Packing of Material inside Pallets in Handling Units

Hi All,
Let me know me any user exit or BADI to create pallet inside handling units. If there is any give some information about parameters and how to use.
I have an urgent requirement to pack material inside pallets in Handling unit in following way.
Suppose there are 3 Materials M1, M2 and M3 and their Quanities to be packed are  30, 50 and 25 and suppose the size of pallet in which they will be packed is such that it can hold maximum 20 each then materials will e packed as given below. Then all should be packed in such a way that remainder qty should go to the last.
first  20 of M1 ( since 10 is remainder it will go the last )
then 20 of M2
then 20 of M2 (since 10 is remainder of M2 it will go to the last)
then 20 of M2 ( 5 will go the last)
Now in new pallet we can put 10 of M1 and 10 of M2
and in next pallet 5 of M3.
Tell me any user exit or BADI to acheive it I am creating deliveries from Transaction VL10E.
<b>Waiting for your replies. Good points are assured</b>
Thanks
Tanweer

  • Material to Material stock transfer betn Handling Unit to nonhandling Unit

    Hi Experts,
    Pls explain step by step procedure to Material to Material stock transfer betn Handling Unit to nonhandling Unit.

    Hi,
    You have several options. In case you use the Stock Transport order scenario, you simple pick and pack in the HU managed SLOC and PGI. You PGR in the non HU managed SLOC. HU's are not taken into consideration. If you would use inbound deliveries, you can have the HU's copied from the inbound to the outbound delivery but still you dont do anything with the HU in the non-HU SLOC.
    You can also use tcode VLMOVE, if your HU managed SLOC is not connected to a WM. You do a 311 posting which creates a posting change delivery. After PGI the HU is moved from SLOC 1 to SLOC 2.

  • Combine pallets using Handling unit

    Hi experts,
    i created a material using pallets and that pallets has 12 piece of materials ,i just want to combine  3 pallets in one handing unit(like container) using  handling unit ..how i have to configure........
    thanks

    Dear Kumar,
    You can get through packing related configuration settings and assign those settings in the Material master data.
    Please fallow these steps
    -->First you create material master data for the packaging material Pallets and Container with VERP material type.
    Now you go to IMG then define packing related settings for the packaging material.Menu path is
    SPRO>IMG>Logistics execution>Shipping>Packing
    -->Define Packaging Material Types as ZPL Pallet ,ZCON Container
    -->Define Material Group for Packaging Materials as ZPL Pallet ,ZCON Container.
    -->Define Allowed Packaging Materials
    ZPL Pallet <>ZCON-- Container.
    Now you assign Material Group for Packaging Materials in the material master data Basic Data 1 view.
    In finished  material master data assign Pallet material group.
    In Pallet material master data assign container material group.
    Noe you can able to pack as per your requirement in the delivery document.
    I hope it will help you,
    Regards,
    Murali.

  • Sales Order Packing Proposal Handling Units Serial Numbers

    Hi Guru
    I am able to create SAP Sales Order Packing Proposal to pack the Line items and also Handling Units got created.
    But I can not assign serial nos in to this handling Units .Serial No ICON Greyed  out  (Not Editable) in the Sales Order Handling Unit Screen.
    Please help
    Thanks
    SR

    Hi,
    In my point view packing material should be used in the delivery document only.
    Not in sales order.
    Because in delivery document you can pack the material and get the handling unit number also.
    So why you want it should be done at the sales order level only?
    It's my point of view and it may be wrong also.
    But I will prefer to use the packing material in delivery document only not in sales order.
    Regards
    Raj.

  • PACKING-Handling Unit

    Dear SAP,
    We are using Manual Packing in our business scenario. In the packing process, system will not considering, Most appropriate material to pack in the handling unit, if the handling unit have some space, But the system is considering the immediate next material only.
    Here I am explaining the business process:
    1.Packing Material –CART is having allowed volume is 10 CCM.
    2.There are three material  (Normal finished material )
    Material     -   Volume
        X     -   1 CCM
        Y     -    2.5 CCM
        Z     -    1.5 CCM
    3.The Delivery consists of following delivery quantity:
    Item No -     Material -   Quantity
    90001     -  X     -   8
    90002     -  Y     -   4
    90002     -  Z     -   1
    4.While in packing, the system generating the three Handling units.
    Handling unit     -     Material    -          Quantity     -  Total Volume
    Handling Unit 1         -        X     -     8     -  8CCM
    Handling Unit 2         -        Y     -     4     -  10CCM
    Handling Unit 3         -        Z     -     1     -  1.5 CCM
    But above generation is wrong .system has to generate as
    Handling unit     -     Material   -   Quantity     -     Total Volume
    Handling Unit 1          -        X     -     8     -     9.5CCM
              -                  Z     -     1
    Handling Unit 2          -        Y     -     4     -     10 CCM
    The Reason as follows:
    System first packing the item no: 90001, in handling unit1 (Say consumed 8 CCM) and for remaining space, it’s considering the only immediate next item only (i.e. Item-90002), But it’s not considering the most appropriate material (item no.90003)
    Kindly help me out in above scenario.
    Regards,
    Shekar

    U can always change manually in the sales order if there is a mismatch the quantity which can be fit into the carton.... from the packing proposal screen in the sales order or Handling unit screen in the delivery...
    Create the packing instruction for the quantity which is regularly used and change manually for all the other quantities...
    As far as I know there is no other option for this...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pavan P.

    So how to to configure this.
    Please guide me.

    Hi,
    Sometime back Allabaqsh Patil has forwarded me this material for my question on packaging. I did it and it worked well.
    You can follow the same procedure and do it. It will work for you. The details are given below.
    hi,
    before creating the packaging material you have to go to:
    IMG-Logistics Execution-Shipping -Packing.
    1. Define packaging material types- it can be anything like boxes crates, etc. in this you have to maintain the output determination procedure, output type, plant determination, packaging material category, generate delivery items, number assignment. you can copy from standard also.
    2. Then go to define material group for packaging materials - here you maintain the four digit code and the description. Actually, this group is nothing but similar products which require similar packing products. For Ex. Nokia Phones all types they are basically packed first into a polythene bag. So here nokia phones can become a material group for packaging materials and polythene bag can become the packaging material type which can include different sizes and types of polythene bags.
    3. Define Allowed Packaging Materials - Here you assign the shipping group for packaging materials to the packaging material type. This is related to your mterial master data of the packaging material which you create.
    4. Now go to MM01 to create a packaging material. use material type as Packaging material then inside the system will take the item category group as VERP. Then in the Basic Data1 screen you have the material group for packaging material (MGPM). Slect the proper one. Now in the Sales:General/ Plant screen you have to maintain data regarding the packaging. you select the MGPM same as the basic data 1 screen, then select the packaging material type, the allowed pkh weight, allowed pkg volume. This is important because if the weight of your finished item is 2 KG and in the allowed pkg weight you enter only 1.5 KG, then while you carry out the packing process in delivery, the system will give you error," packaging weight exceeded." The assignment in the IMG creen for Define allowed packaging materials should be same as u mention in the material master. Then save your material master for packaging material.
    5. VA01 create the order, save it.
    6. VL01N enter shipping point, go to edit - pack- you will face a screen with 2 parts. In the top part you select your packaging material in which you want to pack your finished item, enter the system will assign a number to that material. Now select the Material in the top part and the finished one in the lower part and click on the Icon Pack. Here one thing has to be taken care of. Suppose if you want to pack only one finished item in one packaging material, then in the lower part of the screen you have a field for partial quantity here you chnge it to 1. system will prompt quantity changed. now you select the material in the top part and the one in the lower part and click on the PER PART. QTY ICON. In this way the system will pack only one finished item in a single packaging material. Packing is done go back, select the picking and do the PGI. save the delivery and create the invoice.
    HANDLING UNITS.
    Basically handling units come into picture when you want to carry out multi level packing. suppose you want to pack Nokia phone first into a polythene bag, then this polythene bag is again packed in to box. like that. then this box will become a handling unit. For this go to :
    IMG - Logistics General - Handling Unit Mangement - Basics.
    1. In basics you do the same thing as you did in the packing in logistics execution. like you create the packaging material type, then MGPm and their assignment.
    2. Then go to External Identification - and maintain the number ranges forthe handling units that you want and assign the same to your pckaging material type.
    3. Now that you have done everything, create the order, save it, in VL01N, enter shipping point, go to edit - pack - do the same thing as i ahve told you in the step no. 6 (above). now after doing select the PACK HUs TAB . NOW IN THIS SCREEN IN THE TOP PART YOU WILL SEE THE ALREADY PACKED MATERIAL. In that same part again select your next packaging material that is BOX. enter the system will assign the number to the BOX.
    4. Now select the material which you have just entered and the materials which were already packed in the lower part of the screen and click on the ICON PACK.
    This is what I know about the packing process and the handling unit. you have many things in the handling unit management whichcan be very useful for automatic packing.
    HOPE I AHVE ANSWERED YOUR QUERY.
    PLEASE REWARD VALUABLE POINTS IF SOLUTION FOUND USEFUL.

    A handling unit is a physical unit that consists of the packaging materials (load carrier / packaging material) and the goods contained therein. A handling unit is always a combination of materials and packaging materials. All the information contained in the material items, such as batches and serial numbers, is always available by way of the handling units.
    Handling units can be nested, meaning that you can also create new handling units from several handling units as often as you like.
    Handling units have unique, scannable identification numbers that can be formed according to standards such as EAN 128 or SSCC.
    Figure 1: Handling unit example
    Structure
    The handling unit object contains the following attributes:
    •     Identification number
    •     Dimensions
    •     Weight
    •     Volume
    •     Status
    •     Materials and quantities
    •     Packaging materials
    •     Packing instructions
    A handling unit consists of a handling unit header and handling unit items. For identification purposes, it is given a unique number.
    Handling unit header
    The header data of a handling unit is divided in the following way:
    •     Weight/Volume/Dimensions
    •     General data
    •     Means-of-transport data
    •     Additional data
    •     Output determination procedure
    For more information about each of these detailed points, see Editing detailed data for handling units.
    Status
    The handling unit is linked to general status management. In this way, the various physical states (planned or implemented) and other attributes (weighed, loaded, blocked or posted goods issue) of handling units can be documented.
    You can use the HU_ST_INIT user parameter when you create handling units without object reference to set which initial status the handling unit is to have when it is created.
    If you want to implement a status of your own, you can define a user-specific procedure for the packaging material type (see also Define Packaging Material Types).
    Handling unit item
    The items of a handling unit can consist of material items, packaging materials or other handling units that appear in an overview. For more information about this overview, see the Contents section of Editing detailed data for handling units.
    To access the item data of an individual handling unit, select the handling unit concerned and choose Goto &#61614; Detailed HU data &#61614; Contents.
    Integration
    Handling units can be used in all processes within the supply chain.
    Please Reward If Really Helpful,
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Who familiar with Handling Unit Management(HUM) module?

    Hi,
    It was said that if we active the HUM module in Clint level.  Then the packing BOX number will not be allowed to be duplicated.
    Whether this means that VEKP-EXIDV, this field will not be allowed to be duplicated??
    Could anyone help my understanding on this?  Thanks!

  • Create Handling unit after receiving finished goods  from production

    Hello,
    My client's requirement is that they do not want a TR or TO to get created at the time of Production order confirmation and neither they want to create the Handling unit at the time of confirmation.
    They want to move the material from production to warehouse as one Handling unit after multiple confirmations. They want to create Handling unit manually after the receipt of materials.
    What is the process of creating Handling unit after we have FG (multiple batches).
    After creation of Handling units, my client wants to ship the same Handling unit out to customer.
    How to create Handling unit
    Regards
    Prabhjot Singh

    Hi,
    If I understand right - customer wants a simple transfer of finished goods from production to warehouse, and latter pack into handling units.
    Possible scenario:
    1) Assign production order to non-WM and non-HU storage location. Post GR for production order using transaction MIGO (mvmt. type 101) for a whole quantity produced for production order.
    2) Setup packing table in IMG (Logistic General > Handling Units > General > Setup packing table> ...) --> packing table is a functionality for packing goods into HU - it takes goods from predefined source non-WM/non-HU location, packs them into HU and places them in target WM-HUM location.
    2) Maintain packaging instruction (trans. POP1 and POF1) to automate the packaging quantities.
    3) Run packaging table by HUPAST, select your table and pack.
    4) Packed HU ends up on WM-HUM location.
    This process can be done either in SAP GUI (HUPAST) or you can build it in RF transaction and run it with mobile RF scanner (ABAP development required).
    Hopefully this will be of any help.
    Regards, Primoz

  • Outbound Delivery Handling Unit HU material box pallet

    Business requirement.
    To create a delivery based on a sales order using a function module. To do this, users have an AbapWebdynpro application to collect data,
    Handling units for boxes and handling units for pallets are creates as the user packs his materials in the application.
    Items are packed in boxes and boxes on pallets.
    Problem description: cannot pack boxes onto pallets.
    I can pack items in boxes no problems. Delivery gets created ok.
    How i do it:
    Step 1:
    At the end of AbapWebdynpro process and validations, if no errors occurs, a function module is called to format the data and call fm to create a delivery.
    This part works as expected and is all ok.
    Step 2:
    Then in the function module that will create de delivery, header proposal is filled for boxes and pallets. itemproposal is filled for items in boxes and pallets
    Step 3:
    then,
    FUNCTION 'BAPI_HU_CREATE' is used to create handling units for items
    This part works perfectly for boxes and items but not for pallets.
    then, delivery create
    CALL FUNCTION 'SD_DELIVERY_UPDATE_PACKING_1'
    EXPORTING
    delivery = ls_createditems-document_numb
    commit = 'X'
    synchron = 'X'
    TABLES
    verko_tab = i_verko
    verpo_tab = i_verpo
    prot = i_prot
    it_handling_units_1 = i_handling_unit
    EXCEPTIONS
    update_not_possible = 1
    OTHERS = 2.
    This part works fine also if not pallets HU are present in the data .
    The problem is when i want to create a pallet and add the boxes to it. I have tried about every thing i read but had not much success.
    The only thing that came close to doing the job is the following code.
    First i create the delivery with boxes and materials only and with the following FM, i create the pallet and attach it to the delivery line but then i can not assign the boxes to it.
    ls_handling_units-top_hu_external = ls_packed_pallets-hu_pallet.
    ls_handling_units-top_hu_internal = ls_hupallet.
    ls_handling_units-venum = ls_huboxes.
    ls_handling_units-vepos = ls_packed_boxes-posnr.
    ls_handling_units-rfbel = lv_vbeln.
    ls_handling_units-rfpos = ls_packed_boxes-posnr.
    APPEND ls_handling_units TO lt_rehang.
    Step 4:
    CALL FUNCTION 'SD_DELIVERY_UPDATE_PACKING_1'
    EXPORTING
    delivery = ls_createditems-document_numb
    commit = 'X'
    synchron = 'X'
    TABLES
    verko_tab = i_verko
    verpo_tab = i_verpo
    prot = i_prot
    it_handling_units_1 = i_handling_unit
    EXCEPTIONS
    update_not_possible = 1
    OTHERS = 2.
    Is anyone succeed to create a program to create outbound delivery where materials are pack into boxes and those boxes are packed on pallets.
    Regards
    dstj

    If the delivery document PGIed then you need to do VL09 transaction to reverse the PGI document.
    Then do in VL02N transaction  select Delete handling unit assignment icon it will remove all the handling units from delivery.
    Later goto EDIT option then selct copy pack qty as dlv qty then save.Later system will allow you to delete the document.
