Page extraction in adobe 8.3

Hello
I am currently having adobe acrobat reader v 8.3 installed in my computer. I want to extract pages which i am not able to do. I have searched in net many forums where it explains to extract pages and save them as seperate individual pdf's. it says click document > extract pages. But when i click the document tab i don't see the extract pages option. All i see is security settings and some other things. I have looked through all the tabs (view, file, edit etc etc) but not able to see how we can extract pages. Pls can someone help me..its very urgent !

This code works almost the way that I want

The only problem that I have is that it is putting the 15 in the form prepopulated and I dont want that to happen. I really only want the Results Field from this code to populate it there is something in that field and then add it to the total.
The second thing is the total.
For this I have resultsA+ResultsB+ResultsC and it will not populate the total field unless all of those have something in them.. With or without this code above the same thing happens to my total field. If anyone has any ideas on this wierd issue I would appreciate it.

Page Extraction is showing as Not Allowed in Adobe Reader XI

I open one of my pdf files in Adobe Reader XI. When I look at the Document Properties -> Security -> Document Restrictions Summary, Page Extraction is showing as Not Allowed.
But when I open the same pdf file in Reader X, Page Extraction is showing as Allowed.
Any Idea what could be the reason? Why is it like that?

If what you are saying is YES, then Page Extraction should be always Not Allowed for all the pdf files in Reader versions. I have many other files, when I open them in Reader it shows Page Extraction as Allowed.

Remove 'Page Extraction' security restriction in PDF generated by ADS

Hello Experts,
I am currently working on a SAP CRM project where we are using Adobe Document Services (ADS) to generate some PDF documents from SAP.
I have an issue with the Page Extraction security restriction associated to PDF generated by ADS.
This cause a problem to us since we are expecting the PDF to be processed by Streamserve later on. Streamserve is then 'converting' the PDF in its proprietary format (.lxf) and is preparing a Post Script file for our printing partner.
I have understood that Streamserve cannot processed our PDF because of the Page Extraction restriction (out from ADS, value is set to Not Allowed by default).
I have seen the following posts in SDN:

I am then getting concerned since it does not look as straightforward as I would have expected.
--> Can anyone confirm if there is a way to set the Page Extraction restriction as Allowed?
Via ADS configuration? Via code? Via some work in SAP (SFP, output device config...)?
In the above SDN posts, I can read things about buying a policy server, using Adobe Acrobat Pro or Reader Extensions.
Does anyone have a clear cut?

I don´t know how to make this work. I would open the OSS message for this and want SAP to give a workaround or say clearly this cannot be done. Well... in one of the mentioned threads it is mentioned that SAP said this is the right behavior but there was not a word about if that can be changed.

p.s.: probably it would be better for you to send only RAW data (i mean only XML data) and make the partner work with it. If the PDF is converted to "something" by a machine, then you don´t need PDF (what is a user GUI), to send only the data should suffice, or not?

Has anyone gotten this error? I have uninstalled and reinstalled a dozen times and nothing has changed. Is my DVD bad?

and found no reference to exit code 6 in the second link, and this seemed to be the relevant entry in the first link.
CS5 products indicate an exit code 6 or 7 in the Installation Status screen, or after you click the Troubleshooting link. To locate the details of which registry keys are affected, open the installation log file. Search for "return value 3," then look just above that text for the error 1401, 1402, and so on.
I found no "return value" in the following, but found these two errors:
ERROR: DF037: Unable to delete directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe\AdobePatchFiles". Error 145 The directory is not empty.(Seq 886)
ERROR: DF037: Unable to delete directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe". Error 145 The directory is not empty.(Seq 887)
However, these are the two errors I followed up on even before I posted this problem. I was able to delete the directories so they WERE empty, and still got the same result. More Exit code 6.
I have complete administrative control of my computer. There's nothing I don't have permission to do.
As for the FATAL: DS003, I get this:
DS003 Cannot create extract assets at <path> from zip file <zip file name>
The unzip operation has failed. There could be directory permission or disk space issues.
See Error "FATAL ERROR: Cannot create extract assets..." | Installer log | CS5, CS5.5.
The zip operation failed at first, but as I mentioned, I was able to fix this. However, this error did not go away after the problem with 7zip was fixed.
The only other possible problem is Error 23, a CRC, which gives me a partial result only.

The linked page does not contain more information. As it is, that old staple "Contact system administrator" is cited, but I'm the system administrator.
I have no idea what "Updater has been disabled" means. Why are updates disabled? Is this a fixable problem? Do you have any idea about how to "enable" updates?

Is there a way to do page extraction and replacement when using Adobe 9 ( the free version)?

If by "Adobe" you mean the free Adobe Reader, the answer in no. You need a program that can edit PDF files, such as Adobe Acrobat.

PDFL - How do you secure a document's permissions AND allow page extraction?

I was directed here by Adobe technical support.
I am currently using PDFL 10.1.1 to try to secure a new document's permissions.
Most of the pdPerm flags work as advertised, and enable/disable given permissions. However, for every possible combination of flags, the permission to "extract pages" remains locked. Even pdPermAll, which is documented as "all permissions," yields a document with page extraction locked.
Is there a way to secure a document's permissions AND allow page extraction?

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to display a document library with different view as web part on some sites’ pages.
I recommend that you can follow the steps as below to implement it in your environment.
Go to your site, create a main document library, create different views on the document library.
Go to “Library Settings” of the current document library, click “Save document library as template” under the “Permissions and Management” section, check “Include Content” and click “OK”.
Go to your other sites, create new document libraries based on the new template, create new pages to insert the new document libraries web part, then respectively edit the list view web parts to select different views based on your needs and save the changes
of the pages.
Then, the new pages will be like below:

Yes the field page n of m is used normally for printing page numbers. But it won't display the current page of total pages by itself. You have to set the run time property to n (current page ) and m (Total number of pages). Carefully select the # (current page ) and ## (Total number of pages). Hope this works for you.
My requirement is to have the user control on current page. For Example:
Example for a Invoice with 5 PO items (stands on 2 pages) :
1st page is the letter : no page number
2nd page is the 1st page of the 1st copy of the invoice : we should read u201C1 / 2u201D

Presently i cam getting the current page number for page 4th as 3 / 2 and for 5th page 4 / 2. I could able to control the total number of pages from print program. But when i am printing the second copy (4th and 5th pages), I couldn't able to control the current page number. I need to initialize the Current page count (4th page ) as 1.
I have used the follwing java scripting:
this.rawValue = wv_pages - xfa.layout.page(this)
where wv_pages is total no of pages calculated from print program.
Please help me in this regard with some formcal or java scripting conditions.

The end-user will abe able to view the four pages in the PDF - however - the PDF would only allow printing of one page. The PDF would need to be pre-set for the end-user. Is there a setting Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to allow this type of specific pre-set printing.

I have recently downloaded the newest version of flash player (version 11.9.900.117) and it is working fine with things like Youtube. However some websites that use flash player are coming up with the error message 'To view this page ensure that Adobe Flash Player version 10.0.0 or greater is installed'? I dont understand why this is happening as the version I have is 11.9.900.117 for Internet Explorer?? Please help this is driving me crazy!!!

Exactly the same problem with me, and (apart from basic fix issues like disabling ActiveX filtering, etc) no-one seems to know a solution.
OS: Win 7 64 bit
Browser: IE 10
Flash v: 11.9.900.117 (but problem continued after reverting to earlier versions with proper clean uninstalls of 11.9).
I do note that at around the time the trouble started, Google Chrome did some (background) updates, including its embedded version of this latest flash. But if the others (above) don't also have Chrome, that is clearly not the issue. Perhaps it's a registry issue?

Allowing page extraction with a change permissions password enforced

How can I enforce a change permission password for my PDF and still allow for page extraction? All settings I have tried result in page extraction being not allowed. I've seen on another discussion site that enabling printing and selecting any option other than the last two for the configuration Changes Allowed should allow for page extraction.

As I understand it, all security settings (except "None") will have that effect. New documents wouldn't have security, so it would be pointless to have the security. You can delete all unwanted pages, however, if document editing is permitted.

You can create the secure zone in Business Catalyst and then place the secure zone login form code from Business Catalyst to the page in Muse.
