Overriding Spring Version In OEPE

I am attempting to use OEPE to create a Spring-based application. Specifically, I am attempting to use Spring 3.1.1.RELEASE.
Unfortunately, I receive the following error message on server startup:
14:56:26.664 [[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '4' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] ERROR o.s.s.core.SpringSecurityCoreVersion - *** Spring Major version '3' expected, but you are running with version: 2.5.6.SEC01. Please check your classpath for unwanted jar files.
In my deployment directory, all of the Spring files at version 3.1.1.RELEASE.
I've tried two separate means in weblogic.xml to make the server use my version (note: one of the means I am using is commented out below, but I have tried both):
<pre>
     <wls:container-descriptor>
          <wls:prefer-application-packages>
               <wls:package-name>com.oracle.ojdbc16.*</wls:package-name>
               <wls:package-name>antlr.*</wls:package-name>
               <wls:package-name>javax.persistence.*</wls:package-name>
               <wls:package-name>org.apache.*</wls:package-name>
               <wls:package-name>org.springframework.*</wls:package-name>
               <wls:package-name>org.hibernate.*</wls:package-name>
               <wls:package-name>org.apache.xerces.*</wls:package-name>
          </wls:prefer-application-packages>
          <!-- <wls:prefer-web-inf-classes>true</wls:prefer-web-inf-classes> -->
     </wls:container-descriptor>
</pre>
Can anyone help?

I'm assuming you're pointing at the section referencing Project Facets. However, the Spring version I'm using is 3.1, and the highest option I have to select from in the Facet configuration is 3.1. Eclipse is quite glad to tell me these aren't compatible and not let me go any further.
All I need is Weblogic to honor my <prefer-application-packages> section, or for <prefer-web-inf-classes> to work so I can use the version of Spring I want to use, instead of the version Oracle has decided I will use.

  • Override Spring jar in Weblogic 12c

    Hi Folks,
    We have been facing an issue while overriding the Spring jar in Weblogic 12c. Basically we need to write a bean based on some 3rd party API calling their interfaces. Now they use Spring 2.5 jar for their own implementation. Since Weblogic inherently supports Spring 3.0 jar. As a result when we write our bean wrapping their interfaces and deploy it, it doesn't work. We replicated the issue by replacing Spring 2.5 jar with Spring 3 in local environment.
    If we modify the server classpath to load the Spring 2.5 jar (preceding Spring 3.0), entire soa-infra application goes down, so what We wanted to know if it is possible to override the Spring jar only for our application itself? While loading the application it will override the Spring 3.0 jar with Spring 2.5 in the application context but server will keep using Spring 3.0?
    Any ideas/suggestions highly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Bhaskar

    Hi Bhaskar,
    have you tried packing the Spring libraries in your application and using the Filterring Classloader? Maybe this links can help you :

  • Spring version with rest api of webcenter sites

    Hi everyone!
    I'm using the rest api of webcenter sites, with this libraries: com.fatwire.wem.api.rest 11.1.1.8.0, com.fatwire.wem-sso-api-cas-11.1.1.8.0, com.fatwire.wem-sso-api-11.1.1.8.0 in a spring application with version 3.2.10.RELEASE. And it's works fine! I'm getting a list of assets and all their attributes, but I need use this application with the spring version 4.0.6.RELEASE, then when I update the spring version the rest api this libraries do not work. This is the method that fails:
    SSOSession ssoSession = SSO.getSSOSession(baseUri);
    multiticket = ssoSession.getMultiTicket(username, password); -> ERROR LINE
    baseResource = baseResource.queryParam("multiticket", multiticket);
    this because the application cannot get a mutiticket. I'm using the same code and the same structure only changes the spring version. Oracle webcenter is updated with all the patches until this date.
    How it's possible solve this?
    Thx

  • Overriding spring configuration in J2EE deployment plan?

    I would like some suggestions on how to solve this problem:
    Background:
    We are developing an application with a web interface and a couple of EJB's, which will be deployed on WebLogic 9.2. We are using Spring 1.2.8. We are using a ContextSingletonBeanfactoryLocator to have a shared application context between the web app and the EJB's.
    We have some configuration values (server names, URLs, directories etc), which we would like to modify at deployment time, depending on the environment (local/dev/test/uat/prod). However, we definitely do not want to build different .ear files for each environment.
    The problem:
    The normal way to do this (when not using spring) is to place these in a deployment descriptor (e.g. web.xml or ejb-jar.xml) and then override them with a deployment plan at deployment time. But a deployment plan cannot override values in an arbitrary file (such as applicationContext.xml)
    Approach A:
    I use a PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer or similar to load an "c:\myapp.environment.properties" file, which was placed in the filesystem outside of the ear, and which was different in all environments. This is simple to implement, but in a distributed environment with many servers and many applications, it will be a pain to maintain this file.
    Approach B:
    Much like approach A, but put the property file in a separate application library and load it from the classpath. Then maintain a different version of this app library for each environment. This makes it simpler to ensure it's deployed to all managed servers - but it's a bit more complicated to maintain.
    Approach C:
    Use an extended ContextLoaderListener servlet so that it automatically deployed a PropertyPlaceholderConfigurer bean which expanded all context-params. E.g.
    <pre>
    <!-- web.xml -->
    <context-param>
    <param-name>remoteServerName</param-name>
    <param-value>myRemoteServerInDev</param-value>
    </context-param>
    <context-param>
    <param-name>fileDirectory</param-name>
    <param-value>c:\files</param-value>
    </context-param>
    <listener>
    <listener-class>
    dk.pfa.ConfiguringContextLoaderListener
    </listener-class>
    </listener>
    </pre>
    In my applicationContext.xml, I would then have <property name="serverName" value="${remoteServerName}"/>
    For production, I could override the web.xml in the deployment plan to set remoteServerName to "prodRemoteServer".
    The problem is that I cannot be sure that this servlet actually gets to configure the shared application context - an EJB may initialise first.
    I could put similar logic in each and every EJB, using <env-entry> in ejb-jar.xml instead of <context-param> in web.xml. This seems to invite trouble, since I would then have to ensure that the deployment plan had overridden values for all these entries as well .
    Finally I have the option of making an application lifecycle listener class - but that cannot access the web.xml, ejb-jar.xml or any other deployment-plan-overridable files, where I can put user-defined values .
    So what is the best practice? Or just a reasonable approach?
    Surely, I cannot be the first to face this problem, but if somebody has solved it, they forgot to mention it to Google

    I would vote for A or B

  • Overriding previous version of a  Process

    While deploying a new version of process, I want to override the existing process instance to use the new code/version.
    I believe the right way to do this is to override the previous version of the project with the new version when you deploy the new version of the project. Am I correct ? Or there is any other way to achive this?
    I tried to do that , and I get an error that the project versions are incompatible. Is there any documentation of how to know - what changes in the process design makes the versions incompatible??
    Thanks
    Pal

    Hi Pal,
    A process version is split into 3 parts, major, minor and revision number, separated by dots, '1.0.0' for example.
    When you publish a project ALBPM performs a compatibility check on the new processes against the last published versions to determine if they are 'compatible'. If the changes to the processes are compatible any current running instances created in the old version are migrated to the new version - called a revision change. The version number will move to 1.0.1.
    If, however, the change is not compatible and it is not possible to migrate running instances a minor revision will be created. The previous instances will continue running on the previous version but any new instances will be created using the new version. The version will move to 1.1.0.
    It is not possible to force a revision change when ALBPM determines that processes are incompatible. But it is possible to force a minor change when only a revision change is required by the engine's compatibility checks.
    As far as I know the major version is up to the user to change and isn't ever modified by the deployment tools.
    What exactly constitutes compatibility is defined in this doc : http://edocs.bea.com/albsi/docs55/pdfs/Fuego5-ProjectCompatibilities.pdf
    Hope this helps,
    Tim

  • Firefox 4 beta overrides older version.

    I´ve installed Firefox 4 beta today. I also have Firefox (not beta) installed. When opening "Mozilla Firefox" (a shortcut) from the desktop Mozilla 4 beta opens, when opening "firefox.exe" from c:/program files/Mozilla Firefox Firefox 4 beta open. This is quite disturbing because i like the new beta but I cant use it to open older extentions. Now it will be a uninstallation and i hope you´´ll solve this to next update ;)

    This seems to happen sometimes.
    To display the new interface, right-click in a blank area at the end of the menu bar and uncheck Menu Bar from the popup. You now should get the orange Firefox button. (Tap the Alt key to display the classic menu bar when needed.)
    If you are not getting the new start page, you can delete your current home page from the options:
    Tools > Options > General
    I'm sure I'm forgetting something. What else doesn't seem right?

    Hi,

  • Oepe 12.1.1.0.1 is not compatible with OSB (latest Version)

    Im installing the latest version of both, WebLogic Server with OEPE 12.1.1.0.1 and OSB Generic 11.1.1.6.0 and when I installing the OSB and setting the location for the OEPE I just receive a message saying that this is not a correct version, so i wonder how oracle releases two new versions that are incompatible between themself. Im tryint to set up a local environment for self learning purpose and been stuck for days tryint to find a reasonable solution...
    Just for the records im installing over Win 7 64 bits
    .than you in advance

    OEPE releases much more frequently than OSB, so you will find that to use OSB Eclipse plugins, you need a specific version of OEPE. Frequently, it isn't going to be the latest version. I am not familiar with the OSB installer. Does the installer error message not tell you what version of OEPE it is expecting? If it doesn't, you will need to ask on the OSB forum.
    You can download any past version of OEPE from this location:

  • Unable to add facet Spring 3.0

    Trying to select Spring version 3.0 results in "Further configuration required".
    The Spring configuration wizzard does not enable Next-button when choosing "Spring Framework Bundle from Spring IDE" as Library type.
    Pressing OK and Apply removes the Spring-selection!

    Could you see if there are any stack traces recorded in the log.
    1. Open Error Log view.
    2. Clear it.
    3. Repeat your steps to add Spring facet.
    4. Did anything show up in the log? If yes, please post here.

  • EAR Publishing in Helios with OEPE

    I'm running WLS 10.3 on Windows XP and publishing in split source mode with WebLogic Server Tools 1.6.1.201010012100. I have an EAR project which contains a prebuilt WAR file in its EarContent folder (not a project reference; just a standalone WAR file). When I publish the EAR project I'm getting ClassNotFoundExceptions for the servlet classes located in the WAR's WEB-INF/classes folder. This appears to be due to the fact that the publisher is copying a redundant instance of the WAR file into the .metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources\.projects\MyEarProject\beadep\MyDomain\MyEarProject directory. If I delete the WAR file from the metadata folder then I'm able to start my server from the command line and the EAR deploys okay in split source mode.
    Publishing for this scenario was working correctly for the same EAR project under Eclipse 3.5.2 with the old version of OEPE.
    Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    - Don

    I was able to reproduce the problem and will look into it and get it fixed in coming release.
    For a workaround, double click the WLS server and open the Server Editor,
    switch publishing mode to exploded archive.

  • Neither JMX nor JNDI seems working with OEP 12.1.3 (regression ?)

    Hi,
    I'm currently writing an OEP application, on the 12.1.3 version.
    My first problem is related to JMX: when OEP is started, I cannot connect in JMX:
    I lanch "OEP_HOME/oep/bin/wlevsjconsole.cmd"
    I use the following URL "service:jmx:msarmi://localhost:9002/jndi/jmxconnector" with user "wlevs" and my pwd
    Impossible to connect...
    My second problem is related to JNDI resource access:
    I add an "data-source" with its "data-source-params/jndi-names/element" in the OEP domain's config.xml file
    I start my OEP (with or without security disbaled, it doesn't change nothing)
    I try to access programmatically the JNDI resource (using the InitialContext lookup method with no prefix, with "java:comp/env/jdbc/", with "java:jdbc/, with "jdbc/") but I always get a NameNotFoundException.
    I try to list programmatically the JNDI resources using the list("") but I get a NoPermissionException.
    I'm not 100% sure, but it seems to me that these things were working with the 11 version of OEP. Could these be regressions ?
    Thx for any help or advice on this.
    RP

    After a reboot of node 2 everything returned to work fine.

  • No Weblogic server adapter in OEPE (12.1.3.1)

    Hi there,
    I've just download the latest version of OEPE (Luna) and realized that there is not Weblogic adapter included in the OEPE.
    Clicking on the "Download additional server adapters" also does not give me any Weblogic adapter option for download.
    Any idea? (I used to downloaded the bundled version with Coherence and Weblogic included but the bundled version is still not out. Does anybody know when the bundled version will be released?)
    Thanks

    Which version of WebLogic Server are you trying to configure in OEPE?
    If you go to the Servers view and right-click to select New, do you see an Oracle category in the New Servers view? Under the Oracle category there should be numerous WebLogic versions listed.
    Thanks,
    Greg

  • What is the new features for LabVIEW7.1(Spring,2005)?

    Hi,
    I am using LabVIEW7.1 Professional (Fall,2004) and we just ordered LabVIEW7.1 Professional (Spring,2005). I am wondering what are the difference between Fall and Spring versions and do I need to update my current one? Thanks for your answer.
    Tbird

    Good Morning,
    As was mentioned in the previous post there doesn't seem to be any additional changes since the 7.1.1 patch. On that note, it appears that the quarterly CD's just sent out don't include that patch, as we just installed LabVIEW on a machine Friday (tried to anyway!) and LabVIEW came up with version 7.1, even though I had the IT folks use the cd we had just received (the Quartely one). I said "tried to" as when they were done with the install there was a problem booting the machine, WindowsXP Pro SP2 giving a set of error messages, the first two claiming that the NI licensing executable (I don't remember the exact name at the moment) was trying to write to memory that it couldn't, and then when clicking past the two instances of that a message stating the Windows was having a problem. They were able to get the machine to start in "Safe Mode", and LabVIEW appears to be installed at that point (loads, runs apparently ok), so we don't know what went wrong. They are going to look into it more this morning and then probably scrub and reinstall everything. :-( So I guess my question is, has anyone used the quarterly update to install LabVIEW (the cd set really is to send out the NIDAQ 7.4 update)? If so, did it go ok? I've been installing LabVIEW for 13 years, since the days of bunches of blue floppy disks, and don't recall having anything like this happen. Thankfully, due to my customer's internal policies, the IT group was doing the install rather than me!

  • OEPE support for ADF 11.1.2.x (11g R2)

    Hi there,
    Are there any plans to release a (preview) version of OEPE that supports ADF 11.1.2.x (i.e. ADF with JSF 2.0 / facelets)?
    Thanks,
    Murray
    Edited by: 974848 on Dec 4, 2012 2:56 AM

    In ADF 12c there would be conversion from JSPX to Facelets. Hence, you could create JSPX-based templates today in OEPE and they would be migrated to facelets in the moment we support ADF 12 in OEPE.
    Nonetheless, to set up the right expectations: ADF Faces templates will work on facelets which does not imply ADF Faces template = Facelets Templates. As you might now we provide templating capabilities since the first release of ADF 11g. Are you looking into specific features of Facelets templating? perhaps I can validate internally if we cover them on our side on the ADF Faces templating.
    By the way are you currenly using OEPE with ADF?

  • Using OEPE 11.1.1.5.0 for OSB IDE

    Hi,
    I have downloaded oepe-galileo-all-in-one-11.1.1.5.0.201003170852-win32 stand-alone from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oepe/oepe_11115.html?rssid=rss_otn_soft. I am planning to install Oracle Service Bus 11.1.1.3.0 on a remote server and use the OEPE IDE in my local system to develop the proxy and business services to deploy on the remote OSB server. My first question is are there any plugins that need to be installed in OEPE 11.1.1.5.0 to use it as the IDE for OSB ? And how do I connect from the IDE to the remote OSB server?
    Thanks,
    sathish
    Edited by: user640514 on May 13, 2010 12:42 AM

    Hi Sathish,
    Regarding your question the OSB plugins for OEPE 11.1.1.5.0, I think OSB is bundled with an earlier version of OEPE. I would recommend posting this question to the OSB forum at SOA Suite as someone more familiar with OSB would be able to provide additional information
    OEPE as a stand alone product does allow you to connect to and work with a remote WLS instance.
    cheers
