Package is invalid state when called in Trigger

Hi All,
We have a trigger in which we are calling procedure(which is created in some package). Every time the trigger is called it returned an error
'Package is in INVALID State".We tried to clean the app pool and that error went away but now it started coming again.
Please help as we have been struggling hard for this .
Database is ORA 10g.
Please let me know if there are any other questions.
Thanks in Advance !!!
Regards

My question is
Why do you post 'My car doesn't work, please help me' instead of specifying exactly (with source code) what went wrong?
Now you are asking people to rub up their broken crystal ball!

  • Invalid state when running first time after compile

    Often I will compile a package body without errors.
    The first time I run it, I will get the package is in an invalid state. The second time I run the package it will run fine.
    What is going on?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Dose it happen always ? Check if any object is getting changed. Is your package doing any thing which might be altering any objects being used by the package.
    thanks

  • SPA 30x and 50x - show miss state when call was pickup

    Hello
    do you know, how to show on display miss state (softkey miss) when call was pickup in pickup group.
    My IP phone is SPA 303 and 502, and 922 but SPA 922 is showing miss state well.
    Server is Asteriks.
    Marek

    Call completed elsewhere has not been missed, so SPA922 is on the wrong side ...
    If the line is declared as shared AND call is CANCELed with
    Reason: SIP;cause=200;text="Call completed elsewhere"
    then no missed call is logged.
    I'm not sure if you can configure Asterisk not to use this Reason in such particular case. If I remember correctly, there is and option of Dial() Application for it ...
    Of course, unless you have User->Supplementary Services->Log Missed Calls for extension in question set to "Yes" no missed calls are logged at all.

  • Invalid statement when accessing JavaBean in CQL query

    Hello everybody,
    I'm trying to access a property of a nested JavaBean, but I always get an invalid statement error. It's telling me, that there could be a problem with the member access on the complex type.
    This is what the query looks like:
    Select myChannel.firstJavaBean from myChannel [now] where myChannel.firstJavaBean.anotherbean.property = "foo"
    The channel has the event-type "MyEvent" which is also an JavaBean and it's registered in the event repository.
    I already checked that all beans have getter and setter and that every bean is on the classpath of the cep application. I also tried to register the java type of "firstJavaBean" as an event-type. But it didn't work out.
    What's the problem with this statement?
    Thanks, Chris

    hi Chris,
    We support nested property and object type, however, it is still invalid to use the whole object in the select clause.
    You need change your statement like below:
    Select myChannel.firstJavaBean.property as property, myChannel.firstJavaBean.property2 as property2 from myChannel [now] where myChannel.firstJavaBean.anotherbean.property = "foo"
    The expressions in the select clause are expected to be the properties of the target event type.

    Always check the access_log and error_log files of the Apache web server in such a case. This will identify whether the error comes from Apache itself, mod_plsql, the Apex run-time engine, or the Oracle database.
    I see that you're creating a HTTP/1.1 in PL/SQL - however, the web server response indicates a HTTP/1.0 call was received. Unusual. And could be part of the problem.

  • How to close statement when calling in chain sequence

    Hi all,
    just have a look on below code:
    java.sql.connection con =null;
    //here getting connection
    ResultSet rs= con.createStatement().executeQuery("sql");
    its similer to chaining pattern. here I am having question,
    with the line:
    con.createStatement()
    I am creating the statement and later using this object (which is implicit object as i m not having any futher reference of it, is it correct word which i used) i am executing query and getting result set object.
    here statement object is implicit object.
    is I need to close this object? As per me its too required and i can retrived statement object with the help of resultset object and can use close method.
    but what does the java best pratice say? how they handle objects which are created in chain calling.
    for example
    //this.getPatternCode().getProperty().getName()
    thanks,
    Pax

    In short : stop doing this, it's a bad idea.
    You must always close all your resultsets, statements and connections._ Anyone who tells you anything different is wrong. End of story. Failure to properly close JDBC resources can lead to any number of problems including having your program crash and/or having the database crash.
    So stop doing that.
    There is only one correct practice and it is what is below.
    Create the connection and keep a reference to it.
    Create the statement (this can be a PreparedStatement or CallableStatement as well) using the connection and keep a reference to it (the statement).
    Create the result set using the statement.
    Process as needed.
    Close the resultset in a finally block.
    Close the statement in a finally block
    Close the connection in a finally block.

  • Invalid Object when Calling Stored Procedure from JDBC Adapter

    Hi Jerry,
    There is not much to go on here to help solve your problem. Can you
    successfully invoke the external service from Workshop's Test View? If
    this works OK you might ask your question to the integration newsgroup
    and see if they have some insight:

  • Package procedure in invalid state

    Hi all,
    We are having an application in C# and backend oracle 10g placed in Location1.
    There is modification in Packaged procedure. So we remotely (from Location2) connected to Location1 and that Packaged procedure is created.
    This Packaged procedure has been created (in Location1 ) without any errors. But this procedure is in INVALID state. We tried to compile it remotely by using following statements, but still this is in invalid state .
    ALTER PACKAGE my_package COMPILE;
    ALTER PACKAGE my_package COMPILE BODY;
    If we run this package and package body manually, without any modifications after creating it remotly, it is becoming VALID state.
    I am not getting any idea, why it is creating in INVALID state. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pal

    Ok, here's a previous response that I gave re. packages and their "states". Should give you a good idea what a state is...
    Packages tend to fail because of their "package state". A package has a "state" when it contains package level variables/constants etc. and the package is called. Upon first calling the package, the "state" is created in memory to hold the values of those variables etc. If an object that the package depends upon e.g. a table is altered in some way e.g. dropped and recreated, then because of the database dependencies, the package takes on an INVALID status. When you next make a call to the package, Oracle looks at the status and sees that it is invalid, then determines that the package has a "state". Because something has altered that the package depended upon, the state is taken as being out of date and is discarded, thus causing the "Package state has been discarded" error message.
    If a package does not have package level variables etc. i.e. the "state" then, taking the same example above, the package takes on an INVALID status, but when you next make a call to the package, Oracle sees it as Invalid, but knows that there is no "state" attached to it, and so is able to recompile the package automatically and then carry on execution without causing any error messages. The only exception here is if the thing that the package was dependant on has changes in such a way that the package cannot compile, in which case you'll get an Invalid package type of error.
    And if you want to know how to prevent discarded package states....
    Move all constants and variables into a stand-alone package spec and reference those from your initial package. Thus when the status of your original package is invlidated for whatever reason, it has no package state and can be recompiled automatically, however the package containing the vars/const will not become invalidated as it has no dependencies, so the state that is in memory for that package will remain and can continue to be used.
    As for having package level cursors, you'll need to make these local to the procedures/functions using them as you won't be able to reference cursors across packages like that (not sure about using REF CURSORS though.... there's one for me to investigate!)
    This first example shows the package state being invalided by the addition of a new column on the table, and causing it to give a "Package state discarded" error...

  • Why Package Specification only in INVALID State

    Hi All,
    Why Package spec is going to invalid state when I change a Procedure which is called in Package body
    and why package body is still in VALID state. Can some one please clarify my doubt.

    May be only specification got errors and not the package.
    May be the constants / variables declared in package specification has wrong reference
    like var1 tab1.col1%type which column doesnexists....
    OR
    V number(1) :=10;
    or
    improper closing / ending of a procedure..

  • Valid packages goes invalid when executing application

    Friends of pl/sql
    When we execute our application we find that 2 of our main packiages go invalid for no reason. The packages compiles just fine when we then compile them. So, no syntax errors. But it stops our application with a lovely "existing state of packages have been discarded......." type error. Not too nice.
    What are some of the things to check on for why the package goes invalid ?
    We are using TOAD and sql*monitor to trace the process at the moment...........
    Any solutions out there ?
    Environment : Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 on Oracle 11.1.0.6 (latest patch available). Oracle 11 client as well.

  • Invalid cursor state when trying to insert record

    Hi everyone!
    I'm using JDBC-ODBC bridge to connect to a mySql database, which works fine. Then I try to insert new records, but this only works for the first record in the table.
    When there is already a record in the table, I always get "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Invalid cursor state" when calling the updateRow()-method of the result set.
    Here is my code:            // open db connection
                Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
                Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:TTManager", "xxxx", "xxxx");
                // Prepare SQL statement
                java.sql.Statement stmt = conn.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_UPDATABLE);
                ResultSet result = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM Player");
                result.moveToInsertRow();Then all fields are filled in this manner:            result.updateString("Name", name);And finally the insertRow should be written to the db:            result.insertRow();But at this point it gives the mentioned error, including these messages:         at sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcResultSet.setPos(JdbcOdbcResultSet.java:5272)
            at sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcResultSet.insertRow(JdbcOdbcResultSet.java:4132)Since I'm very unexperienced with Java, I guess (or hope^^) it's just some stupid beginner's mistake.
    Oh, almost forgot to mention: The new record's data doesn't violate any unique-constraints on the table, all fields are explicitely filled and all variable's data types are matching their according field types!
    Any help would be appreciated!
    reinski

    Ok, I needed to help myself and this is what I found out:
    If the table already contains records, it is not enough to doresult.moveToInsertRow();but I must beresult.last();
    result.moveToInsertRow();I didn't find any explanation and even the code examples from the Sun tutorial don't mention this, so I guess it's a bug occurring in my poor IT environment: DB server running mySQL 5.0.0-alpha on a P1-233-MMX w/ 64MB under WinNT4 (hey don't laugh!!^^).
    Maybe this information is of use to someone having similar problems...

  • DBMS_JOB using Packaged Functions but Package goes invalid

    Is there any way to check a package while running a PL/SQL procedure to see if it's state is valid and then catch the exception?
    In my case usually just calling any function in the package 1x clears it up but the procedure in question runs as a DBMS_JOB it just keeps failing. This procedure could run often enough that Oracle will mark it as broken but I want to give it every shot at execution on time instead of having to make it wait till the next cycle.
    What I would like to do is to catch the exception for the package state being invalid and basically have it go back to the beginning of the procedure and give it another try before failing in case it is just a failure because the package has been altered.
    Is there any way to do this?

    Firstly, I'll copy/paste my standard response regarding package state going invalid as it usually helps to have an understanding of these things...

    Secondly, from this above standard response, you can see how to check for package state if you want to determine it programatically.

  • Getting error code 1 when calling SSIS package from a stored procedure (SQL Server 2008 R2)

    Hello,
    I am trying to execute a SSIS package from SQL Server 2008 R2 stored procedure but getting error code 1 (as per my knowledge, error code description is as below:
    0 The package executed successfully.
    1 The package failed.
    3 The package was canceled by the user.
    4 The utility was unable to locate the requested package. The package could not be found.
    5 The utility was unable to load the requested package. The package could not be loaded.
    6 The utility encountered an internal error of syntactic or semantic errors in the command line.
    Details:
    I have a stored procedure named "Execute_SSIS_Package" (see below sp) which executes 'Import_EMS_Response' SSIS package (when I execute this package directly from SQL Server BID it works fine it means package itself is correct) and calling
    it from SQL as:- EXEC Execute_SSIS_Package 'Import_EMS_Response'.
    Here I receives error code 1.
    Can anyone help me to resolve this issue please?
    Thanks in advance!
    CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[Execute_SSIS_Package]
     @strPackage nvarchar(100)
    AS
    BEGIN
     -- SET NOCOUNT ON added to prevent extra result sets from

     SET NOCOUNT ON;
     DECLARE @cmd VARCHAR(8000)
     DECLARE @Result int
     DECLARE @Environment VARCHAR(100)
        SELECT @Environment = Waarde
     FROM  Sys_Settings
     WHERE Optie = 'Omgeving'
     --print @Environment
     SET @strPackage = '"\W2250_NGSQLSERVER\BVT\' + @Environment + '\' + @strPackage + '"'
     SET @cmd = 'dtexec /SQL ' + @strPackage +  ' /SERVER "w2250\NGSQLSERVER"  /Decrypt "BVT_SSIS" /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING E'
     --print @cmd
     EXECUTE @Result = master..xp_cmdshell @cmd, NO_OUTPUT
     --print @Result
    END

    It has something to do with the security.
    E.g. cmdshell is not enabled or the caller has not rights over the package.
    There could be a syntax error, too.
    I suggest you make the package runnable off a SQL Agent job then trigger the job from the stored proc with
    sp_start_job <job name>

  • How can I call my chart in Forms6i on When Button Press Trigger?

    Hi Friends,
    I have make a chart in Graphic Builder 6i and save on path C:\graph\test.ogd
    Now I want to run this Chart from Form6i on When Button Press trigger.
    I have call my report in forms using this command on When Button Press trigger.
    Run_Product(reports,'C:\Cheema\Qdir_store\reports\pmms\sec_backlog',asynchronous,runtime,filesystem,TO_CHAR(NULL));
    So tell me How can I call my chart in Forms6i?
    Please reply me on urgent.
    Thanks,
    Shahzad

    Just to recall after a long break of couple of years..... Pls check out if not wrong.
    First of all you need to embeed the chart object on your layout window and make it visible = FALSE. This is a design time work. In the button press event, show the chart object by setting the visible property = TRUE.
    Note, i could not paste u the sample code as i don't have forms installation on my PC. The above states is a logic you can apply.
