Ovi Calendar server back end lost shared calendar ...

Setup a shared calendar between the Ovi web suite, and two devices, a C5 and an N8
Day 1 - Syncing fine between web and phones
Day 2 - Go into web page, now the calendar is shared with 0 others! Each phone also has a separate calendar. No configuration changes were made between days 1 and 2
It seems this to be a major bug in the Ovi Calendar suite? Is the Calendar service now deprecated and shutting down? The Calendar web page looks and feels like it's not being actively updated and supported

Sorry, I should have mentioned, that it what my first thought so I tested by ensuring the email address associated with the user account (not hosted on the server but by Google Apps) is recieving all other mail.
I have also tried:
- Setting all accounts (calendar, email and contact card with associated email address) in another local user on a defferent Mac. So it's not a local user or Mail app issue.
- Sending invites from different Calendar apps and email accounts - iCloud, Gmail (both using Apple Calendar and the web interface).
That's why I came back around to thinking it must be calendar server related. However is there is absolutly no conntact with the server with incoming email invites I must be looking in the wrong place (and the wrong forum - sorry!).
Does anyone have any ideas where I should be focusing my efforts?

Lost shared calendars from all computers, iphones, mobileme, etc

After setting up some shared calendars for my husband and I to use, I realized he had duplicates. When I started deleting them suddenly the entire set of duplicates were gone. The really big problem is that they are also gone from my iCal (everywhere)!

I made, using iTunes, on the iPhone and on the iPad updates of apps.
Don't know why, but now, shared calendar sync is working again !

Random calendar alerts keep happening from shared calendars

I work at a 50 person organization. We all have a google calendar. All staff can see everyone else's calendar.
On iOS 8.1.2 in the calendar app, when I click "Calendars" at the bottom, I can see a list of all staff calendar. I can have them ticked to show them, or not.
When all calendars are unticked other than my own, I only see my calendar appointments.
The problem is in the notifications. Without any easy to define pattern, from time to time I will have my phone notify me of random staff members appointments. These are most often events I have nothing to do with (literally 6am "meetings" to wake up, go for a run etc etc).
If I click "show details", then quickly go back to the main calendar view, click "Calendars" down the bottom, I'll sometimes see that persons calendar ticked (even though they were all unticked previously) - but not always.
This problem has existed only since migrating from a iPhone 5 to iPhone 6. Both were up-to-date on 8.1.2. On the iPhone 5 I couldn't even see everyone elses calendar so I had no option to subscribe to seeing their calendars in the app.
When the problem first started happening, it was happening all the time - every 15 minute interval as everyones calendars were reminding them of their next thing. My phone would buzz like crazy. It is happening less so now - just a few times a day.

That is expected.
Can you create a new Outlook profile automatically?
Unless you have full mailbox access and have auto-mapped those shared mailboxes, autodiscovery doesnt come into play here.

How do I create a UI for SQL server back end using Dreamweaver wizard

I want to test a database driven application which is using SQL server as back end.
To test that I want to create web UI using C#. As I remember in dreamweaver there is a wizard to do it easily.
But I can not find it now. Please let me how to do it

Support for ASP.NET was removed from Dreamweaver some time ago (in CS4, I think).
If you want to restore the ASP.NET server behaviors in CS5, you need to install ASPNet_Support.mxp, which can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS5\configuration\DisabledFeatures in Windows or the similar location in the Applications folder on a Mac.
The server behaviors are no longer officially supported, but they perform the same functionality as in older versions of Dreamweaver.

Migrate Exchange Server 2010 Public Folder shared calendars to Exchange Server 2013

Dear All,
I have an question about calendars under public folder migrating to new exchange server 2013. When completed the PF migration progress, will it also migrate calendars under sub-folder under PF to new PF mailbox?
For example: in exchange 2010 PF:

Unable to start weblogic server back end in linux

Hi All,
      i am going to start weblogic 10.3.6 in production environment by using below commend but it gives error:
       >cd /usr/app/oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/base_domain
        >nohup startWebLogic.sh &
       But when I use this command I am getting this output:
     -bash-3.2$ nohup ./startWebLogic.sh &
-bash-3.2$ nohup: appending output to `nohup.out'
Can someone please help me in this.

Hi Ram,
That it's the normal behavior when you use a nohup command, all the output is getting saved into a nohup.out file that you can find in the same location where the startWeblogic.sh file resides..
If you do:
tail -f nohup.out
You will find all the output.
Also if you want to see the last 200 output lines do:
tail -fn 200 nohup.out
The advantage of using nohup is that if you are using a ssh client you can close the client and the process will keep running.

The following discussion expands upon the instructions for using the
Solstice/Legato client software to back up Calendar Server in the iPlanet
Calendar Server: Administration Guide. You can find this documentation at

If the Solstice/Legato Networker is installed under the default directory (as
per the recommended installation procedures), there should be three files
dedicated to Solstice/Legato Networker.

To initiate the Networker backup directory image, use the command 

csbackup -l

This command creates a directory named "
backup/" in the bin
directory and corresponds to Step 1

After you have initiated the directory image, you can use the following commands
to back up or restore 1) a Calendar database, 2) a specific user's default
calendar, or 3) a specific calendar. The following commands assume that the Networker
client software is installed under the /usr/bin/nsr
directory and the iCS 2.x server is
installed under the /opt
directory.

1) Calendar Database
? To back up a database: 

/usr/bin/nsr/save -s legato server host/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup
? To restore a database: 

/usr/bin/nsr/recover -a -f -s legato server host
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup
 

2) User's Default Calendar
? To back up a user's default calendar: 

/usr/bin/nsr/save -s legato server host
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup/userid
? To restore a user's default calendar: 

/usr/bin/nsr/recover -a -f -s legato server host
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup/userid 

3) Specific Calendar
? To backup a specific calendar:

? To restore a specific calendar:

You can also use the Networker graphical user interface to schedule backups.
For example, you could set up a client saveset to back up
/opt/SUNWicsrv/cal/bin/backup
periodically.

Permissions required to search a shared calendar?

I can view the shared calendar in my Outlook session, but whenever I attempt a search of calendar items, Outlook defaults back to my own mailbox calendar view and returns results that do not contain results from the Shared Calendar.
I have Editor permissions to the calendar.
Ideas?

Hi Jason,
Please check the following settings in Outlook:
1. Click File > Options > Search.
2. In the Results part, check Current folder.
3. Click OK to save the settings.
Then we can search the shared calendar by the following steps:
1. Navigate to Calendar pane, check the specific shared calendar listed under Shared Calendars.
2. Uncheck all calendars listed under My Calendars.
3. In the right top corner of the calendar month view, there is a box which we can type the Keywords to Search Shared -Calendar. Alternatively, we can press Ctrl +E to search it.
Then check whether the issue persists.

Ical and finding shared calendars

Ical is working fine on my emac with 10.4.7 OSX
except for the following:
When I try to download a shared calendar for on the "search shared calendar"such as the ACT testing calendar it pops up as an error stating iCal is not installed. Safari can’t open “webcal://ical.mac.com/ical/ACT.ics” because iCal is not installed. Well it is installed because we manage 3 calendars every day - I guess something is note installed poperly. Please help!

I'm not optimistic about the preferences file solving this problem, but the preferences folder lives in your Library folder (~/Library). You can get to it by opening a Finder window, then in the Menu bar, choose "Go > Library" while holding the option key. The Finder window should now show your user Library folder. Go to the Preferences folder and find the file com.apple.CalendarAgent.plist and delete it.
Disclaimer: Although deleting preferences files is usually harmless, please make sure you have backed up your computer before you do this, as I'm not responsible if doing so causes problems.

Family sharing calendar missing

We are using family sharing. My daughters iPhone 5 is missing the family sharing calendar. She is on her own Apple id and is updated to the latest OS. when I look at the calendar app, the family calendar is not an option. She is set up on a child account but restrictions are not enabled in her phone. any help is appreciated.

With Family Sharing, a calendar shared with all the members of your family is created automatically. See Family Sharing. You can also share an iCloud calendar with other iCloud users. When you share a calendar, others can see it, and you can let them add or change events. You can also share a read-only version that anyone can view.
Create an iCloud calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap Add Calendar in the iCloud section.
Share an iCloud calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap the iCloud calendar you want to share. Tap Add Person, then enter a name, or tap to browse your Contacts. Those you invite receive an email invitation to join the calendar, but they need an iCloud account in order to accept.
Change a person’s access to a shared calendar. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, tap the shared calendar, then tap the person. You can turn off their ability to edit the calendar, resend the invitation to join the calendar, or stop sharing the calendar with them.
Turn off notifications for shared calendars. When someone modifies a shared calendar, you’re notified of the change. To turn off notifications for shared calendars, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Shared Calendar Alerts.
Share a read-only calendar with anyone. Tap Calendars, tap Edit, then tap the iCloud calendar you want to share. Turn on Public Calendar, then tap Share Link to copy or send the URL for your calendar. Anyone can use the URL to subscribe to the calendar using a compatible app.

Calendar server management

I'm knowning about the calendarserver_* commands.
I can backup and restore the entire calendar server. Can I restore calendars of one user only?
Deleting a user in Serveradmin does not delete its calendars (I tested it).
How do I delete orphaned calendars of not existent users? If I know its GUID, I can delete
the calendars and events with calendarserver_purge_principals. But what can I do, if
I don't know the old GUIDs?

Office365 shared calendars are not recognized in win7

Dear all,
this is my experience.... I have to share the calendars with write permissions for some my colleagues, all of them have windows 7 installed and recently Office365.
I have shared their calendar giving write permission to the reception account. When I see their shared calendars from the receptionist's outlook client, no permissions are visible but they are correctly set in the respective Web App of the same account.
If I install the same account in outlook with Windows 8 everything works fine.
who can help me to solve the problem with Windows 7?

Does the issue happen to all your Windows 7 users who is shared calendar? Are Outlook clients the same version in all problematic Windows machines? Please double check the calendar permission is set to Editor in the shared calendar.
Confirm if the shared calendar can be viewed in OWA. If the issue doesn’t happen in OWA and Outlook in Windows 8 but only in Windows 7, please change another new clean Windows 7 client with Outlook 365 to check whether the issue persists.
If the issue doesn’t happen in new Windows 7 machine, please disable any third-party mail program in old machines and create new Windows profile to have a try.

I have another question:
The new multi-user Calendar-view is great - but we have one thing, which
is confusing to our users:
User A has a shared calendar (the owner of this shared calendar is User
B). It is clear, that User A can see appointments of this shared
calendar in his "main Calendar" if this shared calendar is "enabled".
But User A cannot see the calendar items of this foreign shared
calendar, if he changes to the new multi-user - view.
Does this work as designed or is it a bug?

Does User A also have read proxy rights to User B's calendar?

Convergence and Calendar Server 6.3

Good Morning,
We are in the process of looking at upgrading to Convergence 2.0. We are still running Calendar Server 6.3. From looking at the wiki page: https://wikis.oracle.com/display/CommSuite/Convergence+Patches+by+Release
It appears that I can install Convergence 2 Patch 2 and still be compatible with Calendar Server 6.3. Is that correct?
We need to get upgraded so that we have the support for newer versions of IE and to get our customization done before looking to upgrade to Calendar Server 7.

Yes, Calendar 6.3 (patch -44 or higher) is compatible with Convergence 2.

Shared calendar problems on Sun Outlook Sync

I'm having a few problems with Sun Outook sync ver 7.2.402.1
In Outlook 2003, clicking the calendar icon at the bottom of the left pane, displays the calendar view. Within that calendar view, clicking �Open a Shared Calendar� displays a dialog that allows the user to enter the user name of a shared calendar. When the user name of a known shared calendar is entered, the error �Unable to display the folder. Your profile is not configured to support this operation for this user.� is displayed. This occurs also with contacts and tasks.
I am running Windows XP sp2 (fully patched)
Outlook 2003 sp2 (fully patched)
Sun Outook sync ver 7.2.402.1

This is supposedly a Outlook 2003 only issue although I haven't confirmed this.
