OWA iOS App Offline Access

We have a new install of Exchange 2013 and want to restrict offline access to
mailboxes. We have configured Organization Policy Controls to disabled offline
use by running:
Set-OwaMailboxPolicy –AllowOfflineOn NoComputers
Set-OwaVirtualDirectory –AllowOfflineOn NoComputers
This does not
have any impact on the OWA App from the Apple AppStore as users can still open
mail in their mailboxes whilst offline.
Is there anyway of stopping
this?
Thanks

Hi,
Does the issue happen in OWA for Windows? Is the OWA offline access disabled in computer client?
Please follow the suggestion above to restart IIS service. And remove the app(OWA for iphone and OWA for ipad) from your device and clear all cache. Then reinstall the app back and check whether the issue persists.
Thanks,
Winnie Liang

  • Why isn't there an iOS app to access a Time Capsule?

Synology has apps to access their NAS systems. Wouldn't it make sense for Apple to have an app for Apple iOS devices to connect to Apple Time Capsules?

It would, if Apple wanted you to do this. But, they don't, since there would already be an Apple App for this if they did. I assume that you already know about FileBrowser here, which is not an Apple App.
So you might want to tell Apple what you want, rather than have them tell you what you want.

Why isn't there an iOS app to access a Time Capsule?
The bottom line here is that "Why" questions can only be answered by Apple. Only they know the "Why" about anything.
If you happen to be asking about a non-Apple App, and do not know about FileBrowser, you might want to take a look.

  • "no access to the digital certificate" - Trying to export my first iOS app from Flash - Help please

    Hello
I'm trying to export my first iOS app from flash to my desktop / on the device (Flash Pro CC, Iphone5)
I followed the instructions on the adobe website to build an air app for iOS but on the last step it
    doesn't export the app.
    What I've done so far:
    - Apple developer account
    - creating the certificate + convert it to .p12
    - app ID / Name etc.
    - creating the provisioning profile from apple
    - iOS Air app in flash (Only Text "Hello world" with a tween)
Now i have to load the certificates into Flash & enter a password (is it the password that
i entered in the certificate or from my developer account/ Apple ID password? Both didn't work at the end)
When i klick on publish in the last step than it loads a while but then i get the Error:
"no access to the digital certificate"
What is wrong? Can you help me please.

Also, I should say, when I go into my phone on the computer and try to install an app, I get this message:
Unable to start operation. Installer is already in use.
    Any ideas

  • What iOS apps access PDF files in the cloud?

I know Goodreader sees the cloud. What other iOS apps can see PDF files in the apple cloud?

    thelittletoad wrote:

The cloud is not really a single thing remember.  Cloud computing and cloud storage are just generic terms for distributed computing and/or storage on a network accessable service.  There are many "cloud" storage options:
    iCloud
    Dropbox
    Box.net
    SugarSync
    4Shared
    Google Drive
    Skydrive
...and the list goes on growing every day
Many apps, like Goodreader, will work with some, many or all of these, ONCE you configure your account settings in the app itself. So you can create an account with whichever service or services you wish to use, and then start using that account to move your files to and from any and all apps that allow a connection to that service.
I use box.net primarily to store my pdf files, and I then connect to them from GoodReader, PDF Expert or iAnnotate, not to mention QuickOffice, or Goodnotes, or Documents by Readdle or whatever app I choose to read/edit/markup the pdf in.
You will need to download the pdf into each and every app you wish to use it in on the iPad, as with a few exceptions, apps cannot share content.  That's why you use the cloud (meaning nothing more than, online) storage as your master location for your documents.

  • Is there any downside mixing Objective-C with C++ for iOS apps?

I'd like to use C++ since it's fast and more dynamically in memory reference.
Is there any downside mixing Objective-C with C++ for iOS apps?
When googled for info, I only found tutorials about how to let xcode compile Objective-C with C++.
    Thanks for help.

Both Objective-C and C++ are (more or less) extensions of C.
C supports manipulation of pointers and casting of pointers, this implies that both Objective-C and C++ will be able to manipulate C data like arrays, structs ...
Objective-C has classes like NSData to read/write blocks of bytes from/to file and to access ranges of bytes when the data is loaded into memory.
C++ probably has similar classes (I'm not well versed in C++ so I don't know).
If you want to look into using C++ you will probably want to look at Objective-C++, the link below has links to docs on how to use C++ with Objective-C:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3684112/what-is-objective-c
Thanks for the info, NSData does what I need.
A replied in the link also mentioned that he's using C++ in his application too. As long as I'm aware of memory management (prevent memory leaks, etc) as @disguise said, it should be fine.
@etresoft indeed, but C is the base language of ObjC, there are ways to deal with.

  • Adobe Air + Box2D.swc = TypeError: Error #1009 // New way to handle .swc files in Flash for iOS Apps?

    Hi,
I need your help please - I have to update one of my iOS Apps. In this App I use Box2d for a simple maze game (it's an app for kids). When I publish & test this game on my Mac it works fine. I can drag my Hero (fish) through this Maze and all collision detections, gravity etc. work perfect.
When I test it on my iPad it doesn't work. The device debugger shows this error message:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

I guess "CLibInit" should come from the .swc file.
    The thing is:
I didn't change anything in this maze game - it seems this has to do something with the new Flash and/or Adobe Air version. Box2D.swc file is included:
It always worked like this - and it works when testing it on my Mac - but it is no longer working on my current system.
So I started my Mac from an older system (10.9.5 on an external HD) and published the App from Flash CS6 and Adobe Air 13.0 - then it suddenly worked on my iPad as before. I was able to tap an the fish and drag it arround.
The same project / app published from my current OS X 10.10 + Flash CC 2014 + Adobe Air 15.0.0.302 is not working. I always receive this Error Message - I can not drag the fish - nothing happens. And I have no idea why this happens and what else I could do. I searched the whole day for a solution but didn't find anything.
So did anything change by the way Flash and/or Air handles .swc files? Is there an other way to include: import cmodule.Box2D.* / CLibInit ?
Please - if anyone has a clue - please let me know!!
    Best regards
    Jan

    Update:
There is also an Android Version of this App. I just published and tested a new version of it on my kindle fire & Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. On both Tablets the maze works perfect. I'm able to drag the fish around etc.
Then I published this Android Version for iOS and tested it on my iPad. Again I'm getting the Error message:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

...and the fish is stuck - I can't drag it - nothing happens. So this error only occurs when I publish the App for iOS - as an .ipa. Did anything change in the way Air handles .swc files?
    I'm totally confused

  • Creating an iOS App with File Sharing Activated

From what I can decipher, the only way for a user to retrieve a document created by an iOS app is through iTunes, but only if the app has file sharing activated.
Is there a way to create an iOS app in Flash CS5.5 and make it a file sharing app?

I used the following code for sharing files to documents directory, and it works just fine. I am able to access the files copied by the app.

                        var dest:File = File.documentsDirectory.resolvePath("copy.swf");
                        file.copyTo(dest, true);

  • Drag Files from iTunes to iOS apps disappeared

I'm using iTunes 12.0, iOS 8.1.1, and Windows 8.1.  Previously when my iPad was attached to the computer via USB there was a panel in iTunes that would allow me to access files on the computer and copy them to the iOS apps on my iPad which supported this feature.  Now I can't find this function in iTunes.  So how do I transfer large files to my iPad now?

If you are talking about File Sharing, it is still there. You have to scroll down far enough in the Apps Tab of iTunes in order to get to the File Sharing Apps. Once you scroll down and find the app that you want to transfer the files to, click on the app icon and the file sharing window will show all of the files in the window on the right.

  • Sleep Timer Feature in iTunes via Remote iOS app

I'm not sure this is the venue for this, but I would like the "Remote" iOS app (currently version 3.0.1) to let me set a "sleep timer" when I play a radio station on my iMac iTunes 11. I think this means iTunes must first have a "sleep timer" feature built-in before the Remote app can use it. There have been third-party "sleep timer" add-ons for YEARS, and yet Apple has not deemed it necessary to add the feature into iTunes. Unfortunately, these third-party add-ons cannot be accessed via the Remote app.
    Anyone here found a work-around?

ok so the remote app is grouping all my album artists together under one Artist name: "various artists"

  • Database in iOS App

    Hi,
I'm trying to develop an iOS app but I'm not sure of what's the best option to store and manage data.
My starting point is a MySQL database; I've already written the code to access my database (using PHP) and perform some analysis on the stored data. E.g., I've tables to store user infos, for bank transactions, and so on; I can see the list of the transactions for a single user, categorize the transactions, ecc.
This works well for a browser but I'd like to repeat the exercise with an App (iOS for now and OS X later).
Even if I know about object oriented programming (I work using C++), I'm new to Object-C and this is my first App so I still have to learn a lot about XCode, iOS SDK and other stuff.
    Now my question:
what's the easiest way to reproduce my data structure?
Googling a bit I've seen that the two most used approaches are to manage data through SQLite or Core Data. Both these options are not directly compatible with the DB I already have; this means that portability becomes another important variable if I want to develop for different frameworks.
Thanks in advance for any suggestion! I will really appreciate if you could also point me to tutorials or guides regarding this topic.
    Bye...

    TShirt wrote:
1 - Why do you suggest Core Data istead of SQLite3 ?
Because using native SQLite is a roll-your-own approach. Sometimes that is a good idea. I had an app that used native SQLite to access a pre-built database. Using Core Data for that is overkill and not necessary.
However, if this is data that you plan to update within the app, that is different. You would have to do a lot of work to manage your data and manage your tables. You can certainly do that, but then if you want advance your app and move into iCloud, you will have to re-do it all.
Core Data is written from a programmer perspective, not a database perspective. If you are thinking in terms of a database then it seems silly to go through all the hassle. But once you are writing your software and interacting with the user interface, it is much easier to deal with data as objects with built-in relations to other objects. Core Data is a lot of effort for a small project, but once accomplished, it will scale easily and with far less effort on your part.
    2 - Why "Be patient" ? It's hard to implement what I need ?
Core Data is just difficult conceptually if you are used to working databases natively. In my example above where I used SQLite natively, I had an ulterior motive - I didn't understand Core Data. I still don't fully understand it because I haven't had time to work with it. But I'm making progress. I have made enough progress that I can definitely assure you that thinking from a database perspective is just going to hold you back. That perspective is easier to understand conceptually than Core Data, but harder to get a working, real-world app. That is, of course, the ultimate goal.
