OWB 11,2 Import result

Hello all.
I created a new MYSQL platform using tcl script. After that, I looking at Import Result Wizard and see a strange error:
A first table was imported with out any error, but follows... At action label I see a next message: Created with Second Class Object Failure.
When I open this branch (For example, Items - Constraints) I see a next error description: Createion failded (name alredy exist).
As I understood the main problem in PRIMARY name. After import all Constrains have a PRIMARY name, how it fixed?
Help me please

Hi
All the keys are returned with the primary key name as PRIMARY and that's what is breaking the OWB namespace rules, the only thing is to import one at a time (which sucks) or write a simple java custom import. if you want to proceed with that let me know, its a little work but would basically create names for the pks and return those rather than the name PRIMARY. You have to trick up the fks also to refer to these different names.
Cheers

  • OWB error message - Import service related

    Hi,
    I get this message when I try to use the Import Metadata wizard in OWB - 11.
    Import service failed when try to make connection to the metadata location and got the following error:java.lang.NullPointerException .
    I have also registered the user and tested the corresponding user connection.
    Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I have got this issue resolved by installing the Oracle 11 E-Edition . Guess that's the only way this can be resolved. As though the Personal edition offers most of the Enterprise Edition options , including OLAP , there is an issue when owb queries the v$version view of the personal edition (searches for 'Oracle%' and does not get a result) due to which this error arises.
    If there are any other alternate approaches , do suggest for the common good.
    Many thanks.

  • Aperture importing Results in System Crash

    Launch Aperture 3, create new library, create a handful of Project names, start importing photos into Projects. Generates a system crash after about 150 photos imported resulting in system rebooting with Question Folder in center display.
    I have been running Aperture 2 for well over 18 months with great results on a 4gb iMac 3.0.6G 1 TB system, 32 bit mode, Aperture library on internal boot drive, no external referenced files.
    With a few days after installing Aperture 3, major problems began:
    1. Thumbnail photos did not match the photo titles, clicking on thumbnail displayed yet a different photo. Some Projects, Albums appears just fine, but others gave every increasing problems. Some previously fine thumbnails now appear as moving vertical lines. Files sizes enormous. Very unstable.
    2. Performing Command+Option on launch and selecting repair database resulted in over 7000+ plus photos in recovery folders. After spending 5 days performing tasks like: A.)Verifying and Repair the HD, b.) Repairing Permissions, Repairing the database, c.) Finally exporting every possible Master for safe keeping (a monumental task).
    3. Starting over from scratch with volumes of duplicate photo files (some from export, some from recovery folders, etc. just to be sure nothing is lost (and I have no way to be sure).
    4. Re-installed Aperture 3, ran software upgrade to ensure I have the latest 3.0.1 version. Turned off Face detection and created new library on the boot drive.
    5. Stopped using Aperture 3 (for over a week) with no system problems.
    6. Hand verified several hundred RAW Nikon image files using preview, Photoshop -all view and appear fine. Now I will attempt to import these same RAW image files into Aperture 3 as a test.
    6. Started using Aperture 3 - and within 30 minutes my system is down again - so I called Apple support. Very frustrated. 2 Crashes within 1 hour. Hung during importing, dial at the 7 o'clock position, Finder locked unable to Shutdown waiting for crash to prevent causing more problems.
    7. I need to give time for Apple to correct these Aperture problems. How could this major upgrade go out from Apple without extensive testing?
    Other suggestions?

    I have the same problem with my ipad with ios 7.1, there aren't other updates for ios, so how can i resolve the problem? Every time that i try to desabling the sim pin the system crash and the settings app closes
    Thanks

  • Export the EPMA "Import Results" as a file?

    The Log Console exports deployment logs as files but the "Import Results" of an import profile can only be viewed within EPMA. Is there a way to export these "Import Results" as a file?

    As far as I am aware that is not default functionality.

  • OWB R2 / Paris: importing source metadata (tables) results in LONG error

    Hello,
    Ik hope anyone knows a solution to this, as I can't find anything on OTN, Metalink and google...
    When I create a new module to function as 'source' for my datawarehouse I try to import the table definitions from this schema using the import wizard. The wizard lists the correct tables, views etc. But when I select a table to import as metadata I get the following error: Repository Error Message: ORA-00997: illegal use of LONG datatype.
    Odd enough; functions do import.
    I've tried recreating the metadata repository and different source schema's to no avail. Even re-importing a target table doesn't work. Besides that, everything works just fine but there are too many source tables to manually insert.
    Please help!

  • Is this a bug in OWB 11.2 - importing table metadata for character columns

    The Oracle® Warehouse Builder Data Modeling, ETL, and Data Quality Guide provides an overview of the data types supported.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/owb.112/e10935/orcl_data_objx.htm
    It says that for VARCHAR2 data type it saws (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/owb.112/e10935/orcl_data_objx.htm#CHDFIADI )
    "Stores variable-length character data. How the data is represented internally depends on the database character set. The VARCHAR2 data type takes a required parameter that specifies a maximum size up to 4,000 characters"
    That means , I guess, it says that when I import a table, any columns of type VARCHAR2(10) in the database should have its length show as characters in OWB, so a column of type Varchar2(10) in the Oracle database, should be shown as Varchar2(10) when imported into OWB table metadata via the OWB import function.
    However, if I have a database that set-up as a single-byte and import a table using the OWB import function a column that has a size of e.g. 10 in the database, is imported as OWB table metadata and the size is 10. Correct, I am happy.
    However, if the database is modified to support multi-byte characters, ALTUF16 encoding with the semantics set to "CHAR", then when I import the same table into OWB, OWB reports the size as 40, I guess its 40 bytes as in 10 characters @ 4 bytes per character.
    Is this a bug in OWB, as the datatype in the Oracle DB is varchar2(10), should OWB after importing a table not also report the column as VARCHAR2(10) ? Currently, is shows the column as varchar2(40).

    I noticed that myself in our project.
    Our varchars2 are defined as VARCHAR2(xxx CHAR) - OWB puts the size*4
    In fact if you have special characters like umlauts (ü,ä,ö,...) it will use 4 bytes per character.
    You can try it yourself. Define a Varchar2(1 CHAR) and manually change the size of the Column in your mapping inside OWB (in filters, joins or your target table).
    Then shoot an umlaut through the mapping and will end up with a "too small" error.
    Dont mind the size*4 issue - we totally ignored it and run without error since 4 years now.

  • OWB Can't Import Existing Package with Collection Data Type as Arguments

    I created a package and compiled it successfully as the follows:
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE PACKAGE_TEST AS
    TYPE Num_LIST IS TABLE of NUMBER INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
    FUNCTION TEST_FUNCTION1 ( arg1 NUMBER, arg2 NUMBER) RETURN NUMBER;
    FUNCTION TEST_FUNCTION2 ( args NUM_LIST) RETURN NUMBER;
    END PACKAGE_TEST;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY PACKAGE_TEST AS
    FUNCTION TEST_FUNCTION1 ( arg1 NUMBER, arg2 NUMBER) RETURN NUMBER IS
    ln_sum NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    ln_sum := arg1 + arg2;
         RETURN ln_sum;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    RETURN -10000;
    END TEST_FUNCTION1;
    FUNCTION TEST_FUNCTION2 ( args NUM_LIST) RETURN NUMBER IS
         ln_sum NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    ln_sum :=0;
         FOR i IN 1.. args.COUNT LOOP
         ln_sum := ln_sum + args( i );
         END LOOP;
         RETURN ln_sum;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    RETURN -10000;
    END TEST_FUNCTION2;
    END PACKAGE_TEST;
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Then I tried to import the package into OWB (9.2). The problem came: all the package body and
    the specification of TEST_FUNCTION1 were imported, but the package specification of
    TEST_FUNCTION2 couldn't be imported. The IMPORT FILTER gave an error message:
    "TEST_FUNCTION2: Argument Data type is not supported".
    How to resolve this problem? It is very import for our project, since we have to import some
    packages with user_defined collection data types as arguments.
    Thank you.
    Lushu

    Hi Lushu,
    Unfortunately this is indeed not supported and I would not know how to work around this one. The only way I guess that this would work is to not import it, and then use Expressions to call the function with inputs.

  • Reject columns which exceed a particular length during OWB flat file import

    Hi,
    I have a file in csv format. This file has a lot of columns out of which i need to use only a few. I created a file in OWB using the given csv file using the file import wizard. I am using this file to create an external table.
    The import is working fine, But the problem is that certain columns (which are not required to be processed) have very huge data. This is leading to rejection of certain rows (when i deploy the external table) which have valid data for the required columns, but too huge data was columns which i do not need.
    But these rows must not be rejected.
    I wanted to know if there any way by which we can truncate/ insert null in these unwanted columns (either during flat file import / or during creation of external table), so that the row is taken in partially(with the wanted columns)?
    Thanks a lot!
    NS

    Hi Julie,
    As Jim posted, you could try a RAW file instead of a CSV file. In SSIS, the Raw File destination writes raw data to a file. Because the format of the data is native to the destination, the data requires no translation and little parsing. So does the Raw
    File source. Besides, the Raw File destination/source can improve the package performance because they write data more quickly than other destinations such as the Flat File, the OLE DB, and Recordset destinations.

    Hi,
    We are researching your issue. Please clarify my question with detailed information:
    1. Do you get the error in your first post when you click ‘Download report’ after you run load test from
    Visual Studio 2013 on
    team foundation service?
    2 You said that ‘I am trying to import the test results into a Visual Studio 2012 (Update 3) on-prem instance’, what and where is
    your load test result repository? A SQL Server database or the default database:LoadTest2010 in SQL Express on the same machine with Visual Studio 2013?
    3 Whether you specify the load test result repository under Load Test->Manage Test Controller?
    4. What error do you get? Please provide us more detailed information about the error message or share us with a screenshot.
    5 Whether you can run the load test successfully locally and get the load test result with the same load test result database?
    6 You said that your co-worker can work fine. Please check whether your account has enough permissions for load test result database and download load test result from TFS to load test result database based on the account

  • OWB - issue in import

    hi,
    When i do an export of an OWB mapping having a MERGE statement to an .mdl file and import to another OWB repository, some of the columns are missing in the MERGE staement. I am using OWB 10g R2.
    Eg: if the MERGE is based on columns c1, c2, c3 after the export-import the mapping to a different environment the imported mapping is having the MERGE based on only c1
    Please let me know if any one know how to solve this
    Thanks

    There is Bug 5705198: LOADING PROPERTIES CHANGED AFTER MDL EXPORT/IMPORT (fixed in 10.2.0.4 OWB patchset), similar problem with lost MATCH COLUMN WHEN UPDATING ROW property during MDL import.
    Maybe it is your case.
    There is not workaround for this problem, only patching to OWB 10.2.0.4

  • Catalog import resulted in two folder images

    Hi,
    I imported a catalog from my laptop into a catalog that I have on an external hard drive. This has now resulted in two images of the external drive under the folder list in the Library view.
    You can see there are two folders called Oxford (which is my external drive). The first contains the images from the catalog that was originally on the external hard drive. The second one contains all the imported photos.
    The directories under Oxford are correctly visible when I browse to them on the computer.
    Anyone knows what is going on? And how can I merge them?
    Thanks
    Vinay

    Vinay,
    Before proceeding, please take a backup of your catalog.
    Then, you can try this:
    Find out which drive entry gets populated by doing normal imports (test-import an image and see where it's put)
    Under the other drive
    Right-click the top-level folder(s) and choose "Update Folder Location"
    Point to the folder on your external drive
    Confirm an eventual merge-warning
    This should merge your two drive entries in the folder panel.

  • Converting MOV Files for import results in loss of sound

    I have some .mov files which will not directly import into iMovie 08. I believe this is because they were created using "save as..." from QT Pro, with an original file format of .mpg w/muxed audio.
    I am now converting the .mov files using the "export..."comand from QT Pro. iMovie is recognising the results, weather it is .DV Stream, .Mp4, or even a true .mov file. The problem, every time I convert from the original .mov I loose the clips audio. Is this a side effect of converting a vid clip with muxed audio or am I doing something wrong?
    Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

    QuickTime can't extract audio from muxed file formats. Don't use it.
    MPEG Streamclip (free) can export to QuickTime formats with the audio. Use it.

    You also appear to be trying to reinvent the wheel, as all of these types are already defined in Oracle Spatial.
