Packages in webstart archive

Normally you should specify the class with the main method in a jnlp file, with the tag
<application-desc main-class="Auteursomgeving" />However, the class that contains my main method is inside a package "author". Using
<application-desc main-class="author.Auteursomgeving" />doesn't seem to work. any suggestions?

The jar file your application is in should contain the directory 'author'. So you need to jar the directory, not just the classes in it.

UDF does not find package in imported archive

Hello,
as I want to use a base64 encoding method I have created an imported archive to use the package org.apache.commons.code.binary and want to use Base64 class in an UDF.
I have created an imported archive in the same SVCW and namespsace as the UDF exists. However when executing the UDF I get the following error message:
package org,.apache.commons.codes.binary. does not exist
import org.apache.commons.codec.binary.*
The import statement in the UDF is spelled correctly and the imported archive was acitvated without error.
What could be the reason for this?

The import archive procedure you have done is correct. In your UDF check your importing statement as its not in correct syntax.
and also check the spelling of the package. check the words i have marked with in tags.

[Solved] can't enter package management in latest version of Emacs

When I try to do something like 'package-install' or 'list-packages' in the latest version of Emacs, it refuses, complaining:

Do you have an older version of melpa in your load-path (e.g. .emacs.d/elpa/melpa-x.x) over-riding the built-in package management in later versions of emacs?
If so, delete the melpa-x.x directory and restart emacs.

"Show Package Contents" Not Showing

There is no "show package contents" option when I right click. This screenshot was on a folder. Same with .dmg etc.

I do have "Secrets" downloaded (extra preferances thing). Maybe there is something there I hit or turn off?

I think you are confusing what options apply to different file types.
A .dmg is a disk image - you access it by double clicking it and it mounts on your desktop.
Within the .dmg you'll see a .mpkg or a .pkg - the icons look like a 3D box. This can be right clicked (control clicked) and you will see the option to Show Package Contents. (Archive.bom, Archive.pax.gz, Info.plist, PkgInfo, Resources)
Double clicking the .mpkg or .pkg invokes the Installer and installs the resources within the package on to your machine.

IDVD archive failing to capture all files

I understand the difference between saving a iDVD project vs. creating an archive.
I have a project that includes movie, photo and music assets. This project is archived.
When I open this archive in iDVD and then go 'Project -> Project Info', sure enough, assets are located in the 'my project Archived.dvdproj/Contents/etc' (i.e. in the package of the archive)
HOWEVER, one, just one photo from my iPhoto library is still located in ~/Pictures/iphoto_library !!!
Help, why is this archive incomplete ??

All,
I have solved this problem myself. It turns out the the photo that would not archive correctly was corrupted. The actual file itself had some form of corruption (and iPhoto showed its 'preview' but would not open that image itself for editing).
I deleted the photo in iPhoto, then replaced it from a backup and bingo, iPhoto could edit it and iMovie would archive correctly.
So : if iMovie archive fails to archive a file, check carefully that this file is present and opens correctly.

SDM is used for deploying software packages (Software Deployment Archives and Software Component Archives) that you receive from SAP.
For other archives, you can use the deploy tool.

SDM is also capable of doing normal deployment, however many administrators may choose to block SDM Access.
Also SDM deployment generally cause a stop/start of J2EE engine, which is undesirable if many developers are working on the system.
Deploy tool provides for HOT deployment or on the fly deployment without J2EE restart.

Re-Install of 10.4.6 from original DVD will not complete on MacBook Pro

I purchased a new MacBook Pro 15" laptop around Oct 1, 2006 and I am now unable to use it.
It came with 10.4.6 installed. I updated the system to 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 using update packages directly from the Apple site. Then I ran a Security Update to 10.4.8 and nothing has worked right since.
I tried using Disk Utility in every way and was always able to repair with no errors found. I tried to troubleshoot various applications to see if they were the issue with no improvement. The ultimate problem was the entire system would freeze and would have to be rebooted. Sometimes the system would boot up, sometimes the apple and gear would run and then a circle with a line through it would replace the apple symbol. Sometimes I would get the dreaded blinking folder with question mark. Most of the time rebooting could eventually get you to the desktop, but the system never worked for longer than 15 to 30 minutes.
So, I decided to reinstall 10.4.6 from the install DVD that came with my computer. I cannot get 10.4.6 re-installed. I have used disk utility to erase, repair, partition and so on and after a few tries it repairs succesfully.
I ran the Hardware test and it says no trouble found.
The install log ends with the following three errors:
1. unable to copy package source file OSInstall.dist to destination reciept ...
2. unable to copy package source file archive.bom to destination reciept
3. Install failed: Some Files for Base System may not have been written correctly.
I am at the end of my rope. Please help. Thanks!

I agree...bad drive or bad controller or even a bad connection. Hardware issues on computers still under warranty should be dealt with by Apple. Even though you have already run the hardware test, there could still be a hardware problem. You could try booting from a disk repair utility like Disk Warrior but that means you would have to buy the utility and that's money you should not have to spend on a machine that is still covered by warranty.
There is one other thing you could try and that would to try and boot the computer into "safe mode" and try everything discussed in this article:

Also, if you have access to another Mac, you could try booting your computer into target disk mode and then run disk repair from the other computer. Also, if you computer boots into target disk mode, you can copy any vital data and files before you hand it over to Apple for repair.

How can I open help file (HTML or .chm) from Java Web Start (new to JAVA)

When trying to access the help file from the GUI (pressing F1 for launching the help file), I'm geting the an error, something like:

It seems that the file which is packed in a jar, was downloaded to the Java Web Start cache directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\javaws\cache\http\Dlocalhost\P7001\DMwebstart
The code which is activated when launching the help file is:

I found these restrictions regarding web start:

Deploying a CF app as WAR file

I'd like to package an existing ColdFusion application as a
WAR file and deploy it on a J2EE server. I've been trying to test
this out locally without success. If you have a magic bullet,
you're disco-superfly. If you just have a suggestion for further
troubleshooting, you're still double cherry pie. Gruesome details

PACKAGING:
I've got a developer version of MX7 running on Windows XP. I
threw together a demo CF app, "SimpleApp". In the administrator, I
go to "Packaging & Deployment" > "J2EE Archives (.ear/.war)"
and create an archive (SimpleApp.war).
DEPLOYMENT:
I've tried this on both JRun and several versions of Tomcat
without success. On each server, I have been able to deploy a WAR
file from a previous project created straight from Java/JSP - just
not the one created in the CF administrator.
JRun4:
In the administrator, I "add" the web applications in the
"J2EE Components" section and everything looks okay. When I browse
to the webapp created in native Java/JSP, everything looks
beautiful; but when I browse to
http://127.0.0.1:8100/SimpleApp/
I see a "403 Forbidden" error. Server log default-event.log is at:

Tomcat 4.1 running on J2SDK1.4.2_12:
Native Java WAR deploys and runs fine.
I copy SimpleApp.war to the Tomcat webapps\ folder and the

I notice an error mentioning "Invalid <url-pattern>

webapp.

I heard that MX7 only works with Java versions through 1.4.2
and Tomcat has it's own compatibility requirements; but I thought

Could you believe I just ran into the same problem you had in 2008, and STILL there are no documented solution to this issue.
I am trying to deploy a simple CF code using Tomcat 7.0.20, and it just does not work!
How did you ever resolve this error in Tomcat? It is supposed to be pretty staright forward, but it just does not work.
Any ideas? been looking for days...

XML parser not able to find encoding format of xml file with jre1.4.2

I am using jre1.4.2_05 and Weblogic 8.1 version and i have a problem with finding encoding format of xml file.
I need to parse a xml file and need to find which encoding format that xml is based on that i need to change logic.
Need to know after parsing each xml file what encoding format the xml is? Here the problem is we are using jre1.4.2_05 by default DOM \ SAX parser is not supported and i looked at few third party parser which are also don't have facility.
But in latest jre 1.5 or jdk1.5 has this feature. Its difficult to the project to upgrade to jre1.5 or more.
Please let me know if you have any idea about the issue.

Yes - use that one. It uses the Oracle instantclient instead of the old 9.2 client. Make sure you add "-loadprocedure fast" to the load options, this will enable the fastloader.
Make also sure you install all the patchsets and interim patches BEFORE you start the data load.

if you disk I/O subsystem can´t deliver more than you are lost with Oracle parameters.

Create PDF Utility for Safari - Documenation and Contents not in Sync

I downloaded the acrobat_ittools_create_pdf_032613 package. The archive contains the following three files:
document.wflow
info.plist
SafariCreatePDF.pdf
The documentation in SafariCreatePDF.pdf assumes that the following files are present:
Safari Create PDF from Web Page.workflow
WebCapture.pdf
I can rename the document.wflow file to document.wflow and make it a valid Automator file, but I am missing the file WebCapture.pdf, which according to the documentation creates JavaScript that needs to be executed when a web page gets converted to PDF.
Are you planning on updating this file with a more recent and complete version of the solution?

Offline ICE transport error

Hello,
we try to transport KM content via ICE offline mode. For this, we created links to the content folders in ICE Global offer directory. With click on "complete Package" the content archive is generated.
When we try to import the file via Content Exchange Package Upload, the following message is shown:
"fullupdate.zip" does not exist, or file is empty; you cannot upload empty files.
The archive definitely exists and is not empty.
Does anybody has an idea?
Help is highly appreciated and will be rewarded.

Process and java classes

Hi...
My Bpel process accesses some java objects..To keep classes and projects separate I am keepin these classes in a war/ear and deploying it on oc4j...do u think the process can access the java classes in .war file..
I know i can have the java classes along with process source and copy the libs in BPEL-INF/lib but was trying to keep the code separate..
The process when compiled and built is packaged into .jar archive ..If we can drop this jar in an .ear package and deploy it probablythen the process can access the java classes..Can I access samples for the same?..

I don't believe you can access java objects from a war/ear, at least I wasn't able to get it working.
We have been jar'ing the objects up and placing them in C:\OraBPELPM_1\integration\orabpel\system\appserver\oc4j\j2ee\home\applib where the apps server can find them.

Sap j2ee engine configuration in NWDS

Hi,
I am using Netweaver studio 2.0.15 for developing web dynpro application and using Application server 7.1.
When I try to configure J2EE engine in Netweaver studio, it is giving a message
message saying "No system could be found under
sapmnt."
If i configure as remote host, server was configured but when i try to deploy the application i am getting message " Cannot determine sdm host. Please configure your engine/sdm correctly."
Please any one help me to resolve my problem.
