_util.vc_arr" in myProcedure).
    You can check out this link for more information.

  • Passing multiple URL parameters with same name

    Hi,
    I have a question which is not entirely related to Java. But although its related HTTP calls, so I thought I might get some ideas here.
    Background:
    I am making HTTP URL call from SAP ABAP code. Its pretty much similar to Java (creating URL connection, setting HTTP headers, connecting, receiving response and everything)
    For example,
    http://service_server:8080/a7/extension.services.SearchRequirements.a7x?RequestStatus=CR&RequestStatus=RR
    Now, this service_server runs a query to database where it uses both these values of "RequestStatus" to form 'OR' condition for a field.
    Issue:
    When I run this URL from browser, it shows XML response containing results for both values. In short, this is the ideal response.
    (I am using getParameterValues(string) at service_server to read multiple values for same parameter)
    But when I see response in SAP system, I see that it is returning data for only one value of 'RequestStatus'.
    I checked the logs of service_server, and I see that it has received only one parameter, not two.
    Question:
    It seems like SAP systems web server is truncating both parameters with same name and passing just one of them to outside server(??)
    Is there any configuration at Web Server side or any HTTP headers to be set so as to avoid this?
    Can anybody suggest something on this?

    I managed to resolve this issue by using HTTP 'Post' method to send the data.

    Hi,
    this sounds familiar.

  • Ho wto Dynamically Pass Parameters to a Query in Discoverer

    Hi All,
    I have a Query where I would to like to pass the Parameters Dynamically.In my query I have three selects and two UNION ALL's.In the three selects I have to pass Period & Year Parameters.In Each Select the Period Calculation is Different.Say in first & second select from the passed period parameter I calculate the previous Months.Whereas in the last select I do the the calculation with the Passed Period.How is it Possible with Discoverer..
    Thnx in Advance

    Hi,
    Well there is no straight forward way to do that.
    There is a work around to get that functionality by using outer tables or context.
    Take a look at the following posts:

  • Passing array of parameters to constructor

    I'm writing a script which facilitates interaction between javascript and an already existing flash library. One of the things I need to do is create an instance of class x, where class x can be one of a large number of classes. The constructors for these classes each take different numbers of parameters. I want to pass the parameters in from Javascript as an array, and I was hoping that there would be a way to pass the array contents into the constructor as parameters. I tried using apply, but it's not available on constructors.
    The only other option I know of is to write a large case statement full of constructors, and for each parameter pass an integer indexed array element. Is there any other way?

    Your going to have to unpack your array no matter what, so no.
    You can make your class factory with your huge case, or, if you have the source for your lib you could modify the constructor, but its the same amount of work:
    Was:
    public function MyClass(s:String, n:Number, d:Date){...}
    To:
    public function MyClass(s:*, n:Number=0, d:Date=nul){
      <case code here>
    If you have a decent platform, or even javascript, you could maybe think about writing a parser that will generate the class factory case based on the constructor signatures.

  • Passing Parameters to an IAC Iview

    I am trying to fill in a field name for an IAC Iview. It renders the requested transaction, but doesn't fill out the field. I am using the ApplicationParameter property with an IAC Transaction iview.
    In the ApplicationParameter field I just have one value: <fieldname>=<value>
    I am able to get this to work using a web gui transaction iview, and it fills out the requested field ok. However, I have to use a IAC transaction iview because of its abiliy to hide buttons and the transaction box, so any clues as to would be appreciated.
