OWB object creation/import error

I installed OWB for evaluation on Windows XP.
OWB version is 10.1.0.4 and the database is 10g release 2.
While trying to create a target or trying to import source table, owb fails with
a "NULL" error. The detailed error is given below, pls help.

The cause of the problem is the existence of public synonyms pointing to the java tables.
CREATE$JAVA$LOB$TABLE and/or JAVA$CLASS$MD5$TABLE
The presence of the Public synonyms prevents the Runtime Assistant from creating new tables. This can be verified from sqlplus, connected as the sys user:

Xdb_installation_trigger does not support object creation of type SNAPSHOT

hi everyone, i'm using Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit on solaris sparc 5.10
we like to send an email through SSL, and after searching here and there I found out that oracle DB 11g able to go throught the SSL.
since upgrade our DB to 11g would not be an option, so i tried to export XDB of 11g and import it into XDB 10gR2 schema, it was a mess...
then i just reinstall XDB using catnoqm.sql & catqm.sql
and now one of our programmer cant run some script like above

i'm so careless, after checking a fresh installation of the same version DB, i dont found xdb_installation_trigger.
so just by simply remove that trigger & everything works just fine. :)

Is it possible to restrict the object creation for stateless session beans

Hi,
Is it possible to restrict/fix the ejb object creation for stateless session beans in application server?
For example, i want to configure the application server ( am using JBOSS ) to create maximum of 10 session bean objects. and if any requests for the stateless session bean come, as application server has created 10 objects, the requests should be blocked.

You can keep a counter in the application code. A static var won't work, but an entity and a consistent id should. This version would affect performance, but it would be portable to other app servers.

"Template import error: No VM configure file found" on brand new setup

Previously, I posted Console does not launch OVM 3.1.1, Win7x32 Firefox15/IE8 - Empty .jnlp file which was about VM Console not launching. Since this is a new installation, and it seemed to be a unique problem, I scratched the whole installation and started again from scratch. Everything, including the NFS file server, was re-installed from scratch CD OS installation.
The process is pretty straightforward once you're used to it, and in less than three hours I was ready again to import my first template (a template I had imported before). But now, I submit the the request, and almost immediately the process aborts. (You can see in the information below, that 1 second passes between the Import request (06:32:36) and the failure.)
Thing is, it takes about three minutes, even locally on the web server, to get an index of that large file (tar tzf), and at completion, the vm config file is listed.
Am I misreading the error? My web searches for enlightenment found only one good hit on this error, and in that case it appeared to be an "out of space" issue. In this case, though, I'm importing a 5GB tarfile into a 390GB, otherwise-empty file system, so I don't think that is the issue. The failure in ovs-agent.log is below. What other information may I provide to get to the bottom of this? (Thanks for any guidance/help, of course!)

How did you get the template to where you staged it?
I'd say the template is corrupt or you only have a partial template.
I did notice the call to the template is based on the short name of the host. Can you confirm the VM manager can access the http path via short name?

Object in import-file header does not correspond to the migration object

Hi Forum,
I have loaded Business partner successfully with the file created in Workbench with test data.
Now I want to load the data from Application server. But i am getting the error
"Object in import-file header does not correspond to the migration object".
I have read that the import file should have 3 types of record
1. Header record corrs to the structure TEMINFO
2. Actual data records
3. Final record for individual object.
I am not sure where I am making a mistake
my files header looks like
<004F><Space><&INFO><Company><Migration Object><User><Date><Time>

I am assuming you are in transaction EMIGIMP loading a converted migration file for import, correct?
If so, you should be able to read the company, mig. object, user name, etc. in the import file tab overview. If conversion did not work correctly, this info will not display here.
It is possible you are missing some data in the header, or spacing is not correct. Are you converting the input file with program REMIG_FILE_TRANSFORM or are you trying to create the migration file yourself?

Import error due to character set difference?

hoping anyone to explain reason for the following import error.
here's the situation,
- export client used WE8MSWIN1252 charset (release v10.02.01)
- import server used WE8ISO8859P1 charset (release v10.1.0.4)
all tables appeared to be imported without error, except that import terminated unsuccesfully due to oracle error 2248

It is difficult to say what is the current state of the database, so it is recommended to reexport and reimport the object definitions. You may miss some other stuff like object types, contraints, etc. Table data should be OK, so reexport should not include data.
As far as character sets are concerned, because of the difference between the export client character set and the import server character set, you may have lost some characters in the code range 0x80-0x9f. This includes Euro sign, TM, sign, "smart" quotes, en- and em-dash, etc. Use the Windows charmap.exe to see all the codes. If you have some of these codes in the source database, you have lost them on import (they got converted to the reverse quotation mark code 0xbf).

you can import the stats with importing objects , you can pass parameter STATISTICS =none ( do not import the stats).
STATISTICS -- import precomputed statistics (always)

Pagegroup import error message

How do I troubleshoot this pagegroup import error message

What I'm trying to do is migrate a new pagegroup into a target site. I've gone through the process and added all of the external objects to to transport site.

What is the red x refering to that you reference? I'm currently having the problem that you describe. The local provider imported successfully, but the page group I was trying to import failed to import.

but whenever i write statement "Create object", it gives error.
'm working on SAP Dev 4.7.
the code was like this:-

OWB Repository creation failed at the end with ORA-01403 & ORA-06512

I got the below error during the OWB Repository Creation on RAC Database which is newly created(11.2.0.3)

Oracle 8i Lite: Command Object Creation Failed

Hi Everyone,
I use Windows XP everything works except navigator and I get the message that Command Object Creation Failed
Does Anyone know how to fix this and I have to use 8i Lite as it for a school database project

Hi. I know this response is too many years late, but I'm putting it in case someone (like me a few days ago) needs to connect to a legacy server using legacy tools:
This error is caused by the installer, sometimes it does not adequately register the OLE/COM objects provided in nav8cmd.dll
So, to correct it:
- open a command window
- change to the directory where the navigator program files reside (In my case c:\orant\bin)
- type the following command: regsvr32 nav8cmd.dll
You should receive a message that the DLL was correctly registered. After that you can use the navigator without problems.

Aborting new object creation

I want to test the input parameters to a constructor and determine if an invalid parameter has been supplied.
If I use:
Thingy myThingy = new Thingy("invalid value");
is it up to the programmer of the above to catch the error, either through exception handling or some other form of error checking, and perform
myThingy = null;
to render the partially initialized object ready for garbage collection?
Is there a way in the constructor itself to indicate that the object shouldn't be created and null should be returned as the result of the "new" operation?

But I'd say Clem1986 still has a point. Even in the constructor
Foo() throws Exception {

}there's the implicit call to super() and instance initializers before you arrive at throw. From JVM spec: The new instruction does not completely create a new instance; instance creation is not completed until an instance initialization method has been invoked on the uninitialized instance. Which is done above. Whether this qualifies in OP's context as completing instance creation or instantiating an object I don't know. But you could work with it in the constructor, and once you get to throw, memory has been allocated, all superclasses have been initialized (which might involve heavy allocation/computation), default values were assigned to fields and instance initializers have executed. Only now can you decide to "abort new object creation" by completing abruptly and not "returning" the reference to the newly-(partially-)created object to the caller.
