P-Track Application: Joint view of Interactive Reports

Is there a way to create a customized report in the P-Track Application that joins the fields from the various individual interactive reports? For example, if I want certain columns from Projects tab and also other columns from the Status Updates tab, how can I achieve that?
Thanks,
Dorothy

Dorothy, you'll need to create another report or modify an existing one with a query that does this type of join. It most certainly can be done -- but -- you'll have to unlock the application so that you can edit it.. I augmented the interactive report on page 1 (Projects' interactive report) to give users the "latest status update" by project.
This is my "extra column" in that report:
,(select status_update from eba_proj_status_updates where update_date=(select max(update_date) from EBA_PROJ_STATUS_UPDATES u where u.project_id = s.id)) latest_status_update

  • How to edit "Single Row View" in Interactive Reports?

    Hi,
When using Interactive Report when one clicks on the little page icon on the left on a gievn row - one is presented with a small output from all columns for that row.
For example login as demo/demo to:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=12988:1
And click on the first icon in the first row. You'll get an output like:
    Empno     7839
    Ename     KING
    Job     PRESIDENT
    Mgr     -
    Hiredate     17-NOV-81
    Sal     5000
    Comm     -
    Deptno     10
How (and where) can I modify the output of this?
    Regards,
    Pawel.

    Thanks, for your responses.
In fact this is what I have done. What I am looking after is simply how to modify what is already there. That way, I don't need to create different pages with Next/Previous buttons etc... for every Interactive Report I have.

  • Interactive reports lost when copying application

    Hi,
For developing purposes, I often copy an entire application and start working with a new version of the application on the same database. Now, I noticed that after copying an application, all the saved interactive reports were gone. The report itself still works fine, but the tab bar with saved reports is no longer there.
    Is this correct?
    Regards,
    Tijn

    Hello,
I believe that's correct yes (it's linked to the user).
You want the saved reports are also copied in your new application?

  • Issue with DAD authentication and Interactive Reports

    Apex version 3.1.1.00.09
I have an application which is using DAD authentication. Since changing the authentication model I have noticed that I lose some of the Interactive Report functionality specifically the ability to save reports.
Post authentication I can get the user info by calling owa_util.get_cgi_env('REMOTE_USER')
However when I reference V('APP_USER') it returns APEX_PUBLIC_USER. Is this the reason for the loss of interactive report functionality. If so is there a workaround?
    Thanks in advance

When the authentication model is set to Application Express
The user test_sso (which has end user rights only) has the ability to Save Report within an Interactive Report.
When the authentication model is set to DAD
A user who can authenticate against the DAD does not see the option to Save Report in the Interactive Report actions menu.
As a developer when viewing the Interactive report I have the option to Save Report*
Is this correct behaviour? I want the end user to log on to the application seemlessly and still have the ability to save a report.
    Thanks

  • Custom pagination for APEX 4.2 interactive report using Page Zero

    Hi,
    I want to implement an «Custom pagination for APEX 4.2 interactive report» using a «page zero».
I recently migrate from Apex 3.1 to Apex 4.2 and my «Custom pagination for APEX 3.1 interactive report» using a «page zero»  is not working any more.
So now I try to adapt an excellent example of Jari Laine for 4.0 but using a page zero.
I put the code JavaScript to Page zero but I must create an dynamic action to fire only for an interactive report region.
    It’s a good idea?
    Thank you

Thought I would try once more with my DatePicker question.
On the Apex.Oracle.Com website I have created a 1 page application that has an Interactive Report.
    [url http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=15655:1]
    user = 'test'
    password = 'test'
    I have 2 questions :
    (1) In IE7, press 'Actions', 'Filter'. On the Column dropdown list, select 'Order Timestamp'.
Notice the prompt icon to the right of the 'expression'. This should change to the Datepicker, but in IE7 it does not. Try the samething in Firefox or Chrome and the Datepicker will appear.
Is this a BUG, or does Apex 4.02 not support IE7 ?
    (2) In Firefox or Chrome, where you can now see the Datepicker, you will notice that it is the new style picker, not the old style ( called 'classic' ). I want to change it so that it shows the 'classic' datepicker not the new, but cannot see how to do it, if indeed you actually can.
I would really appreciate it if someone could take a look and let me know if I am going mad, or if we need to get all our users onto IE8. We have now gone live with Apex 4.02 and need to resolve these issues.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Interactive Report wide Column Sorting hangs in Internet Explorer

I have an application that contains an interactive report. The Column Sorting and Filtering functions work fine in Firefox. However, if I try to sort a wide (110 byte - it contains a hyperlink) column in Internet Explorer, APEX produces the 'loading data' image and then hangs. Even a sort of a narrow (3 byte) column is noticeably slower in Internet Explorer than in Firefox.

  • Number of rows displayed per page in an interactive report

    Hi,
I'd like to know if it's possible to change the values of the select list called 'Rows' in an interactive report (which is displayed in the search bar).
    Indeed, I want to display 16 rows per page and I can only choose among the values 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 50, 100, 200...
    Thank you for your reply.
    Emilie.

    Hi Tobias,
    Thank you for your help.
I had already tried this but it's not what I want. What your are saying only limits the values in the select list (for example, if I set to 16, I can't choose values higher than 16 in the select list 'Rows' of the search bar).
I want to limit the number of rows displayed in the interactive report to 16 per page.
    Any other idea?
    Emilie.

  • Making raw breakes in Interactive report

    Hello
I have build an application, which is a grading system - it is going to be used for a competition.
In the main page of the application, I have an interactive report with all of the competitors, which are ordered by the highest marks they get.
The top six competitors are going to the next round of the competition.
I need to separate the first 6 rows of the report, from the rest of the report.
Is it possible to make a break after the first 6 records of the interactive report? May be by modifying a select statement?
    Thank you for consideration.

Wow, it's getting harder and harder to read posts here. People seem to be very casual with their writing. I don't know if it's because the forum is multi-national or people have gotten used to "IM-speak" or what.
I'm just saying... How do people expect others to want to answer their question if they don't put in the time to ask it so it can be comprehended?
Sorry, that was my rant for the day.
As for answering your question, you would need to change your report query to add a column like this:
    row_number() OVER(ORDER BY competitor_score DESC) AS score_rank
If you simply want to highlight those who go to the next round, customize the Interactive report to highlight rows where the score_rank <= 6.
If you want the IR to to Group By, customize the IR to create a calculation, where if the score_rank <= 6, then "Move Forward", otherwise "Going Home". Then have the IR group by that new column. Or enhance your SQL query to do it. Something like this should work:
    SELECT d.*,
    CASE
    WHEN d.score_rank <= 6 THEN
    'Move Forward'
    ELSE
    'Going Home'
    END AS progress_groups
    FROM (SELECT ...,
    ROW_NUMBER() OVER(ORDER BY competitor_score DESC) AS score_rank
    FROM ...) d;
    Good luck,

  • How to display images by using URLs in Interactive Reporting

    Hello everybody,
My client has the Hyperion System 9.3 suite.
We have a report in Interactive Reporting showing product data.
The source for the report is a relational database (SQL Server).
The data is grouped by product.
My client needs the product's picture (jpg) in the report.
The problem is that product images are not available in the relational database but via URL like this:
    http://client_domanin//Hyperion/id_product.jpg
(the name of the image equals the id of the product).
I was thinking to solve this problem using Java Script.
I don't know Java Script and don't know how to 'integrate' the JavaScript code with Interactive Reporting.
How should the Java Script look like?
Any help will be extremely appreciated.
    Thank you all!
    Daniela

You might be able to do it if you are using the iHTML view of the Report not the Interactive Reporting Web Client (Plug-in)
I do not have a 9.x server available to test this so it is guess on how i did it once in a Proof of Concept.
In Results section Create a Computed Item that will be the HTML tag for the Graphic
the syntax would look something like below
    '<IMG SRC = "http://client_domanin//Hyperion/" + id_product + ".jpg">'
WHERE id_product is a column in your Data.
Again this will not show a graphic when viewed with Interactive Reporting Web Client or Desktop Client.
Good Luck, hope this is helpful

  • Interactive Reporting: master-detail report

    Hi,
I wonder if it is possible to have a kind of master-detail pair of reports.
For example I have one report containing a crosstab with product groups in the down "dimension". When I click on one of those product groups a second report should appear with the children of the product group, the products.
Is there a sort of binding variables or getting it from one report to another?
    Oliver

If you are using the iHTML version of the tool for viewing the report there is a possible way. It involves using a SmartCut to the Target/Detail Report and passing parameters on the URL which then are interogated in the OnStartup script of the Target/Detail Report.
    Start with Master File.
Create Computed Column in Results Section that combines the SmartCut URL and Parameters into a HREF Link.
Put that column into Report Section as Table Dimension
When the Report is viewed in Interactive Reporting Web Client you will see the code of the HREF. When it is viewed in the iHTML client you will see the link.

  • Javascript error in interactive reports  chart - 3.1

I created an application with the new interactive reports.

When I use the Chart option in IE I get a javascript error.
'null' is null or not an object
It is working fine in Firefox.
I tried with 3 different themes and it is always giving me that javascript error on the charts. I also tried on different machines.
    Thanks
    Francis.

    Francis,
I just tried with the exact same version of IE and didn't get any errors. Do you have version 9+ of the Flash Player? I'm not sure why an earlier version would cause a javascript error, but it's worth checking. You can check by right-clicking any Flash content and clicking "About Adobe Flash Player X..."

  • Interactive Reports Lost

It would appear that when a new Apex application is installed the Interactive Reports preferences are reset and any saved reports are lost. Am I doing something wrong or is this a feature of Interactive Reports.

    Resurrecting/Bumping this thread.
I tried David Peake's advice on this but drew a blank.
Here's where I am with this.
Server 1: DEV & UAT environments
Server 2: Production & Demo environments
    DEV APP_ID = 127
    DEMO APP_ID = 555
I created a copy of 127 and assigned it the 555 ID during the 'copy' process.
I then exported App ID 555 from server 1 and imported it into server 2 following David's instructions.

Sadly, you guessed it, the user saved IRR reports are no more.
    Has anyone cracked this?
Can anyone see what I may be doing wrong?
    Any help appreciated.
Like many people here, I have lots of users with carefully crafted IRR regions. I don't want to be the one to tell them they have to re-create them.
There HAS to be a way to save them.

  • Interactive report - how to change language in labels

    Hello All,
I am writing an application, which uses an interactive report with all these great possibilities as: Sort, Filter, Control, Highlight, Aggregate etc.).
The problem is that some users do not understand English language and they would like to see equivalents for above labels in their home language :) (let's say - in polish).
Does anybody know how to do this?
    Thanks for the answer
    Best regards
    Jarek Zurek

    Jarek,
This document should prove very helpful for all your work with IRs.
    http://tunahuntress.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/apexir_goodbadugly.pdf
Be sure to check out the recommended reading list at the bottom.
Finally, Paul McMillan helped me define custom labels for the display (but not the menu items) here:
Re: Interactive Reports - Larger Actions Menu Image doesn't fit in IE?
Note that this javascript source should go in the page template's footer (right after </BODY>).

  • Can i go straight to single row view of a report?

When I click on a link I would like to be able to go directly to a single row view on an interactive report - not to just select that row on the normal view. Anyone know how to do this?

    Hi,
Actually you can go single row view of interactive report on page load.
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=40323:48
And it is easy to do with dynamic action.
I did create Advanced dynamic action
    Event "Page load"
    Action "Execute javascript code"
Code gReport.controls.row('7369')-- this varies on your report . Just example for EMP table
Selection type "Region" and I did select region where is my IR
Instead hardcode primary key value to javascript, you can probably use item like
gReport.controls.row('&Px_MY_ITEM_FOR_PK')I can post how it can be done in Apex 3.2 if needed.
