P67A-GD65B3 won't post with more than 2 RAM sticks/P

Issue is as stated. On this board the dimm slots are listed as 1,2,3,4 (as marked on motherboard). The computer will consistently power cycle (not even post) when RAM is in any dual channel configuration. I've tried 4 sticks of memory (2 separate orders of 2x4GB). All RAM sticks work in non-dual channel mode. I've modified the voltage to 1.65. I've verified the timings are correct at 8-8-8-24. I've inserted 1 stick at a time, let boot all the way to windows, and inserted the next stick. I tried the inserting 1 at a time numerous different ways. Anything else I may have missed? If not, I guess its RMA time.

Check with G.Skill. I believe they only warranty & suggest one kit being installed. Differences in batches are noted as the excuse if memory serves me. UEFI/BIOS version 1.D was released by MSI to accomodate the non standard SPD profile programming, since a newer one, 1.E is installed, it rules a problem there out. It's also possible the RAM requires X.M.P. to be enabled to make them work correctly. Again, G.Skill is going to be the best source for advice on how to get their product to work.

I also used the required quad-channel DIMM-Slots. Anyone else having this problem and a potential fix? Currently I can only use 8 GB.

Hello! Thank you for the answer. I have the X99s SLI Plus Motherboard. I tried it and the result is, that my PC only boots when the RAM is inserted in DIMM 1 and 3. Is it supposed to work in every single slot? Because it doesnt even work if I put one each in DIMM 1-4.

Problems deploying Windows 7 x64 computers with more than 8GB RAM

We have a weird problem after upgrading from SP1 to R2 CU1. We have built a Windows 7 64 bit image with the latest updates (currently September 2014 updates). It deploys fine to all computers. But after some days – don’t know exactly – guess after 4-7 days
- we start getting errors on computers with more than 8 GB of RAM. The errors just start out of the blue. We didn't change TS, image or driver package.
The error shows in 3 different ways – depending of the computer model.
1) BSOD – STOP 0x000000F4. Disk error.
2) Task Sequence error 0x87D00269 when installing the first Application in TS. The error seems to have something to do with Management Point not found.
3) Task Sequence simply stops after installing CMclient. No errors - it simply stops.
For instance we get the BSOD on the Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p. But on the ThinkCentre M83 we get the TS error 0x87D00269. M93p and M83 uses the same driver package. They consequently fail every time after the error has begun. If we reduce (remove physically)
the memory to max. 8GB of RAM, they successfully run the Task Sequence. We get the above errors on both Lenovo and HP machines with more than 8GB.
I made a copy of the production TS and started testing. I created a new driver package for M93p/M83. It contains only the NIC drivers. Now M93p an M83 successfully finishes the TS. Adding sata or chipset or MEI/SOL drivers to the package I get the 0x87D00269
error on both m93p and M83. At least not the BSOD on the M93p ;-)
Tried setting SMSTSMPListRequestTimeout to 180 in the TS. Also tried putting in a 5 minute break before installing the first Application in the TS. Also tried putting in SMSMP=mp1.mydomain in the installation properties for the CMclient. It is still
the same problem.

Investegating the 0x87D00269 error on the siteservers Status Messages Queries is weird.
Install Static Applications failed, hr=0x87d00269. The operating system reported error 617: You have attempted to change your password to one that you have used in the past. The policy of your user account does not allow this. Please select a password that
you have not previously used.
Hopefully this is a bug in translating the errorcodes? Just to be sure I checked all the SCCM serviceaccounts and none of them have expired passwords. And again why only on computers with more than 8GB RAM.
Anyone else had problems rolling computers with more than 8GB og RAM?
Why does this happens after a few days? To begin with, it runs just perfect and then starts failing on all machines with more than 8GB. Without a change in TS, image and driverpackage. We have seen this pattern for the last 3 month after
updating our image with the latest Windows Updates. It all started after updating from SP1 to R2 CU1.
Why does it only affect machines with more than 8GB RAM?
How to get rid of the 0x87D00269 error?
Seems to be somehow related to driver installation mechanism in SCCM in combination with Windows 7 64 bit, +8GB RAM and SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 or perhaps just R2.

We have the same workaround, using a x64 boot image resolved all our issues with WinPE 5.0.

Successful install of 8.1.7 on Solaris 8 with more than 256Mb RAM

To all who have struggled with this one, like me. You owe me a bottle of Rogaine.... but I will accept a bottle of Jack instead.
It appears that the kernel parameters published in the Install Guide are only good for Solaris 8 with up to 256Mb RAM
If dbassist craters at around 80% in OUI with a "Can't connect to Oracle" and you have more than 256Mb on board
DOUBLE the kernel parameters !!!

GeForce 7300 GT with more than 2GB RAM?

I had a lot of crashes with my MP and had original 2x512MB & Kingston's 2x1GB installed.
I contacted Kingston's support when Rember caused kernel panic every time I tried to test memory with it.
They said that it is "known issue" that 7300gt does not work with current drivers with openGL applications and more than 2GB memory installed.
But my MP kept having kernel panics with rember (and with lots of other applications)without any openGL involved. I even ran Rember with Finder closed.
With only 2x512 or only 2x1 installed everything seems to be fine, except that there's not enough memory to use FCS efficiently.
Anybody had same problems?
Is this really "known issue"?
If it is, when is solution available?
MP+GF7300gt have been on the market over half a year now.

I have 4 GBs installed in my Mac Pro w/7300 card. No problems whatsoever.
For best performance from quad-channel interleaving you may want to install either six additional 512 MB DIMMs (four in Riser A and four in Riser B) or two more 512 MB DIMMs (in Riser A) and four 1 GB DIMMs (in Riser B.)
In your current configuration I believe you should have two 512 MB DIMMs in Riser A and two 1 GB DIMMs in Riser B.

P67a-GD65 won't boot with over 12 GB RAM

I am running the P67a-GD65 with i5 2500k, GTX 570, 1T HD and 60Gb SSD. I had 16 GB (4/4Gb) of Hyper x 1600 MHz RAM installed and it was working for a while. Then the computer shut off in the middle of a game. I realized the video card fan was not working and swapped it out. However, with the 4 (4gb) Ram installed it would start up for a few seconds (fans, lights running) then shuts off...the cycle continues but never stays on nor long enough to reach the BIOS setup. I removed one 4gb Ram and its up and running. I was able to play BF3 and I have had no issues. Is there any reason why this happens? is it a setting in BIos that I need to fix or do I just need to swap out the mobo? I know its not the RAM because I exchanged them earlier today along with the Video Card. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

At this point flash back to the BIOS that did work. Use the forum flasher >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
and report your findings to MSI so that they can fix it and potentially release the BIOS that you are hoping for If everyone reports their findings then the chances are so much better to get a fix sooner rather than later.

Macbook pro won't boot with two new 4GB RAM sticks.

I have a mid 2010 Macbook Pro. It came with two 2GB RAM sticks. After downloading Lion, my computer started to get sluggish so I thought I would upgrade the ram. I bought two 4GB Corsair RAM sticks and tried to install them. My computer will boot up if I install one of the new 4GB sticks and leave an old 2GB stick; but it won't boot with both of the new 4GB sticks. Any ideas?

Mac Pro 2.66 crashing with more than 2GB ram

I curently have a base config of 1GB ram (2 512MB chips), the systems runs fine, I then added memory in various configs and it always kernel panics when I exceed 2 GB. System runs fine until i try something memory intensive like Aperture or Photoshop.

4 x 512MB chips (2GB) = perfect
6 X 512MB chips (3GB) = crash
2 x 512MB and 2 x 2GB (5GB) = crash
2 X 2GB (4GB) = crash
I have tried only riser 1, still crashes even with only the 4GB running. All memory is genuine apple and passes the hardtest CD.

Agreed.
If you cannont get the memory to fail when only one or two pairs is in a given riser then it will be very difficult to diagnose and you'd have to suspect either a riser or mainboard problem.
You do know that memtest will only test up to 2GB unless you buy the $0.99 version 4.14 though right? Lower versions shouldn't KP though, should just allocate 2GB and test.
If it fails in both the following combinations:
Riser A - 2x 512
Riser B - 2x512, 2x 512
Riser A - 2x 512, 2x 512
Riser B - 2x512
then I suppose I'd be suspecting hardware failure on the motherboard. BY the way, both risers boards are identical, you can swap Riser A for Riser B and still have a working system if it helps in your tests.
I just went through the same thing, fortunately I had only 2 pairs (2x1GB) to work with...so I labelled the chips ABCD and worked the combinations through the risers A and B to determine that failure followed a given FBDIMM....after I'd done all this and found the suspected FBDIMM, I powered up the machine with the cover off for a change and found the red lights...did I feel silly then

Use Disk Utility whihc is in the Utilities Folder.
Select your Boot Disk on the left.
Select Verify Permissions

Apple won't let me sync with more than one computer

How crazy is it that Apple will not let you sync with more than one computer! I have three computers! One in the kitchen one in my room and one at my parents house. These are all my computers, but if I try to sync my iphone5! with my computer at my parents house itunes says it will erase all my data! I have legally purchased all my music, so I have bought the rights! which means I can have the same songs on mutiply computers.
I've seen posts like this before, so I know Im not the only one who knows that this is unexceptable! Apple knows too! So heres how we gonna do this, **** itunes and **** apple, they can suck it! I'm sick of Apple and how they try to control everything you do, with their limited youtube video capacity because they "dont allow flash".
All Apple care about is taking your money, otherwise they would listen to what their customers are saying. These posts are on an apple site after all.

I understand what you mean. If you would have a little more technical background to what is happening when you sync and iOS device, you would understand that the reason for syncing with only one computer is not to control you but is rather to manage the syncing.
For exemple, how would you manage to backup a device on multiple computer while some songs or apps are on your iOS device but not on the computer? Copying them back to the computer would only result in what you don't want, keeping different iTunes library on different computer.
The very best solutions for you is either;
Make one of your iTunes library the master with ALL your media files and use this one for syncing your device. You can easily manage all your music using automated playlist (like one for all the music with an older date you would decide).
Pay for iTunes match and ALL your song (even those you haven't bought from iTunes) to be available in the cloud for you to stream directly to your iPhone. This however have a monthly fee.
I agree that on one thing Apple is controlling; it's by not allowing you to extract songs from an iPod. Giving home sharing now, that would solely restrict you from illegally copying music to others. But again, you must understand that this limitation isn't to be powerfreak, it have been required to secure the music industries and make iTunes Store possible in the first place.
And make shure you active Home Sharing as it will give you full access (stream and copy over wi-fi from any computer and iOS devices) in between your iTunes libraries.

Is there a stereo bluetooth headset that can pair, i.e. multipoint, with more than one device at a time?
Are the MacBook and iPhone 4 capable of multipoint bluetooth technoloagy?
The goal is for my wife to be able to watch her Korean TV soap operas on her MacBook and still receive a call on her iPhone 4 via a stereo bluetooth headset.
I was looking at the Motorola S10-HD but after further review saw that it only pairs with one device at a time.
Appreciate any and all input. My Googling has returned no results.

You can only pair one device at a time to your 8330, or any other phone for that matter. The "pairings" are saved to the phone, you can use one or the other and you won't have to pair it again. Once you turn your bluetooth device on and the phone is on, they will find each other again.

Synching with more than one computer and attempting to delete more than one

Rage is not the word. I have been having the worst time with this thing! UGH! 1st I have more than one computer that has different music on each, but this thing will only sync with 1 and delete anything from another library already added. CRAZY! Second I wanted to rip my cds to my computer without being connected to the internet and itunes won't recong the music added at a later time. I have to be connected to the internet for it to Id the music as I am ripping...CRAZY! Then I was attempting to delete the duplicated music that was not Id and it would only allow me to delete one song at a time...CRAZY! Is there a way to have this thing synch with more than 1 computer? Delete songs in a group and not everything in sight. If so how and if anyone has any remedies for the rest of this craziness I would be most appreciative. I took me forever to even figure how to get to the point to post this. I beginning to feel very sorry I bought this thing. I thought I could rip my cds, and use my work and home computers to synch with it. You can't "sync" that is automatically update an iPod from multiple libraries or computers. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply.

That's correct, iTunes (and other music programs) downloads the information from an online database that contains the details of many thousands of CDs.

What do you want to sync with other iPods, iTunes? You can't sync one iPod with another, you can only update from iTunes. If you are adding a second iPod for your own use, just connect the new iPod to your computer and follow the on screen instructions. It will update from your existing library. Depending on the size of your library and the type of iPod you choose you can have it update all songs and playlists, selected playlists only or you can manage it manually. Our Verizon account has 10 lines and I figure we're paying over $7,000 a year, when I think of how much money total we have payed to Verizon only to be jerked around and around and lied too over and over again really does make me sick. 6 of these contracts have ended and 3 will be up in next couple months and 1 has a year left so the cancelation fees would not be that bad. And with the other big carrier I've heard it might be cheaper on monthly service. All I wanted from Verizon was for them to do whats right.

Got confirmation email at 4:56 will ship by 10/14 I got worried that all the phones would not ship till 10/14 and contacted verizon thru facebook messenger. They told me my phones would ship in the order received and not be held up by a phone that wasn't available in my order. And based on the time of my order she said 9/19 for the 6 and 6+ silver, 10/7 for the 6+ 64 gray , 10/14 for 6+ 16 gray. On Monday morning my status changed to 9/19:):) in the afternoon in changed to unknown. I called 611 and rep went thru all my phones with a time sheet she had and said i should get all but the 6+ 16 gray on 9/19, she said that one you had to order by 3:00 to get on 9/19. On Wednesday my status changed to 10/14 , called 611 again and this lady told me all my phones had 10/14 listed after them. She told me she didn't know what to tell me that Apple ships the phones and its out of Verizon's hands because they don't have the phones. then she told me to call Apple (and gave me the phone # ) and see if they ship preorders with more than 1 in a order when their available or wait till all are. I called them ( they laughed that Verizon had me call them) and they don't hold up orders . Called customer service back and guy said at least 10 times ....I ASSURE YOU VERIZON WILL NOT HOLD YOUR PHONES!!! i said of course they're not actually putting them in a box and waiting for all, they're sending them to other people who ordered after me. I asked him if my order could be separated/ rebuilt and do a (jump the line request) so i could get my phones when i should. He said there is no such thing at verizon....he has worked there many years and if there was he would know. Someone posted # to Internet orders so i called them Thursday morning, spoke to a very nice guy he said my phones that i should get i would and i should get an e-mail later that day and if i didnt get anything by 8:00 pm to call back. Before we hung up i asked if I didn't get anything did he know if they could cancel/separate/rebuild and do jump the line, he said they can do that and put me on hold while he spoke with a supervisor, he came back and said if nothing happened that day they would do that with my order. I got nothing, called Internet orders back at 8:30pm... went thru my history and asked them to do the rebuild. She transferred me to supervisor who REFUSED to rebuild my order, that is only for orders that have a technical error. She was also the first person from Verizon to tell me that they DO NOT ship orders in multiple shipments, they will only send when everything is available. She then said your order was given a delivery date of before 10/14 and that's when you'll get all your phones. I let her know that there is nothing about that confirmation that tells me that the phones that I ordered that had 9/19 deliver by dates would not be delivered then, 9/19 is before 10/14.

Same thing happened to me!!! They made a shady business move and they should be ashamed. Placed a pre-order for an Phone 6 and an iPhone 6 Plus at 2 AM on the 12th and got my pre-order in line just like everyone else did that morning. The 6 said delivery by 9/19 and the Plus was already back ordered to 10/7 but that's fine, I expected the Plus to be harder to get anyway. Being that both phones were eligible it made sense to just place one order given this hasn't been an issue in the past. However, Verizon moved my iPhone 6 pre-order delivery to coincide with the back ordered Plus so they don't have to ship each phone separately!!! I have to wait for something on backorder while the other is ready so they can save on shipping cost. I expected the one that I pre-ordered IN TIME FOR A 9/19 delivery and waited my turn "in (on)line" like everyone else I should get that when it told me that in the checkout, THEN send the Plus when it becomes available. I even have the confirmation email that says "Deliver by 9/19"!!! Every company you order from sends you the backorder item when it becomes in stock, they don't wait and hold the entire order for it. WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP!!!

Can I use a magic trackpad with more than one Mac at a time?

I am attempting to pair a MTP with a second MacBook Pro. So far I can't get system preferences to find the MTP.
I am wondering whether the MTP can be paired with only one Mac at a time, and that this is why my MBP won't find it.
The reason I am thinking this is because the little booklet that comes with the MTP says 'after you pair your MTP with a Mac, you can pair it again with a different Mac. To do this, you first remove the existing pairing and then pair the trackpad again'.
Can anyone advise, please?
If it can be paired with more than one MBP at a time, any suggestions why my system preferences search for the MTP is not producing any results?

Yes, your keyboard, mouse or trackpad can be paired with multiple Macs. You can even have multiple keyboards, mice or trackpads paired with one Mac. The caveat is that the device can only be connected to one Mac at a time. The device can't be paired or connected with a Mac while it's currently connected to another.
Pairing a device with 2 Macs will be troublesome if the Macs are located within 33 ft of each other. The device will connect with the first available paired Mac and then unavailable to the second. If the Macs are located outside the 10meter range, it's quite easy to power off the keyboard (forcing a disconnect) then walking the keyboard to Mac 2 and powering the keyboard on. I do this with a keyboard from my iMac to a Mac Mini in another room.

When I import a cd with more than one artist iTunes separates each individual artist - how do I get it to show the album as a whole rather than individual artist?

When I import a cd with more than one artist itunes shows each artist's song separately and won't group the album as a whole - this is incredibly frustrating something that Windows media player doesn't do. Does anyone have a simple cure for this annoyance?
