P_GROUP Field in S_DEVELP Object?

Hi Experts,
When user needs a S_DEVELOP Object,provides the SU53 with P_Group as <dummy>.We also provides the user with S_Develop with P_GROUP as blank.Even P_GROUP field is blank, user is able to work.Then what is the purpose of P_Group field in S_Develop?
Kindly help me.
When I searched in Internet,I am not able to get enough information about P_GROUP field on S_DEVELOP Object.
Regards,
Karthika

p_group in s_program is used for submitting the report, protecting variant maintenance, scheduling it in a background jobstep, etc. So, it is for using the report.
p_group in s_develop is used for the development environment of the report, such as maintaining text elements, navigation in where-used-lists, changing the report attributes - which include the authorization group itself.
If an auth group has been set via report RSCSAUTH, then it implies an intention to use it for S_PROGRAM control in SA38, SM37, etc. S_DEVELOP works better using packages and object types in my opinion.
If you attempt to change the auth group via SE38, SE80 etc when it has already been set from RSCSAUTH, then the system will warn you. But you can accept the warning and create an inconsistency for a while... rather always use RSCSAUTH for both when making changes.
S_PROGRAM is more usefull for you to use the group in security, but S_DEVELOP is stronger. Please be carefully with all aspects of object S_DEVELOP.
Cheers,
Julius

  • Can't add database field or text object to a report (new and existing)

    We have Crystal Report 8.5 and when trying to modify an existing report or create a new report, I can't seem to add any database fields or text objects in my report.  I get a prohibition symbol (circle with a backslash inside it) when I hover over the report.  Has anyone encoutered something like this? Any suggestions?  Thank you.

    Do you have two monitors?
    I had this problem if I tried to open crystal in the second monitor, move it back to primary monitor and it should be OK.

  • User defined fields in Resource object; Resource object form

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me what is the purpose of having user defined fields for resource object and resource object form and how can we use those fields while requesting for target resource.
    Regards,
    Alabhya Goel

    Thanks for your reply!!!!!!!!!!
    I know about resource object form i am just asking what is the use of user define field in resource object form. How can we use it. Like when we create any user defined field in under User form those fields display on create user form but when we create any user defined field in resource object from those are not displayed in form.
    If anyone has used or worked on user defined fields in Resource Object or resource object form; please give me an overview over the same.

  • [ORA-22905] How to read a field of an object inside another object?

    Greetings,
    I'm a student and in a current exercise we have to work with the Object Oriented Programming functionality of Oracle.
    In the database we defined an object type, which is then considered inside another object type. The thing is, that I cannot read an attribute of the inner object. I've read tens of websites but none of them have helped so far. I've read the PL/SQL User Guide and Reference document also.
    The inner object is defined as follows:
    create type address_t as object (
            street varchar(50),
            city varchar(50),
            pcode number(5,0)
            );The outer object has an object of type address_t inside it:
    CREATE TYPE professor_t as OBJECT(
              code number(2),
              p_name varchar(50),
              address address_t,
              );Also, there is a table named PROFESSORS that stores objects of type professor_t
    First of all, with a simple testing SQL statement I can see the data inside the object professor, even the object address_t:
    SELECT * FROM PROFESSORS WHERE CODE = 13;returns the following:
    CODE    |         NAME      |       ADDRESS
    13      |         JOHN     |       MYSCHEMA.ADDRESS_T('FIFTH AVENUE','NEW YORK',12345)The thing is, I want to read the field street of the object address (of type address_t) inside professor (of type professor_t).
    I could see everywhere that the way to go is to use point notation, and I've seen examples about the command VALUE, but none of the following SQL statements work:
    SELECT VALUE(ADDRESS.STREET) FROM(
      SELECT CODE,P_NAME,ADDRESS FROM PROFESSORS WHERE CODE = 13);
    SELECT ADDRESS.STREET FROM PROFESSORS WHERE CODE = 13;
    SELECT PROFESSOR.ADDRESS.STREET FROM PROFESSORS WHERE CODE = 13;I'd really appreciate if someone could show me how to access the values of the field of the object inside an object.
    Thanks in advance,
    - David

    Great, this worked so far.
    It is curious that you wrote 'profesores' but that is the actual name for the variable. I translated everything to english in order to post it here.
    So, the statement is:
    select value(t).DIRECCION.CIUDAD from profesores t;And It returned:
    VALUE(T).DIRECCION.CIUDAD
    Valencia
    New York
    TijuanaAnd, applying the VALUE command to the statement:
    select codigo,
    nombre,
    value(t).DIRECCION.CALLE,
    value(t).DIRECCION.CIUDAD,
    value(t).DIRECCION.CP
    from profesores T WHERE T.CODIGO = 13;Resulting in:
    CODIGO                 NOMBRE                                             VALUE(T).DIRECCION.CALLE                           VALUE(T).DIRECCION.CIUDAD                          VALUE(T).DIRECCION.CP
    13                     Pepito Pérez                                       Calle de los Rosales 0                           Valencia                                           46023                  That is EXACTLY what I needed.
    Thanks Thomas, It was really helpful !

  • Adobe Form - Path of the context field from the object pallate

    Hi,
    I am trying to modify the standard adobe(MR_PRINT_INSERS) form as per the requirement.
    There are many tables and fields in the context.
    I want to know the path to which the the UI elements(library pallate) are binded.
    I can see the field name in object pallate but the place from where that object is taken is not shown.
    For Eg: I can see the field WRBTR in the object pallate of the text UI element of library pallate but I couldnot figure it out from which table of context they are reffering, as their are many tables in the context which have WRBTR.
    Can you please let me know how to figure out exact path to which table the field is binded.
    Thanks & Regards,
    kiran Kumar K

    Hi Tamas,
    I checked the mentioned form and, as this table is setted as TABLEROW and some of its cells are static, is not possible to change the column size in the layout or even though changing it directly in the XML file, cell by cell. I was trying it.
    For example, choose the Cell6 of TABLEROW[0] and click on tab 'XML Source'. You will see this statement:
    <draw colSpan="3" h="16.3166mm" name="Cell7" w="22.225mm">
    You can try to change the value 'colSpan' according to your requirement.
    This table size is not modifiable because it was developed to it.
    I believe that Diego's suggestion can help in this case, if you are having problems to print the entire table on the page.

  • Please tell me how I can set an array field to an object?

    Hi,
    Please tell me how I can set the plID (an array field) to an object? This result is for one Agent object. Suppose the Agent object only has these two fields.
    If a sql query result is something like this (which is one object).
    agent_last PLID
    smith      5
    smith               6
    smith               7
    Agent agent = new Agent();
    StringBuffer sql = new StringBuffer();
    int count = getPLNo(agentID);// # of the query result
    try {
    SQL tsql = new SQL();
    Connection conn = tsql.getConnection();
    sql.append("SELECT agent_last, b.PLID ");
    sql.append("FROM Agent a, PL b ");
    sql.append("where a.agent_id = b.agent_id ");
    sql.append("and a.agent_id = ? ");
    PreparedStatement st = conn.prepareStatement(sql.toString());
    st.setInt(1, agentID);
    ResultSet rs = st.executeQuery();
    while (rs.next()) {
    agent.setAgentID(agentID);
    agent.setAgentLast(rs.getString(1));
    for ( int i = 0 ; i < count; i++ ) {               //how to do it?
    agent.setPrivateLabelID(new int[] {rs.getInt(2)});//how to do it?
    st.close();
    rs.close();

    System.out.println("SQL: " + e.getMessage());
    throw new Exception(e.getMessage());
    } catch (Exception e) {

    If that's not what you're looking for, then you get
    what you pay for. :-)Hi fmeyer75,
    Thank you very much for your input. That's exactly what I was looking for and it works!!!!
    For anyone who has similar issue, I changed the code a little to make it work with my existing ones. I never splited queries before, so please tell me if there's a better way to handle it.
    I keep the first half part and changed a little for the second half. Below is what I use now
    sql.setLength(0);
    sql.append("SELECT PLID ");
    sql.append("FROM PL ");
    sql.append("where agent_id = ? ");
    List list = new ArrayList();
    PreparedStatement st2 = conn.prepareStatement(sql.toString());
    st2.setInt(1, agentID);
    ResultSet rs2 = st2.executeQuery();
    while (rs2.next()) {
                 list.add(new Integer(rs2.getInt(1)));
    agent.setPrivateLabelID(new int[list.size()]) ;
    for ( int i = 0 ; i < list.size(); i++ ) {
    agent.getPrivateLabelID() = ((Integer)
    list.get(i)).intValue() ;
    st.close();
    rs.close();
    st2.close();
    rs2.close();

  • Editable field in ALV Object Model

    Hi Guys,
    I'm using method cl_salv_table=>factory to display an ALV (Object Model) in my report.
    I want to "open up" one field for user entries, in other words make one column of my table editable.
    I assumed to find the respective methods in class cl_salv_table, cl_salv_columns_table or cl_salv_display_settings, so far without getting anywhere.
    I know about the field-catalogue and the method set_ready_for_input in class CL_GUI_ALV_GRID - it's not working once you're in the object model.
    Any ideas how to do that?
    Thank you!

  • How to add search help for field in ALV object

    Hello,
    In a program, we use ALV object ( container) to create a liste like : field1, field2 .. but when display we do not have search help for this . Could you please help me how to add match code in this case for field 1 and field2, We use set_table_for_first_display
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    when you define your field catalogue you can create data elements with search help in se11 and use them for field 1 and field 2.
    But maybe it is enough to use data elements belonging to a domain with a value help and to set field F$AVAILABL in the field catalogue or to fill the name of the field CHECKTABLE.

  • Is Active Directory's ExtensionAttributes9 a field in user object and how to retrieve it in the class type userprincipal?

    Hi, I'm using VS2012.
    I want to use this ExtensionAttributes9 field to store date value for each user object.  I use UserPrincipal class, a collection of these objects are then bind to a gridview control.  Is ExtensionAttributes9 a field in AD user object?
    How can I access it and bind to the gridview?
    If this field isn't available then what other field can use?
    Thank you.
    Thank you

    UserPrincipal is basically a wrapper around DirectoryEntry:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.directoryservices.directoryentry.aspx and only provides a subset of the Active Directory, although the most common, attributes that are available for the user object.  The attribute that you
    seek is not one of them.
    By utilizing the method that I provided you a link to, it will return the underlying DirectoryEntry that was used to build the UserPrincipal object and should allow you to access the attribute that you seek.
    It would be greatly appreciated if you would mark any helpful entries as helpful and if the entry answers your question, please mark it with the Answer link.

  • Auto-populate fields in Custom Object Based on Another Record

    Hello,
    I am hoping to auto-populate a few default values in a new Custom Object record based on an associated Lead record. The layout is this:
    I use the Lead record to take care of most of the information in the sales stages until the product is sold. The Lead record has fields to record information for a one product sale. The sales person can then use the Custom Object (called 'GX Additional Product') (which shows up in the Related Information section of the Lead record) to add additional items to a sales order request. Many of the fields in the GX Additional Product (custom object) record are identical to fields already filled out in the Lead record.
    What I would like to do, is when a new GX Additional Product (custom object) is added to the Lead record, those identical fields already filled out in the Lead record, by default, populate the corresponding fields in the new GX Additional Product (custom object) record.
    Is this possible? Is this something that can be done with JoinFieldValues? If so, I've had a bit of confusion trying to set up a JoinFieldValues expression.
    If you have any information to share that would be helpful, that would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

    Hi,
    You can use JoinFieldValue to Custom Objects from other entities, cause you will have other objects' ID recorded inside the CO's, when you open a new detail record associated with the parent. Make sure your custom object is showing as a detail section (N:1) into lead´s main page. Try with one field first, using the exact syntax provided at samples listed at product documentation.

  • How to extract a field from Binary object

    Hi Guys,
    I have a Binary object in custom aggregator and I would like to extract a field from the Binary object without de-serializing the Binary object. I know this can be done but figure out how.. Appreciate your help.
    Have tried this
    PofValue value = PofValueParser.parse(Binary, (PofContext) BinaryEntry.getSerializer());
    PofValue child = value.getChild(1);
    Object value = child1.getValue();
    but no luck.
    Thanks

    Hi JK,
    Thanks..  I have Binary  and tried
    PofValue pofValue = PofValueParser.parse(binary, pofContext);
    PofNavigator path = new SimplePofPath(1);
    PofValue target = path.navigate(pofValue);
    Object value = target != null ? target.getValue() : null;
    but no luck.. I must be missing something.
    Basically, am trying to do cache joins using aggregator and data affinity. Sample code snippet
    @Override

        Long contId = (Long)binaryEntry.extract(new KeyExtractor("getPartyId"));
        BackingMapContext backingMapContext = binaryEntry.getContext().getBackingMapContext("TESTCACHE2");

    %There are similarities syntactically they have a great deal in common. C# does things to try to be helpful that I find onerous and distasteful. As an example we (as java developers) take accessor and mutator methods for granted. If I want to get the value of the the framitz member data I'm going to call getFramitz(). This is a given that we accept as cannon. C# however wraps the call to the accessors and mutators and takes care of that little detail so the code
    Widget w = new Widget() ;
    w.framitz ;might be calling an accessor method under the hood (without telling you) or it could be accessing a public member directly without calling an accessor. This sort of help I neither want nor need.
    This is the sort of thing about .Net in general that drives me insane and makes me not want to use it.

  • Problem in Saving Data Fields to an Object

    Hi,
    I have a form which includes the User Information when you insert the user Id on to a field. When you enter the user Id in the field and submit the results get inserted into a  UserInfoBean class in java. The UserInfoBean object is retrieved to the getUserDat() in flex. The first time I do this it assignes the data to the  "userInfo" and I include this into the fields as
                               <s:TextInput id="firstNameId" text="{userInfo.FirstName}"/>
    The issue I am having is IF I do move to another section and comeback and try to look for another user the "userInfo" becomes NULL but the results.getItemAt(0) has data object UserInfoBean. When I try to print inside the getUserData() the userInfo.FirstName I get Null since the userInfo is NULL and results.getItemAt(0).FirstName I get the values.
    The code is attached below.
    Is there a way to fix this issue? How should I get the result into the userInfo?
    Thank you,

    Hi,
    all development and client independend customizing is visible at once at all clients of an SAP instance.
    You have create separate instances like YA1(100) = DEV; YA2(100) = TEST; and YA3(100) = PROD. As a customizing sandbox in DEV a separate cleient might be helpfull.
    All instances could be created at the same server in an early stage of the project. Later at least for production a separate server should be used.
    Some consultants with some experience could save costs in such a project.
    Kind regards,

  • Accessing private field of Derived object in Base class

    Hi,
    I have this piece of code I wrote a while ago to test something. The issue is accessing a private field of Base class in Base but of a Derived object.
    Here is the code:
    class Base
         private int x;
         public int getX()
              return x;
         public int getX(Derived d)
              // return d.x;
              return ((Base) d).x;
    }The commented code does not work but casting d to Base does.
    Can someone please explain the reasoning for this.
    Forgot to mention that the compilation error is that x has private access in Base.
    Thank you.
    Edited by: 953012 on Apr 1, 2013 8:42 AM

    >
    As I understand the explanation says that you can access any private member within the code of the class that encloses the private member. So in this case x is the private member and the line of code (return d.x) is in Base which encloses the private member. Does it have to do with the fact that the Derived class does not in fact inherit the private members of Base?
    >
    It has to do with the entire quote from the spec
    >
    A private class member or constructor is accessible only within the body of the top level class (§7.6) that encloses the declaration of the member or constructor. It is not inherited by subclasses
    >
    Your code is
    public int getX(Derived d)
              // return d.x;
              return ((Base) d).x;
         }The 'Derived' class is NOT 'the top level class that encloses the declaration of the member'. It does NOT inherit 'x' which is a private member of 'Base'. As far as the 'Derived' class is concerned 'x' does not exist.
    >
    If outside Base code I have Derived d = new Derived() and I call d.getX() then isn't that like calling d.x in myX()?
    >
    How is that the same? 'Base' owns 'x' and can do whatever it wants with it. 'Derived' has no knowledge of 'x' and CAN NOT access it.
