Neither JMX nor JNDI seems working with OEP 12.1.3 (regression ?)

Hi,
I'm currently writing an OEP application, on the 12.1.3 version.
My first problem is related to JMX: when OEP is started, I cannot connect in JMX:
I lanch "OEP_HOME/oep/bin/wlevsjconsole.cmd"
I use the following URL "service:jmx:msarmi://localhost:9002/jndi/jmxconnector" with user "wlevs" and my pwd
Impossible to connect...
My second problem is related to JNDI resource access:
I add an "data-source" with its "data-source-params/jndi-names/element" in the OEP domain's config.xml file
I start my OEP (with or without security disbaled, it doesn't change nothing)
I try to access programmatically the JNDI resource (using the InitialContext lookup method with no prefix, with "java:comp/env/jdbc/", with "java:jdbc/, with "jdbc/") but I always get a NameNotFoundException.
I try to list programmatically the JNDI resources using the list("") but I get a NoPermissionException.
I'm not 100% sure, but it seems to me that these things were working with the 11 version of OEP. Could these be regressions ?
Thx for any help or advice on this.

After a reboot of node 2 everything returned to work fine.

  • Neither MP Navigator Ex nor Image Capture work with OS 10.7.3. Why?

I just bought a new Mac Book Pro, and can't get MP Navigator Ex or Image Capture to work.
I have a Canon Pixma MX 340, so I downloaded the 3.1 MP Navigator verions that was reccomended to replace the MP Navigator that was on my computer also 3.1).  The download page said that the version I was downloading was specifically for Canon MX 340 with os 10.7/ but when I try to open the application the notice comes up saying it can't be started (even though my printer is one of the printers on the list that 3.1 should work with).
As for Image Capture, it tells me it can't detect my printer/scanner.  I am connected with a USB cable .  I have no trouble printing files with my new macbook pro, and the scanner part of the printer still works with well with my old macbook.  So I know that the scanner is still funtional.
So between the two, I have no way of scanning with my new macbook pro.  Can anyone offer any solutions?
    Thanks
    Clayton

With Image Capture not seeing the MX340 when connected to the Mac via USB cable then in many cases the cause would be the USB cable. If this same USB cable is the one you use with the old Macbook, then it would rule out the cable. And with you being able to print via USB from the new MacBook Pro, this would also rule out the USB cable. But for the cost of a new USB printer cable, it would still be worth getting one just to be sure.
As for MP Navigator, this uses a different scanner driver to that used by Image Capture. So the first thing to ensure is that you have the full scanner driver installed. With the full scanner driver installed, this should allow you to open MP Navigator and commence scanning.

  • IDVD nor iMovie Is Working with ArcSoft Showtime Software

I used ArcSoft's Showtime to burn dvds from my vhs tapes. The copies are in .vob file format and neither iMac program will work with these movie discs which I can play in my home dvd. What must I do to have iMac software work with my dvds in .vob? Any help will be greatly appreciated! Bill

Btw .... if you have the finished DVD (assuming it is not copy protected) and it also has a video_ts foder then you might be able to use an app like:
    http://www.dvdxdv.com/NewFolderLookSite/Products/DVDxDV.products.htm
in order to convert the files to a format (QT) that i-apps can read (you may see some loss in quality as a result).

  • I cannot ope PDF files that are within a web link.  Neither Safari nor Firefox will work.  If I receive a PDF file as an email attachment, I can open it with either Adobe or Preview.  I'm running 10.6.8 on an iMac.

I'm going to re-state this.  Several weeks ago, I had installed Security Update 2012-004 on my iMac.  I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  Immediately afterwards, my Mail 4.6 was GONE.  Mail 4.2 was there, but the system would not open it.  The Apple Support Communites quickly solved my problem.  The problem lay within the Update.  Now, I cannot open PDF files that are contained within a website, i.e. a lunch menu that is on a restaurant website.  This happens on both Safari and Firefox.  If someone sends me an email with an attached PDF file, I can open the file with either Adobe or Preview.  This is happening only on my iMac.  My MacBook Pro, also running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 has not experienced either the first or second problem.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • X200s tried to add webcam - now neither webcam, nor thinklight will work

    Hi all,
So, as the username hopefully indicates - a newbie to the x200s, which I bought recently, though I've been using thinkpad products for a few years now (a devoted fan!)
My x200s did not come with a webcam and, since I am thousands of miles from home, I reckoned I would try and install one manually. Note that I have swaped its HDD for an SD & changed keyboard in the past with no problem, so I was assuming (foolishly, perhaps!) that vaguely knew what I was doing.
I followed the instructions and user experiences on this thread, I purchased this camera - and got off to work.
Even though everything seemed fine when adding the camera to the system, a strange thing happened after I rebooted (I run Linux Mint 16): neither the webcam, nor the thinklight were now working. After lots of testing, I assumed I must have just destroyed part of the cable during installation, and so I purchased this cable (Lenovo ThinkPad X200 LCD Video Cable 44C9909) and tried again. Same result! The only difference is that the first time round, an "lsusb" command on linux would return a Ricoh product (and I assume that's the webcam), but it would still not be recognised by Mint, while now, there's nothing. In both cases, the Thinklight didn't work.
Since both the thinklight and the webcam come out at the same end (see the right end of the cable on this picture) I am assuming, of course, that the two are related.
Would anyone know which of the clips on the left end of the cable on the same picture, above, correspond to the webcam and the thinklight?
Thanks for reading, and any response and thoughts on the above would be most appreciated - a little bit at loss at to what to do now.

    Hi,
perhaps HMM and Service Video might help.
Be sure integrated camera is enabled in the BIOS Setup menu.

  • Why are my Contacts NOT in alpha order (neither First nor Last order works)?

It doesn't matter what order I specify in Preferences, the Contacts are not in alphabetical order. This is crazy! What am I doing wrong?
It has to be something very simple and it's right in front of me, but I just can't see what the problem is.
    Thanks.
    Matt

It could be that you have spurious characters in the filenames? When you do a Manual sort a hidden file is created in the folder you are working in .BridgeSort this is just a text file with the list/order of the files. It might be worth having a look at the file and see if anything strange is happening.

you need to install the realtek and artheros drives for your computer. You can do this from your ubuntu install by chroot into arch, or by copying the files you need to your arch install and doing pacman -U
    see this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=46583
    packages in aur: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php? … _Search=Go
I would suggest chrooting though, that is what I did to get networking working on arch. Often it will work out of box after updating everything.
    how to chroot:
    mkdir /mnt/arch
    mount /dev/<device-or-partition-name> /mnt/arch
    cd /mnt/arch
    mount -t proc proc /arch/proc
    mount -t sysfs sys /arch/sys
    mount -o bind /dev /arch/dev
if you have other partitions for boot, home, etc mount those also.
    example
    mount /dev/<device-or-partition-name of boot> /mnt/arch/boot/
    then
    chroot . /bin/bash
you should be logged into the arch system in the terminal in ubuntu. You can then run pacman -Syu
    please see: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Change_Root
Alright so I've successfully chrooted into my Arch install, however it appears my network is still being undetected:

  • Neither FaceTime nor iMessage will work.

When I got my Apple iPod Touch 4G on Dec. 30th I was able to FaceTime and iMessage perfectly fine. It has been working until today. When I go on either one it shows the Get Started page. I hit get started and it takes me to the Apple ID page. I type in my password and it takes me to the E-Mail adress selection page. Then it sends me back after about 1.5 seconds. If I hit Next it immediantly sends me back. I have tried quitting them and turning off the iPod, but to no avail. What do I do?

Fixed it! I couldn't find any other people with this problem before, but after looking at some other threads in the more like this pane I found the answer - I just had to turn the "Set Automatically" option on in Settings! Who knew!

  • Help on purchasing a dvd camcorder to work with imovie

hello out there...was wondering which camcorder that has a dvd burner works best with imovie and osx...i want a sony, but i thought the small dvd's did not work on osx. presently, i have a digital8 and use a firewire connection to ingest video for editing with imovie. thanks for any help...

... boxes that holds DVD and hard drive recorders:
These files are intended for "one time" captures.
The file format is not intended for editing.
I totally agree with your recommendation: try to avoid DVD and harddisk camcorders at this point if you plan to edit on a Mac. Not only is software support seriously lacking, those Mini-DVDs don't even work with slot-loading drives that are common on Mac's.
But... there is nothing wrong with the MPEG-2 compression used on DVDs. Just look at HDV: It uses the same MPEG-2 compression to fit the the HD video into the space of a SD MiniDV tape. iMovie converts HDV video streams during capture into a format that is easier for editing - that's why the files on your harddisk are 4 times as big as the data on the tape. The quality of video captured by most consumer camcorders is more limited by the optics and the video sensor (in particular indoors, with less than perfect lighting), than the recording format and media. And yes, you can edit MPEG-2 just fine, it is just more challenging to get it working right.
I used to tell all my friends to stay away from DVD camcorders, too, but then broke down and very reluctantly bought a DVD camcorder recently. It's mainly used for recording music lessons, with instant and repeated replay. It took me some tinkering to work out a good workflow for editing with iMove. I did some side-by-side comparisons with a similarly priced MiniDV camcorder (Canon DC50 vs. Sony TRV-33). Overall, the video clips were almost identical from either camcorder, with the DVD camcorder producing slightly better video in some situations. But as I said in the beginning, that is probably mostly a result of the better video sensor and the optical image stabilization in this particular model.
So how does my workflow go:
    - Use DVD-RWs, formatted in Video-VR mode, and prefinalized. This allows
you to pop out the DVD from the camcorder at any time and immediately
use it in your DVD player or computer without another time-consuming
    finalization step.
    - Find a Windows PC to copy the video files from the DVD to my Mac.
Mac OSX cannot read the filesystem used by Video-VR discs without
additional software like Roxio's Toast (which I don't have). Besides, all
    my Macs are slot loading.
    - Convert the clip with the Quicktime MPEG-2 plugin and MPEG Streamclip
    to DV format.
    - Finally, import the clips into iMovie.
Workable yes, but neither convenient nor esay. Stick with MiniDV.

So why not using Ju11 ? You can workaround the issue. It would sucks but still be safer than using Ju9.
Also ask Mozilla forums if Firefox has options where to search for plugins.
Or try 64-bit Firefox. As I explained in both threads ...
Java 7 Update 10 Not Working with Firefox?
Java 7 Update 11 Not Working with Firefox
... neither jre7u10 nor jre7u11 are working ... and they are BOTH broken with the same problem ... "Java(TM) Platform" pliugin is missing from the plug-in list. It cannot be enabled, because it simply is NOT there. A suggestion was made the jre7u12 will be the "fix" for this issue ... so I installed the Update 12 Preview and it sis ALSO broken, no "Java(TM) Platform" in the plug-in list.
The ONLY Java version that actually works for me is jre7u9.
As far as installing Firefox 64bit ... I see no future in installing a browser that has been discontinued.

Even though Mozilla relented due to backlash, I continued development will be a somewhat low priority.

  • Why wont my iphone 4 to work with stereo dock

I recently got the new iphone 4 (I had the iphone 3 previously) and now I am finding that it does not seem to be compatible with some of my stereo accessories that worked just fine with the iphone 3. I have the Sony am/fm ipod stereo docking station and it will not work on that (nothing happens when I dock it, no sound or charge, nothing), nor will it work with the adaptor I have for my stereo system. Is there a setting on the phone that may resolve some of these issues or will I need to get new accessories? All this being said, the phone is working just fine with my car stereo adaptor, so I would think any settings (volume, etc) that would affect it's sound output would affect that as well........ also, the phone works just fine with all my chargers and usb cords too..........Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as I am experiencing great frustration not being able to listen to my music on my new fancy phone!!!!!!! Thanks

    at some point forget when
apple removed support for some firewire things in their pin30 connector which caused some older
accessories to stop working sounds like that could be what you're expeierncing

  • Unable now to import TIFs or to work with existing TIFs

This has been observed by other people but no answers forthcoming. I used to be able to import TIFs into an earlier version of iPhoto without any problem. However, now I cannot either import TIFs (error message warning of incorrect file type or similar text). Neither can I preview or work with those already imported prior to installing iPhoto6 and/or latest OSX updates.
Is there anyway of extracting the existing TIFs in the library ? I can't find any easy way to select by file type or filesize.

    Roger:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Where are those tiffs located that give you the error message when you try to import? If they are inside the iPhoto Library folder then that's the reason. You must move them out of that folder to be able to import them.
What do you get in the Edit window when you try to edit an existing tiff, a white window with the spinning cog? If so Download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, substituting your account name for mine. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.

  • Cant get motif XF8 to work with logic 9

I cannot get my motif XF8 to work with Logic 9, nor is it working with any other DAW.  I have used the motif since last summer and it has always been hit or miss with MIDI.  Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.  The cord is connected appropriately. I am mystified, and embarrassed to admit that I really don't get MIDI at all.  I have a  Macbook pro that is a year old or so.  Please help.

Uh . . . . .  I had to adjust Motif as in Utility/Control then set the MIDI In/Out to USB.   I felt very silly when I found this out.
