Pacman should run `systemd daemon-reload` when updating .service files

Every time pacman updates a service like ngingx; I would like to restart that service to propagate the changes. However; systemd always complains that the service file was updated. It would be nice if pacman would do this for me. Is it possible to extend pacman in userland, so I can execute this command whenever a .service file is touched? Or should I write a pacman wrapper that uses inotify to detect this?
Anyone knows if this is currently possible? I'm also interested in feedback; I'll post a feature-request on the bugtracker depending on your replies

You could have systemd watch for changes to a relevant file or directory and restart the service. Not as neat but possibly useful if you haven't thought of it already.

How to make the browser reload an updated jar-file?

Hi there,
Previosly when running applets using MSIE, all needed to reload an updated jar-file was pressing CTRL+F5
Currently I've been assigned to re-develop some of my old applets and now I realize that the old CTRL+F5 won't do the trick any more since the old jar file is still in the cache and the new jar file is not loaded.
I learned the hard way that all I can do is to manually clear the cache of the browser (Tools | Options | Delete files) and restart the browser and after that the new jar file is correctly loaded.
Cache settings of the browser is set to "Reload on every visit to the page"
Currently running Win2k, MSIE 6.0 SP1 and MSJVM 3809 but the problem also exists on Win2k, MSIE 6.0 and MSJVM 3186.
Isn't there any easier way to do this?
Currently I don't even mind not caching the jar-files at all as long as I don't get my development work trashed by having to restart the browser after every new build...
Why has the old CTRL+F5 behaviour been changed?

Sharepoint 2013 - Which Server Should Run Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service

We have just deployed Sharepoint 2013 and also CRM 2011..
Our Sharepoint 2013 Environment has a WFE and an APP server and we have a CRM 2011 box.
We have been getting the following error in IE when Users in CRM are clicking on the Document Link under accounts which links to Sharepoint 2013
"This Content cannot be displayed in a frame
To help protect the security of information you enter into this website, the publisher of this content does not allow it to be displayed in a frame."
It seems like it is a IE Security Issue, but I am suspecting it could be the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service.
Which server should be running the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Sandboxed Code Service| WFE or APP.
Also which server should run the Windows Service: SharePoint User Code Host

OAM Context showing error when updating context file on 11i apps

When i am trying to update context file using OAM, i am getting following error.
Failed when writing Context Configuration files back to file system. Possible causes: An error occurred while attempting to establish an Applications File Server connection with the node FNDFSP_dbora12. There may be a network configuration problem, or the TNS listener on node FNDFSP_dbora12 may not be running. Please contact your system administrator. . However, you still can run AutoConfig and restart services to make sure these settings take effects.

Firefox 29RC1 wont start when update service enabled.

Running W8.1 Update 1. I installed FF29RC1 which runs smoothly however when I close FF I can't start it again because it says its already running. When I shut down the FF service in the task manager, disable the update service in FF options, it runs wihthout any problem and I can start FF everytime I want to without any problem.

Firefox 29.0 has been released, so no need to install a release candidate.

When updating a service request we receive the error as follows:
ORA-01438: value larger than specified precision allowed for this column in Package CS_ServiceRequest_PVT Procedure Update_ServiceRequest.
The notes input isn't all that long compared to ones in the past. If it is based on another field I can't identify which one it is.

I also ran utlrp.sql to recompile invalid objects and still no luck.

When updating .lbi files in DreamWeaver CS4 I get an invalid path.

When I make changes to my .lbi files in DreamWeaver CS4 I and try to update them I am getting

Are all of your pages that are linked to this on the same directory level?
The ../../ in front of every link means "go up two directory levels". If there are no pages, or if some of the pages are not at that directory level, the links would be going to nothing.
I don't use library items myself, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but the "bad path" in your error report leads me to think some of those paths (since they're the only ones in the code) could be pointing to the wrong locations.
My response will also bump your question back to the top of the pile. Maybe someone else will have a good idea of what's actually happening.

Systemd - help with creating a service file

Hi, I am trying to make a service file to execute "devmon --no-mount --exec-on-audio abcde". Basicly I want abcde to run when an audio cd is inserted into a headless computer. I have tried some udev rules but had no luck with that.
I then found udevil and devmon, and it seems to do exectly what I want.
So Ive made a systemd service file and put it in to /usr/lib/systemd/system
here is it:

[Service]

ExecStart=/usr/bin/devmon --no-mount --exec-on-audio abcde

I have started this with
systemctl start abcde-auto.service
and I see that a devmon process has started with the same arguments I gave in the service file, so all is good.
But now, I am not too sure about the "Type" in the service file, devmon starts abcde, but:
systemctl stop abcde-auto.service
does not stop abcde, only devmon.
Is there a way to setup the service file so that abcde will end as well as devmon?

I use type 'oneshot' and add an ExecStop= to start and stop scripts.
Like here is the unit file I use to start and stop arno-iptables-firewall

Pacman: strange handling of newer packages when updating

I've upgradedto Xorg 7.1 packages from the testing/ repository and now when I run pacman -Syu... well it correctly reports:

And that's fine, BUT... I also have installed fixesproto-4.0-2 from testing/ and pacman -Syu tries to downgrade it to 3.0.2-2 from current/.
Is it a bug in pacman that thinks 3.0.2-2 > 4.0-2 ?
(I tried renaming fixesproto-4.0-2 to fixesproto-4.0.0-2 in /var/lib/pacman/local , and edited the version in desc, but that didn't help - although pacman -Q shows the new version)
Pacman is v2.9.8

chrismortimore, there's nothing special in my pacman.conf - except that testing is put last.
It is only an issue because you are using partial testing packages, which is not recommended.
well, I can only test some packages at a time, not the whole bunch... I still need the computer for work..
I only upgraded Xorg-server because: I knew I can get away with only several packages from testing/ and wanted to know if there are improvements in the mach64 driver, since sometimes when moving the mouse I see like a ghost flicker of the cursor. That iritates... alas 7.1 didn't help, EXA doesn't add much and EXA + RenderAccel hangs the X server.

Bug:Java install should remove old uninstall entries when updating in-place

Assume I have installed an (old) version of Java (under 64bit Win7)..
Now I download a newer/newest version of Java JDK and start installation process.
When prompted I tell the procedure to install JAva JDK in the SAME directory as the previous version.
So the old version does NOT exist any more afterwards.
Everything works fine except the fact that afterwards there is still the uninstall entry of the old version alive.
Java installation procedure should automatically remove these old uninstall entries.
I guess Oracle Java development team thinks users will install new Java versions always in different directories (which is not a must).
I think this is a bug or at least a feature request.
Where can I officially tell oracle to fix it?
Is there an official bug/feature request form?

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

Problem when updating dhcpcd file

My internet is working fine except when i update the dhcpcd file i can't access a lot of server or site. Example, i use the gatech server with pacman but after the dhcpcd update i can't.
I can visit the archlinux website but not his wiki or forum...
Any clue?

Runtime error when updating service item with BAPI PO CHANGE

Hi,
I get rutime error TABLE_INVALID_INDEX after calls:
BAPI_PO_CHANGE-> PROCESS_NON_INTEGRATED_COMP-> CHANGE_PO_SRV_ITEM -> MS_CHANGE_SERVICE_PACKAGE_PO -> ROW_IN_PO -> CHECK_ACC_PO -> MS_CHANGE_ACCASS_PO -> ESKL_UPDATE.
the reason is, that ESKL internal table is empty, so the function retrieves last entry index, there is no entry , so sy-tabix = 0 , and function updates with index 0, which causes the runtime error. I dont know why it is empty, maybe I should copy this table gt_srvaccess from BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL to BAPI_PO_CHANGE.
This error appears only in mode KNTIMOD=2 (Multikontierung), not in KNTIMOD=1(Einfachkontierung), so just when ESKL contains more lines for one PACKAGE_NUMBER.
I am just updating the value ordered to be equal value delivered to close the PO, or delete the item in case ordered >0 and deliveded = 0.

TCS 4 - RH crashes when updating FM files

I link FM files to RH to create the help file. After upgrading to TCS 4, RH kept crashing every time I tried to update the FM files. It crashed during the converting process on the same chapter. So after painful investigation, I finally determined it was the callouts on two graphics in that chapter. After removing the callouts, RH updated the FM files without crashing. I only mention this here on the forum in hopes of saving others from experiencing the pain I just went through. Good luck!

Also, another issue I have run into is spacing in the HTML around run-in headings. This is caused by RH adding an extra blank paragraph with a non-breaking space, as show in the following code. I don't need this empty paragraph added, and it was not in the FM source. Thoughts?

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
