I've an interactive report displaying a column of data type = date. When populated with the result of "select (sysdate) from dual;", regardless of what data type conversion (to_char/to_date) or what time formatting is used (attempting DD-MON-YYYY HH:MIPM), the displayed time is always 12:00AM.

Can you post a small example of what you are trying to do on the hosted instance of APEX from Oracle? You are trying to get the following:
SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'DD-MON-YYYY HH:MI PM') test_col FROM DUAL to format properly?
It returns: 18-NOV-2010 09:51 PM in a one column report for me..

CRM 7.0 - Enhancement of Data Sources for interactive Reporting

Hallo All,
I would like to know whether anybody has positive experience with the enhancement of CRM Data Sources for interactive Reporting. I read that the enhancement of Customer fields should be possible (Those Data Sources below the Hierarchy node /CRMBW/ROOT).
I have seen that the extract structure can be enhanced via RSA6 (as for other data sources).
Questions:
1. Which USEREXIT / BADI has to be used to fill the added fields?
2. Does it work?

Those DS are not meant to be enhanced manually but only by one of the following two ways:
1. Adding custom fields with the Application Enhancement Tool (AET) in the CRM UI.
2. Adding SAP fields with the Interactive Reporting Enhancement Workbench (IREW).

ESET NOD 32 cannot scan past this point. I keep getting stuck at 56% at the following; C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\ Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\Pending. Is this a problem with NOD32 or with Firefox? Thank you.

I ran into a glitch on my system that I tried to fix myself. My NOD32 was always showing the yellow warning circle as my protection status when I started my computer. I tried to fix this every way I new how.
Then I started to get pop ups asking me to fix and then send system error reports to Windows. Some stating they were '''''critical.''''' So I sent NOD32 the e-mail below.

Using default application date format substitution string

I'd like to reference something like ":app_default_date_format" to set date formats in sql statements.
Does a substitution string exist that returns the default application date format?

Isn’t the whole point of defining an application date format to avoid the need to specifically reference date formats?

I’m not familiar with an official substitution string for the application date format but you can use wwv_flow.g_date_format .

Date Format Display on report

Is there a way to set a custom date format on a report column? I am trying to use a format mask and it doesn't appear to be working. Maybe someone can spot my mistake:
Query: Hours Worked = Clock_IN - Clock_OUT
Format mask for Clock In/Clock Out - DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI (from list)
Format mask for Hours Worked column: HH:MI (hand typed)

Changing date format in bw report

Could anybody pls Explain How can I change date format in bw report from 19-03-2008 to 19 mar 2008.Is there any setting we need to do. Else do i need to write some ABAP code to get desired format.

Data model in Interactive Reporting

Hi,
Could any one clarify me on What is Data model in Interactive report and how we can use exactly.

A data model is the physical representation of your tables joined together.
In SQL terms it the FROM and WHERE (JOIN) clauses.
an IR Query section depends on a Data Model. That Data Model can be a Master Data Model (Shared with many Query Sections) or a regular Data Model.
Master Data Models cannot be changed within the Query Section - Their Background is Grey and will indicate so in the upper left corner of the screen...
Locked Data Model: {data model section name}
Master Data Models are useful in that you only design it once and then it and its connection are shared with many Query Sections. And modifications to the Data Model are then applied in the Data Model Section and each dependent Query Section has those changes.
For a more comple defintion open Interactive Reporting and go to HELP. In the Search type "Data Modeling"

How can I dynamically change the Application Date Format?

Hi everyone...
In my application (v 3.2) I let the user set the application date format dynamically through a "preference" value they can change on the go.
I then take the format they pick and assign their value (ie: DD-MON-YYYY) and pad 'HH:MI' to it and use this as the PICK_DATE_FORMAT_MASK which works great for most date pickers.
The problem I have is that some date picker I use in the application don't require the HH:MI, they simply need the DD-MON-YYYY part. Could I use the NLS_DATE_FORMAT for this? Would I then be able to use date pickers with the "use application date format"? It doesn't seem to work for me.
In other words, I basically need 2 date formats for my application date pickers; 1 for simply the dates and 1 for dates including time. And these 2 formats are chosen by the user by setting an application preference dynamically at run time.
Not sure if I make sense here....any idea?

Create data models using interactive reporting

Hey guys,
I was wondering how you create data models using interactive reporting. An simple example would be great? I would really appreciate if I could get an answer.
Also, I wanted to understand a real world situation that you guys might have faced with creating data models, etc...thanks a ton :-)

I have tried with changeing some parameters, reinstall XE DB and APEX,
but without success on date format.
Any help to fix date format ?

Client configuration is the main factor for date formats, settings can be made in the database server for defaults but can be overridden according to the client. And check the browser language (and font) settings they can also be a factor.
Start with checking the national language settings ( sqlplus > show parameter nls;) and did you install the Western European, or Universal version? (Windows? Linux?)
Client settings are picked up from environment variables, the most important is NLS_LANG specifying client country, region, and character set so that the right characters are shown to the client (i.e. which currency symbol, number formats: 9,999.00 or 9.999,00) and in the U.S, we write dates as mm/dd/yy, while in the UK and most of Europe its dd/mm/yy. And the environment settings can be overridden within a session too, i.e. in sqlplus:
select sysdate from dual;
alter session set nls_date_format = 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss';
select sysdate from dual;
And check the NLS_LANG setting ...
\[linux\]$ echo $NLS_LANG
\[win\]$ echo %NLS_LANG%
The character set for the database can cause trouble especially when the client settings are incorrect or invalid. Easiest way to find the db setting is SQL> alter database backup controlfile to trace; and check the trace file created in the user_dump_dest folder ...

Date format in Discovere Reports

We have created a workbook with a parameter which is supposed to show up an LOV for a parameter in the MON-RR format. Now this LOV shows up
correctly in the Discoverer Desktop edition as MON-RR format, but when we view
the same in Discoverer Viewer it shows up as DD-MON-RRRR.
Earlier we had got a partial resolution on this issue (TAR 3891425.996), wherein by changing the ICX
profile value in Oracle Applications, we are able to set the date mask to MON-R
R.
But now the above profile applies to all the reports and all the dates show up as MON-RR, whereas we want to continue showing the date in DD-MON-RRRR forma
t in some of the reports.
How can this be achieved ?

1. nqsconfig date format
its same for both the two installations
DATE_TIME_DISPLAY_FORMAT = "yyyy/mm/dd hh:mi:ss" ;

TIME_DISPLAY_FORMAT = "hh:mi:ss" ;
2. make sure that you didn't save date format in column properties from front-end
Just checked and we havan't saved anything in column properties .. even i created new report as well but still format was same ..
3. Did you mention anything in connection pool settings to set date format.

'unsupported data type' in interactive report

I try to download a file from a link of an itneractive report.
In the "report attributes" section of the interactive column, I have defined in the link section of a column the 'Target' as 'URL', and the URL as this :

Hi Christina,
sorry the wizard you have to use is the "Form > Form on Table with Report", because the normal create interactive report wizard allows to enter a query.
After you are done with the wizard, have a look at the generated SQL statement (it has to use the dbms_lob.getlength) and the value in "Number / Date Format" for that column.

Date Problem in Interactive Reports Mail

Hi Everyone,
I am using Apex 4.2.2 ,
Issue is when I am sending mail through download, e-mail section of an interactive report. Mail is received on the mail server and but in its mail header send_date is not coming due to which our server is blocking that mail. How to send date as well in the header in oracle apex?

if this is an ITEM in IR, you can use in Column Definition | Number Date format the following specifier:
999G999G999G999G990D0

After the D in the format specifier, put as many 0s as the number of digits you want to be displayed after the decimal point.

Customisation of Date format while Scheduling reports

Hello,
While I am scheduling a report,in reccurance-Dateformat-RunObject and option is Hourly,
the StartDate/Time format needs to change from 07 - 20 -AM 06/07/2009 to 06/Jul/2009 07-20- AM or equivalent time format.
Is there any options to customise the time format like above while schedling the report.

If you are scheduling from CMC or Infoview then you won't be able to customize it. If you are scheduleing from a custom application then you can build a screen whoch shows a date format in desired way so that the end user can select start and end time.
