Probelm upgrading to 5.0

I've tried at least 15 times to update my iPhone 4 to the new iOS 5.0. It keeps saying the my network connection is timed out and that I need to check my security settings. I got on the support site several times to find solutions. Everything I saw said to turn off my firewall and all things to do with security; I did. IT STILL ISN'T WORKING! It took it to the Apple Store to see if they could help me. The only help I received was them telling me to restore my phone and then update. That isn't working either because the update won't download. Can anyone help?

Sounds like the server is still really busy.
Download the iOS update directly instead (maybe overnight) from the Apple Servers, then press "alt" on your Mac as you click on Update button in iTunes.
Locate the saved iOS file and off it should go.

Lenovo G560 doesn't memory upgrade probelm

I'm having trouble with upgrading memory in my G560.The current configuraion has a DDR3 1333Mhz module. I'm trying to add a new 4GB DDR3L 1600Mhz SO-DIMM module Transcend make. The BIOS recognizes the 6MB memory, but while booting my windows7 home 64 bit, it shows error. It gives me a option of repair, but when i select repair it just stops at a grey screen. The same set of 2GB and 4GB modules works fine together in my DELL E4520. So i know that the 2 modules are working fine. If i try the new 4GB module standalone, i get a BSOD with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. If i try two modules of 2GB DDR3 1333, the G560 works fine and windows boots normally. Can you suggest a way out

If the Transcend 4GB DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM have dual voltage capability (like this item), does it have the same memory timings like in the stock RAM?
Some DDR3L (1.35v) memory modules are designed to be backwards compatible to DDR3 (1.5v) a.k.a. dual voltage so you can mix and match them with DDR3 (1.5v) modules but depending on the design, this is dependent on the BIOS if it will allow the usage of dual voltage. Otherwise, you will only see one working memory module or sometimes, the system will not POST due to hardware incompatibility.
In addition, as discussed in this thread, the G560 is a bit picky when comes to the RAM. It's possible that it doesn't support the memory timings of the 4GB DDR3L RAM (maybe due to the low voltage specs) compared to the timings in the G560's BIOS (1.5v specs). If that 4GB DDR3 is a newly purchased, I would consider getting a different RAM like the one that worked for other users in this thread.

Upgraded to Version 7.0.6 probelm

My iphone 5 upgraded to version 7.0.6 a week ago, however, the top of on/off button not working very smoothly. Would like to change back to lower version. Need urgent help! Thanks!

Today I went to Apply store and raised of my status. They didn't test my phone problem. Firstly they check my warranty is still valid or not, but of course is expired, I bought it 2012 sept. Then they told me upgrade to 7.0.6 will not cause such problem, it should be my on/off button problem. Before upgrade, I don't hv this problem fore sure. Then, they finally teach me to reset my phone at home. I didn't do it yet.

2.3 upgrade probelm

I've installed 2.3 upgrade twice now, both times will work for a little then the system locks up. Both times I needed to restore to original factory setting. Anyone know what this issue is?????

Probelm to unzip bin files during upgrade of oracle

We are doing upgrade from 9i to 10g and we are trying to unzip bin files but strange,we are not able to unzip files.Can any one let me know how to unzip and what might be the problem,

Hello Chandra,
you can not unzip the *.bin files directly.
You have to concatenate them before with "cat" and then you can unzip it.
The procedure is described in sapnote #509314
To get the original zip-file back, use the following commmands for:
UNIX cat <prefix>aa.bin <prefix>ab.bin ... >> <prefix>.zip

Upgrade BIOS and drivers have possibly corrupted drive. OS will not boot.

I haven't started up my computer in a while. First I installed the critical and optional updates (3 total) from windows update, rebooted, and Toshiba Service Center popped up and said that there was the BIOS 3.10 update and the HDD/SSD Alert update. Through the Service Center I downloaded and installed the BIOS update, at the end it seemed as if there was an error. I rebooted the computer and everything seemed ok, so I downloaded the HDD/SSD update through the Service Center. Upon rebooting the drive would not boot. (Screen remained blank with a blinking cursor and HDD light was not on.) There are no accessories/USB devices/drives attached. After a reboot I checked the BIOS and it recognizes the Hard drive, I restored all settings in BIOS to default and rebooted. The computer started receiving stop errors (blue screen) and stuck in a reboot loop. I entered the BIOS, restored default settings again and rebooted, I could get to safe mode and it would receive stop errors trying to load disk.sys file. I also tried last known good configuration and that wouldn't work either. After a while the laptop was able for me to select to try and repair the disk using the repair utility. It reported that there may be partition errors (on the last step of recovery) and I selected to repartition the drive to factory default with the Toshiba repair tools. It got to about 98-99% and received errors at the end. I tried using a Windows disk to reinstall the OS, but it reported it couldn't install on any of the drive partitions because of an error in the boot configurations. After trying to repair again it doesn't report any disks or partitions. Currently after booting it reports now that there is an error that occurred while attempting to read boot configuration. File: \Boot\BCD|Status: 0xc000000f. Guessing that the boot sector got corrupted. After reading that BIOS isn't recommended to be installed while in windows, I'm wondering if using the service center messed something up.
Question 1: Any recommended actions to take now? No recovery disk available
Question 2: Is there a way to configure the service center to download a BIOS update and be able to save it instead of only being able to install it within windows and the service center?

I was able to get into system recovery. This system recovery was different then the first one I came across. Underneath the Command Prompt option there was a selection for a Toshiba based restore. That is the one I tried that failed at 98-99% This system recovery just has the standard options. At first it showed me the original OS of Home Premium (recovered). I tried to repair the Home Premium and it still wouldn't work. "Startup could not repair the problem". On the many tries the probelms were either "Failed Installation" or "Partition Table". Then when I tried loading the OS it would blue screen and reboot repeatedly. So I loaded up Windows 7 Professional from a different CD to at least get the OS working. I tried Repairing but that didn't work with the same errors, and it also reported that there was no system image on the disk. I did a Custom (fresh) install and had all items copied to Windows.Old folder. So now I have an OS, BUT I can't activate it now even with the keys that I have from the old version because it said the key was only used for upgrade, not clean installs. So now I'm left with trying to find a way to get the original Home Premium image so I can load that and then upgrade since I have the keys I need. I tried doing repairs again, this time it showed me two Windows 7 Professional and one Windows 7 Home Premium. Again I tried repairing the Home Premium but it came back with the same errors. Now all that remains is just the fresh install of Windows 7 Professional that I installed but can't activate with the key. Anyway I can get/download a factory image from Toshiba? I only just bought the laptop shortly before Christmas.

After upgrading to Mountain Lion on my 2011 27" iMac, my Mac occassionaly locks up while using Safari, Mail or Dreamweaver and I have to d a force-quit, then restart my Mac. Anybody having similar probelms?
I am thinking about doing a clean install of Mountain Lion. Would I be able to restore my applications and data from Time Machine after the re-install?

My 24 inch iMac... 2.8 GHZ dual core (Early 2008) is having the same problem. After it sleeps, I go to use something... and the beachball of death occurs. This happens multiple times a day... and let me tell you... it is annoying... and I am the one who is being annoyed!
It could possibly be revolving around safari... as that is really the only thing that is running consistently. I don't use iTunes on this iMac as I have so many other Macs up and running in the house... and I never consume media on it... so I kind of dismiss iTunes being the culprit.
This is majorly affecting my Mac... in terms of reliability and uptime... which coincedently is the main reason why I switched to Mac in 2008. This is my only Mac that could upgrade to ML... so I don't know how widespread this is... but I hope that this problem can be solved...
I agree with another person who commented on this issue... do we really need a 10.8.1 update already... to fix this?

ITunes videos won't play after 10.8 upgrade--checkerboard pattern

On my Mac Mini (mid-2009) connected to an LG TV, after upgrading to Mountain Lion, all purchased videos on iTunes play audio but display a gray/white checkerboard pattern instead of a video. The same happens when I try to play the videos in Quicktime.
Someone else posted a similar problem here -- https://discussions.apple.com/message/19104312#19104312 -- but my problem doesn't seem to be the same (a conflict with Edovia's TouchPad app). I do, however, connect to this Mac Mini through Screen Sharing, and perhaps there's a VNC conflict going on. Just to be sure, I turned off another Edovia app, "Screens," on my iPad, but the issue remained.
iTunes will happily play non-iTunes-store videos. Also, I'm able to stream the iTunes Store videos from the Mac Mini to my MacBooks (running Mountain Lion and Lion) and iPad without any problems.
Thinking it was a DRM-related issue, I disassociated all devices and computers from my iTunes Store account and then reconnected them. No joy. I repaired disk permissions. No luck. Lots of restarting.
Has anybody else run into this? Possible solutions? It's driving me batty.

I am having this exact problem, however, it's only video content I download from iTunes. Anything that I've imported into iTunes, from alternate sources, will play just fine.
This seems to be a Quicktime problem as I have found that when you attempt to play iTunes files in Quicktime player, the same grey and white checkerboard pattern appears.
I am using my MacBook and MacMini in the exact same way. I am hoping there is an update to fix this probelm ASAP. This was my media center.

Problem with Character Set after upgrade

I have a probelm and was wondering if anyone has seen this before.
I have been running Java 1.4.2_13 for a while now on some Windows servers. About a month ago we upgraded to Java 1.6.0_12.
We are reading input files that are in the character set Big5 HKSCS. After the upgrade our application started to report certain characters as invalid. Some of the characters are 0xD843, 0xD844.
These should be valid characters and were in the previous version of Java (1.4.2_13).
Has anyone seen this?

Big5 with Hong Kong extensions, Traditional Chinese (incorporating 2001 revision)You would know more than I do about that 2001 revision (or at least, not less than I do, since I know nothing about it). Perhaps that's the source of your problem?
Edit: especially since the [Supported Encodings|http://www.j2ee.me/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/intl/encoding.doc.html] page for Java 1.4 doesn't mention the 2001 revision.

EHP 7 upgrade - Got stuck at Pre-processing - urgent help required

I am upgrading my current ECC 6 EHP 6 system to EHP7. I got stuck in the Pre-processing phase "imports included Add-on and Support Packages into the shadow tables and the new tables". there is no error but it is runnign for more than 15 hours now. i dont even see a latest log showing its progress. The logs got updated 14 hours ago and there is no update after that.
The shadow instance was down. Main instance is up and running and no Jobs running. I manually started the shadow instance and checked if that will help . but no use. so restarted the SUM tool. it gives a different problem now. I have listed out the current probelms below. please check and advise
1. SUM tool shows, "ABAP- Starting handshake" - SAPUP.Out erro message (ERROR in GUI communication: Error in network interface: NIEINVAL (0/53 written))
2.Shadow instance up and running but while trying to login from GUI,it says "rabax during SAPGUI logon". i can see all its WP in 'waiting' status at the OS level
3.in DB02, "oldest Open Transaction" shows Aug 15 2014 10:30 PM, which means this transaction is there at the DB level for more than 16 hrs now.
Please help trouleshoot and resolve this. useful inputs will be rewarded immediately

I have resolved the 1st issue, after killing the SAPup process at os level.
now, in the SUM tool, it gives the following info,

: Check status again
TP program is running at OS level. but as already said, no background job runnig in Main instance and the shadow instance was already down. shal i kill this TP process and try with option 03) ?

Hi all the experts out there. I have no problem upgrading to IOS 6 on my iPhone 4S, but when I did the same onto my iPhone 4, after re-start I just cannot connect to WiFi! I had no probelm with this connection PRIOR TO the upgrade. I called the Apple Call Centre, and the technician admitted that this is a problem. And he advised me to pushed both Power on and Home buttons together for 10 seconds and re-start the phone. I did that, but still the phone cannot connect to WiFi. I have restored to pre-IOS 6 on my iMac, but for some reason, the iOS 6 stays in the phone!

A lot of us did. The way I fixed mine was to go into the WiFi settings and forget the network. After that, look for it again and sign in.
Other people were successful trying different things. If this doesn't work, then search the board. You'll find something.

Problem with upgrade to Adobe X 10.0 on my Windows 7 laptop

After the upgrade, everything I print is blurry with some words randomly in bold. I tried removing the program and reloading the new version but I still have the same probelm. I'm printing on a HP Photosmart 700 Series. Suggestions? Thanks.

If I am correct this file contains the unzipped download, there will be setup.exe file in it. It normally deletes OK. Try rebooting first.

Sorry, I totally forgot the terms and conditions but your answer was fully along the lines of the Apple support staff, which is just a waste of money.
About the lack of professionalism we are experiencing I am seriously considering moving into Linux.
In any case, I have solved the problem in the same way as with the upgrade to LIon. I do not think I will be alone with this probelm so this is what worked for me.

If you are syncing your contacts with something, disable that for now. (Disable Contacts in iCloud)
Archive your Address book by going to File menu, Export, Address book Archive.
Close Address Book.
Go to the Finder and while holding down the Option key, select Library from the Go menu.
Navigate into Application Support/AddressBook.
Delete addressbook.abcddb. (I actually deleted all files except for the folders)
Open Address Book and see how it works. (It was totally empty)
Turn Syncing back on if applicable. (activate again contacts in iCloud)
-- Now it is working normally and all options are activated.
The file you deleted is a database that indexes the raw data to make display, search, etc faster. However, it does seem to get corrupted with updates.
This, at least in my case, did happenned again with the iCloud upgrade.

Since I upgraded to IOS7 on ipad, cannot sync videos

Since upgrading to IO7, when I connect my ipad to itunes, I do not get the photos tab. I have a new iphone 5s and when I connect to itunes the photos tab appears but not with the ipad. Anyone else having this probelm?

Make sure you have the latest version of iTune.
